Where Shenseea Goes For Caribbean Food, Wings & Peri Peri Chicken

"What made me fall in love with Dukunoo was their rice and peas. That rice and peas...wow, it's so soft. I love their saltfish fritters appetizer and their wings. The setting when you dine there is like a party. Every time I go to Dukunoo, it's pure vibes, pure energy. You can enjoy some nice Caribbean music while you're dining. Their beverages are really nice, too. The mojitos? I'm not a big alcohol fan, but when I taste theirs, which has passion fruit mixed with a little bit of alcohol, it's really nice." - brennan carley

Miami’s 12 Best Caribbean Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Dukonoo (West African for “sweet thing”) serves Jamaican food in the heart of buzzy Wynwood. The menu starts with small plates like pressed plantains topped with crispy snapper, salt cod fritters, jerk corn, and red pea soup with pickled beef. “Bigga plates” such as fried chicken, oxtail, whole roasted snapper, and shrimp skewers are a treat to the tastebuds and will require a loosening of the belt buckles. The star dessert on the menu is made of a starchy pudding-like consistency wrapped in a leaf, tied, and steamed. Weekend brunch comes with jerk omelet, pon di side, and other specialty dishes offered on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m." - Juliana Accioly

Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen Review - Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"Dukunoo is a Jamaican restaurant in Wynwood. The food here is OK—we like the jerk chicken (if we get it on one of its good days). The atmosphere is very lively, so expect loud music and more of a nightlife atmosphere on the weekends. As long as you’re cool with that (and slow service), it’s a solid option. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings" - Ryan Pfeffer

Good flavourful food and some great tasting cocktails on the menu. Has a great vibe here with the DJ playing some bangers. Service was quick, didn't have to wait long to be seated or for the food to arrive. Server was helpful in going through the menu and recommending some dishes/drinks. Just a bit overpriced but may be due to the area.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately, it’ll most likely be my last. Despite having a reservation, we were still put on a waitlist by the hostess, which made absolutely no sense. While we waited at the bar, we noticed people walking right past the hostess and seating themselves outside. We pointed out that there were at least two open tables, and only then did she come up with an excuse before finally deciding to seat us—after we reminded her again that we had a reservation. Once seated, we waited an entire hour before anyone even acknowledged our table. Thankfully, our server Dena eventually came over and did her best to turn the situation around—huge appreciation to her for stepping up when no one else would. We were in town celebrating my best friend’s birthday and her new job promotion, and what should’ve been a fun night turned into a frustrating experience. I ordered the Calamari and Jerk Lamb Chops, and for nearly $60, the portion sizes were shockingly small. The DJ played some solid music, and my friend and I started dancing a bit to enjoy ourselves. But then we were told to sit down because we were “blocking a section”—even though everyone around us was seated and there was no clear issue. It felt like clear favoritism was at play—if you weren’t paying for a section, you weren’t treated with the same respect. We spent good money here, and it’s disappointing to walk away feeling like just another dollar sign rather than a valued guest. I really hope management takes a hard look at how they treat their patrons and improves both their customer service and overall experience—especially for those who aren’t buying bottle service or booking sections.

We were served by Natalie. She recommended the curry chicken peas, because I'm a vegetarian. They were scrumptious!! I'll definitely have them again. My friend ordered the oxtail. They were delicious as well. The vibe was chill and the evening was perfect for outside seating.

We came to Dunkaroo looking for authentic Jamaican food—and wow, it did not disappoint! Every bite was full of flavor, and we ended up cleaning our plates so fast we forgot to take pictures! We started with the fritters and BBQ wings—both were absolutely delicious. The wings were perfectly seasoned and the fritters were packed with flavor. The Mac and cheese was a standout too—creamy, cheesy, and with just the right consistency. Curry chicken packed with flavors. The plantains could’ve been sweeter and less burnt. You can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. The service was just as impressive as the food. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive. She noticed we had a child with us and went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable. When we mentioned feeling a bit cold, she quickly adjusted the fan to make sure we were cozy. Dunkaroo is a gem for anyone craving authentic Jamaican cuisine paired with genuine hospitality. Only thing for the price the plate portion could’ve been a little more. It was worth the trip, We’ll definitely be back!

