"Diamond Bakery, the iconic Jewish business that opened in 1946 on Fairfax Avenue, closed its doors after 77 years in business due to financial difficulties and aging facilities. However, the bakery is partnering with Bread Los Angeles to continue selling its products at various locations." - Cathy Chaplin

"Diamond Bakery is a Jewish bakery in the Fairfax District that has been churning out glossy challah since the 1940s. The white and blue shop is known for its rye bread, chewy pretzels that make the ones from  AMC look like cardboard, and lots of little, sprinkle-covered cookies that are asking to be dunked into hot coffee (they have that, too.) Make sure to grab one of their spinach boreks on the way out." - Sylvio Martins

"At 75-year-old Jewish institution Diamond Bakery on Fairfax, new owners Doug Weinstein and Brian Hollander are at their own kind of transition point. The friends and business partners are reckoning with the everyday demands of running a bakery and the need to modernize an aging operation without alienating long-time clientele in a community that has seen so much upheaval." - Farley Elliott

"Beloved Fairfax destination Diamond Bakery is in trouble. The 74-year-old spot has turned out loaves and bagels and more for many of LA’s popular restaurants over the decades, but with restaurant accounts dwindling because of the pandemic, times are tight. A consortium of employees who purchased the bakery last year say that without continued support from regulars, the return of grocery stores, and the renewal of large-scale dining at restaurants, it’s going to be hard to survive. To that end, they’ve launched fully on all delivery apps, and have even begun a GoFundMe page, seeking to score an eye-opening $400,000 in hopes of staying open for the long haul. For more info and to potentially donate, check out the page here." - Farley Elliott

Every time I go to supreme I go here to get a coffee and pastry of some sort. My first time coming in I got a coffee and the lady offered me some free “ruglache” which I never tried before and I enjoyed it. She didn’t have to do that but that little act of kindness is what will have me coming back 😊🙌

A special place. I knew of it’s history and reputation but to actually be there, buy the most glorious pastries by the pound, sit and appreciate a truly iconic LA Bakery, have a wonderful conversation with the lovely lady who helped us, alongside my daughter was priceless. Sometimes we have to be reminded that the simplest things can give us the most enjoyment. I highly recommend you visit.

Have been coming here twice a year for over 40 years Never disappointed. From their bagels to pastry my personal favorite is their raspberry almond tarts .... my children love their decadent chocolate cake my husband hooked on their apple turnovers We drive 50 miles one way for our semi annual treats. Needless to say we stock up and freeze and enjoy every treat. Please never close it would break our hearts 💕

It is clear that for local customers this is a wonderful bakery. It is what encouraged me to order on line for shipment. While I am sure there products are very good, their staff is kind and personable, their prices are reasonable I would not recommend having anything shipped. My order came 2nd day air on UPS. It arrived on time, however there was no packing material in the box, only one of the cookies ordered was in the box along with a loaf of bread, both loose in the box so the cookies had been crashed about during transport and came as a bag of pieces and crumbs. I contacted the bakery, they did refund what I paid for the cookies not delivered. I was not given an answer whey the items were not packed with care, only that they are not responsible for how UPS delivers. I would still recommend this bakery if you live near by. I would caution against on line orders to be delivered. I wish them success in the future.

Hands down some of the kindest people with amazing treats. We had some goodies brought our office and our staff loved them. Diamond Doug is also an amazing person, which reflects in the product and the friendly staff.

This place has amazing bakery. The apple turnover is not overly sweet, just right. I love their almond pastry that is shaped like horns, (kind of like a croissant) but with the tips covered in chocolate. So awesome! And it's super affordable.

The quality and tradition of baking pound cake and Pretzels is on Point, I’ve told people I’ve met from the east coast living here now for that taste you’re accustomed to they deliver every time. Especially the blueberry pound cake.
