Enoteca - Review - Ketchum - Sun Valley - The Infatuation

"You’ll definitely want to make a reservation at this popular Main Street spot, otherwise, you might be told to come back in two hours, and even then have to sit at the bar. The wait is worth it, though, for great Italian dishes and standout pizzas. Come with a group or date and get Nonna’s Mac and Cheese, Idaho trout, lasagne al forno, and one of their seasonal pies (if they have it, try the Wine Auction, with EVOO, grapes, gorgonzola, caramelized onions, arugula, and balsamic drizzle). Try to snag the one table by the window that faces Main Street to sip an Italian red while watching people haphazardly ping-pong between two of the town’s only bars." - Hayden Seder

The 15 Best Sun Valley Restaurants to Try Right Now | Eater

"Located in the heart of Ketchum, Enoteca features a large central wood-fired oven perfect for pumping out Napoletano-style pizzas, as well as a whole menu of wood-roasted New American dishes with an Italian bent. Start with the bacon-wrapped dates and move on to the Pizza Diavola with tomato sauce, spicy coppa, fennel, and manchego cheese, or maybe the Wine Auction pie topped with grapes, gorgonzola, and caramelized onions. Reservations are recommended, as indoor seating is limited due to CDC spacing recommendations and there is no outdoor seating. For those who can’t snag a reservation, takeout is also available, though the restaurant suggests calling on the earlier side to reserve one of the precious allotment of nightly pies." - Scott Wink

Excellent! Best porkchop and Brussels I've had at a restaurant. Trout didn't have a ton of flavor, but the panko crust was good.

Google
A very cozy and calm place with a warm atmosphere. The service is top notch—the staff is very attentive to your every need. We had the Lamb Chops, Nonna’s Mac and Cheese, and also the daily Halibut special. We followed up with their affogato as a dessert (which is a must-have, by the way). The food was all delicious and cooked to perfection. I believe anyone that may be visiting Sun Valley needs to treat themselves to Enoteca. You know the spot is good when you have local regulars coming through.

Google
Excellent meal. Cozy atmosphere. I've been here 4 or 5 times and it's always great. Plus local beer selection made in Ketchum.

Google
In town for 4 nites and our best two meals were at Enoteca. Perfect mix of fine dining without being pretentious. The room is cozy and warm. We tried two of the pizzas, the bison, the chicken and mama's salad. They have a great chef. Melanie was delightful as our server the first nite. You can't go wrong. Enoteca deserves all the great reviews. Book ahead, not easy to get in.

Google
Enoteca in Sun Valley is a fantastic spot for a night out. The food is top-notch, with a well-crafted menu that pairs perfectly with their excellent wine selection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting—sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. Whether you're in the mood for a full dinner or just a glass of wine and small plates, Enoteca delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic night out with the family. The atmosphere and overall ambiance of this cute mountain town restaurant hit the spot. I had one of there daily special pizzas, it was amazing, my wife had the pork chop, tried hers out it was flavored to perfection. The in laws had lamb and New York steak both look good as well. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Sun Valley.

Saeed Ghadessi

Google
Very inviting restaurant and bar worth visiting. They have a large selection of pizzas as well as daily specials that are worth trying. Service was good and attentive. The beer and wine selection was very eclectic and fun.

Google
Great place for dinner. The Idaho Trout was delicious. Also their pizza is light, with fresh ingredients and so good we couldn’t stop eating it even with full bellies. One thing to note, Idaho is a control state when it comes to liquor so you won’t find spirits here. Just wine and beer. Overall great experience.

Yelp
For sure One of the top restaurants in our valley. A Favorite of ours and many of the cloaca's and tourists as it offers great vibe, wonderful service and fantastic eats. Always a great to visit and enjoy their hospitality. Go and enjoy the many options they offer.

Yelp
Cozy wine bar with wood fired pizzas and more upscale entree options as well. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. For a starter, we tried their winter salad which was also amazing - topped with squash, beets, pecans, Gorgonzola and likely one of the best salads I've ever had. We tried the special pizza which had chicken, shrimp, bacon, banana peppers, and a pesto drizzle. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Tip: definitely make a reservation. This place is very popular among both the locals and tourists!

