The Best Ramen Shops in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"This under-the-radar retreat in Bridgeport first opened in early 2020 and is steadily earning a local reputation for its rich chicken based-bowls with thin noodles. There are also plenty of porky tonkatsu options, like niku ramen with cilantro, corn, and pickled ginger, plus sides and rice dishes such as takoyaki and gyu don beef bowls." - Naomi Waxman

The 14 Best Ramen Spots In Chicago

"The tonkotsu from E Ramen in Bridgeport might be the creamiest we’ve had in Chicago—it’s thick and opaque, and has the silkiness of luxurious hand cream. And like that lotion, a bowl at this small ramen spot is equally soothing. We recommend getting the spicy version which balances the intense creaminess with a combination of heat, sweetness from chashu and menma, along with thick chewy noodles. If rich broth is not your style, they also have great chicken ramen. This is a much lighter soup with thin noodles, green onions, and bok choy for some added crispness. " - john ringor

E Ramen - Review - Bridgeport - Chicago - The Infatuation

"The tonkotsu from E Ramen in Bridgeport is one of the creamiest versions in Chicago—it’s thick and opaque, with the smoothness of a luxurious hand cream. And like that lotion, a bowl at this small ramen spot is just as soothing. We recommend getting the spicy version which balances the intense creaminess with a combination of heat, sweetness from chashu and tender menma, and thick chewy noodles. If rich pork broth is not your style, they also have a great chicken ramen. This is a much lighter soup with thin noodles, green onions, and bok choy for some added crispness. The space is quite small, so it's perfect for solo dining, or a one-on-one catch-up with a friend." - John Ringor

We ordered combo 1 and combo 6 for three people and it was more than enough. The food is fresh and prepared at the time you order. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is very good. The prices are reasonable. I definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.

Really good food. Everything is prepared at the moment you order, most of the things are made from scratch. Very fresh everything and excellent presentation. The place is spotless and the service is very friendly and attentive. Family and kids friendly!

I have such fond memories of catching up with my friends at E Ramen—their ramen and fried chicken were always a real highlight. I was disappointed when they closed for a while, but I’m so glad to see them open again. The food is just as delicious as I remember, and the staff are as friendly and welcoming as ever. My friends and family are already looking forward to our next visit. I’d definitely give it a perfect 10 out of 10!

E Ramen is a gem! The atmosphere here feels more laid-back and chilled compared to other ramen spots, making it the perfect escape when you just want to relax and enjoy a great meal. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was welcoming and calm, setting the stage for a memorable experience. We started with the Pork Gyoza and Karaage Chicken. The Pork Gyoza were steamed, with a tender, juicy pork filling inside. The dipping sauce added a perfect touch of tanginess, making them a delightful appetizer. The Spicy Tonkotsu Original was next, and it definitely delivered on richness. The broth was velvety and packed with deep, savory flavors. Each sip had the perfect level of spice, complementing the creamy tonkotsu base beautifully. The noodles were cooked just right, with a satisfying chew, and the toppings were fresh and generous, enhancing the overall experience. However, the absolute star of the night was the Karaage Chicken. This dish stole the show! The chicken was fried to golden perfection, incredibly crispy on the outside while staying unbelievably juicy and tender inside. Every bite was packed with flavor, the seasoning on point, and the meat practically melted in the mouth. It was the kind of dish where you keep reaching for another piece without thinking twice. E Ramen nails both the food and the atmosphere. If you're looking for a cozy spot with delicious, well-crafted Japanese comfort food, this is the place to be. Highly recommended, especially for that unforgettable Karaage Chicken!

