The staff was nice, polite and very helpful. We had a party of 18 for a birthday celebration. The food was good. Nice atmosphere. The chef came to say hello which was really nice. I will definitely be going back.

If you are visiting Houston and do not mind spending a little more on a fine meal, visit Davis’s St at Hermann Park! This was my first time visiting while in the area and I was impressed ! From the waiter to the food, it was a memorable experience. There was a special going on so we got a three course meal for $55. I had the Korean beef wraps, which were good although I prefer more sauce, then I had the pork chop dinner which was perfect … absolutely perfect; flavorful, hot, and a hearty pork chop. My table also ordered the fried rice hopping John (oh my gosh!, it was so good!) and the Mac -n-cheese (best Mac I’ve had at a restaurant in a LONG TIME). For dessert I had the key lime cheese cake, I was so full I couldn’t finish dessert. I will Most definitely be back!

Thanksgiving dinner was so good, we came back for Friday Happy Hour & dinner. So good! DeMar makes a great margarita & anything else we like. Crab cake & sticky ribs at happy hour were tasty & good sized portions. Moved to our reserved table for dinner with Quintus as our server. Had the halibut with crab over orzo pasta in a perfect sauce for dinner. We chose the whipped potatoes & charred Brussel sprouts with bacon & onions for sides. Portions are family style & would serve at least 3 people. The appetizer was the Crispy Thai Shrimp that has just the right sweet & spicy chili sauce. The shrimp are large, dressed with Cole slaw & comes with 3 but you can add as many as you like, if you want to have it for a main course. Priced accordingly. So full we skipped dessert tonight but the coconut cake & Mike high lemon pie from last night were epic. Chef Holley & his team are very friendly & offer top notch cuisine.

Beautiful venue. Great customer service - gave me a call within 24 hours after my inquiry, accommodated large parties with ease, sweet touch with complementary glasses of champagne and dessert for my birthday. I was impressed with the backstory and history of the dessert. Food - Brunch. 10/10 southern, cajun comforts. Everything was finely executed and the flavors were there. Majority of my guests saw crab topped oysters on a no longer offered menu, but the chef made it happen! 🧑🏾‍🍳💋 Thanks again Davis Street for helping make my birthday one to remember. We’ll be back.

Such an upscale soul food experience. This is my 3rd time coming to what I consider a locals steak house staple. We make the 45 min drive because of it. My only complaint is it took an hour for our food to arrive on a Saturday evening. This is prime dinner time and hopefully in the future the food to table time won’t be as long. Especially for a $200 bill.

I look forward to visiting Davis St. again with my daughter. I absolutely love the aesthetic and presentation of the food. The server was so patient and suggested what we should try, and he was right. The dessert was sooo good .. my taste buds are jumping at the thought ♡ ♡

Wow!!! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and were blown away by the service and incredible flavors of the food. They also have sommelier on staff. Best restaurant in Houston! Must try!

Went here for my graduation dinner. Love that its black owned, well maintained, and an elegant atmosphere. The service was great for my party of 10. The food was delicious but the menu was small. The drinks were good but not strong enough AT ALL. I had several drinks and did not feel a thing. Overall, i do recommend and would return.

Davis St is such an amazing establishment with great food and a beautiful atmosphere. Service was spectacular thanks to our server Quinton. Appetizers and drinks were some of the best we've had. Disappointing experience!!! Having dined at Davis Street multiple times, I have come to expect good, quality food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit fell short of these expectations. The Thai shrimp was overcooked, the cabbage slaw was excessively mayonnaise-laden, and the breading on the shrimp detached easily. The cocktail I ordered suffered from an unbalanced flavor profile, with cinnamon dominating the other ingredients and yielding a medicinal taste. To make matters worse, the service was lacking as "VIP's" were seated ahead of us in well-lit desirable areas, despite our earlier arrival. We were eventually seated in a poorly lit corner, at which point I expressed my dissatisfaction and we were moved to a well-lit corner. The entire experience was thoroughly disappointing and I will not return. Houston has many outstanding restaurants where the food is consistently great and guests are treated with respect.

After Brew at the Zoo my boyfriend and I popped in for dinner. We have been meaning to try it out so we thought it was the perfect time! We came around 8:30 on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy. We were able to be seated a tall table in the bar area. Our server, Benjamin, was so kind and very knowledgeable about the menu. We did the $50 per person Saturday menu! It was a TON of food and we took a lot home! It was all pretty good a little bland on some of the meats but the skirt steak stole the show and the sides were chefs kiss! We ended with 3 different deserts and all were very different. Our favorite was the coconut cake!!! We can't wait to return with our families!

