"Beloved Fairfax destination Diamond Bakery is in trouble. The 74-year-old spot has turned out loaves and bagels and more for many of LA’s popular restaurants over the decades, but with restaurant accounts dwindling because of the pandemic, times are tight. A consortium of employees who purchased the bakery last year say that without continued support from regulars, the return of grocery stores, and the renewal of large-scale dining at restaurants, it’s going to be hard to survive. To that end, they’ve launched fully on all delivery apps, and have even begun a GoFundMe page, seeking to score an eye-opening $400,000 in hopes of staying open for the long haul.