Google
E Ramen remains a favorite of mine despite trying several ramen places all over Chicago! I've been to places with a wide range of price points, different levels of marketing and advertised food quality, and I will say that E Ramen really gets a lot of the basics (but key factors) completely right, and focus on what counts! They serve excellent ramen, with high quality broth, decent noodle selections, and ingredients at an excellent price point. They don't have any flashiness that tends to drive up costs at far more expensive ramen places, but you will leave this place totally satisfied whether you are dining in or taking out, and I have so many fond memories of bringing friends from out of town here and even going on multiple dates with my now wife. They did temporarily close and I was honestly worried it might be permanent, but I am very glad to see that they have re-opened, and I can once again get take out for glorious at-home date nights, or late work nights, or just getting lunch at work if I forgot. I have always had the most pleasant experience with take-out especially since they package everything with extreme care, so all ingredients stay fresh and intact until I combine everything at home to enjoy. I sincerely look forward to many more years of ordering and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent bowl or ramen in the Bridgeport neighborhood. If I ever move away, I will still come here to get ramen, it is that good. Thank you for feeding our community with such great food! EDIT 7/10/2025: I just ordered again yesterday and for sure the recipes have changed, my normal favorites Original Tonkotsu, Garlic Lovers, and the Karaage Chicken are totally different from before and significantly saltier than before. The Karaage fried coating's texture is not as crispy and also saltier, the meat is still juicy. The pork belly in the ramen itself is generously portioned still, but the meat itself was a bit tougher than previously. The broth was also good still, but not as creamy as the previous broth. I definitely like the old recipes much better, I'm not sure what exactly changed, but I would still recommend this place without hesitation. If there is anything that can be done to prepare the food like before that would be great! I'll still be coming back.

Google
Low-key my favorite ramen in the city; I prefer it to Strings and Daifuku, and frankly I like their bowls as much as Akahoshi's. Low-key as it's completely unassuming and easy to overlook--don't! Very nice people, good prices, well composed and flavorful. A real local treasure.

Google
I've been coming to this spot for a few years now and ordering the same thing, the Tokyo Curry bowl but this alongside several other items have been modified and I cant deny i dislike the new changes to the menu and will likely not return for a long time. Regardless the dishes are still well prepared so if you have not been here before you will likely enjoy what you order.

Google
I used to absolutely love this place! Hands down my favorite restaurant. Food was always consistent so I would stop by often. Unfortunately, I believe they were bought out or switched management. I returned after it was closed for a while and I was disappointed with the food. 5 stars for the old E-Ramen. Don't think ill be returning any time soon.

Yelp
My friend and I came here randomly on a Saturday. It was empty for the post lunch hour which I didn't anticipate. We chose to order the Takoyaki to share and we chose a ramen for me and a Gyu don beef bowl for him. Service - amazing. Very attentive. The food didn't take long and when it arrived it was pleasing to the eye. Great presentation. Crispy chicken ramen- nice top to keep the fried chicken on the side. They use thigh meat so the flavor was all and through each bite. I enjoyed the ramen but I wanted it to be super spicy and it wasn't. The broth was still great. Gyu Don - too much more rice than the other toppings. I would've appreciated a bit more sauce. The beef was tender and the portion matched the price as well. Super plus. My friend and I plan to return.

Yelp
Lunchtime wasn't too busy for midweek. The food is always good. The portions are fair. Nice neighborhood place for ramen.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for brunch. They open at 11am on a weekend and we were there right when they open. They have sushi on top of ramen which was a nice surprise! My friend and I ordered the special tonkatsu ramen. It was tasty. We started with edamame as appetizers which we felt it was just okay. Overall quick service, very casual atmosphere. Parking is easy for the area.

Yelp
My family & I are visiting from Arizona and came across this ramen shop. We got the ramen (of course) and some sushi as well. Not only was the food so good and comforting, but the guy helping us was amazing. He was super friendly and consistent with checking in on us. Definitely worth the trip and I highly recommend!!

Yelp
After hearing on a online magazine about E Ramen being on the top 10 ramens in Chicago we decided to try it. We live so close to it so why not. It's a very cozy place small but nice. I think it's family own. A very nice boy was our waiter today. He was very attentive and served us great. He even refilled our waters without us asking, very good costumer service. We ordered the original tonkotsu ramen, the shrimp fried rice and the tempura shrimp roll. Wow it was super delicious. Everything, was great that nothing tasted bad to me or my husband. I highly recommend recommend this place hands down. We will be back to try their other dishes and appetizers. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
One of my new favorite ramen spots in Chicago! Cute neighborhood spot, it seemed like there were a lot of people coming in for takeout. There was a large group eating also when my boyfriend and I walked in but the service was still quick and friendly. We started with the takoyaki which was delicious - freshly fried with a perfect ratio of octopus and doughy goodness. I got the classic tonkatsu and my boyfriend the spicy tonkatsu. The chashu was melt in your mouth delicious and the broth had a deep flavor that still didn't feel too heavy. My boyfriend apparently thought the spicy was not spicy enough (to be fair he has an insane spice tolerance) but the waiter was gracious enough to bring extra spicy sauce for him. Finished the whole bowl which was definitely too much food for one meal but it was hard to stop eating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious ramen spot!