Houston restaurant week review: Food: 1st course-- Korean beef wraps: 5/10, could use a sauce or something to juice it up. Meat is well seasoned. 2nd course-- Shrimp& grits: 7.4/10, the shrimp tastes like the sea (iykyk) but everything else was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed & the peppers were a perfect addition. Mama's Buttermilk Biscuit w/Pepper jelly: 10/10! Bread pudding: 7.6/10 Drinks-- South Eastern 75': yummy! Espresso martini: 10/10!

Best happy hour especially on Thursday in the city.... You won't be disappointed and the atmosphere feels cheerful and welcoming

I have been here for brunch and dinner. The first experience was a 10/10. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for this past Friday. The hostess made a huge ordeal about my friend not responding to a text about the table. There were only two other tables of guests so I'm not sure what the issue was. Once we were sat the linen had multiple gnats on our table; too many to count. We were moved to a second table that was gnat free but the wine glass had another insect in it. To be honest we began to question if we should dine here. After reassurance from the staff that the kitchen was in fact clean we decided to stay. The food was good especially the rolls, shrimp and gumbo. The gumbo had the most tender pieces of duck and I'm definitely craving more writing this. Q was a phenomenal server!! Make sure to ask for him

Chef Mark Holley is a man that knows his craft. We were regulars at his namesake restaurant, Holley's up until closure. Located near Hermann Park, Davis Street is unassuming yet inviting. Street parking is available around the area. Now for the visit itself. Food / Drink - 5* We came here for Houston Restaurant Week on this particular visit and the dishes did not disappoint. The Seafood Tortilla Soup had a nice kick and good portions of seafood. The salad was light and refreshing with fresh strawberries. The Korean Beef Wraps were a surprise, but the table enjoyed them. For entrees, the French Toast and Southern Egg Benedict did not disappoint and the chicken and waffles were killer. Definitely recommend any of them with a lean to the chicken and waffles. The drinks were great, albeit classics. The Bloody Mary was delicious with celery, olives, lime, and bacon. Service - 2* Here's where the entire visit fell short. From the jump our waiter was just extra pushy on upsells to the point we were all annoyed. The Bloody Mary states it comes with Texas Vodka. I said something to the effect of, "I'm good with what's listed on the menu, nothing extra needed." I reiterated, if Tito's is the Texas Vodka, great, but made it clear I was fine with regular whatever "Texas Vodka" they were using. He upcharged me for Tito's. The same for the other patrons in our party. They all were content with regular wells, but he twisted their arms to a point they felt uncomfortable saying no. When two others ordered another French 75 and made it clear to him "bottom shelf" or wells was more than fine, he still charged them for Hendricks. Look, nobody is unwilling to pay for something they want or drank, but don't push it or overtly go out of your way to charge for something the patron clearly doesn't want. We were all charged an upsell for every single cocktail because of his shady a$$ practices. Furthermore, the waiter seemed annoyed when we didn't say yes, but yet, we were still charged for it. He seemed to be disappointed when we didn't ALL order desserts (we were quite full so we split). Further, we were constantly having to ask for more water. And to top if off, we asked him to split the bill at the beginning and he did not. Atthe end, he seemed very annoyed he had to split it up. At the end of the day, we drank the cocktails so we'll pay it, but it isn't what we asked for in most cases. As some who have read my reviews know, I came from this industry, worked in it for years in both front and back side of the house, it put me on the path I am and paid many a bills for me - the worst thing a waiter can do to boost their total bill is pushy upsells. It completely ruins the experience, it makes the patrons less likely to return, and ultimately, that is bad for everyone. Chef Holley has a fantastic restaurant, but we were all left with hesitancy to return if this is the type of practice that exists. Cost - 4* The pricing for the regular menu was in line to what one would expect, and of course HRW menu is fixed pricing, with a few extras for specific dishes. Subjectively, no complaints here. Notably, we were charged 20% gratuity for a table of five. Not the end of the world, but my experience is this is usually reserved for 6 and up. It was particularly frustrating given the experience we had with the waiter. If I could have, I would have deducted solely for his behavior, which is on him exclusively. Overall - 3* Davis Street is another creation that delivers on flavor, Chef Holley and his team know what they're doing and it's evident in the sustained success he's had. That said, our experience fell short on service and left a damper on it, particularly since it was a birthday celebration as well. I would like to think this is an exception to the norm and maybe our waiter is just in it for himself rather than the business, but that ultimately hurts the business owner. Would I race back, probably not because of the experience but we would come back and explicitly seek another server.