Yelp
Food was amazing - ordered one of their specialty pizzas and it did not disappoint. Over I'd rate it a 4.5/5 . Service wasn't bad but was a little chaotic and unorganized. (I think a server was unexpectedly covering the host stand too). Overall it was a good experience and I will be back.

Yelp
Enoteca was our favorite restaurant in Ketchum. The atmosphere and service are awesome. I had the lamb chops, they were some of the best I've ever had. My friends had the duck confit, they licked their plates, also the chicken dish was a hit. Our salads were excellent as well. The wine list had some good Italian wines, we had two bottles. Our server was so good, she knew her wines. I wish this restaurant was in SF, I can't wait to come back on my next visit. Although we didn't have the pizzas I will order next time. Do make reservations ahead, was hard to get in. We ended the meal with a nice glass of port.

Yelp
Sometimes it pays to be a solo diner. I am in Sun Valley for the Writers' Conference and it had been a long hot, intellectually stimulating, but very busy Sunday, for the record i looked like a rag-a-muffin. A local friend recommended this wine bar and I remember coming in with my dad in 2017 and getting the most awesome pizza and wine. This place was clearly booked solid and groups without reservations were getting turned away in droves. I decided to be bold and inquire about a spot for one at the bar anyway, prepared to be turned away. The lovely hostess frowned at her reservation book... "I will eat fast. " I prodded and i think i committed to being in and out in 25 minutes. She smiled and said she would see what she could do. A guy, who I think was the manager came to tell her that chef was slammed and laughed when she told him I would be gone in 25 minutes... " Are you eating , or just here for a drink?" I confirmed the former and things were not looking good for me. Then he looked up and took pity on me. The hostess led me to a bar stool and I contemplated the menu wedged between two couples. I was so happy to be there and the bar staff was phenomenal. I ordered one of the Specials- Northwest Petrale Sole with Basmati rice and a watermelon/ jicama salsa. My iced tea glass was refilled constantly and I just kept gulping it down. My meal was the best one I have eaten this summer. I have always been impressed with the restaurants in the Ketchum/Sun Valley area and particularly innovative pairings of local fish and game and produce. My plate was gorgeous and the fish was perfectly grilled crisp, but flaky/ delicate, just as sole should be. The piece was small but quite thick. The added crunchiness from the cool watermelon and mild nuttiness of the jicama played well with the delicate fluffy rice. Watermelon alone would have been overly sweet and adding light starchy jicama and slightly bitter wilted spinach was a revelation. Tiny pecan pieces sprinkled on the edge of the plate brought more crunch and especially complimented the fluffy scattered rice. Being a Bsy Area girl, I am often underwhelmed by meals when I travel. My plan had been to hit a grocery store and put together a quick charcuterie paper plate to eat in my room. I am so glad that I didn't shrink away from having a great experience, just because I was traveling alone. If I had come in with a date, or friend, I never would have gotten to try Enoteca again! Thank you so much to the awesome staff. This place seemed to be a good mix of tourists and locals. I feel super lucky to have had the chance to have a seat at the table... er sorry at the bar.

Yelp
We chose Enoteca for a special occasion and left feeling a little flat. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates with Gorgonzola, which were outstanding but it went downhill from there. The pizza was very burnt on the edges, which spread a burnt toast taste further into the pizza. The chicken special was supposed to be Greek/Mediterranean style but was very bland.

Yelp
Had a 7:45 reservation, and we were tired and hungry from a long day of traveling, so we showed up early.... At 7:20. They sat us, without problem. Hostess was friendly and our server was an unexpected treat. Great wine list, and they will give you a taste of something if you aren't sure what you want. I had a great glass of Prosecco. My husband had the pork scallopini with polenta and it was the best scallopini dish we have ever tasted! I had the pizza special- steak, red peppers, wild mushrooms and bechamel sauce, it was very good. Plus my side of brussel sprouts! I thought about making a reservation for another night as well!! Insider tip- make a reservation in advance on Resy!
google avatar

Sonja M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, one of the best spots in town! First of all, make a reservation! A week in advance is good. However, they were kind about trying to fit in newcomers. Bacon-wrapped dates were phenomenal! Salmon special was perfectly cooked.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, incredible food & great service. So many amazing wines to choose from, I had the Sangiovese blend & the lamb. Always a must when I visit Ketchum.