Yelp
We finally stopped by E Ramen and we're so glad we did! We had the chicken karaage, spicy tonkatsu ramen and garlic lovers tonkatsu ramen. The chicken karaage was moist and slightly crispy. Both ramen dishes were delicious - rich, flavorful broth. The noodles, pork chasu, and egg were all cooked perfectly. The pork chasu was so tender. We liked the spicy tonkatsu better than the garlic lovers. The garlic lovers tonkatsu is suuuper garlicky. We got the mid-level heat - 'spicy' and it was a good balance of heat and flavor. My husband said it was the perfect amount of spice for him. I want to try to spicy umami miso ramen next time, probably just mild spicy for me though. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. The restaurant itself doesn't have much of a vibe, but was clean, with a few small tables. They are also BYOB, which we plan to take advantage of in the future! E Ramen is now our go to spot for ramen in the area and we'll definitely be frequenting this restaurant throughout the winter!

Yelp
I gotta say, this is my first time trying Ramen. It was not busy at all when we arrive with just one other part dining in. They guy that took our order was very welcoming and friendly. Got us going right away. We started off with an order of their Pork Gyoza. These very tasty and juicy. It's hard to get these wrong, and E ramen did not fail. My wife ordered their Spicy Unami Miso. It came with ground pork, bean sprouts, green onion, bok choy, chili oil and shredded pepper all in a very delicious tasting rich pork broth. This ramen was so flavorful, I regret not ordering this for my self. I went with their Spicy Chicken Ramen and asked for it to be very spicy. This one as served with thin noodles, chicken chashu, bok choy, green onion and a seasoned egg. This one had some heat to it, but was more bland tasting compared to the spicy unami that my wife ordered. While I still enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall a great first experience with Ramen and wouldn't hesitate returning here if I'm in the area.

Yelp
My husband and I found this place because we were dropping off a rental car nearby. It was starting to get late and we just needed to eat something. The service was accommodating, but we were pleasantly surprised that the ramen was great. The tonkotsu was phenomenal & the pork was so tender. Support this mom & pop shop!

Yelp
Super cute little ramen spot that takes their broth seriously. I really appreciate that they have chicken broth since veggie broth is the norm substitute for non-pork eaters. The chicken broth hit the spot as its more flavorful than the veggie broth I'm usually forced to order. The dining room is cute, clean and simple. I was in on a week night so even though it was one person manning the front for both pick up and dine-in customers, we didn't feel abandoned. I'd def go back when in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Low-key restaurant with some of the most flavorful ramen I've had so far. I got the original tokotsu ramen and while everything in the bowl tasted good, the broth was really the standout. It really brought out the flavors of the pork and added a whole other layer of flavor to the dish. Went there on a Friday afternoon. We were the only ones there, so the atmosphere was really chill and were serviced really quickly. We had reservations, but didn't really end up having to need it. Street parking is pretty easy. We found it right in front of the restaurant. It's also BYOB. Very important to know. I can't wait to go back and try their sushi and other menu items.

Yelp
Please please go to E Ramen if you're craving ramen, sushi or a number of other menu items! I'm a frequent visitor of Chicago. I'm so excited to have been introduced to E Ramen by a friend. This gem is situated near Armour Square and Bridgeport, kinda. The atmosphere is very chill. I imagine many people do carry out but there is also the option to dine in. Our server was quite friendly. He has the double role of running register and serving dine-in guests. That should tell you how small this place is. When asked what he recommends, the server literally said "EVERYTHING!!" I believed him too. I didn't think he was just saying that to get more business. We tried the Karaage Chicken, it was described to me as being similar to Korean friend chicken. Karaage literally is Japanese friend chicken. They are similar. I'd recommend it. I got the Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen. It was some of the best ramen I'd had in a while. I whole-heartedly recommend it. I got the Spicy Chicken Ramen to go and heard amazing things about it as well. In conclusion, if you want ramen in Chicago, go to E Ramen. The End.