Visited here for a birthday HH. Our server Jen was very sweet, attentive and HILARIOUS. She provided great recommendations and gave us ease when there was mishaps regarding our food timing. For drinks, I ordered the Jenn's Martini and while it was good, I was very disappointed with how long it took the bar to make our drinks. We waited about 30 minutes for our first round, with spike of our food coming out before our drinks. There was only one bartender, but the restaurant was fairly empty so we did not understand the delay. Jen stepped in and was able to assist with making sure we received our orders and our concerns heard. For the table, we nibbled on the Birria Grilled Cheese, Beef Sliders, Crispy Thai Shrimp (our fave!) and Charbroiled Oysters. All of the food was good, just wish the timing was more quick.

Delicious drinks and food. The waiter moved a tad bit slow which held us up, but everything else was phenomenal!!!

The service was amazing our waiter was wonderful and patient with us. The food was delicious very flavorful and fulfilling I enjoyed every bite. The cake was sinful omg so moist and delicious, my drink the old fashioned they were not stingy at all on the alcohol had me feeling good, good in a nice way. The ambiance was romantic and the soft music playing set the vibe, I look forward to coming back and trying some else on the menu I 100% recommend this restaurant.

I absolutely enjoyed my experience at this amazing restaurant for New Year's Eve. From the wonderful hospitality, lively playlist, and delicious food, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a premier dining experience. I ordered the shrimp from the appetizer portion of the menu and a side of caramelized vegetable. The shrimp was so delicious I almost placed another order. The shrimp were large and the flavor was divine. The caramelized vegetables were perfect to create my own meal. After much discussion with a friendly waitress, I decided to order dessert. Each dessert has a recommended wine which pairs perfectly with each dish. I typically do not eat bread pudding, but the presentation of this dish made me very curious to see how it taste. The apple crumbs paired with the ice cream and caramel drizzle was everything I didn't know I needed. The staff at this restaurant has an unmatched hospitality. Chef Holley, executive chef, is incredibly friendly and he ensures his customers are having an elevated dining experience. I can't wait to return for one of their weekday specials.

Decided to take a break from our usual brunch buffet and try this prefixed menu for NYE. It did not disappoint...our waitress Gina was awesome. She even got the heat cranked up for us, to make sure we were comfortable. Apps: Victorias Salad and Mezcal Seafood Entree: Lamb chops and blackened gulf fish Dessert: Coconut cake and Texassippi mud parfait You start with fresh warm biscuits. They come with a chili jam that's the right amount of sweet heat. We loved everything and will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Enter freely, but make a reservation for large parties...they've been approved

Every time I come here. I'm never disappointed. We made a stop to grab a bite before another engagement and they were really accommodating with seating is a hit before our reservation time. Staff was very attentive. Our waitress was great. And was very attentive and knowledgeable about recommendations. The food as always was delicious!

Came to Davis Street for Valentine's Day. Had reservations at 9 PM, unfortunately, it was moving a little slower, but that's to be expected as it's a major holiday for couples, and this place is really cute! The ambience is definitely there, they played really great music all night, oldies, and new school, R&B, which was such a vibe. Loved the wine wall, and there appeared to be a fully stocked bar. After about a 20 minute wait we were seated and unfortunately they only offered two menus tonight. One of the menus was $165 per person and the other was $95 per person. The Texas Barada that was chosen was definitely not my favorite. I didn't get a picture, but, taste wise it just wasn't up to par for me. Then we got to choose two appetizers. I chose the crispy shrimp and the oysters with caviar. Both were pretty good, I would give them 7/10 for taste. And we chose the snapper to share, which was absolutely delicious. The skin was clear to perfection and flaky, crispy and extra tasty. Then we chose the chocolate trio for two. We were a little disappointed to see that some of the selections that others had were not the same selections that we received. Cons: the wait time was crazy. We came in at 9pm & didn't get our last dish until 11:15pm BUT I did speak with the manager who was extremely empathetic. He mentioned that tables were added for the event, lots of reservations, a lot of hustle & bustle but he was definitely understanding. I appreciated his transparency and because of that I'll be back. I'm interested to try their crab deviled eggs. Another thing I wasn't a fan of though, they stated that there was a strictly enforced, business casual dress code but upon arrival that wasn't the case. People came in whatever they wanted which was Jordan's and jeans Overall though, I'll be back. It seemed like it could've been a great experience so I'm definitely willing to give them another chance.

