"After being closed since the start of the pandemic, Dusek’s, the restaurant attached to Thalia Hall, is reopening on Saturday May 15th with a new menu from a brand new team. Their dishes will include snacks like pork rinds, and buffalo chicken wings, along with entrees like lamb neck pappardelle and a double cheeseburger. You know what else is reopening? Thalia Hall. Check here for upcoming shows and events." - adrian kane
"Comfort food is the name of the game at this one-Michelin-starred gastropub in Pilsen. Now on the menu: asparagus and crab salad with tarragon sabayon, croutons, confit egg yolk and lemon dressing; hamachi crudo with green apple, celery, Meyer lemon and Moroccan olive crumble; and English pea ravioli with black garlic puree, lavender whip, heirloom carrot, country ham chip and charred pearl onions."
"After a decade, Dusek’s closed in December. 16” on Center tried to breathe new life into the restaurant with new chefs and a fancier menu, but ultimately it closed." - Ashok Selvam
"After a decade of feeding hungry concert-goers on the ground floor of historic Chicago music venue Thalia Hall, gastropub staple Dusek’s is setting the stage for its last dance in Pilsen. Named for the building’s original owner, John Dusek, the restaurant and bar garnered positive attention from critics for its wide selection of local craft beers and food menu from opening executive chef Jared Wentworth (now of two-Michelin-starred Moody Tongue). Those efforts earned Dusek’s a bib gourmand nod from Michelin in 2015, and a year later, it snagged a coveted star rating from the tire company." - Naomi Waxman
"Dusek’s in Pilsen is in a huge, refurbished, very possibly haunted building from the turn of the century, and it has a couple of spaces for private dinners. In the basement is the “Beer Cellar,” a private room you access through a revolving bookcase (yep, that’s right)—and next door is the “Tack Room,” constructed over an old stable. Wherever you choose to eat, an event at Dusek’s will get you a lot of history, as well as dishes like pork chops, roasted sweet potato, and mussels. And ghosts, we’re pretty sure." - adrian kane, john ringor
