The Best Chinese Restaurants in Dallas, Texas | Eater Dallas

"Chinese American favorites and Cantonese specialties are the go-to. Dining in is the go-to move for trying the Hong Kong style claypot rice, which requires a 20 to 30-minute wait. That patience will be rewarded with a scalding claypot filled with steamed rice topped with a choice of roast barbecue, chicken and mushroom or pork rib, drizzled with a sweet soy based sauce, and the crown jewel that is the crispy golden layer of rice at the bottom." - Didi Paterno

December 2024 We loved this Chinese restaurant. This is one of our go to place for great Cantonese cuisine. Great value and favorable offerings. We enjoyed their family meals. The shrimp with eggs, sesame chicken, chicken with vegetable etc… even though there are common dishes but it was different from other restaurants. Highly recommend this location. Top of our mind location. May 2025 Revisit our favorite Chinese Cantonese cooking Restaurant in Plano. Love the flavor and the taste of our selection. Highly recommend the salted fish chicken pot, crispy sesame chicken, orange chicken and the scrambled egg with shrimp. The owner knows how to prepare a wonderful Cantonese cuisine!

Decent place for some pretty authentic Cantonese cuisine. Not many places have the claypot rice. The steamed chicken was tender and tasty and not overcooked.

The best roasted duck I’ve had in the DFW. Skin was perfectly crispy and shinny. Meat was seasoned well, moist and not too fatty. The skin of the scallion chicken was perfect. I wish the meat was a bit more moist. The fillings for the dim sum dumplings were great, specially the siu mai, but the wrappers had room for improvement. Looking forward to go and try the clay pots and hand pulled noodles.

Stopped in here to try out their Chinese cuisine. Overall it was pretty good. No complaints. The man took our order and brought out the food one meal at a time, which was nice as it gave us a chance to try each dish, and since they brought out the first dish quickly we weren't waiting for long.

Google
Food is authentic Cantonese food and the chef does an amazing job. We ordered the Chinese new’s year menu and we loved every bite! We had never been here before but saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. The lobster was so amazing and we ate it up. The duck was flavorful and juicy and there was no leftovers! The pork was tender and packed full of flavor. I wasn’t crazy about the ginger chicken but I don’t think that is my favorite dish in general. The waitress wasn’t very friendly, typical Chinese waitress so answers were short, not very welcoming and she seemed like she was always in a rush. Overall, go try out the food here, it’s delicious and you won’t be disappointed!

Google
This place is in plano and i live in Denton. Couldn't pass the chance to having some of the best chinese food when in the area. Albeit I have driven from denton to this location for the food and home. Is it worth the 2 hours yes, its delicious and have never had a bad order. I always get the fried potstickers for my ride home, yes all to myself. I probably order more than I should but it never goes to waste. You know it's good when the place is filled w Asian people there for the food. So if you're in the area and wanting guarnteed good Asian food, look no further, east wall is where it's at. Happy eating now Go get your grub on.

Google
Handmade pull noodle is the main deal. The noodles are pulled in the front counter so everybody can see. The sauce is good and very tasty. I did not have the opportunity to taste the dim sum yet.

Google
IYKYK, there food is 🔥🔥🔥, but like any authentic Chinese restaurant the service is not always great. It’s just a culture thing and you can’t take it personal. If you can get past that you’ll have some great authentic Chinese food.