I've always wanted to enjoy a meal at Davis St, but never had the opportunity to go. So, I rounded up the girls and we decided to enjoy an evening dinner here. Parking was pretty decent but I can see how it can become a hassle due to the restaurant's location. Lucky for me, we came during the week, and it really allowed our waiter, Elias, to spend a few extra moments with our table explaining and offering some great food/drink suggestions. Since we came during "Houston Restaurant Week," I was able to indulge in some great dining options while also being budget friendly. I have nothing but high regards for this restaurant and want everyone to give it a try. With great food, service, and ambiance, this place is a true Houston treat! This is actually my second time dining here and each time it's been an exceptional experience We started the night with appetizers crispy Thai bacon-wrapped shrimp and grilled oysters in a garlic scampi sauce it was amazing. The next course we had a 3lb whole fried red snapper the was cooked to perfection. Our entree was garnished with greens and rice. I almost for got the shrimp and fried oyster gumbo it was really good too. We followed that up with dessert a turtle mud pie and a slice of key lime cheesecake. The service was excellent the waiter truly earned his tip. He was hands on with everything we needed. The restaurant was very classy and elegant beautifully decorated. Light r&b music was playing which was very nice. The five stars are well deserved great job Davis street.

We were in town for 48 hrs for Beyoncé concert and wanted to do a cute dinner. We found this black owned gem on TikTok. Here are my thoughts: Location: Easy to get to. Quick 5-7 minute Uber. The decor was very nice and it's white table cloths Parking: N/A We ubered Service: we made reservations, and there was no wait time - we were sat immediately. The service was top notch, not one dirty plate left on the table. Ambience/Crowd: it's a very professional crowd, great for a date night or girls night out. Food/drink : 6/10 We had the wine flights to drink, oysters - good but a bit salty, my friend had the Cornish hen - she said it was ok she didn't finish it. I had the lamb chops - they were ok. The star of the evening was the bread! We didn't order it and were told it was complimentary but it was on our bill it was delicious!!! Will I be back? I would go back if I lived closer.

My first spot on my Houston Restaurant Weeks tour (HRW) and this place did not disappoint. The food and my server were amazing! This would be a good date night or special occasion restaurant. They place some R&B (yes I had mini karaoke breakouts) but it wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear your conversations. It did take a few minutes to be acknowledged and seated when I walked in because there wasn't a hostess at the door. That was the only negative I can say about this place. Everything else about my dining experience was on point. I was greeted by my server and he went over menu options. They are currently participating in HRW where you get a 3 course dinner starting at $55 (there's some up charges on a few items). First, that Island Spice cocktail is strong! The smokiness of mezcal did over power the fruitiness of the drink just a tad but was a good drink still. I chose the gumbo for appetizer. I would have preferred a thicker roux but the flavor was good! For entree, my friend and I did the up charge for the Thai Snapper for Two. That fish was delicious! It came with rice and greens on the side. The skin was crispy and there was a lot of meat. It was more than enough for the two of us and was able to take a good amount home. To complete my meal, I had the coconut cake for dessert and it was yummy! It was also a good portion so I took some home. Throughout our meal we were checked on by our server frequently. I left very satisfied with this meal and dining experience.

This place is buuusy, and deservedly so! Please note that you will likely need a reservation and there is a business casual dress code. I went during brunch for Houston Restaurant Week Menu. For the first course, I selected Honey Yogurt Granola Parfait. The taste was a bit of a mixture between some bitterness/tanginess from possibly the blood orange or mint plus sweetness from the honey. They were generous with the amount of berries, so overall . For the second course, I selected Airline Chicken and Waffle. One of the best chicken and waffle I've had! The serving is large, and I enjoyed the pairing between slightly spicy collared greens, crispy and tender chicken, sweet potato waffles, and two quail eggs. Hope you come with a large appetite! For the third and last course, I selected the Velvety Key Lime Cheesecake while my friend went with their famous Down South Coconut Cake, and we then shared the two. The key lime cheesecake was leaning on a bit too sour, and the coconut cake had a bit of a strong rum taste. I enjoyed tasting both, but not memorable enough to make me return. The service during the dining experience was nice and quick, but I would advise for more attention to the cleanliness of the utensils/napkins.

