Tucked away on a quiet street, this family-run BBQ spot serves up mouthwatering brisket, tender ribs, and stellar cornbread in a cozy outdoor setting.
"Drinking Pig used to serve the best barbecue in Miami from a residential cul-de-sac in North Miami. Four years later, the pop-up has a home in Downtown, where you can still find their delicious smoked ribs, mac and cheese, brisket, and cornbread. They’ve now got indoor tables, air conditioning, and a fun bar with delicious cocktails too. But Drinking Pig still has that same sense of community and camaraderie that made this place feel like crashing someone's cookout. Folks line up before they open, the bar is where you make friends, and the long communal table is where you move so you can hear them better. As of right now, Drinking Pig is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until they run out of food, but it’s already one of our favorite new restaurants in Miami. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc" - Virginia Otazo
"This weekend-only barbecue spot, by KYU alums, boasts some of the best barbecue in the Magic City. Hungry diners can order items like brisket, pulled pork, and chicken using traditional techniques alongside Caribbean flavors. Make sure to order in advance, as this spot has been known to sell out." - Eater Staff
"One thing I missed this year was going to a restaurant and sitting at a big table full of way too much food. I did this a lot pre-pandemic and sometimes I’d pretend I was a Roman emperor. It’s hard to recreate that feeling with takeout - unless you just ordered about 20 pounds of barbecue from the pop-up Drinking Pig, which I did a few months ago. I ate it all picnic-style outside my apartment, and it remains one of my most memorable meals of the year. If you haven’t tried this place yet, DM them and place an order for the weekend. There is simply no way you will regret it." - ryan pfeffer
"Follow Drinking Pig BBQ On Instagram Some of the best barbecue in South Florida right now is being served from a North Miami front yard. Drinking Pig BBQ, which is open Fri-Sun, has a massive smoker full of things you definitely want to eat. There are classic pork ribs, tender brisket, pulled pork, beautiful spice-rubbed chicken that looks like it just got out of the tanning salon, and a beef rib that might strain your bicep. There’s also cornbread, mac and cheese, and collard greens - all of which are outstanding. They accept orders online, which you can place in advance for a pick up on a specific day. You should do that as fast as your fingers will allow." - Ryan Pfeffer
"One of Miami’s best new barbecue spots, Drinking Pig BBQ, is teaming up with Derek Kaplan of Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop for a two-day Fourth of July pop-up at Fireman Derek’s former Wynwood location serving up brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken along with a serious selection of sides." - Olee Fowler