Yelp
Another ramen place for the books! On my quest to find the best ramen in Chicago, I stumbled onto this place. I was on my way to another ramen place when, while driving pass I noticed this spot. I promptly did a U-turn (legally, of course!) and was able to grab a parking spot right in front. Very cute and trendy spot. Clean area with a few dine in tables and a large flat screen on the wall. I quickly scored an empty table and proceeded to gaze at the menu. The waiter was very friendly and nice. He asked if I had walked or parked out front. I told him I parked and he gave me a parking pass to put in my car for free! It was a Sox game that night and some streets have parking restrictions in the area. I thought that was pretty awesome. This is a ramen and sushi spot. While I love both, my inner ramen was calling so I opted for ramen and an appetizer. The appetizer was crispy shrimp with a teriyaki sauce that was filling and delicious! The ramen was pretty good too! I had the spicy chicken ramen in which you can choose your level of heat. All in all, I am definitely going back to try the sushi and order more ramen. Glad I had a chance to stop here.

Yelp
Stopped here because it seemed like a lowkey gem with good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I tried the spicy chicken ramen, takoyaki octopus balls, Las Vegas roll, and the gyu don beef bowl. It's a pretty small place and you're not going to get amazing service, but the food was very tasty and and worth a try. I thought I wouldn't like the texture of the octopus balls, but I actually enjoyed them and I think the ramen is especially good for beginners. The sushi roll was good as well, I was just too full to finish it! I wish they were BYOB!

Yelp
Today was my first time ever trying Ramen that wasn't store bought. I was actually very surprised with how good it was. We ordered for pickup. I ordered the chicken ramen it was delicious. The broth was very tasty, the noodles had flavor, and I like the combination of all the different kinds of veggies and the fried onion straws were great. My fiancé had the spicy chicken ramen. He really enjoyed his as well, he said it really wasn't that spicy, but it was delicious.
google avatar

Melody C.

Yelp
We normally go up to Kizuki in Wicker Park, so having this nearby is so nice. We ordered the Yum Yum Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Takoyaki, Spicy Chicken ramen, and the Spicy Tonkatsu. The fish was very fresh, and tasted clean, and the rice was nice and bouncy. It was also super affordable! That's always nice to have in the city. We would definitely order other rolls again. The takoyaki was very flavorful. Not many places seem to have good takoyaki in the area. My spouse said they would describe it as "transcendent." Lmao. The ramens were definitely spicy. I meant to order the Tonkatsu Special, but since we were wearing masks, they probably misheard, which is fine! The ramen was still very flavorful and def gave a kick (speaking from someone who can't really handle spice). The pork belly had a nice sweetness to it that went well with the spicy and savory broth. Spouse got their chicken ramen at the spiciest and felt it was a comfortable spice. The chicken was VERY tender especially for chicken breast. This is definitely somewhere that we'll be coming to more often now that we know it's here.

Yelp
This is our second time ordering from e-Ramen so I can give a review. We only ordered here since we can go anywhere and pretty bored with other places. Taste - The shrimp hibachi taste okay. Nothing special about it. Wish it was a fried rice instead of white rice. When you heard hibachi, you instantly think it comes with a fried rice. The tonkatsu Ramen was also okay. The broth is not that thick, its more on the watery side according to my husband. We also ordered California maki and shrimp tempura maki. My kids loved it! The rolls were made good and its not breaking apart. Price - I think the price is okay. Almost all place have the same price. So yeah, no complain here. Delivery - we ordered through GH and so far its within the delivery time. So pretty happy here. 4 stars because my husband said the broth was om the watery side. Normally my husband is pretty easy compared to me so if he said its watery, I believe him. Will update once my husband says its good enough.
google avatar

Rami M.