Yelp
A noodle show and incredible food? Count me in! I've come across this place on social media countless times, often featuring a jubilant man skillfully tossing, spinning, and kneading noodle dough right before the eyes of delighted diners. I knew I had to experience it firsthand. So, I did. My mom was visiting from out of town and had a craving for Asian cuisine--no need to say more, Mom! I'll take you to a place of pure delight! And what a delightful experience it was! As we stepped into the restaurant, we were greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with neon lights and stunning island-inspired decor. The staff welcomed us warmly and invited us to choose any seat we liked. We settled by the window and began to explore their enticing menu: crab rangoon, Peking duck, beef and broccoli, and the highlight of the evening--handmade noodles! Just as we were about to place our order, we noticed some excitement brewing near the bar. Suddenly, the owner cranked up the music, and our noodle maestro emerged, beckoning guests to gather around the bar for a show. At first, no one moved, perhaps puzzled by the sudden shift. My partner, feeling a bit sorry for the chef, was the first to step up, and I quickly followed. Before we knew it, dough was soaring through the air like a scene from a magic act. More guests began to join us, captivated by the chef's mesmerizing noodle antics, all set to the lively beats of Asian music filling the restaurant. He was laughing and enjoying himself while my mom captured the moment on video, documenting his dance with the dough. Just like that, the show was over, leaving us in a daze--did that really just happen? Now, back to reality, it was time to order! We certainly didn't hold back on our choices. We indulged in crab rangoon (incredibly creamy), Peking duck (delicately rich and bursting with flavor), beef and broccoli (tender and divine), salt and pepper pork chops (crispy and savory), and finally, the handmade scallion noodles (absolutely mouthwatering)! From the attentive service to the vibrant ambiance and the exquisite food, it was an experience to remember. This place completely exceeded my expectations! I'm thrilled we decided to visit and can't wait to come back for more Noodle Shows!

Yelp
My family and I were craving some Cantonese Chinese food family style. We decided to finally try this spot and we are soo damn happy about it! The sweet noodle man greeted us so enthusiastically as well as the servers. The place wasn't too busy on a Saturday at 630pm and the restaurant was super roomy and clean! We wanted to try a little of everything so we got the crab fried rice, soup dumplings, water spinach, handmade braised pork noodles, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp. Then we tried the dim sum stuff too lol we got shumai, bbq pork buns, sticky rice, salted egg custard. So when I say we got a lot of food for just three of us I meant it.. Everything was delicious!! Best damn water spinach, salted egg custard bun, & hand pulled noodles I've ever had. The buns for the bbq pork buns and salted egg custard buns is amazing, so sweet and fluffy. They know how to make some damn good buns. The crab in the fried rice was so fresh and full of meat, I love my crab guts so the shell still had a great amount! The soup dumplings was juicy and full of meat. Literally you can't go wrong with any of these items, we loved it all! Will be back hopefully soon!

Yelp
Craving Peking Duck? THIS is the place to come! Genuine Hong Kong master chef in the house (check behind the counter for a pic of him with Chuck Norris) Back to the Peking Duck: Very tasty, skin is perfectly crispy, and the portion is generous. Other restaurants don't seem to give you all the available duck meat. You can also choose from baos or pancakes because everyone likes their Peking Duck differently. You can also get a second portion with your Peking Duck, and I very much recommend the stir fry noodles. This alone is a big deal because lots of places only offer duck soup as the second entree. East Wall also has a new chef as of recently making amazing hand pulled noodles made fresh every day. You can watch him work his magic with the dough before enjoying his creation. We had the braised beef noodle soup and it was incredible. Soup taste was on point. Tender beef. Soft noodles with a tad of elasticity.
google avatar

Robin R.

Yelp
We went on Friday night and they were not very busy. I desperately want them to stay open because it was the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. The crab rangoons were the best EVER. So crispy and fresh. The pan fried buns were so flavorful, my kids wanted 3 each. They hand pull their noodles in-house and have AMAZING orange chicken. The staff was also so kind. Try em out!
google avatar

Yelp
Let's start off on a good note - the Walnut Shrimp was perfect, Strings Beans wonderfully seasoned, Beef and Pork were extremely tender. I didn't care for the Scallion Pancakes and the Fried Tofu lacked flavor. We enjoyed the servers as they were helpful guiding us through the menu and recommending dishes. They didn't have Cheese Shrimp nor Lobster when we came on a Tuesday evening.

