"Last year’s newest Italian restaurant is this season’s hottest pop-up. The Southeast Asian menus prioritize locally sourced seafood, plus produce harvested on the South Fork. Dishes are similar to the Balinese food from the Manhattan original, with an extra vacation-worthy twist: think lobster noodles with black pepper butter and thai basil and soy-tamarind glazed ribs that will have you impolitely licking your fingers. There are also interesting cocktails with infused liquours, clarified juices, and a ton of imported ingredients." - melissa kravitz hoeffner, team infatuation

"Maurizio Marfoglia has a hot restaurant in practically every Hampton hamlet and his latest is this Italian steakhouse with a huge tree- and flower-filled outdoor area.  Meats include a Berkshire pork chop, and 45 ounce steak Florentine that feeds three, while a whole Maine lobster enhances linguini with spicy tomato sauce." - Beth Landman

"Maurizio Marfoglia has unveiled a new Italian steakhouse on the footprint of his Dopo La Spiaggia East Hampton. The core menu will contain classics like oysters Rockefeller and New York strip, with some meat sourced from local Acabonac Farms, but the evenings will contain many specials like steak Florentine, and market-driven sides. Filet mignon is served on the bone, and Dopo fans will be happy to hear that the famous pastas will still be served." - Beth Landman

*review for the Wayan & Ma•dé Out East pop-up at Dopo Buttero* TLDR: Not safe for people with food allergies I have a serious allergy to avocados, which I communicated to the restaurant when making a reservation, to multiple staff when at the restaurant, and when ordering. They confirmed they could accommodate my food allergy. We ordered the tuna tartare, which does not have avocado listed on the menu. When it arrived, I thought the dish looked like it had avocado in it. I asked them if it was avocado, and they told me no, it was “sambal hijau” (which is what’s listed on the menu). Minutes later, they ran out and told me it actually was avocado – after I’d already eaten it. (By the way, sambal hijau is not traditionally made with avocado, so there’s no way I would have known it was an ingredient in the dish.) This was a completely preventable mistake that could have sent me to the hospital. While our meal was comped and the manager apologized and took responsibility for what happened, it is appalling that a restaurant run by the son of Jean Georges does not have better kitchen protocols, staff training, and team communication.

No longer an Italian restaurant! We had eaten at this restaurant several several years ago, and we had made reservations to return. It was only after we were seated that we discovered the restaurant now serves Indonesian food. Although the menu was not what we had expected, the food was good, and the service and atmosphere are still excellent.

Long story short , I ordered take out . A simple dish of spaghetti and meatballs . The order gets to my home and the meat is raw. I just don’t quite understand how a simple meatball can be raw and when there is supposedly a professional chef in the kitchen . Will never order or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Also the front desk receptionist actually had the audacity to offer me another of the same order as if after sending me raw meat I’ll eat there again . Very unprofessional. This restaurant is the definition of overpriced very bad food . If I could give 0 stars I would !!!!

This is no longer Dopo Buttero. It is now an overpriced Indonesian restaurant with limited menu. The items are disappointing compared to similar restaurants. Will definitely not return.

If you want a fancy location this is the place to go, however, I was disappointed on the flavor of the cuisine and the service provided. Our main course took over 25 minutes to arrive after we had already finished our appetizer (a $20 salad consisting of aurugula and nuts- not worth the price). Our drinks were ok, we had to send one back as it was just not what we expected (spicy margarita that was more sour than spicy) and even the bread wasn't great. I ordered the fettucini alfredo (pictured) and it hardly had any flavor and my husband's hot dish was cold.

GREAT PRICE FIX VALUE! all the food was excellently prepared. Scallops, tuna, shrimp, raviolli.

Ordered two pork chops - one came out extremely well (overcooked) and the other came out blue/rare on one side. Politely sent the second one back to get cooked a little more and didn’t see it again until all other guests at the table had finished their meal. When it did finally come back, it was extremely well done/leathery. Creamed spinach was so sweet you’d think they used whipped cream. $22 cocktails that should have been $18 at most.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our dining experience. The food was incredibly subpar; when I asked for chicken on top of the Caesar salad, they said “we can’t do that. Only salad.” It came out incredibly bland with 3 croutons and Parmesan. My husband got the Bolognese, and said it was very bland and didn’t taste homemade. Incredibly expensive for poor quality portions and food.