Yelp
Had the spicy chicken ramen here. Service was great, but the ramen was not my favorite. The chicken and egg were cold, and that really hindered the overall experience. I might be back if I'm in the area and have a real craving.

Yelp
Best sushi In Bridgeport!! Love love love the quality, a hidden gem and definitely the best customer service! High recommend

Yelp
When the dark, gloomy winter days gets you down, E Ramen will pick you right back up! Small family owned, hole in wall restaurant that serves delicious food! I ordered the crispy chicken ramen, avocado peanut roll and seaweed salad: - Crispy chicken ramen: slightly bland for me but that was a personal thing so next time I go there I'm going to order the spicy chicken ramen instead! - Avocado peanut roll: I had never heard of an avocado peanut roll before and it was SO GOOD. Everything from the rice to the avocado was very fresh and the seasoned peanuts added the perfect crunch to the roll - Seaweed salad: my favorite types of seaweed salads are ones that taste more like sesame rather than fish oil & E Ramen got that exactly how I like it. It was a large portion for $4 With these three items, I basically had enough food for three meals. The avocado peanut roll and seaweed salads are two items that I'll always order. They have so much variety in their menu and I love how everything tasted really fresh. I hope anyone in the mood for fresh ramen checks out E Ramen!
google avatar

Natasha B.

Yelp
I ordered the original tonkotsu ramen for take out and while the broth had good flavor it was definitely missing something. I like my ramen spicy so I got the chili oil on the side but it wasn't enough to get it at the right spice level. Meat tasted good but not as succulent as I would have liked. They also forgot the mushrooms and the fried garlic chips that it is supposed to come with, which made a huge difference- I felt like both of those would have added the texture I needed. Fried gyoza were food, edamame was pretty standard. They forgot to give the deep spoons as well. Positives were that order was ready quickly, friendly service. Worth trying again in person I think though.
google avatar

Helena Z.

Yelp
NOTE: this review is for when I went pre-quarantine. Super nice customer service and quick as well. Portions were ample and well priced. Was able to get a quick meal with a friend and had no problem having a conversation as well. I think they are a family run business- all the more reason to support them! All in all a cute place! They also have take out.
google avatar

Yelp
Attentive staff, great food at an affordable price, clean, great A/C, chargers on the wall, Wi-Fi, if you like ramen go!

Yelp
Ordered hot chicken ramen It's not spicy at all but it's delicious The chicken broth is flabourful, the chicken cut is thick and juicy and I love the egg so much

Yelp
This place is a scam. Sushi is rotten with worms. Also the change the price on you compared to what they're online price says

Yelp
A covid delivery 5. I have ordered quiet a bit of delivery ramen for lunch in the past few months. And the broth from E Ramen is the one that really makes me miss sitting down to a fresh bowl of piping hot ramen straight out of the kitchen. I usually pour the broth into a bowl, microwave it for 30sec-1 min, add all the items to the bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds more. It makes the noodles a little bit too soft but that is inevitable, unfortunately. The broth here is just very nice. Rich and creamy, milky without being too dense and cloying, and perfectly porky in aroma and flavor. The pork belly is tender and melty. Not much more you could ask for from a bowl of ramen on a cold snowy day. Except for bouncy noodles, but that's nobody's fault except for covid ;( I tend to try a new place each time, but this was so good I've gotten it several times now, and it is is a good one to have in the rotation!
google avatar

Joana H.

Yelp
I love this place ! The first time I went I was sold... since then I love stopping by every other month . 10/10!
google avatar

Cook S.

Yelp
A single spicy tonkotsu ramen cost $12.50, with an egg it cost a $1.50 more. Which roughly comes out to $14.00. How was the soup? Its nothing special. How was the noodles? It wasn't fresh, it was probably from a local distributor like JFC, Sun Noodles, etc. How was the toppings? The Mung bean sprout definitely wasn't as fresh as it should be, the pork belly wasn't bad but I wish it was more tender and warm. The green onion definitely wasn't noticeable. Wood-ear wasn't crispy or well season. Overall: For a bowl of ramen at a price of $12.50 per bowl. It should come with an egg, come on folks what's wrong with you folks! A dozen of egg cost about $0.99 retail.