Yelp
Such a great dinner out. Don't sleep on this spot. The best hand pulled noodles in DFW

Yelp
Holy cow!!!!! What an experience. I LOVE hand pulled noodles. And I got to see the chef making them, dancing and even got a hug and a pic. The food was INCREDIBLE. And the staff so welcoming and kind. Even the tea was great! (loose leaf REAL tea). I found my new fave spot!!

Yelp
We recently had the opportunity to try this Chinese restaurant, and it truly exceeded our expectations. Craving fresh hand-pulled noodles, we were delighted to find Charley, who put on an impressive show making the noodles from scratch. I ordered the beef noodle soup, which was served in a gigantic bowl, easily enough to feed three people. My husband had the Dan Dan noodles, which were perfectly seasoned and delicious. We also tried the black ink squid dumplings, stuffed with fresh shrimp, and found them to be excellent. Their xao long bao was quite good as well. The customer service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was charming, with nostalgic Chinese music from the 90s playing in the background. We will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Favorite chinese food in Plano!!! Dim sum is delicious and always top notch quality, not to mention available every day of the week. Service is prompt and friendly! The atmosphere of the restaurant is chill and laid back, great place for family to gather and share the BEST food! Then there is Charlie. The Man. The Myth. THE LEGEND! The greatest hand pulled noodle dishes this side of the Great Wall! The man has a cult following for a reason! We've followed him across the metroplex for his culinary delights, smile, and noodle dance! My daughter loves watching him make his signature dishes and Charlie makes them WELL with a show! Easily our go to place for great chinese food.

Gracie L.

Yelp
We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the guy making handmade noodles. Once we put in our order, they called us to watch him make our handmade noodles. The 2 of us had the following food: green beans (very tasty) chili wonton ton ( my favorite!) the spice had a hint of sweetness before the chili hit and that's not common in other places. Rice noodle combo no shrimp, the fried flavor in it was on point. Soup dumplings were ok, not a fan if being in aluminum, aluminum adds to the flavor. Then the handmade braised pork belly noodles, definitely a Thai dish. The hubby enjoyed it. We will definitely come back!
google avatar

JohnK W.

Yelp
Had DoorDash delivery. I had the beef with fried rice, but it was just so-so compared to other places I tried. Did not care for the crab Rangoon with cream cheese. Egg Rolls were just ok.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Arrived for dim sum when it opened at 11AM & it was pretty steady with larger parties, so service was a bit slow. It is not cart service & the menu has limited but standard dim sum items. Food was good & flavorful; only improvement is to cook the egg tart more to even out the crust & bottom. - Shrimp dumpling (not pictured) - Shrimp shu mai - Beef & onion dumpling - Chinese broccoli - Phoenix shrimp ball (not offered at a lot of restaurants): chewy texture - Dungeness crab fried rice: bit salty but yummy - Egg tart: disappointed it was not Portuguese style - Black sesame bun (haven't seen this on other menus) No leftovers!

Yelp
I can't rave enough about this place. I've been eating here for years and the food is consistently good and Friendly service. The Smoky Noodle is probably my favorite because of its unique taste. I don't think there is another place in DFW that makes these noodles taste like this. What they do while stir frying the noodles is run the noodles on the side of the wok creating this heavy smoke and results in the noodle having a smoky taste and smell with flavor pack aroma which will hook you for life. The hand pulled noodles is new here but the noodle puller is a very seasoned person who has been on TV shows in the past for his noodle pulling skills! I ordered the Chinese beef noodle soup with the pulled noodles and I can tell you that the soup based and beef is excellent. They must have simmered that stock for a long time! Also ordered the Peking duck and I don't know how I missed this for years but their duck is one of the best in DFW and this is a big surprise for me!
google avatar

Bailey S.

Yelp
Best Chinese food I've ever had! Charlie put on a show when we ordered fresh noodles and it was such an experience! It made our night. There was no one in the restaurant when we were there and that made us so sad! Highly recommend! The staff is so kind and enjoyable as well!
google avatar

James Z.

