CBD-Infused Kombucha on Tap at Cultured South in West End, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Fermented products market Cultured South at the Lee + White complex in West End is adding a new kombucha to its taproom lineup — a grapefruit and rosemary kombucha infused with cannabidiol (CBD.) This is a first for owner Melanie Wade’s shop, which offers kombucha on tap made by her fermented tea company, Golda Kombucha. It’s also one of the first Georgia beverage companies to take advantage of the new Agriculture Improvement Act, signed into law by President Trump last month, containing provisions legalizing industrial hemp, from which non-psychoactive CBD is extracted." - Beth McKibben

Atlanta’s First Kombucha Taproom Opens in May - Eater Atlanta

"Melanie Wade, owner of Golda Kombucha, will open her fermented market and kombucha taproom Culture South on Sunday, May 20 at Lee + White in West End. The grand opening also serves as the date for the second annual Atlanta Fermentation Fest which takes place from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. The day’s festivities include demos, food from mobile cafe Alkaline Junkie, live music, and kombucha in the new taproom. Festival attendees can bring their own cultures for the ‘culture swap’. The grand opening is free. Tickets for the fermented fest start at $10 per person with proceeds benefiting Community Farmers Markets. Cultured South’s 6000-square-foot marketplace, kombucha taproom, and production facility will also be home to Pure Abundance Cashew Cheese (raw, organic, dairy-, soy- gluten-free). The taproom plans to serve kombucha cocktails, floats, and flights and offer DIY kombucha and fermentation classes as well as yoga." - Beth McKibben

Kombucha Taproom Bringing Cocktails and Yoga to West End - Eater Atlanta

"Melanie Wade, owner of Golda Kombucha, has formed a fermented umbrella company she’s calling Cultured South. This also happens to be the name of Wade’s forthcoming kombucha taproom at the Lee + White development in West End. She plans to open the taproom and fermented products marketplace later this spring. Cultured South’s 6000-square-foot marketplace and production facility will include Wade’s popular fermented tea Gold Kombucha and Pure Abundance Cashew Cheese (raw, organic, dairy-, soy- gluten-free) along with other fermented products. The taproom will serve kombucha cocktails, floats, and flights and offer DIY kombucha and fermentation classes as well as yoga." - Beth McKibben

Google
Stumbled upon this place a couple months ago while looking for a place to kill some time and I have not stopped thinking about it since! The ambience was so cozy and classy. The whole place was beautifully decorated and curated with plants, art, and items for sale. I didn't look at the actual kombucha options, but everything on the food menu looked amazing and there were so many other types of drinks. I ordered a spicy turkey panini and an earl grey lavender tea. There was one girl working behind the counter who took my order, made it, and served it. I told her it was amazing and she said she made it with love, which I could tell <3 After hanging out and just enjoying the space, I hit Culture Shock for a show. Can't wait to come back and bring all of my friends!

Google
I absolutely love and recommend Cultured South!! We rented out the tap room and hosted a baby shower at Cultured South and had it catered by them. The sandwiches were absolutely delish! The all you can eat grazing board was perfect! And of course the Kombucha on tap was a hit! Love love love and 100000% recommend! The level of service we received was above and beyond our expectations! The environment and space was just lovely and exactly what the mom to be was looking for! Thanks Cultured South for the great memories you helped provide!

Google
I don’t typically leave reviews but I feel it needs to be mentioned that this establishment is EXCEPTIONALLY hot inside. I can’t even remember what I tried because I was so focused on how sweltering it was inside—which is problematic because Georgia gets incredibly hot in the summer. Also, because it has been raining so much, the humidity didn’t help. To be honest, I think it was hotter inside than it was outside. I felt guilty for ordering from the baristas. If I was that hot and I was only there for a brief moment, I can only imagine what it’s like for them working there and being there for entire shifts. I really don’t see myself returning. ):

Google
Cultured South is the cutest place! They have kombucha (you can also add CBD to it!) and art for sale! They have food too, but we didn’t order any. I tried the Lavender Lemon kombucha and it was delicious! Really easy to drink! It reminded me of a sour beer. My friends tried the Strawberry Mint and Blue-Grass CBD kombucha and they liked theirs too! Plenty of outdoor seating with some shade. Lots of space to socially distance. They have sanitizer and are wearing masks. If you like kombucha, highly recommend!

I've been wanting to come here for a while but needed someone who enjoyed Kombucha as much as me to go with me. For my birthday my friends came to Cultured South. I was surprised to see so many flavors. And the flavors were so unique. Lets just say...I tried most of them. LOL! Two of my friend had never had it before but found it tasty. My bestfriend and I love Kombucha so we tasted almost every flavor they had. They only reason we stopped is because we because full. The young man was extremely nice and offered me a mango ice cream for my birthday. And trust me...it did not disappoint. I enjoyed myself so much, I plan to return soon.

Google
Fun spot in same complex as Honeysuckle Gelato on one side, and patio seating facing the Beltline on the other. Got the flight of kombucha so I could try more flavors (5) - loved the Botanist’s Cream Soda so much I bought a growler of it to go. Proper set ups for social distancing with hand sanitizer at each entrance, staff all masked up, stylus pens for signing for cc payments sterilized after each use, so felt totally safe.