Kazumi M.

Yelp
I grew up in Chicago and spent my summers in the ramen capital Japan as a child, so you could say I've been on the hunt for a good Chicago ramen place for some time. And this place definitely hits the spot each time!! I always get a side of gyoza (made fresh every day) and a big bowl of spicy tonkotsu ramen, and I'm continuously amazed at how good it is. The pork belly is savory with a hint of sweetness, and the noodles are delicious. Plus, it's fairly easy to find parking and I've never had any trouble finding a seat. Also walking distance from Sox park! Ramen might not be your typical pre/post-ballgame grub, but who's to say it can't be? You can pretend you're going to root for the Nippon Ham Fighters or the Tokyo Giants instead of the Chicago White Sox

Yelp
Hot soup + Ramen + Cold Day = What a wonderful experience! Walking around the area and found this hidden gem. Came here on a weekday night, this place was empty. I was told they just opened yesterday. Decided to give it a try. I ordered a Tonkotsu Original to go. I didn't expect too much on a Ramen To Go but turns out I was wrong. The ramen is REALLY GOOD! The pork chashu is so tasty and I wish I had order extra egg. The seasoned egg is sooooo YUMMY! The broth is thick and hot. The toppings were fresh and match with the broth so well. As a ramen lover, I would say this is definitely a FIVE STAR ramen. Looking forward to dine in here in the future.
google avatar

Paulo G.

Yelp
Solid place for ramen and chicken karaage! Came at lunch on a weekday and didn't have to wait. The ramen broth was tasty, with a deep pork flavor. Chashu was delicious, tender and fatty. Egg was perfectly softboiled and seasoned well. Its one weakpoint was the noodles, could have had a more textured bite but still good. As for the chicken, it was juicy and well seasoned. Will definitely come back to try other items in the menu!
google avatar

Tiara B.

Yelp
I placed an order via Uber Eats. It arrived in under 30 mins. The broth was separate and still piping hot upon arrival. The chicken was super tender, and for a minute I thought four slices wouldn't be enough, but coupled with the seasoned egg it was more than fulfilling. What didn't come with the order, to my surprise, was chopped sticks. I also found myself frustrated with loosening the noodles with a fork. I assumed the hot broth would of taken care of that. Overall the ramen was fresh and flavorful.

Antonio C.

Yelp
Best sushi in Bridgeport. Kids love the fried rice. Ramen is solid. Service is goot. Best for carry out

Yelp
Drove past this place it's very low key glad I stopped by I was impressed! Had the crispy chicken ramen the broth was sooo good nice & rich with a side of crispy chicken which was fantastic. Also had the crispy shrimp with an amazing homemade sauce with just the right amount of kick great taste! Def coming back!

Yelp
The folks at E Ramen were kind and friendly even after we switched tables, broke a water glass, and stayed for two hours after we finished our meal. The ramen bowls and maki were super fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back, and I'm happy to recommend E Ramen.

Sayak Kumar M.

Yelp
Looks rather ordinary when you walk past it. On a normal drive by this place, I would not have thought of going in but I am glad we looked it up and went there. Certainly recommend. Not really at the heart of Chinatown and the street is not super busy. So, easy to find parking
google avatar

Leilanie M.

Yelp
First time I tried looked at the reviews on yelp I got the spicy chicken Ramen, crunchy chicken bowl, the crunchy shrimp roll and pan fried potstickers everything was delicious and fresh and neatly packed. I definitely will order from them again I'm very satisfied
google avatar

Ruth C.

Yelp
My first time eating E Ramen! I was a bit skeptical when I first saw the menu to be honest but I wanted to give it a try anyway. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen and the juicy fried chicken. The chicken was really tender and I appreciated squeezing the lemon slice they provided on top of it. Nice zest! I felt like they need to work on presentation for the ramen. The broth was actually really tasty but the egg and the chicken that came with the ramen could look and taste better. The chicken looked like it was sliced and shaped into a circle from a rotisserie chicken and it was not very tender. The egg also was weirdly cut. All in all, I think it's worth giving the place a try. I'll be ordering again (that broth was addictive)!