My sister, sister-in-law, and I had a great time dining at Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen. The atmosphere was pretty dope—good vibes, great music, and a laid-back energy that made us feel right at home. Our waiter was amazing and really helped guide us through the menu with solid suggestions that did not disappoint. The food? Absolutely fire. So good, my sister-in-law was already talking about coming back before we even left the table! The only thing that threw us off a bit was the shots being served in super small plastic shot glasses—it took away from the otherwise upscale feel of everything else. But overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return!

My server was Que. He was on point…excellent customer service. Also everything he recommended was “up to the time!” This place represents the Jamaican dishes full hundred. Brilliant flavors and presentation. I will be going back soon and do recommend it as an ideal spot for dinner, brunch…whatever occasion. Dukunoo is Irie!!!

Yelp
Brunch, brunch, brunch, brunch! I can't scream brunch enough. The ultimate brunch experience is here. They have breakfast only brunch buffet for $50 and the breakfast and dinner brunch buffet $75. Both brunches include unlimited food and mimosas. If that's too much food for you then you can just order off the menu. Which I just ordered off the menu. Bang, bang shrimp, Calamari, jerk chicken wings, curry goat, oxtails, chicken and waffles and salmon stew. The drinks we had were Malibu breeze martini and zombie. The food and drinks were all great! The salmon gravy and salmon lacked seasoning. But everything else was well seasoned and flavors were great! They don't deviate from the menu. So make sure you go during the days and times you're looking for. This includes cocktails and meals only on made on certain days. The calamari was the best I ever had in my life. Perfect texture and flavorful! The oxtails gave me a homemade beef stew vibe. Which homemade beef stew is my favorite meal next to a good steak. There is minimal street parking. We just valet parked in the garage on the same block. It's $10 for 2hours and you just take the elevator down to first floor and walk across the street. They have Dj and Hookahs as well. The inside has huge window that is open at the bar. Which separates the inside from outside. The window never closes. So whether you're inside or outside it will be hot or room temperature. We had great service from the waiters, servers and bust servers. They were worth the additional 18% gratuity that was added to my check. Go, you will love it but make sure to make reservation. It fills up fast while I was there at 12:30. I will be returning. Can't wait to try ladies night Thursday and happy hour.

Yelp
So I'm solely basing this review on my experience as a whole. The rating is based on, not just the food or the service only. The good. As the waiter said "you come for the food but stay for the vibes" (I think that's what he said). The vibes here are definitely sold. The music was exceptional. The friendliness of the Hostess and staff was a plus. The bad. For me it was the food. What I order was the jerk chicken and it was bland to me. And the chicken was dry. And what made it worse was the wait it felt like I waited a long time for some dry bland food. But I think maybe if I ordered something else maybe it'll be better. Also another bad experience was that our waiter who was training someone never came back to refilled our water. And man did I need some water with the dried chicken. But needless to say would definitely come back and try it again cause this was an actually cool place to hang out at.

Yelp
If I could give zero and less - I would. This review is not based on food. It is based on shitty policy and a misguided host that caused us to leave without ever trying the food. I always want to support Black businesses wherever we travel to, and yet this is the one I had the problem with. They charge you a $25 deposit to hold a reservation and then won't honor it as part of your bill. And when asked about it, the host was being a condescending cunt and flat out told me that my DEPOSIT was basically for me to come in and eat. AND would not be taken of my bill. Unacceptable and doesn't work for me. After a brief back and forth i asked to speak to the manager. With a smerk she walked off to get him. The owner that NEVER came out to speak to me. We waited 25 minutes for him to get off a supposed phone call (at this point I'm seeing smoke). The place is not upscale at all to even think that a dep should be required. But how dare you to think that if someone does do the bullshit deposit that you can just keep it. Then tell me that the company they used for the dep- they no longer work with them. Yet my reservation was made DIRECTLY THORUGH THE RESTAURANTS WEBSITE. My husband had to get me out cause I was with the shits and ready for smoke. This place is not cheap and we are foodies annnnd it was for my bday. I promise you they lost out on a 300+ bill over their need to jerk me out of my 25. Just so you know - seaspice $650, Nobu $600, Grailes $200, Jackson Soul $100 Cafe Brasialles $100 and others. We were in these Miami streets - YOUR LOSS. The hostess I'm sure needed it more than she cared to say. For me it was the principle!!! I just hate to think of any others that they do this to. I couldn't have been the only one. And I can't imagine the owner is good with the loss - but then again - he never came out to talk to me so that answers that. I added my Pic so that hostess knows just who I am.

