The Hit List: 12 New Las Vegas Restaurants To Try Right Now 2024

"It’s true that most of the hottest new restaurants in Vegas are sit-down spots that require serious deliberation on what to wear. So for the times when you just don’t feel like getting dressed up but still want to dine like royalty, this takeout-only sushi spot puts out high-quality fish that you can eat on the hood of your rental car. The chef and co-owner was one of the first women sushi chefs on the Strip, but she recently left Wynn’s Japanese restaurant Mizumi to debut this off-the-Strip outpost that makes you feel like you have your own personal sushi chef on call. The fish is sourced mostly from Japan, and your go-to order should be The Treasure Box: a colorful assortment of melt-in-your-mouth toro, Hokkaido uni, hamachi, and briny ikura on top of sushi rice. It costs $80 but can feed two people and will make going back to grocery store sushi extremely hard—especially if you order the freshly grated Japanese wasabi root." - emmy kasten

I’m visiting from Chicago, where finding a good sushi place is not hard to find, so I ordered from Doanburi with high hopes but low expectations. Wow!! This is up to par with some of the best sushi I’ve had in Chicago, but with better presentation and better price! I ordered the Bite Size Hidden Gem Box, a piece of fatty tuna, piece of yellowtail, and the garlic edamame. The salmon was my favorite fish and the homemade garlic sauce in the edamame is no joke! My only regret is not ordering extra wakamomo — what a special treat!

I recently ordered sushi from Doanburi for July 4th celebration, and it was a delightful experience. The presentation was stunning, with vibrant and fresh ingredients artfully arranged. The variety included tuna belly, buttery salmon, and other delicious cuts, all adorned with delicate garnishes and edible flowers. Each piece was fresh, flavorful, and expertly crafted. The attention to detail in both taste and aesthetics made this sushi feast truly memorable. Highly recommended for sushi lovers looking for a top-notch experience!

I finally got to try Doanburi's sushi and let me tell you, this is one of the best sushi that you will ever get to have!! I got the Treasure Box which is a chirashi bowl, it contains assorted fish & ingredients that are mostly from Japan!! The jewelry box includes nigiri with different fish as well and 2 cut rolls. The crispy Salmon rice is one of my favorites I would say, the rice itself is crispy and soft on the inside. The salmon was so fresh and just melts in your mouth. Her sashimi also doesn't disappoint, the fluke with truffle oil was so good and the yellowtail jalapeño and smoked salmon were both amazing as well! Chef Jae's presentation to every treasure boxes, nigiris and sashimis are beautifully presented, it's almost like eating in a fine dining sushi restaurant on the strip. You may think that the price is a little high but you are definitely getting your moneys worth because it is that incredible! My husband and I shared everything, it got us so full that we almost couldn't finish it. Side note** the sushi rice is perfect btw! Perfect ratio of water and rice with rice vinegar :D I'll be coming back, thanks Chef Jae!!

I am sharing my experience after having ordered from Doanburi three times, but wishing I have ordered more often! The Owner: Doanburi is run by Chef Jae Doan. Each time I’ve picked up my order, the chef herself brought it to the counter and thanked me personally. Chef Jae is a former chef from Las Vegas’ finest Japanese restaurants including Mizumi and Morimoto. In a mostly male dominated business, Chef Jae’s culinary accomplishments stood out enough to become one of the first female sushi chefs on the strip. The Business: Doanburi is a cloud kitchen format, which is an efficient way for restaurants to offer their food in our busy world. You place your order for pick up or delivery from a third party. I am lucky enough to live 1 mile from Doanburi, so I always pick up the order myself. The Food: If I had to use one word it would be INCREDIBLE! Eating here will ruin your expectations of any other sushi restaurant. The quality of each individual ingredient is exceptional! The ginger appears hand-sliced. The wasabi root is REAL wasabi ground with a fine grater. Even the soy sauce is decidedly better than what you might pick up at the grocery store. To match the excellent quality of food, the presentation is remarkable. Black napkins, durable paper bags with handles, and banana leaves underneath the sushi roll. The portions are perfect. There is no extra rice wrapped up in the sushi like you find at lower quality restaurants. Just the perfect amount to compliment the fish and other ingredients. You can’t go wrong ordering anything here. But in particular you must try the Crispy Rice Spicy Salmon. The Sea Salt Caramel Flan is a wonderful desert to add on to your order as well. If you’ve made it this far, just go ahead and give Doanburi a try because it’s absolutely worth it. I’ve had many sushi experiences in Las Vegas, but this is the only one worth leaving a review for! Absolutely amazing! I am a single mother of a toddler in his terrible 2’s, so going to a sit down restaurant with high end sushi is not an option right now. Oh how I’ve missed my O toro!! Thankfully I found Doanburi! High end premium quality sushi that I can enjoy at home is a dream come true. I’m hooked!! Will definitely be back soon!

I ain't going to lie, I work in a Japanese fine dining restaurant and the chirashi bowl is like the last thing I have in mind. But Chef Jae's chirashi was mind blowing where now I have different(positive) view on chirashi bowl. First, before we start talking about the quality of the fish, we need to talk about "the Rice". You may have the best quality of the fish in the world but if you mess up the sushi rice, which requires perfect balance of the water and the vinegar, the off taste of rice could ruin everything but Chef Jae knows exactly what she is doing with preparing the sushi rice!! And according to the Chef Jae, all of her fish on this chirashi bowl was from quality vendor that no other restaurants use other than super high end restaurants in the town. (For example, one fish I hate is salmon but hell, even salmon was so fresh and lean, it was so good). At first, I thought the box was kind of small for guy like me(I'm a big guy with big appetite), but after finishing the chirashi box, I was actually very full. Definitely recommended! It's definitely a hidden jewel of Las Vegas.

I found out about this place through Las Vegas Fill's instagram and have been so eager to try it after the foodie gave rave reviews about it. I finally caved and man oh man, I don't know why I waited as long as I did. I got the salmon box (Hidden gem) and the Treasure box, which was an assortment of 8 different fish. All I can say is.. my "Jeri Dreams of Sushi" (get it, Jiro) state has been fully awakened and my burning desire to re-book that trip to Japan that was cancelled by the stupid pandemic has been reignited. For now, Doanburi will suffice. Trust me, that sushi is as AMAZING as it looks.

Doanburi has the best sushi in Summerlin hands down and arguably the best takeout sushi in all of Las Vegas! It is located in the all new Summerlin Takeout ghost kitchen, and Summerlin really lacks good quality sushi so I'm hella pumped to have found this spot! Chef Jae is the creative artist!Doanburi, and she has a lot of experience under her belt including working at Mizumi inside the Wynn and under Morimoto at the MGM! Most of the fish, if not all, is imported from Japan, so they use the highest quality fish which you can tell in every single bite. We tried the "Treasure Box" which is appropriately named, because it looks like you opened up a box of treasure. It's a beautifully presented chirashi with premium cuts of sashimi including Hokkaido uni, toro, king salmon, shima-aji, hotate, etc. and topped off with caviar and 24k gold flakes! Valentine's Day is coming up so surprise your significant other with this gift, and you'll get it in the bag ;) We also tried the sushi box which included 8 pieces of nigiri (toro, honmaguro, king salmon, shima aji, hotate, sweet shrimp, tai, and I'm not sure what the last piece was), homemade kastella, and a salmon-avo maki! Both were sooooooo gooood! I can’t wait to come back and try some other items!
