"Located in North Quincy, East Ocean offers both steamed and baked char siu bao, and both are exceptional. Dim sum is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. East Ocean is open for takeout (call or order online)." - Linda Huang
"Salt & Pepper Shrimp Some days, all we need is a big bowl of head-on shrimp that have been salt-and-peppered and fried to a nice crisp. There were a lot of those days in 2020, which is why we ordered them from so many different Chinese restaurants this year. Some were too soft, while others were under-seasoned, but the ones from East Ocean Seafood in Quincy were in the Goldilocks zone. Now that we think about it, we should order a side of porridge next time too." - joel ang
"It’s hard for us to comprehend why orange chicken is so popular, especially when sweet and sour chicken tastes so much better. That’s one of our go-to orders at East Ocean, along with the house special chicken and black pepper short ribs. But there’s a wide variety of menu items here, including a lot of seafood, so grab a bunch of things and share them with your roommates/family/significant other who you wish wasn’t your roommate. Or just keep it all for yourself - supposedly, it’s a free country." - Joel Ang
"QUINCY — East Ocean Restaurant (27 Billings Rd.) is open in Quincy and serving dim sum and Cantonese seafood." - Dana Hatic
North Quincy’s low‑key yum cha favorite: order by marking a bilingual sheet and expect families sharing siu mai, fried chive dumplings, and silky rice rolls. A reliable, neighborhood crowd keeps it lively and prices stay friendly.