Yelp
I stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered the oxtails with rice and peas. The oxtails were incredibly flavorful, juicy, and tender--I enjoyed every bite. The rice and peas complemented the dish perfectly. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Everyone please order the curry chicken!!!! It was one of the best curry's I've tasted. I couldn't wait to finish eating it once I got home. I didn't know what to expect coming here but I was definitely pleased with my meal. And i have to have it again. And again. And maybe another time after that. The service, it wasn't horrible but our waiter was training someone and I think it impeded on our service because it wasn't that great. It was almost as if our waiter had better things to do than to serve us, which is unfortunate. If I could change anything about the experience it would be that. But tasty food.

Yelp
We had reservations for a party of 16 and when we got there it wasn't ready which was a bit disappointing. But they ended up accommodating us to sit outside in a bigger area. Food was really good. Drinks were okay. The espresso martini was a big no no. Music was great as usual and hookah good. I'd go back but just in a smaller group.

Yelp
Food: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 The vibes were pretty good on a Saturday. There was a dj on the patio where we sat and he was playing great tunes! I will say the ambiance of this place was very nice despite Wynwood being a very small place to deal with. Parking was the typical. Busy & depends on where you park it'll be a walk. Luckily, we came at the right time since there was no wait :) On to the food... I ordered the Rasta pasta with shrimp & it was alright. The pasta could use more sauce and a bit more seasoning but nonetheless it's edible. The festival was fresh & fried nicely. Would I get this again? Probably not. I would try the escovitch and something else. The sorrel was fine! Missing a bit more alcohol but safe to drink! They had a brunch there earlier and when we arrived they were on the brinks of closing it up. We were offered to try the brunch but we declined. The price of the food was not a problem. People have to recognize that authentic Jamaican food does cost $$$ and a lot prep + time. Also, the location of Wynwood is pricey as well, so I don't mind spending a buck or two on authentic food. I will come back & try something else possibly one day! The manager came by and checked on us. Which was pretty nice of her to do. I recommend the non Jamaican servers to know the menu items better. Our server was not Jamaican but he was a bit lost in explaining what certain items were. I, myself, am Jamaican so I had to explain what certain dishes were/ made from so that the non Jamaicans at my table weren't lost. I would've rated service a 3 but the manager did check on us & the server was swift! But knowing your menu is absolutely essential. This has been the best food I've tried in Wynwood so far so I can give Dukunoo 4/5!

Yelp
I came here during Spring Break and this line was long and the inside was packed on a Sunday evening. I honestly thought it was a club because we had to be searched before going in not to mention the loud music. The food here was delicious and the drinks were strong. After eating my food, I realized a random chicken wing was mixed with my food and I ordered the jerk pork. Our waiter was nice and friendly and even took a family picture for me at my request. If you're in the Miami area check this place out.

Yelp
Dunkunoo.!! This is my 3rd coming here. The food is still delicious!!!!! I gave here 5 stars bc i couldn't give it 4.5 only bc the shots were so small. I didn't get a picture of how small the shot cups were . But the food is the main reason we're here. Food will not disappoint! Service was nice and fast. Food didn't take long to come. We came to dinner at a great time. Dj was also an additional bonus. Great music and food go hand in hand

Yelp
We really enjoyed this black-owned restaurant in Wynwood! The vibe/music was great (live DJ). The food was delicious. The service was outstanding! Just like every establishment in the area, it is pricey (gratuity and service fee automatically added). We went for lunch and ordered the wings, burger, no drinks, and our total bill was $42. I'm not complaining bc it was worth it.. Just wanted to let others know what to prepare for! 100% worth a try.