Yelp
Tasty Cantonese restaurant nestled in a strip mall. We love their steamed chicken. It may not sound like much but it is extremely juicy with the gelatinous fat still on the chicken. Paired with the ginger scallion sauce makes for an amazing bite. They are also know for their claypot rice which is rare to find in DFW. It's done well with all the Chinese sausage, pork belly, bok choy, and sweet soy sauce. The rice gets really crispy if you let it cook a little while. Comes in two sizes but the small is enough for two people. We also really enjoy the water spinach. It tastes so fresh and fragrant. It's a simple veggie stir-fried with garlic but it tastes so good. Highly recommend this place for some authentic Cantonese food.
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
Great place for hand pulled noodles and dim sum! The noodle guy definitely puts on a show! Super cute inside but was quite warm so dress light, they had tons of fans going to help the air flow. Highly recommend the Peking duck with crepes, scallion hand pulled noodles and braised beef soup
google avatar

Nikki Nga K.

Yelp
2nd time dinner here. Party of 5. Ordered: Peking duck (very good), crispy orange bf (daughter loved it), salt & pepper fish (perfectly seasoned), black bean hand pulled noodles (deliciously flavorful), soup dumplings (ginger forward & delicious), cheese shrimp (just ok), beef flat noodles (kids go-to/ good), sticky rice (ok). We'll be repeat guests here if the food stays this flavorful!
google avatar

Angelia W.

Yelp
I used to eat at Taste of Peking and I loved the noodles, but was sad to hear they closed. But I heard that Charlie (the noodle guy) moved over here, so I was happy to try it! Really good food and service-- hope that more people can know about this place and support it. I got the Lanzhou hand pulled noodles and the salt and pepper tofu. Both were delicious. Tofu was crispy and super flavorful on the outside, and fresh and soft on the inside. The noodle soup had great flavor, and you could really taste the freshness in the texture of the noodles. Interesting ambiance and the interior is relatively clean and spacious. It was pretty empty when I went, so I hope more people will come try it. Service was fast, and the servers were friendly. Charlie is extremely friendly and you can tell that he is really passionate about making the noodles fresh. You can see him make them while you are there!
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
We finally dine-in instead of togo at this handmade noodle spot! The noodle texture really did exceed our expectation! Among the three different kind of noodle dishes we ordered, we liked the Beef noodle soup the most! It has a lot of tender beef along with al dente noodle. Cold noodle was really refreshing and texture was just right as well. However, we wish they have more toppings like shredded chicken, sliced fried egg and some cilantro besides the cucumber and carrots. Only reason we give them 4.5 stars is the ambience and temperature of the place. They can really crank up the AC! We all start sweating after the meal and it wasn't even full house that day. We would definitely keep going back for the food!
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
The staff is nice. The space is inviting. Definitely the chef takes pride on all dishes on the menu. The roast duck is absolutely amazing. Duck is tender and so succulent. Flavor overload. The Yang Chou Fried Rice is awesome and definitely Uncle Roger approved. Sweet and Sour Pork and Peking Pork Chop are two amazing dishes. Plenty of other items that are worth ordering. Give it a try.
google avatar

Judy T.

Yelp
Gosh, I'm so tempted to give this place 1 star so no one messes this up for me. I absolutely love this mom and pop restaurant. I don't get how this place can get less than 4 stars. Some of the reviews crack me up, especially w/ the staple review (not even food related?). Cry me a river. Most of the workers speak mandarin so don't be expecting great English and great service. Just great quality food! Yes, it may take alittle long for food, but what do you expect when it's made the right way! Reminds me so much of my grandmas cooking. They added these squid shaped har gow + the purple dreamer which is har gow with leeks... delish!! My kids loved the dry BBQ claypot! So rich in flavor and the crispy rice at the bottom.. YUM! I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.
google avatar

Edie B.

Yelp
We just wanted a simple duck noodle soup and it was complicated to place order. We had to order duck separately to put it in a soup why? There was too much noodle, not enough broth and flavor. Not worth the money not worth the drive. Don't believe everything you hear in Instagram.
google avatar

Guagua L.

