New Haven-meets-Neapolitan with creative toppings and a lively bar scene. Named Connecticut’s best slice by Food Network in 2025 and featured on Guy Fieri’s TV tour, it’s where locals go for the Honeypot and lunch slices on weekends.

Flexing that New Haven pizza muscle, the region must welcome the newest kid on the Block (at least new to me), Nolo.. This spot has easily entered the top five New Haven pizza places for me this year. Having visited their location a few times and also experiencing their pizza offsite. I will say this place is consistent and creative and absolutely delicious. Not only do they turn out some of the best New Haven style pizza, but their cocktails are top-notch as well. I don’t know if I have a pizza favor yet because every time I turn around there’s something new but stay tuned for an updated review if I can make up my mind in the future lol. Highly recommend visiting their location. It’s a cool vibe and you won’t be disappointed

Top 3 places for pizzas in New Haven. Most exotic in my opinion. Hot Honey was great added with goat cheese. My girlfriend really enjoyed her minestrone soup and berry salad.

Delicious pizza, great drinks, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend the honey pot, the pecora, and the fifth of may. Lots of seating and the food comes out quick. staff are also friendly and close by if you need something

First of all the vibe and atmosphere was great. Service was also good. The food however could use a little more flavor. Also, the eggplant small plate could be served in another dish. It was very tall and deep. Overall an okay experience.

Absolutely delicious pizza. Reasonable prices. Great service. Plenty of parking. The sourdough crust is so good and they are generous with the toppings.

Food: We ordered two (2) large pies. The first was Pepperoni and the second an Artisanal Honeypot (San Marzano tomato, sliced hot peppers, onions, Mozzarella, Soppressata, and Truffle Honey). Both pies were really good. Especially the Honeypot. Service: It was a pick-up order, but the short interaction with them it was a good one. Ordering online was also easy. Atmosphere: Great! I love everything about it. Value: I paid around $24 for Pepperoni and $32 for the Honeypot. They are both worth the price.

Delicious variety in pizza. We came about two hours before the kitchen closed. Couldn't decide on the pizza, ended up with a few big pins. We were a group of 7 - so full with leftovers towards the end of the night. Beautiful, big space with chill vibes. Worth the visit. Friendly service, huge parking lots, all payments accepted

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting our monthly “Slice Mob” gathering at Da Legna x Nolo on State Street in New Haven. This place is a delightful blend of modern design and old-school pizza-making charm. The high ceilings and open kitchen, featuring two wood-fired pizza ovens, create a spacious and inviting atmosphere. The aroma of freshly baked pizzas from the wood-fired ovens greets you like a long-lost friend as soon as you walk in. Our group of six, driven by hearty appetites, decided to order 11 pizzas. To be fair, we were hungry. This allowed us to sample a variety of flavors and still have some to take home. Our resident meatball aficionado, Steve, kicked things off with a meatball appetizer, as is his tradition. (He’s even considering starting a podcast called the “Meatball Minute.” But I digress…) The meatballs were tender and juicy, nestled in a pan of freshly made, perfectly seasoned sauce, accompanied by dollops of ricotta. They were a succulent prelude to the main event. As always, I began with the classic Ode to Flo pizza. The naturally leavened crust provided a subtle yet distinct flavor, offering a slight tang that elevated the overall taste. The sauce was fresh and perfectly seasoned, highlighting the natural sweetness of ripe tomatoes, complemented by the slight nuttiness of Parmigiano Reggiano. Perfection! Next up was the Broccoli Rabe and Sausage pizza with mozzarella—a white pie showcasing the same amazing crust. This combination of savory sausage, slightly bitter broccoli rabe, and creamy mozzarella created a harmonious trio in every bite. It’s a perfect melding of traditional Neapolitan style—naturally leavened, tender cornicione (crust) with a nice leopard-patterned char adding smoky notes—and New Haven style, characterized by a thin crust with minimal flop. Da Legna x Nolo has certainly earned a top spot on our list, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit.