Yelp
THE BEST JAMAICAN FOOD IN SOUTH FLORIDA! Jamaican food is one of my favorite foods. I've been to Jamaica twice and I've tasted real authentic food and I can definitely say this is pretty close! The oxtail was so tender and full of flavor. I am still dreaming about it right now! The rice and peas were so good and I poured some of that oxtail gravy on top and it made it 1000 times better! The festival came out with the food and it was hot and fresh. The steamed cabbage added a nice touch to my meal. This was so much food. I had to take leftovers home and it was large enough for me to eat the leftovers twice! The restaurant is so beautiful and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a weekend and they had an indoor DJ, an outdoor DJ, as well as hookah for outdoors. The outside DJ was playing all of the great 2000s hits as well as some Caribbean music. My friends and I had a great time. The food took a little while to come out. I ordered a bottle of water with my meal and my total came out to over $75, the entire meal was pricey!
google avatar

Howard H.

Yelp
The service at Dukanoo Jamaican Kitchen was great, but the food was just okay. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the dishes didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor.
google avatar

Anne R.

Yelp
Excellent food and great music vibes, though I never did figure out if it was a live DJ or recorded, as I never saw a booth. Vegans will be happy to see a special section of the menu just for vegans to enjoy with protein options being chickpeas and beyond beef. We started with the corn appetizer and vegan ackee rolls. Our vegan guest loved the Vegan RastaPasta, and we shared a few bites as well with hearty portions from the bowl. Our meat eating guests split a half jerk chicken between two people and loved the Guinness BBQ sauce and "Festival" fried corn bread. The slaw was super thin and heavy on the vinegar, a nice refresher on the plate to cool the spices of the jerk seasoning and cut the fat of the festival. The check includes service charge and gratuity at 12% but when I received my final bill it had an extra $40 added on. The server cashed out my card at some random amount and then realized he made the mistake after I pointed out the extreme difference in total and he then credited back the difference which was apparently an error of two drinks being added on from someone else's bill to my bill. The problem was solved *kind of* but I think it would have been more appropriate to credit back the entire amount and start over with the correct amount. Love the food and then vibe, just watch what happens to the final bill.

Yelp
Dukunoo is such a great place I'm sad I'm just now finding out about it!! We went yesterday and had a wonderful experience, the vibe was amazing, the music was great, and our waitress was top notch(I'm horrible with names!). I ordered the Agua De Jamaica to drink and although it was small it was so strong and full of liquor lol! The chickpea curry was full of flavor and veggies which I enjoyed so much and I would order that again. I also ordered festival and it was cooked so well and sweet just like I like. I will be returning!
google avatar

Tyler G.

Yelp
We sat at the bar while waiting for our to-go. The vibe is cute; it wasn't too turnt for a Thursday (it was pouring rain). The jerk wings were delicious. My friend thought they were spicy, so keep that in mind if that's not your thing. My cabbage needed more salt but had other layered seasonings. I'd love to see how this place shapes up on a good night with people catching a vibe.

Yelp
FIYAH!! This place is Jamaican owned and it shows. FOOD: Shot!!!...Mi guh a mi Madda kitchen!!!we started with vegan ackee rolls (bo pic). Whacha, that was a flavor haven in my mouth. Delicious! For the main course, I had a snapper filet and hubby had the curried goat. We both shared rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. Bwwwooie.., this food was SO SO good. I was pleasantly surprised and my VERY picky Jamaican hubby gave the food a 8/10 (that's a huge compliment from him). Eeerrrthang was good. However, the cabbage was too soft for my taste, I like mine with a bit more crunch. We also had pineapple/ginger juice that had a bit of an aftertaste but besides those minor "issues" we will be back! Service: Ricky was our server and did an excellent job. We went on NYE and the place was busy. His tip was guaranteed. He gave us exceptional service. One of the managers also stopped by to wish us well and check in on us. We felt very much at home. Thank you . Ambiance: "You come for the food and stay for the vibe". The Ambiance was a VIBE. That quote was from the DJ and he is right. The music was dope and the vibe was live but chill. In conclusion, when in Miami come home to this spot . Big up unu-self... FYI: Gratuity, fees, and taxes are also added to your bill. That was a bit of a sticker shock. I am not sure if it was because of NYE or if that's the norm. Just a heads up!
google avatar

Erickson D.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Delicious, tender chicken. The only drawback was that the bowl was full of small bones, making it difficult to eat at times. The chick peas had a good flavor, but could've used an additional green or vegetable to kick up the flavor. Portion size: 5/5 Great, shareable size Service: 5/5 Excellent, attentive service Bang for your buck: 3/5 Relatively expensive, to be expected for the area.