Mary L.

Yelp
Love going here. The ramen is tasty, the sushi fresh and yummy. They have jarritos drinks too. Cozy location and friendly staff.
google avatar

Elyse S.

Yelp
We got a variety of sushi and some other dishes like the teriyaki chicken which was very good. Loved all the sushi rolls! They had an easy online ordering system in place and the pickup process was very quick and simple.

Yelp
We have tried many of the ramen restaurants in Chicago... and we keep coming back to E-Ramen at least twice a month. The broth is super flavorful, they give 4 generous slices of pork belly, and we love the thick noodles. Our kids (5 & 7) are obsessed and ask to come weekly... sometimes we do. The server Simon provides great service. Thank goodness we live 3 blocks away!

Yelp
I discovered E Ramen the first week of the coronavirus quarantine. I subsequently had it three more times over the next week and a half, and they have become my go-to place for comfort food takeout. The pork chashu rice bowl and gyu don beef rice bowl are both excellent: good portions, great flavor, and super tender meat. The takoyaki and sushi rolls are consistently good, and prices are very reasonable all around. I will say I haven't actually had the ramen, as I prefer to try ramen in-house; its the rice bowls keep me coming back! Service definitely gets 5 stars as well. It seems like it's a family run business, and every person I've ever interacted with has been super friendly and accommodating, and they personally deliver in the neighborhood. The guy who delivers is really nice and friendly as well! Overall, I would highly recommend E Ramen and hope it stays in the neighborhood for a long time.

Yelp
I went to this place after reading the many positive reviews and I was disappointed. I had the spicy tonkotsu and could tell right away that the broth tasted a little too much like bouillon cubes and msg and not enough like actual pork bones. It's ok if this is your first ramen experience but if you had really good ramen before you'll find this one to be mediocre. A good thing about it is that it's about 20% cheaper than the good ramen places in the city, so at least I didn't feel like I overpaid for mediocre ramen. But if you're looking for excellent ramen I'm sorry to say this is not it.

Yelp
The ramen scene in Chicago has some serious contenders, and I was hopeful for this new spot in Bridgeport after a stoner friend of mine told me it was, "fire." Spoiler alert: it's not. We started with the takoyaki, which were your standard previously frozen and reheated fried octopus balls. Not enough octopus, and a little too dense on the inside. Let's talk about the ramen, though. Prices compare to other serious ramen places, but what's in the bowl pales in comparison. Noodles are okay, broth isn't incredibly flavorful, and it doesn't have that umami mouth feel you expect. Vegetables were obviously previously frozen, as well, or even possibly from a can (the corn in particular). I added mushrooms to mine and they were brought, watery, warmed up in a small bowl rather than added to the ramen - not too long after I heard distinct microwave beeps. My wife could only stomach a few bites of hers because I've spoiled her with food of the goods. Overall, if you're on the south end of town, you have Strings in Chinatown or even Furious Spoon in Pilsen. This place is not the, "fire," you're looking for.

Yelp
3.5 rounded up. Ramen noodles have a good bite to them and juicy crispy chicken was indeed juicy and a large portion. On the other hand, for the price, the ramen should come with more things standard rather than add ons and the chicken was over a large bowl of plain white rice which could be enhanced with something on the side like pickled veggies or sauce.

Yelp
Guys. I truly despise writing reviews but I have ordered from this place for delivery about 10 times now, and each and every time their food is AMAZING. Cold food is cold, and hot food is hot. Well seasoned, done right. If youre looking for a SOLID, CONSISTENT restaurant, this is the place to be. I appreciate you all, thank you for working so hard and making amazing food that makes for really good experiences!!

Yelp
Low key spot with very tasty food. We had our first ramen dinner with our 9 and 11 year old kids - something on the new menu for everyone. We had the California roll and juicy crispy chicken as an appetizer. My husband had the Tonkotsu Spicy ramen - very good!!! Our boys split the chicken ramen, very flavorful- chicken was so tender. I had the pork chashu bowl - excellent! Service was great, the owners are super friendly and answered menu questions we had. We'll definitely be coming back, great addition to the neighborhood!