Yelp
We've been to Nolo a few times. I went to Delegna for many years before the merge. I used to get the fig pizza (but then it was dollops and I think it was better). We've gotten a few other different pies and all of them have been good. We didn't get the crème brûlée and it definitely wasn't that lol. We didn't know hoax brewing inside so that was a pleasant surprise. It really is a great space and we've enjoyed all the people we've encountered there. We will be back many times.

Yelp
We are doing our rounds of the New Haven pizza places. Very nice pizza place. The restaurant is nice open and spacious, quaint with old fashioned booths. The place is much bigger and newer than the other pizza places we've visited in New Haven. I do like both ambiances, the old fashioned versus these newer types of places. Service was good and friendly and the food came of relatively quickly. We shared the cesar salad while we waited for our pizzas. The cesar salad was fine and dressing was not too heavy, although portions could have been a little bigger. Our group of 4 chose to eat vegetarian and vegan this day so we ordered 3 pies. Vegan choices were Salsaccia and Polpetta. With recommendation from our server, we ordered the honeypot with artichoke substituting the sopressato. The vegan in our group was satisfied with the choices, but we agreed it was not the best vegan pizza we have had. The vegan meatball bits were very good. The vegan cheese was just doesn't hold up to real cheese. The honeypot was delicious. It was very savory with the artichokes (replaced the sopresso), cheese, pepperocini, hot drizzled honey. I would definitely get the honeypot again. All are thin crust pizza and fairly large, so we had about 1/3 to take home. Very nice place and Worth the visit.

Yelp
Popped in here on the way home from Boston, and it was a worthwhile stop! The space itself is rather large, with outdoor seating as well as bar seats and tables. We sat at the bar and were welcomed right away from the friendly bartender. We ordered the clam pie and the margerita and added on peppers and spinach. The pies were delicious with a thin charred crust. We also ordered the ice cream sandwich for dessert and it was absolutely massive and worth sharing with someone. I would definitely come back here again the next time I'm in New Haven!

Yelp
This review is for the Hoax Brewery located in Da Legna at NOLO and NOLO. NOLO is a restaurant that is known for pizza. They make wood fired thin crust pizza; the type of dough they use is sourdough. The beer is brewed by Hoax Brewing and you can see the beer canisters when you first walk in. There is a parking lot and patio area. The restaurant was chic and trendy. We stopped in on a whim just to try the beers on a Saturda afternoon. The place was packed so it's best if you book reservations. Since we were only getting beer, they let us use the empty table up front. The hosts and servers were very nice and accommodating. I'm a sour beer fan so I tried two of the beers; 1. Raspberry toasted marshmallow sleight of hand: it has hints of raspberry, chocolate, and marshmallow; a very tasty beer! Definitely would order this again and loved the marshmallow flavor, it's unique when it's in beer format. 2. Tropic Thunder: it has notes of raspberry, pineapple, banana, and guava. It was good and reminded me of summertime. The pizza looked and smelled so good from afar but we were getting dinner elsewhere. Next time, I look forward to trying the pizza out!

Yelp
My daughter and I visited Nolo because we had heard so much about it. We entered the establishment and were seated right away. The service was a bit off initially, but our server was great. We ordered a Pepperoni pizza, which came out in about twenty minutes. The pizza was okay. The Pepperoni gave the taste of Ellio's pizza. The pizza had flopped, and the sauce was okay. The sauce had somewhat of a flavor but overall a basic regular sauce. I'm glad we got to try the pizza, and our server provided good service.