Yelp
Food and service were amazing! I highly recommend the ackee rolls. SOOOO good! While the noise level made it hard to hear, the good vibes more than make up for that negative. This spot is a good time! Come hungry and thirsty. They have great cocktails. I had the Agua de Jamaica and was deceptively delicious. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.

Marsha J.

Yelp
Charged for my reservation deposit even though I arrived ON TIME, and was seated. Refund was refused. Food for two of my parties was extremely late, one arrived after the entire party finished food and drinks. Get this it was SIMPLY chicken and waffles. Salmon tasted like a child was practicing in the kitchen. Over all paid more than $400 for terrible service ALL AROUND. Would not recommend, much better establishment elsewhere. Also music was extremely LOUD, we couldn't even hear each speak!
google avatar

Kayla D.

Yelp
Was on vacation in Miami and we were determined to find some delicious oxtails. According to the reviews, their food is so good... Sadly, we were disappointed. We went around 9 that night where it turns into more of a lounge type vibe. The oxtails were sooo flavorful but they didn't cook them long enough . The jerk chicken was flavorful as well but too dry. We did stay a while and had some drinks and just vibed. The music was cool. From my experience... you usually have to go to these restaurants during the day because I feel like they focus more on the food...not when they turn into a lounge/club at night. Service was good too

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was Amazing. Great vibes. Had both in door and outdoor seating. live dj, Great Food and Great drinks ! What more can you ask for!
google avatar

Shenita B.

Yelp
Food was overpriced and average. I've had better and much cheaper. Service was ok. The females like to gas you up but really all about the money and tips. Ambiance is a vibe! I must admit. Eat before you go . I didn't have alcohol drink but they do have a watermelon slush that's great but overpriced at 8$.
google avatar

Mercedes J.

Yelp
In the wynwood area, place was lively and loud. I think the outside patio was having a game night or some sorts. Food was ok. We ordered a side of the Mac and cheese and it was a huge portion, and probably the best thing I ordered. My oxtails were the small bone kind, and the gravy was super thin. It had great flavor but needed a little more meat on the bone and a little thickness to the gravy. My man finished his curry plate with no issues and no complaints. I did have enough oxtails to take home for leftovers. When we were gathering our checks, the waitress accidentally paid for another tables tab with our cards that left us with over a hundred dollars of pending charges for the weekend. It was resolved, but inconvenient. I'd come here again for the vibes and the macaroni, but I'd double check my check before I give them my card.

Yelp
Ok service. Good food. Got patted down and sanded on entrance (guess that's protocol for Miami). Sat outside.

Yelp
Me and my husband arrived at dukunoo on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. They just a buffet brunch with a dj playing a variety of music and lots of throwback. Indoors was a little too loud but outside was just right! You also have the opportunity to choose item for the menu. I went with the chicken curry. The rice and peas were very soft and fresh. And the chicken curry was mildly spicy with a kick to it the flavors are very beautifully created together. The chicken fall off the bone! The Mac and cheese was very good soft as well the noodles were perfect. The cabbage is spicy so be careful! My husband enjoyed the lamb chops as well he said they were flavorful and cooked well with a dipping sauce of your choice.

Yelp
So this place has been on my Miami bucket list to try for a while. Living in South Florida for over 10+ years, you fall in love with Caribbean food. I have heard really good things about the vibes here as well. First things first, it's tucked away in Wynwood, which is always a nice place to sightsee the beautiful street art and hop around to different bars. I called and made a reservation for me and my friend however, they immediately sat us which was a plus. We chose to sit out on the patio and they have a resident DJ there who played great music. Also with us being so close to the DJ, it wasn't too loud where we couldn't have back-and-forth conversation which was really nice. Although it was brunch, we decided to just order off of the regular menu and we started off with a rum punch and jerk chicken sliders. The rum punch had a punch but was very balanced in the sweetness of the punch mixed with the rum. I would definitely order it again. The jerk chicken slider was very moist and not over cooked. The soft bun complemented the tasty chicken. However, I wish the jerk was a little more spicier. For my entrée, I ordered the oxtails which came with rice and peas. Ordering this was a whole presentation in itself which I loved. The oxtail gravy was very flavorful. I could not stop eating it however, one of my biggest pet peeves with eating oxtails at a Jamaican spot is the size of the oxtails. These ox tails were small and fatty, which I did not like because they were cooked so good I wanted more meat. Also for the price which was $35 for this - I had higher expectations. Overall, the experience was A1 and I want to come back to try another dish especially being that the service was good, food came out very promptly, and the rum punch transported me to the islands for the day.