Yelp
First time meet up my girlfriend Daphne, food was good, service good, everything is perfect. Orange Chicken and Pineapple Sweet Sour Pork soooo good. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
It's been a while since ordering delivery Chinese food has been worth it for me, but today that changed. So yummy! I didn't get pictures of everything because we started chowing down as soon as it got here. Beef spring rolls were delicious. I wish I would have ordered more. Steamed dumplings were cooked perfect. Orange chicken with side fried rice was a great value and tasted good. Crab Rangoons were huge! They had a good crab to cream cheese ratio. I highly recommend this place. We will order from this place again.
google avatar

Theresa C.

Yelp
My second time to East Wall. Heard they had really good Peking Duck. I ordered to go - Crab Fried Rice, Peking Duck, Water Spinach with Garlic, and Beef flat Noodles. The Peking Duck was crispy and savory, especially with the buns, scallions, and hoisin sauce. The Crab Fried Rice was ok, not very flavorful. The sautéed Water Spinach with Garlic was good. The Beef Flat Noddles was ok as well. I would go back for the Peking Duck.
google avatar

Teresa M.

Yelp
Decided to try a place we had never been to before. A friend saw a video on social media about East Wall and their hand pulled noodles. This place is wonderful. The ambience is nice and laid back. The service was great. We were immediately greeted when we came in and seated. When we said it was our first time there, our server explained the dishes and made very good suggestions. There were four of us. I had the dan dan noodles with sesame sauce. It was delicious. I had never had dim sum before and wanted to try it, so I got the taro buns. Oh my...I would come back to this place just for the taro buns. They were that good. Others in our group had sweet and sour chicken, sautéed spicy chicken noodles and one had pork noodles. Everyone loved their dishes. Charley put on a great show throwing the noodles. He was very engaging and encouraged us to come watch him with the noodles. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jill I.

Yelp
Their food is always excellent, and we order from here often. The Singapore noodle pork has a wonderful curry spice, pork dumplings are a crowd pleaser, the beef in their fried rice is perfectly tender, and the Kung Pao is always just right. We love everything we've ordered from East Wall, and they'll continue to be our fallback Chinese takeout. So tasty. Always reliable. Everything is delicious!
google avatar

Toshi L.

Yelp
We had a new year meal and I honestly wasn't a fan of it. They were all too salty for me, but I'd like to try their noodles next time though. The service was ok, and they were pretty busy with the online order and it seemed a bit understaffed.
google avatar

Donna D.

Yelp
I'm from San Francisco so I feel good about rating this. The food is good, the service is normal and the ambiance is normal.
google avatar

Brittany W.

Yelp
Save your time & money. No AC, bad service, mediocre food is over priced. Did I mention the bugs?
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
All the dishes were very good for a Cantonese restaurant. The food was well cooked, all the seafood: the fish and crab were really fresh. We have a family of well-traveled eaters and were quite impressed with quality of the food. It's a good go-to for some good ol' Cantonese food. The presentation of the food could use some improvement but the quality is where it's ultimately at. We also had the garlic sautéed snow pea veggies...very flavorful, and with that wok-hei flavor. Def worth a return trip.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Never would have known about this place from the outside, but they have some great authentic Chinese food! Very unassuming and fresh. + Peking duck: Great flavor. They just buns rather than wraps though + Green beans: good + BBQ claypot rice: haven't had this in years and this hit the spot. Good amount of crispy rice bits with the flavorful meat and soy sauce + Salt and Pepper Pork Chops: nice and crispy + Sesame balls: good The only downside was that I was craving some clams based on some menu pictures on Yelp, but they didn't have any on the menu.

Mama B.

Yelp
Best Chinese food we have found nearby. The crispy beef egg rolls were very good. Hunan beef and curry fried rice with shrimp were also tasty. We'll be back.

Bqha V.