Yelp
Da Legna is sooo good, and more slept on compared to other New Haven pizza. I've never had to wait long to be seated and the menu is fun. I had the patate pizza and it was fantastic - the Gouda and corn made it so uniquely delicious. Inside is chill and laid-back and the booth is really comfortable. When folks ask me for my NH pizza option, I send them here. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Waaaaaay back when, I ate pizza at Da Legna at its old location. I had a favorable impression, but there's a lot of good pizza in the New Haven area and I live closer to Hartford. So years passed without me eating at Da Legna. All the sudden, I started seeing references to "Da Legna at Nolo" or "Da Legna x Nolo". Admittedly, I had no idea what was going on. What was Nolo? A Boutique Hotel? A bar? Another restaurant? And why was Da Legna at Nolo? Arms length business transaction? Corporate takeover? Happy coincidence? I visited today, and in case you're confused, here is what I have. Nolo is a modern "non-hotel" building, sort of near September in Bangkok. It used to be something called Jet Cleaners. Sounds like a dry cleaner, but I'm not that far into my investigation yet. Nolo houses both the re-located Da Legna pizza business and Hoax Brewing. Hoax Beers are served at Nolo. There is a bar. Two wood burning pizza ovens, plenty of seating. Table and bar service. And you can sit right in front of the open kitchen and watch them make pizza. Mystery solved. I ordered a Hoax "Sorry for the Delay" IPA (it was good) and a 16 inch The State, which was basically like a Supreme at a lot of places. Da Legna pizzas are made in wood burning ovens. Among the New Haven pizza places that people often talk about, Da Legna probably has the first or second chewiest and least crispy pizza. It's either Zeneli or Da Legna. Da Legna's crust also has char though. So it's sort of a New Haven and Neapolitan hybrid. The toppings were high quality. The mushrooms looked fresh. The pepperoni, bacon and sausage were tasty. The cheese was good. A good pizza, if you like a chewy and non-crispy crust. I liked this pizza. Service was friendly. The space was cool. I'm comfortable recommending Da Legna, but I prefer some other places in New Haven. 4.25 Stars

Yelp
We are vacationing nearby and decided we had to try New Haven apizza! We chose Da Legna x NOLO because they have wonderful gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and omnivore selections! They also offer several of their signature cocktails without alcohol if you prefer! Our party of five is made of gluten free omnivores, a gluten free vegetarian, a vegetarian, and an omnivore. All of us enjoyed our choices! We also tried a London Fog mocktail; it was delicious. We had a Clark St 16" pizza with eggplant, tomatoes, ricotta, and basil. It was a traditional New Haven apizza with several charred areas on the crust! Delicious! We also ordered a 12" gluten free Pecora with ricotta, carmelized onions, pistachios, and truffle oil! Magnificent! Our third pie was a Broccoli Rabe with sausage and cheese. Excellently tart and savory, showcasing both the broccoli rabe and the sausage. The gluten free among us are intolerant, not celiac. This is not a dedicated gluten free kitchen. BUT the crusts are made elsewhere in a dedicated gluten free kitchen. The staff are super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The ambiance is cool, with a relaxed vibe! The velvet semi-circular booth benches are so unique! The overhead lightening shaped lights are cool! The pies are reasonably priced, especially for their size and generous toppings! The pies appear on your table hot and fresh in mere minutes! Service is amazingly fast! Thank you so much to all the pizzaliers (pronounced like gondolier) working those white hot ovens!

Yelp
Stopped here on a recommendation from a family member who raved about their pizza. They weren't wrong! The pies were delicious with just the right amount of char. Amazing beers from NOLO on tap were an added bonus. The customer service was top notch from everyone we interacted with. And as if all of that isn't enough to convince you to go, they also have their own parking lot! A huge plus in New Haven.

Yelp
Good pizza, some stumbles with meatballs Was in the area for a test drive, and wanted some New Haven pizza. So came here out of all the pizza joints since they were doing thing's differently compared to the classics. Inside is very modern, lots of stone and wood accents. Server was green, but friendly. We got meatballs and a small pizza to share. We went as soon as they opened, and their Alfredo sauce didn't have any Parmesan. It was literally the base white sauce with no flavor. We had to return it because it was just severely lacking. The pizza made up for the meatball failure though. Good thin charred crust with plenty of toppings and strong complimentary flavors. The pizza was slightly underdone by the center, so there was tip sag. But the flavors were good. Price was reasonable, though the server did try to charge us for the meatballs. He was still learning though and he corrected it. Didn't see him talk to the kitchen though to inform them of the issue. It's good pizza at least, and a good representation of the New Haven new school. A good option if you're in the area

Yelp
1st time at this place. Pretty impressed by the place. Nicely decorated with a low lights vibe which seem perfect for a date or dinner put with a group of friends. Definitely ni e vibes. We had the pizza which I felt was more like 3.5 considering the pizza places around. With that said, the place, the service and location made it a place that will definitely visit again while in new haven.