Yelp
I'm not sure how this restaurant gets away with calling themselves a Jamaican restaurant. The jerk corn was regular roasted corn. The Rasta pasta had no rasta. I had to ask for jerk sauce on the side and that was watered down. I've had better jerk sauce from a grocery store. The cabbage was salty and the shredded cheese on the $12 Mac and cheese was not needed. We spent $155 and it was truly not worth it. Would not recommend. The music also was not good. He was playing whatever he came across on his laptop.

So here's what's up, before anyone comes for me.... I have had Caribbean food all over the western hemisphere and know what I like as well as what's reasonable. Our server was a bit preoccupied, by what, I'm not sure, but it would easily be 30 minutes in between us seeing him. We ordered drinks and by about the 35 minute mark when we had to flag him down, I simply said, I'll take the check. Knowing we had other spots to hit. He was a little pissed as he was like you ordered drinks and we were like yeah, a whole Simpsons episode ago.... You gotta keep the party going or people lose interest. And we certainly did. The food.... I'm a firm believer of so goes the appetizers, so goes the meal. We ordered the Saltfish Frittaz and the Akee rolls. Both came out not hot, very luke warm and as far as taste- MID! So much so, while waiting on our drinks and eating the ok food, we decided it was time to go. I bet if I was younger and vibing like most were, I would give glowing reviews, but an older more refined BigFella says, step yo game up! Especially for the full bill I paid! I may go back for the vibe, but not the food. I have had better out of a steel drum on the side of the street, literally!

Yelp
Dukunoo's is a staple Miami restaurant. We arrived as a party of 14 people. So yea, they can accommodate large parties. The DJ set the vibe with really good throwbacks and Afrobeats. The server was amazing!! He attended to our party with the utmost care. We always had our drinks and water flowing. The food was bomb!! The saltfish fritters are a perfect mix of spicy and crunchy. Then, I ordered the fries and wings. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture because I was hungry. I also forgot to get a picture of my dessert.

Yelp
I recently dined at Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Wynwood, Miami. Despite a parking challenge, the lively atmosphere and delicious Caribbean cuisine made it a worthwhile experience. The Saltfish and Escovitch appetizers were a standout, and the bar served amazing drinks while we waited for our patio table. The live DJ added a vibrant touch, and the general manager's friendly presence enhanced our overall enjoyment. Despite a few hiccups, it was a great Saturday night dinner with friends.

Yelp
This place is a 20 out of 10. Ended up here after an event in Miami. Brought my Jamaican friend and she was also impressed with the food. The DJ was on point and the vibe was amazing. Service was not the best but I would still highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen in Wynwood is an absolute culinary treasure, and my recent experience indulging in their Lik Yuh Fingas Oxtail left me utterly impressed. As a self-proclaimed oxtail enthusiast, I can confidently say that Dukunoo delivers some of the best I've ever had. The Lik Yuh Fingas Oxtail was rich, hearty flavors that danced on my taste buds with each tender bite. The oxtail was cooked to perfection, falling off the bone and soaking up the flavorful juices that made every mouthful a true delight. The ambiance at Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen created a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience in the heart of Wynwood.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the music was great. I wish there was a location near me, I would definitely come again. The jerk slider app was great but disappointing that there's just one, two would be ideal especially if sharing. Festival were a little dry but still good. I sat indoors but it seems like as it gets later the outside area is where all the action is. Service was great until the outdoor area became busier. If you are in the area definitely pay this place a visit.