My wife and I visited this wonderful restaurant on September 21st to celebrate our 39 wedding anniversary. Chef Holley and staff did not disappoint. He came to our table to greet us and personally selected our menu items by combining THREE different entries into ONE. The chicken, steak, and red snapper (and gumbo & salad) were outstanding. The staff service was excellent, but the surprise of the night was the R&B 70's and 80's music. It was 'off the chain'. It felt like we were at a concert made for one. 5 stars!!!!!!

Hidden Gem Experienced for the 2nd Time! Amazing Food and Service! Our waiter Quentin was top notch. He sold the menu which prompted us to order ALOT of food !The music was amazing and an appropriate sound level. Mo at the bar was great as well. We also ordered Thai Shrimp Starter and for drinks sir Lance A lot ( a must try for infused bourbon) and island spice which are not pictured.

Such a grown and sexy vibe. Great service, very clean. I love the brussel sprouts and jumbo Thai chili shrimp. It's so good I haven't tried much else on the menu because I'm so addicted to the flavors that those two items pack. The Brussels are sweet and have a slight kick to them and the shrimp is also sweet and a little tangy, not overwhelmed with sauce but just enough to keep the shrimp crispy. Highly recommend

Experienced Houston Restaurant Weeks brunch at Davis St.. The service was great with a friendly waiter. The food did take a bit longer to come out but I was part of a group of 6 so I understand that it may take a bit longer. Overall worth the HRWs price to spend brunch time with my gals, especially because we shared the desserts. Note that 20% tip is auto added to the bill. -------------- FOOD My appetizer was the Korean beef wraps. Tasted delicious but I wished it was a little bit bigger/more. My entree was the Ultimate French Toast. That was a delicious balance of savory and sweet. The spices apple with the cream and then the kick of heat with the sausage. It was really good. Then came the dessert which we all shared so I was able to taste all three. -The best dessert hands down was the velvety key lime cheesecake. Was sweet and tart and it was fun seeing and tasting the different textures they used the ginger beet for as decor. -The coconut cake was okay. A little too dry and dense for me. And you can really taste the bourbon/alcohol flavor. -My least favorite would have to be the mud pie. The chipotle in the mousse was too strong - I could feel it in my throat. I would have liked it more than the coconut cake if it didn't have the crazy strong hit of chipotle.

Ladies and Gents, I started with a Seafood Mezcal. This is an awesome seafood salad that has flavor in every bite. Then I had a Grilled Gulf Fish plate. The fish folks was seasoned very well with some greens that was off the chain good! It also came with some rice with a well seasoned sauce on top. Every bite had flavor. The service was on point, they kept checking in to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was perfect for one on one talk or in a group. You have to drop in here and enjoy!

This was my very first time visiting Davis Street and I have an interesting experience to share. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was decent, although there were a few areas that could be improved upon. Upon ordering, I tried their chargrilled oysters. The first set with some oysters slightly burnt, which was disappointing. However, the second set redeemed the experience as they were cooked to perfection, although they were a bit drowned in sauce. A suggestion for improvement would be to use a little less sauce next time to let the natural flavors shine through. Moving on to the drinks, the bartender crafted a delicious old fashioned, showcasing their skill and expertise. However, I noticed that the staff could have been more attentive to the customers. RJ was very attentive, Jen I assumed was just super busy. Very nice but wasn't the most attentive however the drinks they made were great. One aspect that left me wanting more was the limited menu offerings. I was only presented with the bar and drink menu upon sitting at the bar. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to offer the full menu to all guests, regardless of where they are seated. Overall, despite a few hiccups, the restaurant showed promise, and with some adjustments, it has the potential to become a favorite spot for many.

From the moment my mother and I walked in, we were greeted with amazing service! It was my mother's 79th birthday, and they treated us with such grace the entire time. Kevin, the assistant general manager and sommelier was very friendly and our waitress Jasmine had such a great energy and light about her. As a black woman, it was so refreshing to support a black-owned business that lives up to the fine dining high quality experience! Top-tier service and cuisine! We had the whole fish platter with snapper, kimchi collard greens and fried rice and it was excellent! The ambiance was amazing! I'll definitely be back to check out their happy hour.