Yelp
Great addition to the New Haven pizza scene. Loved the decor and music. Pizza and beer was on par with the other competitors in town. Service was wonderful and we will definitely be returning soon to try their other specialty beers and pizzas.

Yelp
Da Legna x Nolo is a great restaurant in the New Haven area. They had a lot of options for pizza and beer. It was flavorful! We visited for a family dinner and all of us enjoyed the food. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. The interior is lovely and feels open!

Yelp
Really good New Haven style pizza. There's lots of specialty toppings to choose from. Nice outside seating area. Mixed drinks were good. It's a family friendly restaurant. Parking on site which is helpful. Service was a little slow.
google avatar

Yelp
The pizza here is absolutely excellent including the clam pizza. Plus the crust isn't as burnt unlike the other pizza places around New Haven. I would really recommend this place if you are in the mood for pizza.

Yelp
Yet another solid pizza joint in New Haven, a city that is known for having delicious pizza. Thankfully I do not live here, or I would have serious health problems from all the arterial blockage because of all the cheesy goodness, like the blood in the streets that run through this town. Good pizza though. It is tasty and thorough and comes out very fast. It is amazing how much I can eat of this and still feel empowered afterwards. Fresh sauce, terrific sauce, and that soot on your hands from the pizza cooking. I looked like I just got out a tire shop with how much was on my hands. But I love it, I dig it. Da Legna gives a solid performance for a solid pie and would recommend it if you need a good New Haven pie. It is also by the train tracks so it is ideal for anybody looking for something to do if you have to wait. Yes, I am talking to you, railfans. Enjoy and partake and dig right in.

Yelp
It's a great pizza place. They serve delicious cocktails and pizza. This place is very uniquely decorated too. We ended up here for lunch with a group of friends after a mild Hike. I didnt really care for pizza because i really wanted to save my appetite for my craving of steak later on. My friends truly enjoyed their pizza tho. I ordered the arugula salad with aside of grilled chicken and that was amazingly good Definately a place to visit
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden gem in New Haven! The Honeypot pizza was absolutely amazing with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. We visited on a busy weekend afternoon and had to wait a while, but the pizza made it worth it.

Yelp
Craving some exceptional pizza, we visited Nolo for dinner and had an outstanding experience from beginning to end :-) Tip: The outdoor seating area is dog-friendly We started off with two appetizers - the Meatball and the Brussel Spouts. Both dishes were nicely executed, and helped set the stage for the main event - our pizzas! We shared two pies that night - the Napoli (Arugula, Burata Cheese, Prosciutto Di Parma, Parmesan Reggiano) and the Margherita (San Marzano Tomatoes, Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil, Garlic, EVOO). What makes or breaks a pizza for me is the crust, and Nolo's crust is absolutely delicious. It's crispy, thin, and not too dense, with just the right amount of chew; it's about as close to perfect as a pizza crust can get. The toppings are obviously good quality, generously applied, and the sauce has just the right amount of kick to it to compliment the toppings. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food and the service. Highly recommended!

Yelp
After a hike my friends and I stumbled upon Da Legna x NOLO and although we wanted steak we were not disappointed with what we ordered. We all love the velvet pink booth it definitely has a elegant vibe which I loved. Perfect spot for a date. Service was prompt and attentive. I got my water refilled multiple times which I appreciate. My sister and I shared a large figura pizza which its fig n prosciutto which is one-of my favorite sweet and salty combination. Would definitely go back when in a mood for good New Haven style pizza.

Yelp
Coming into this restaurant without expectations, I was impressed with the pizza and ambiance. Free and ample parking is another point in favor of this place. The service was good (although our server forgot to remove a returned item from the bill). The 3 pizzas that we ordered were all delicious - even the vegan pizza.
google avatar

Pooja A. V.

Yelp
Dare I say Da Legna is better than Modern???! The vibe inside is cool, kinda retro with the booths and then modern with the tables and bar area. Service is always great. Now as for the pizza - wow. The State is our go to. The cheese is always A1. They serve foxon drinks and the beer list is always updated. It's always a good time at Da Legna! Cheers!
google avatar

Kristin U.