Yelp
This is a Jamaican Restaurant was very busy in the outdoor patio area. We sat inside. The music was loud but that's what you get in Wynnwood. The food was really good. I had the passion fruit ginger lemonade non alcoholic was excellent. The Jamaican corn was very good and so was the Saltfish Frittaz. I then had the DJK Ribs which was excellently juicy. We also had the jerk wings and fries were very good. Crest Plantain bites with fish inside were also very good. I also saw a couple that had the whole snapper dish which looked amazing and very big. Great for people watching and listening to music. It would have better if they played more Jamaican Reggae but you can't have it all.

Yelp
Dukunoo This was a very vibey Caribbean restaurant in the heart of wynwood. I came with my friend on a Sunday evening around 9:30 and we had to find street parking. I made reservations beforehand and was glad that they were able to seat us immediately. I will say there was a little "hold up" with the bouncer guy at the door as he wouldn't let me in until my friend came and got me from the door (I dropped her off while I was parking the car). He was also holding up another guy at the door over something he needed to go put back in his car. Needless to say, getting inside was like getting inside of a club where you have to be pat down and searched before entry. There's an inside and an outside patio that is covered. The inside was more of the restaurant chill vibe whereas outside there were people with little sections and hookah so I believe this spot is more like a restaurant/lounge. They were playing Caribbean music from a DJ booth and it was very loud so if you want an intimate dining experience where you can talk and converse, this may not be the spot. I think we came right at the perfect time because it literally started to get PACKED with people right after we were sat. It was very busy and the waiters were understaffed so it took a while to get our orders taken and for the food to come out although I can see that the server was trying his best. On to the food. Personally I felt like there wasn't much of a variety of options to choose from for the appetizer, entrees, and drink menu. Like 4-5 items each. Also, they were a little more pricey compared to other Caribbean restaurants I've been to. I ended up getting the oxtails with rice and peas and the passion fruit infused ginger lemonade. My friend got the Jamaican jerk burger. My drink was good but very strong on the ginger so just an fyi. I enjoyed my food as it was well seasoned, a good portion and came out hot. I probably should've added a side to have a bit more variety. My friend had to send her burger back because it was cold and the Fries weren't very fresh. When it came back out she said it was just okay, nothing spectacular. Overall, it was a nice vibe to end our Sunday night but I'd probably want to try their brunch menu next time. I'd give the total experience a 3.5/5 because it could've been a little better with the service and more options but it was cool. I'll round up to 4 since I actually finished my food lol

Yelp
I want to start off by saying I flew from Boston to try Dukunoo simply because I was craving it amongst other reasons . The ambiance there is literally a 100/10 starting from the greeters along with the decor, the food, hookahs and drinks were spectacular. I ordered the oxtail which literally fell off the bone and my friend ordered the jerk chicken. We also ordered other stuff and we were left speechless and full. The service was amazing whom ever the owner maybe I would like them to know their staffing team was amazing!

Yelp
Do you know how a wet rag that has been sitting out for a long time smells? Yeah, that's how this restaurant smells. The service is just as bad. The floor is gross. The bar is sticky. The food is mediocre. I had high hopes. Instead I was highly disappointed. The jerk chicken was B- , not bad. The oxtail was a C-, not enough flavor.

Yelp
Met my friends here for dinner. The restaurant is such a vibe. They have a dj and hookah. I ordered I'm outside for my drink. For my appetizer I got the Saltfish flitters. Im Jamaican so I expecting something different. They taste more like conch flitters to me. The filling was good but it wasn't a lot of Saltfish in it. I give it a 6.5 out of 10. For my entree I ordered the yardstyle fried chicken. Which was a 7.5 out of 10. My chicken was hot and my fries was cold. Nevertheless if you looking for a restaurant with good music and drinks definitely check them out.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The jam rock drink was strong and good! The ambiance was a vibe! It is a little hot in the restaurant but can't blame them it's super hot in Miami right now! Definitely coming back! Service was friendly and great

Yelp
Came here during lunch and left happy to have found a new lunch spot. They have lunch specials from 12-3 that are a great deal, and everything was delicious. The jerk chicken was great and so was the jerk pork and the festival. The drinks were also good and it's a nice spot with an indoor and outdoor area and good service. Would recommend!

Yelp
The jerk chicken was phenomenal. Waiter was attentive and checked in on my table throughout the dining experience. There is a reduced star because the time after ordering and receiving the food was a bit long. Other than that, the experience and ambiance was a solid experience.