Yelp
the East Wall Chinese restaurant located at 3033 w Parker rd ,Plano 75023 Tx, it was terrible food , when walk in we can smell bad drain drainage right away , the food was tasteless and small portion , we have to add soya sauce for every dish plus white rice charged by each small bowl separate , they automatically add 20% tips ,the service was so bad, the lady has the temper attitude ,the price on the menu was sky rocked, we all know this is the end of an error , no more next time
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
I love their peking duck and noodles!!! I have also catered from here for family events and their food is always a hit! 2 thumbs up from me! :D
google avatar

Laurence R.

Yelp
It was just okay, not great, not bad. The ambiance was strange. Maybe it would have been better take out than dine in?
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Good food. Good value. Good location. Owner-chef-server is always nice. Watch for day off on Mondays.
google avatar

Stephanie X.

Yelp
Some of the best and most authentic Cantonese food I have had in DFW. I was pleasantly surprised! Don't let its unassuming location in a strip mall fool you; it's the real deal. Prices are on the higher end, but the portions are big. The clay pot rice was fragrant and full of Chinese sausage and cured pork belly. You can tell they cooked this the right way from scratch just by how good the rice was (the crispy rice at the bottom was delicious) and how long it took to come out. The salt and pepper pork chop and squid were perfectly fried and seasoned, as was the orange beef. The special fried flounder was a hit as well. My favorite dish was the tofu pot. I would definitely come back again. This place seems popular for takeout, but definitely recommend dining in since of the dishes are best eaten fresh.

David C.

Yelp
The new items are western China pull noddle. Very original! It makes restaurant to another level.
google avatar

Joseph O.

Yelp
It was 86% inside and was unbearable to the point I had to leave .. food was ok but the experience was unbearable and one of the worst dining experience I ever endured
google avatar

Katherine X.

Yelp
Not the best experience to celebrate my mom's birthday. We were the first table to sit down but our food took 1 hour+ to serve. We had ordered a crab fried rice and during the middle of service also asked for white rice but the waitress kept pointing at the fried rice, telling us we had plenty. We just wanted white rice bc the food was a bit salty and they ended up charging .50 cent per bowl. I'm not sure I'd go back. For the most part food was decent a little over seasoned but still edible. We did take most of it home. Peking duck was good, green beans and eggplant were seasoned well, and Mongolian beef was soft.
google avatar

Nathan K.

Yelp
As far as Peking Duck goes here in Texas, this does the job. The duck (best part) is roasted beautifully to crisp skin and doesn't dry the meat. Personally, I prefer the thin Peking duck wraps over the baos, but hey- when in Rome.

Yelp
I just had an amazing dinner here!!! I'm still laughing at the "Karen/Kyle" reviews below that were 1 star that had nothing to do with food quality. Sorry you're an idiot and cut yourself on a staple....FYI staples are not a new invention lol. Also they are open for safe dining-in now! Yay! Now for the real review of the food...the clay pot is a MUST! The crunchy rice at the bottom is sooo good. Flavor is great and not too salty and comes with veggies to mellow out the taste, FYI- the clay pots take 30 mins because they are made fresh. Also had the salt and pepper tofu which was so yummy, perfect crunch and soft texture in the middle, I'm drooling thinking about it again!! The duck was also delicious, nice and juicy and not to mention the service was great, can't expect to be served within seconds and if you're entitled enough to think otherwise you can go make some pizza rolls at home that fit your taste buds and leave all the good food for the rest of us! (: All in all a great experience and can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
We Ordered the Asian new year package for family dinner and it came with tray of crab fried rice , Peking duck with buns and dipping sauce , slather pork chop , fried tofu , beef noodle . It was plentiful for a nice family meal. Wish they have more crab meat in the fried rice , the duck was delicious. So far We were satisfied with the food.

Yelp
When an eat-out night turns into a stay-at-home night, East Wall came in for the rescue! Most takeout finds rarely have salt and pepper squid, and I'm glad they did. A mainstay during my chinatown days of yesteryear, the later and greasier the better. Another favorite of ours was the tofu fried shrimp, with a rich sauce that helped balance the salty crunch!