Yelp
A departure from classic haunts like Modern, Sally's and Pepe's, yet Da Legna stands on its own. They've got mooz and plain, but also Broccoli rabe and sausage, plus some creative ones with truffle honey and ricotta. Also a couple of different salads to choose from (we had the arugula fennel), and sides including super savory meatballs. A great option when your party wants pizza and more.

Yelp
For some reason, I put off trying Nolo for a long time. We went a few weeks ago and it was really great. The restaurant itself is a huge open space that used to be a laundromat, which gives a cool industrial vibe. Their pizza is a little different than others in the area. The crust is extremely light and doesn't have a ton of chew. I think it's a matter of preference - I think it's really well done. I highly recommend the Honeypot. I'd like to try more, but the honeypot is just so good I can't bring myself to order anything else.

michael t.

Yelp
First off; Da Legna's crust has a great char and it's chewy with a light airy crisp. And of course this pizza is supposed to be New Haven style, and it looks New Haven style, but it bites like a neapolitan pie. With that said, those were the good points. The negatives: The sauce itself was very blaise, and the sausage tasted downright hideous! However, the pizza was piled with a copious amount of motz. Overall, I was really looking forward to this pizza, and I was pretty optimistic I wasn't going to be disappointed, but alas, I was... gravely. On the brightside: The service was quick and the receptionist was pleasant, bubbly and jovial. She was a really nice young lady that deserves a pay raise. Anyway, the next time I feel like stopping in, I'll order pepperoni instead. That's a review.

Robin M.

Yelp
We had the meat pizza and there was barely any meat. The pizza lacked favor. The arugula and fennel salad was a disappointment. Where was the fennel? There were a few shaved pieces of fennel. Way too much salad dressing. The dressing over powered the arugula. It looks to be a great place to go for drinks and maybe we did not order the best food. The waitress who was nice was not able to navigate us through the menu.

Yelp
Hands down my favourite pizza place in NHV. All of their pizzas are so amazing. I have been here too many times to count since the past few months since discovering them this past summer. For me personally, I don't like my pizzas super burnt - I like them cooked well enough that it won't flop without it being burnt. And Da Legna's pizza is like that. I think I have tried half their menu so far and they've all been good. I especially love the Honeypot and the Capricciossa. A plus for me - they have vegan pizza! I have a few vegan friends so it is always awesome to come here with them. Plus - their vegan pizza is also really good?? Would highly highly recommend!!

Yelp
fantastic place. The food came out quickly and the outdoor seating was a nice touch. The sourdough pie was fantastic and everything was fresh and delicious. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages, but the pizza was definitely recommended.

Yelp
An update since I've been the restaurant a half dozen times now. I come here with a big group of musicians from the non-profit New Haven Chamber Orchestra after our concerts in the area. This place not only has a large parking lot with easy access to the highway, but also is open rather late compared to lots of other restaurants so they have been our destination of choice over the past few years. Service has always been excellent, and they've gone above and beyond to keep our massive part of 20+ people together. We've been able to make a reservation each time, and we're grateful for the exceptionally helpful staff. I've warmed up more to their pizzas after having tried more of them. The Hot Honey pizza is currently my favorite, with a combination of sweet honey and spiced meats. For meat lovers, it is the appropriate choice! As a constrast, the Funghi pizza is also delightful, and just packed with umami flavor. I appreciate that there is a gluten-free crust option for my friends with that dietary restriction; just note that it pales in flavor to the regular crust. Again, the cheesecake is a must have; I try to order it every single time I go. My only criticism would be that they really ought to offer a couple more appetizer or small plate options on their menu, especially as pairings with their extensive beer choices.
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
A twist between Neapolitan and New Haven style pizza, De legna serves up upscale pies in an elegant setting far distinct from Wooster street. We were excited to try De Legna, but were not impressed by the service. Given by the small crowd the night we visited (as pictured), it took close to 30 minutes for our cocktails to be prepared and our food ordered. The ambiance is fun, the pizza is solid, and it is definitely a fun place to try. However, given our about average experience, we likely would choose other nearby pizzerias before returning.
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
Vegan pizza! We were very happy with the two pizzas we ordered. We got the Giardino and Pollo. Not our favorite vegan cheese or vegan meat options, but when away from our usual spots we are not as picky. The vegetables all tasted fresh and the crust was really good! My photos do not do it justice! The lighting was bad, trust me it looked and tasted so much better
google avatar

Diane J.

