"At Elvie’s in Jackson, Mississippi, the menu careens from 'New Orleans-style baked oysters to pork tonkatsu, vegetable lumpia to redfish amandine, shrimp remoulade to cacio e pepe,' as the Times puts it." - ByNavneet Alang

Absolutely loved this spot. Perfect to get Brunch with friends or by yourself like I did today. The servers were phenomenal and knew exactly when to come ask how I was or needed anything! 🤗 I ordered the "Omelette Elveretta" and orange juice (freshly squeezed! 10/10 would recommend and I'm coming back to try other dishes! Best part, once you pay they gift you the cutest postcard from them! I'm keeping it 🥰

I officially blew the food budget tonight... but honestly, no regrets. Holly and I had a rare night off together, and we spent it exactly where we always end up when we want something special — Elvie's. It’s our favorite spot for a reason. Every dish feels intentional. Fresh, seasonal, layered. Like someone actually cares about how it tastes and how it makes you feel. That’s rare. They surprised us tonight (maybe because it’s my birthday week?) with a fried plantain amuse bouche topped with country ham and a drizzle of honey. And then closed it all out with a candlelit orange sorbet with candied peel. Classy, thoughtful, and just plain kind. The Snapper Thermidor was perfectly cooked and poured tableside. Delicate but full of flavor. The buttered spring onions it came with might’ve been the most underrated part of the night. Holly’s steak was a knockout. Cooked exactly right. And I’m not saying I stole a lot of her duck fat fries... but I definitely didn’t stop at one. Still, the surprise highlight might’ve been the Grilled Peach Salad. Burrata, candied pecans, fermented honey. It was bright and peppery and somehow tasted like late spring and early summer got together and made something magic. And don’t get me started on the onion butter. I would write a love song about that butter. I’d vote for it. I’d build it a statue. Elvie’s, thank you for making us feel seen, celebrated, and well-fed. You’re a Mississippi gem, and tonight was one of those small-but-big memories we’ll hang onto. Fried Plantain country ham / honey Bread & Butter sourdough / house made onion butter / radishes MS Grilled Peach Salad burrata / candied pecans / fermented honey / basil Steak Frites 10 oz bavette / maitre d’ butter / duck fat fries Snapper Thermidor buttered spring onions / parmesan crisp / sauce thermidor Orange Sorbet candied orange / candle

So..I’m a bit late on this review since we took this date evening out in October of last year but the food’s so good I had to post it when I was looking back through my photos and found it. 🤙🏽 I have to admit that this review is the one that teaches me always write down things I order if I love em and take a pic. I can’t remember the names of our seasonal drink choices or main courses, but I can tell you that my wife had a type of redfish almondine and I had lamb carbonara. That plate presentation was straight 🔥, as shown, and I can’t say enough about the culinary beauty on display. Even our sides, shiitake mushrooms and Brussels sprout respectively, were plated and prepared with professional excellence. All in all, a 10/10 experience that we look forward to enjoying again. P.S. They also host the Good Bar in the BTC outside seating area so if you want to relax outside after a meal they’ve got that covered too. 🤙🏾

Maggie and team gave us great service a couple of weeks ago when our work team dinner went from 6to 7 people. They didn’t miss a beat accommodating the extra person and were so patient with our picky group. Everyone enjoyed their meal and raved about the beautiful space and kind service. My meal was delicious and don’t skip dessert- everything was lovely!

Elvie's is a great hidden gem in the fact that I feel it is a very much unknown restaurant in the Jackson area. I find it to be a great restaurant that serves mid range to high end fare at prices that are more midrange cost. Their breakfast food will definitely catch your nose and your mouth and drag you right in. They also have great lunch options also. The service is also very good and was adequately fast. The atmosphere is very nice also. Definitely go in and check them out if you have a chance.

What a delight to eat an elevated meal in my old hometown. Elvie's menu is simple, boasting flavors that keep diners smiling. My friend and I enjoyed oysters, tartare, the pork chop, and sides of mushroom and tomatoes. As an industry veteran of Chicago, I can truly state that the food was delectable. Excellent wine and cocktail list as well, although, with the heat wave, I found that the red wines I ordered tended to be on the warm side. They'd have been superior with the meal if they were chilled properly. Lovely, attentive service. Charming southern atmosphere--and it definitely is hopping during the weekend dinner rush as I could barely hear my friend once the restaurant filled. I look forward to my return. Thank you for the meal!

We arrived for a 9AM opening. A sign on the door said,”open @10”. We along with many others waited (across the street at the coffee shop-great experience). At 10AM we entered the restaurant and were seated. We were met by our server who was obviously disturbed and indicated that it was “going to be real long day”, in the most unwelcoming manner possible. We ordered. The plates came quickly. There was no doubt that the scrambled eggs, the home fries and the bacon all had been “pre cooked”. Eggs were cool and under cooked. Potatoes were frankly cold and bacon that was requested to be well done and crispy was cool and nearly raw. There was no inquiry as to our satisfaction with our orders. We were then met with a very cold,” It looks like you’re ready for your check”. That was the understatement of the morning. We understand that there may have been unforeseen issues with kitchen staff. However, the subsequent horrific “execution” and “personal service” resulted in an exponential level of dissatisfaction. This dynamic should be seen as the diametrically opposite of the desired experience within the service industry.

Cute eclectic bistro with attention to ALL the details. Stopped for brunch on our way through Jackson and will gladly make a detour to come again. The French omelette with oysters was divine. Perfectly executed with a gorgeous, fresh hollandaise. The pork belly in the Eggs Cochon was very, very good, though the dish was sweeter than I expected. Cocktails were well-made and served timely. The Bloody Mary was excellent!