Came for a Wednesday Wine Down with my babes ! Service - amazing. Our waiter was able to answer any questions that we had. Drink- I tried Island Spice & the Touch of Class wine flight. Pretty good and no complaints there Food- we started out with the house rolls. Now I definitely miss when restaurants used to give free bread without hesitation but not complaints with Davis just because i enjoyed the spreads that accompanied the rolls. I enjoyed the scallops while My friends enjoyed the scallops. We had no complaints about our entrees. Overall- nice date night or intimate setting to dine at.

So I have to say that I came here with a group of friends for Houston Restaurant Week in celebration of new business opportunities. We came on a Sunday, September 1, to be exact, and I was surprised that this establishment was operating with no air conditioning. It was very hot, and there were fans all over the place trying to keep the temperature down. The food was okay, but it's very hard to enjoy your meal when it is uncomfortably hot. The service was not as fast as I would like, and given the circumstances, I would assume that a business would not want to lose money. Houston is a place that should be considered when making decisions to remain open during that time.

We celebrated our anniversary here tonight based off of my coworkers recommendations...they did not steer me wrong. What an incredible dining experience. Jen our bar tender, and Bella were beyond exceptional! Thank you for creating a memorable experience. We didn't leave the bar and move to a table---because they were absolutely delightful! Every recommendation that Jen had was on point. The whole fish (red snapper) is a definite must try, along with the Thai shrimp (sooo good)....i can't wait to go back! I loved it! And thank you for making our day amazing!

We ordered 2 orders of the Thia shrimp one was cold the other was hot but salty and overcooked. The shrimp pizza needed more seasoning and the oysters were just OK definitely have had better at other places. The drinks are watered down and terrible but the worst complaint is management terrible attitudes. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save your money go somewhere else over priced food and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere but overpriced food and drinks. The original Davis Street food was amazing and staff was amazing. It has closed and reopen and new management and owner needs a lot of work on their food drinks and staff. I would've given it zero stars, but it won't allow it.

Attentive service ~ delicious food ~ great drinks. My group visited Davis Street for a fundraiser reception. We were taken care of my two excellent, conscientious servers. Our passed appetizers were delicious, especially the vegetarian empanadas. My companions all loved the Thai shrimp. Chef Holley came by to check on our group. I'm very appreciative of the good vibes created for us on this visit.

This place was very nice. I went for a birthday. The ambiance was nice and pristine. Our waiter was pleasant and very helpful. I ordered the Thai shrimp (not pictured below) for a starter and the halibut with crabmeat dish for dinner. I took some of my sister's mac n cheese, and it was too good!!!. I would definitely come back and encourage others to do the same. I also had a mocktail, but I don't remember the name of it.

From walking up to restaurant and hearing the music to being greeted at the entrance was already such a warm and exciting feeling .Every dish and drink that my friend and I order was so full a smells and flavor. Everything was delicious, especially the BISCUITS. Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Environment 5/5

Davis Street for the first time through restaurant week and I really enjoyed myself. We were greeted by friendly staff at the front and our server Daniel was great, he provided excellent recommendations. Ambience is also really nice. They had great music selection. Also, a few TVs to catch the game. The first course we got the Korean beef tacos, which were delicious and the gumbo. The gumbo didn't have a lot of meat, and when asked to substitute the fried oysters for more shrimp, we only received one shrimp in the entire bowl. The second course, the blackened catfish and the pork chops 10 out of 10 flavor and portion size were great. The desert was also pretty good, but the coconut cake was more like a hummingbird cake.

Ambiance was nice and sexy. Food was good and filling. Our waiter an older African American gentleman can't remember his name was awesome and knew the menu well. I'll definitely go back.

Man! Jenn is one of the best bartenders I have experienced across 5 continents! She perfectly makes my usual (a Manhattan made with Angel's Envy) and always has an infectious smile. Her energy and the way she commands the bar is truly unparalleled. If you find yourself in the area stop in and tell her I sent you!