Yelp
I think Da Legna is easily a top contender for the best pizzas in New Haven. Their Honeypot is one of my favorites of all time. It's made of tomato, sliced hot peppers, mozzarella, dried meat, and drizzled with truffle honey. The Pecora is an amazing vegetarian (or dessert) pizza, made with goat cheese, ricotta, pistachios, and truffle honey. The State is a meat lover's dream with pepperoni, meatballs, bacon, sausage, pepper, onion, garlic, and mushroom. They also have standard pies such as Margherita, as well as vegan dining options. However, their service has been rather inconsistent. I'd often come in small groups for dinner, and there were two separate meals in which we had to actively flag down a waiter to take down our orders after waiting for an extended period.

Yelp
Updating my review from a year and a half ago :). I haven't been to NOLO since then so when my friend suggested we grab pizza and a drink, I was all for it. We got here around 3pm and we were the only patrons. We sat at the bar where we were served by the super sweet bartender. I got a 16in pie with three toppings; spinach, caramelized onions and truffle honey. The pizza was so delicious that I suggested they add it to their menu and name it after me haha. Can't wait to go back. Sn: I wish they had happy hour :/

Yelp
Mediocre would compliment these pies tonight. Not sure what happened here and if tonight was the norm. May come back but not eat the pizza.

Yelp
Came here before a flight out of Tweed for my first true New Haven pizza experience and it did not disappoint. I was worried we were going to need a reservation, but we were one of the only people in the restaurant upon walking in on a Saturday afternoon. They had a nice patio outside and super nice decor inside. Service was great as was the food. We ordered the figura. SO delicious and the flavors all paired well together. Only complaint is that I wish there had been more Gorgonzola on the pizza, but still very tasty! There is also a free parking lot here - I wish I knew before going. I paid to park at a nearby lot. I noticed they had a ton of vegan options. Not my preference, but I was impressed with the options. A couple of drawbacks - the menu is very limited. ONLY pizza. No apps or pizza alternatives. A little pricey as well, $29 for a pizza was a bit steep. Worth it in my opinion, but just as a rare treat. Overall a great experience and I would definitely come back!!
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Good pizza and nice place. The honeypot is a unique pie that this place is known for, but to me it seemed a little too chaotic on the tastebuds. I'm a classic kind of pizza guy so the fact I'm not drooling at this sort of pie makes sense. Nevertheless, it's worth a try and aside from that they have many other great options. Cool place.

Yelp
The Artisanal pizzas are Amazing!!! That pretty much sums it up, but I will continue on for the sake of this Yelp review... Just as described "artisanal" with the perfect balance of ingredients and well thought out flavor combinations. I love the fresh ingredients. I noticed that the small pizzas sometimes come out a little more charred. I dont have favorites here, I have pizza moods and I'm slowly working my way through the entire menu. Lol Perfect for a first date or a night out with friends! Love the openness of the kitchen, seeing the stoves and watching the pizza chefs work their magic. They also offer outdoor seating. Service is great! Attentive, but not overbearing! Yes it costs a little more, but it is definitely money well spent. If you come here and try just the basic pizzas, you will still enjoy, but you will be definitely cheating yourself!

Marie C.

Yelp
I was a long time customer for years, but as of today NEVER again. Ordered 2 large pies, both pizzas were wrong. When I called to address the issue, the staff was down right disrespectful and pretty much said it's not their problem and laughed in my face. Mistakes happen, but there's no excuse for down right rude customer service. Absolutely unacceptable--I'll be making sure others know exactly how they treat their customers.

Yelp
Not your typical "new haven pizza" vibe but definitely a modern vibe, more so for a younger crowd, at least at the time I was there. I had no idea this place existed, just happened to stumble upon it. Saturday night was busy although our wait was only 20 minutes. We did wait awhile after being seated for our waitress to come. We split a small pizza which was enough for us who were each averagely hungry. We ordered the Rosemarino pizza - potatoes, chicken, onions and mozz, and it lacked flavor, unfortunately it tasted bland and I had higher hopes for it.