Yelp
We had the opportunity to have dinner at this new Jamaican restaurant in Miami. We didn't have to wait long to be seated, which was fantastic and once we sat down, we had a round of shots for the table then ordered our food, and to our surprise, the food was some of the most fantastic, well thought out, seasoned Jamaican food we have ever tasted! I ordered the ox tail linguine and it was phenomenal!!! Highly recommend this place. Parking is a bit tricky if you don't valet.

Yelp
*LONG POST ALERT* First off i have some many things i need to unpack. i wanted to have our office end of the year event. I came here several times to speak with someone in regards to it and you can only speak with the manager. The manager's time of arrival changes daily one day it's 4pm, 5pm or 6pm. he's the only one you can speak with in regards to a group event. I need to bring the proper forms because we are tax exempt. however through my numerous attempts they all failed i never seen or heard from him I left my number and all contact information nobody ever responded back to me. i came once again and he is still not in of course nobody knows how to apply the tax exempt, no manager is in and on top of that it's a inspection taking place and no food can be served so all of us are sitting here hungry and with no food. this experience has been one for the books..

Yelp
First things first, everything was delicious! We ordered the plantain bites as the appetizer and had the jerk pork and curry chicken for our entrees. The plantain bites had fried snapper with the escovitch veggies on top which I loved, but it could have benefited from a sauce as it was just fried plantain with fried fish (two dry ingredients). The jerk pork tasted like it came fresh off the grill with that charcoal taste and it wasn't dry at all. While it was delicious my only meh was the price. $28 for the cheapest cut of meat and no sides just doesn't sit right with me! Well, it did come with festival but to me that's not a full meal. Our server was very warm and gave great recommendations. Loved the music and the vibes, I can see it being a fun spot to grab a drink at in the late hours.

Yelp
I truly hate that the more popular some restaurants get they truly just become a vibe with no good quality food. Super disappointed on my most recent visit Monday night. I bit into an oxtail that tasted like nothing. As I spoke to my serve I was notified that the oxtails are PRE cooked.then warmed up. To which explained why my food was so tough. Oxtails are suppose to fall off the bone and this just was N o t it! :(

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by someone who has traveled to Miami a lot, and said that they really enjoyed their time at the spot. I knew I had to get my Jamaican food fix while in the area, and figured I would get here eventually. After the beach, my friend and I were starving. So tank tops, trunks, and flip-flops equipped, we made our way here and wow! From outside, we could hear a DJ blasting music, there was security, and people were everywhere. This was one of the few times where I didn't do much research beforehand and just decided to go with the flow. I glanced their page, but I did not see anything indicating it was a club. My friend lives in South Miami and this is Wynwood, so I was concerned that we weren't going to get in! Thankfully, there was no dress code. So, we waited a few minutes to get in (YES, it was full) and we asked for a table. There were none! But the bar had just enough seats for us on the end. Our bartender was cool, but oh my goodness was it busy. And when we got the menus, I was shocked by the price of everything! It was more expensive than I expected, and so I started to get nervous. This place seemed like a club, was the food going to be good??? I ordered the vegan ackee rolls (egg rolls filled with ackee & callaloo) and a side of rice and peas and festival. While waiting, I ordered rum punch. Obviously, that came first, and after my first sip I was content. At least they got the wrong punch right, but what about the food??? My friend's food came first, which was oxtail stew in a small pot. He seemed pleased once he tasted it. Then my food arrived, and those rolls... Oh my gosh. First of all, I have never tasted anything like that before. And I don't know what the dipping sauce was, but it was amazing. The rice and peas was delicious, but personally I felt like it needed more peas. My friend was gracious enough to let me pour some of his oxtail stew on my rice and peas, and that really set it off! The festival did its job too, but I didn't need that fried dough ultimately XD. All that being said, this place was worth it... You just gotta know what you're getting into. The DJ had an excellent set list, and folks were happily dancing in the next room over. When I return to Miami, I'm partying there!

Yelp
Lively is right? It's been a minute since I been but when I went the drinks were great and the DJ was amazing. The dance floor wasn't big but me & my friend enjoyed the space we did have. I'm happy I went and would love to go back to try the food!