I have visited this restaurant about 6 times and had a great experience every time. I have had a dinner of 20 people, and have had date night with my fiancé here as well. My favorite thing to get is the Caribbean Mussels. They are amazing and so flavorful. For entrees I love the redfish, the porkchop, the lamb chops, and the Halibut and Crabmeat. For sides you should definitely try the Truffle Mac & Cheese, Duck Fat-Bacon Potatoes, and the whipped potatoes. The service is amazing. The servers know the menu and have great recommendations. They are very knowledgeable of the wine as well that is available. Lastly, for drinks we have tried and loved the following: Houston Heat, Nearest & Dearest Old Fashioned, Cedrik's Fish House Punch, and last night 2/11/24 I had the Riesling flight.

This place is a total vibe the atmosphere is so super grown. The food was super good and just the whole Almeda strip is a upper class of black owned businesses.. So I get so excited when the food meets my type of vibe and Davis Street y'all did that.

We've come here for dinner before but decided to try happy hour. As usual, the service and food were perfect. Our waiter, Jonathan, was friendly and attentive even though we were sitting on the patio. We met the manager who was just as friendly. The sliders were good but the Thai Shrimp was the star! I would definitely recommend trying it.

Excellent customer service! We were welcomed upon entry. The host was very kind and took numerous pictures from every angle while we waited for the rest of our party. Our waiter asked what brought us to Davis street and I informed him that we were celebrating my big move. They then provided complimentary champagne to my entire party along with the complimentary dessert to help me celebrate. This was very very kind and truly appreciated. The Nola Style charbroiled oysters were excellent along with the crispy Thai shrimp. I can definitely go back for another round of each. Additionally, the octopus was tender and tasty. However, the halibut was a little underwhelming. The sauce that came with it was divine, but the fish itself was lacking a little flavor. Also, the pasta was served sparingly. The mussels was okay. Overall, it was a great place to celebrate my big move!

Drinks - superb! Food - delicious. Service - unmatched! I love that the Chef/Owner came out to ask about our experience. Their brunch is great as well.

Everything about our dinner was perfect! Great music. We could talk without shouting. Daniel waited on us. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable about the menu, and went over and above running to the parking lot to bring our forgotten take home food.

I went for brunch after Sunday service. Upon walking in we were greeted and sat at our table. The complimentary biscuit and jelly were good. The morning mule was good and not overpowering. The only missed was the under seasoned Cornish hen. The waffles and greens were good. The greens were the best thing on the plate followed by the waffles. I agree the syrup is very watered down but still good. For about $55 with tax and tip I would expect more.

So this is located in 3rd ward of Houston. This is a upscale dining experience. The parking is small. They have valet and street self parking.. so for me parking is not great. The food was a hit or miss for me as well. They didn't quite meet my expectations of upscale dining. The best thing was the oysters. My waiter was super sweet loved her. The service

I haven't eaten hear in over 5 years, but really wanted some bread pudding so I was excited to see it on the menu. It did not disappoint, as it was delicious even reheated when I got home. The gentlemen on the phone and who handed me my food were very kind and helpful with my order. The restaurant looked nice inside as it always did. I also saw they' were celebrating 5 years of their new chef, which definitely made me want to come back and give the main menu a try!

Disappointed! This is my first time visiting Davis St. I have heard great things about it and decided to treat myself to a celebratory brunch as I am completing radiation treatments this week. The food presentation was amazing! I had the Crispy Thai Shrimp as an appetizer and the Shrimp and Grits as my entree. Both were tasty and beautifully plated. I would give it 4 stars. My disappointment came from the service. I sat at the bar. One would expect great service when sitting in such close proximity of the bartender. However, there were 2 other parties sitting at the bar who apparently were VIP's. They got all of the attention from the bartender, Vic. It didn't feel good to feel overlooked, passed over, and slightly ignored because the other two parties (2 people in each) were served with what appeared to be VIP service. Even went as far as to make special drinks that he was "practicing" for the menu. Don't do that. It's rude. I was the only other person at the bar. I might come back for the ambiance during dinner and not sit at the bar. However, Houston provides a lot of other options that provide much better service and attentiveness to customers. Knocked off a star for this reason.

Good food, but a little pricy and parking can be a problem at times, particularly around commuting hours.

Came here on a Friday night It was pretty busy, yet the tables were decently spaced apart. Servers were friendly and waiter seemed very knowledgeable about dishes and made recommendations since it was my first visit Ordered the parker house rolls. The rolls tasted great but I did not enjoy any of the topping served with them. Also has the lamb chops. Cooked perfectly and the small salad on top went well with the flavors of the dish