Google
I grew up in Atlanta and this place has rapidly become one of my favorites in the whole city. I didn’t even like kombucha before I came here, plus they have a CBD-infused option (which I get every time) and a menu of vegan foods (including this amazing hummus plate). There is plenty of seating indoor and out, right on the west end beltline. Love this place!

Google
I discovered Cultured South after trying CBD kombucha at a restaurant, which made me want to find other places that have it. I love kombucha, so I think it’s super cool that they exclusively serve it. There were a ton of flavors, and the person who served us was very helpful! They have a great offer available on Groupon, so I used it to get 4 drinks and 2 cans to go for less than $20! The offer is for regular kombucha, but you can just pay a $1.50 up-charge per drink to get it with CBD. I had the Blue-Grass CBD Kombucha and really liked it! Cultured South is located on the Belt Line next to a few other breweries, so it’s easy to walk over to other spots if you also want alcoholic drinks. They have a great outdoor seating area, and it’s clear they are serious about their Covid safety precautions with hand sanitizer available outside the entrances and signs requesting that it be used before entry. I look forward to coming here again!

Yelp
Love the parking!!! Can't enough of free parking! The place sits off in the cut near the Westside Atlanta Beltline. Its Huge warehouses that are split into 2 sides or 3 ..Retail, Food Hall and Office Suites. I like the airy open walls near the food hall. You got to check this spot out of in the area by the AUC and Lee street.

Yelp
There are a lot of businesses at Lee + White. When it is busy there are not many other places to park when the lots are full. I do want to return to the food hall because there were a lot of restaurant options and it took me a long time to decide which one to try. I like that the food hall has a lot of outdoor seating because the indoor seating is limited and was almost completely full on the day I visited. I also have been to Best End Brewing and Monday Night Brewery at this location.

Yelp
I absolutely love the revitalization of an old historic place into a place that can be used in our modern times (especially if it doesn't encroach on gentrification.) In this country, this usually does means that a warehouse has turned into a place to eat and/or drink. Lee + White is a gorgeous example of just that. I am not a local so I'm not sure if it gets a lot of traffic or not but it was pretty packed when we went on a Saturday night. Some of the outlying vendors were closed but the main buildings all had activity. The lay out of the place is very nice and the parking lot seems fairly large. I liked the amount of accessibility via foot traffic, as we came from the train station. There was also a cop waiting by the exit, I'm sure to make sure that there wasn't drunk driving happening. I appreciated that.

Yelp
Located on the Beltline's Westside Trail, Lee + White is a 426,000sq space home to native breweries, distilleries, and eateries including: -Monday Night Garage -ASW Distillery -Wild Heaven Beer -Cultured South Fermentation Co. -Boxcar at Hop City -Best End Brewing Co, and more... Lee + White used to be known as Warehouse Row since 1950s because they reuse brick warehouses for the businesses. This is such a cool concept, and it is like nothing I've seen before. I heard some people call it "Beer Town" and I thought it was great. This place is totally perfect for bar hopping, or just enjoy to taste new stuff. It is easily accessible from the West End MARTA Station, but there is PLENTY of parking as well.

Yelp
Lee + White has the potential to truly be authentic in how they serve the near by communities. But instead, they pretty much serve the same dishes at every establishment. The same thing I can buy at Boxcar, I could buy at Monday Night Brewing, and can order again at wild Haven. And you can tell that the food is catered to a certain kind of crowd (literally no flavor in ANYTHING). They really need to take a page from The Works ATL and have authentic establishments that bring different kinds of options, from Jamaican, to Mediterranean, to Asian cuisines! I should not be able to order a burger and fries at EVERY restaurant in that district.

Yelp
Maria O. gave an excellent review and even touched on some history. I agree that Lee & White is a cool concept and on the particular day that I was out there, there were vendors and live music to boot. Seeing as how I made my visit in Summer and hers was in Winter, I might dispute her parking assessment (Depending on when you go), as I had quite the challenge finding parking myself. I would also say that Vegetarians might find the pickings slim, but if you wanna drink - Oh boy!!!

Yelp
The Beltline is now studded with various industrial conversions that host diverse restaurants and breweries, but Lee+White is the best one of all. I live in Midtown and can easily access Ponce City Market and Krog Street Market, but not infrequently we pile into the car and drive to Lee+White. Lee+White has character. I have lived in Atlanta since the mid-90s, and back in the day many neighborhoods in Atlanta had character. They were not cookie cutter, they were diverse, they didn't ooze money, style-correctness, and political-correctness. Much as I love Midtown, its hipness is rather generic. The breweries, restaurants, and clientele at Lee+White are diverse, interesting, sexy -- you name it, and not because they are striving to be that, but simply because they are. It is the most racially-mixed place I know, but it is not as the result of affirmative action or liberal guilt; it is just because black and white people live in the neighborhood. The food and drink is very good. Monday Night Brewing has an amazing balcony and great beer. Wild Heaven has good pub food and great people watching. Boxcar is a bit fancier, and the food is excellent. The Balkan dining at Best End Brewery is delicious. The outdoor seating faces south, so even on a chill winter day you can dine outside in the sunshine. And the Beltline is right there, so if you are lucky you can get there by bike. This is not one of Atlanta's fanciest places, but it is one of the best.