Yelp
Fantastic New Haven style pizza - delicious mix of the thin crust of NY style with a pillowy texture and wood fire taste of Neapolitan style! I would argue one of the better tasting and less burnt pies to get in nhv. We got a small honey pot pizza that was the perfect mix between sweet and savory as well as a small mushroom pizza that had the right cheese to mushroom ratio. There was enough pizza for leftovers between two people. I wish there were more options besides pizza. Overall, they have a great space for a first date or a group hangout with friends with spacious booths and bar area. The service was attentive with servers refilling water without asking and food coming out pretty quickly. Food: 4.75/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service:4/5

Yelp
Hhhmmm, high stars for the chic new locale with its own parking on the outskirts of town with easy access to 91 and patio seating. Negative stars for being in disgusting New Haven with Skull & Bones, Illuminati family sacrifices and worship to the Black Sun. But at least the new local has you on this outskirts and not in the cauldron of the dark energy and you get to leave quickly on i91. Great selection of vegan pies. It's super awesome to have a dedicated section and not just an afterthought. Sad the original Da Legna, which was one of the most amazing restaurants ever, is gone to be replaced by pizza pies only. Da Legna was such an innovator back then. A place I'd go far out of my way to frequent. Maybe this new locale will slowly add some of those amazing apps and dishes they use to offer. Pizza only, I'm not sure I'd return and go to Modern or State Street instead. My vegan sausage and mushroom pie was only okay and I do agree with the other vegan reviewer that kinda not worth the higher prices overall. I didn't love the "cheese" used - maybe check out those vegan girls over in Branford that make vegan cheese so well it tastes beyond decadent and real.

Yelp
Margherita pizza is wonderful! Amazing marinara sauce that the whole family will love. My second favorite is the mashed potato pizza. This restaurant has great fluffy pizza crust, highly recommend!

Yelp
This place has a parking lot on the left side of the building. When you walk in it smells outstanding and the aesthetic is great too. We got a small cheese pizza and the cheese was great but I think there was too much sauce since the cheese was all sliding off. The crust is not really thin style like around either but still good. Not the best pizza in New Haven but still a solid place to sit down and have a good meal.

Yelp
They should've stayed next to modern parking was easy. They were open during the day and the pizza oven was fantastic.

Yelp
Based strictly on a plain pie here versus Sally's or Pepe's, I'd choose the latter, but the pies here are still excellent. We had a plain and also the one with the bbq pork, mashed potatoes and corn. Both were delicious. The guys manning the desk and making the pies are fantastic as well. Really really like this place. Nice decor too. And much quicker than the others. Definitely a very good alternative to the name brands, and you're not losing out by choosing NOLO over the apizzas.

Yelp
Appetizers were sufficient for a dinner and all were delicious! The vegetarian pasta fagioli was a huge bowl , served piping hot and a great balance of beans and dialing, the fennel arugula salad was so fresh and the eggplant rollitini was great- that would have been plenty for the three of us, but had to order their arugula and burrito pizza which was really yummy! Very friendly service and well priced-

Yelp
A solid choice for a less crowded pizza experience...but not taking a place on the New Haven pizza hitlist. The honest reason we ended up here was not wanting to wait in line in the rain at a certain pizza spot down the street. The pizza here is very good with a light dough, a bit of flop in the middle common to style, and high quality ingredients. The topping options and combinations are top notch. The style is more Neapolitan compared to its neighbors but that's not a bad thing. We enjoyed the Funghi and the Patate pizzas, with split decisions on which was better. The Funghi had mushrooms, burrata, ricotta, tarragon, and truffle oil but somehow fell short on the mushroom taste. We could see the mushrooms (our guess was shiitake mushrooms based on the looks, which is weird) but wished for more "mushroom-iness?" Still a good pizza. The Patate was mashed potato, spinach, bacon, Gouda, and, a surprise ingredient, corn. This was very good, mostly due to the amount of bacon, but we agreed the corn was a bit much. Very good pizza, and probably the best of the two. Overall, I think we'd go again but tough to follow through on that with more iconic, and well-earned, reputations for pizza so close.