Beverly T.

Yelp
I have been once and enjoyed it. My friends all go regularly and love the food and they highly recommend to everyone.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant we ate at in Ketchum. Service was excellent, food was great, atmosphere was fantastic. We had a group of 5 (plus 1 vegan), and the 5 decided to order family style so we could try a little of everything. There wasn't a single dish that disappointed! I can't recall everything that was ordered, but highlights include the pizza of the day, bison ribeye, lamb chops, bacon wrapped dates, and most importantly a side order of potato a gratin. It came out in the shape of a slice of pie, and was so delicious!
google avatar

Heidi P.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere was great. We tried the duck, seafood pizza, boar ragu, and the star of the show, the spicy meatball.

Yelp
First time visit to Ketchum. A local said this was his favorite restaurant and it's obvious why. Great vibe and service. The Idaho trout with salad, ostrich, and duck were beautifully presented and delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Enoteca served us wonderful food with great service, even on such a busy night as New Year's Eve. The clams and the burrata appetizers were great starters. We all enjoyed our dinners. The scallops were perfectly browned and deliciously sauced, the meatballs were so tender and perfectly seasoned over spaghetti. Lovely entree, but we miss having them as an appetizer choice. We also enjoyed the Mercantile pizza made with spicy lamb sausage. We accompanied it all with a beautiful red wine blend. And who could resist the chocolate cake to go? It was a full house, but the perfect place for dinner.

Yelp
This is probably the best place in Ketchum. I ate here twice on my most recent trip. Combined, I've probably been here 15-20 times over the past few years. The duck is excellent, the salmon is some of the best I've had anywhere, the trout and braised short ribs are great as well. Never skip the carrot cake. Didn't have any issues on this last trip with getting a table 20 minutes before the kitchen closed (both nights.... Sorry). I typically eat at the bar but didn't feel rushed out of there as the restaurant neared closing time.

Mindi A.

Yelp
This place was incredible! The ambiance, food, and service was outstanding and the server was very knowledgeable about the gluten free options available. The prices were also very reasonable for the excellent top quality food served. I would highly recommend this place!

Emmalie G.

Yelp
Enoteca is an adult-oriented experience for sure. If you're coming to drink wine, I'm sure it's a five-star experience. I came with my family of six, ranging from 12-47 years old, and none of us were super pleased with the food. First, there is nothing to drink but water, San Pellegrino, and homemade root beer and ginger ale. I loved the san pellegrino, personally, but the 12 and 15 year old wanted a Dr. Pepper. Haha. It was then that I scolded my mother for not looking at the menu more closely before making a reservation. I definitely wouldn't come to this restaurant if you have kids. I had the Wine Auction pizza, and it was decent, but not great. Way too peppery, but I loved the grapes. I've had better pizzas at other restaurants. My boyfriend had a side of their mac n' cheese, and he didn't like it much. I tried it and agreed with him. Very bland and didn't even taste that cheesy. My mother, her sister, and I, all had the brussels sprouts as a side, and all three of us didn't like it at all. I was really sad about that too, because I love brussels sprouts. My mom and her sister had the Margarita pizza, and they enjoyed it. My 12 year old cousin had the spaghetti and meatballs, and he thought it was decent, but not great. Overall, we wouldn't go back here. If I wanted to sit down at the bar and drink wine, I'd definitely come back. The ambiance was beautiful and low-lit, but the tables (and the restaurant) were pretty cramped. The bar area was beautiful, though. The service was good, though. I know this restaurant has great reviews, so maybe we just ordered the wrong things, or maybe we just have bad taste! The price is way too high for the experience we had. Needless to say, we probably won't be back.

Yelp
I ordered a Strega pizza for pickup. Just a few words of warning...(1) have plenty to drink on hand; 2) expect a salty piece of cardboard; and (3) expect a 15% gratuity charge...in addition...staff expects an additional tip for pickup!!! I have been alive for 62 years and eat pizza on a regular basis all over the U.S. This ranks in the top 1% of worst "pizzas" EVER tasted. Do yourself a favor if U plan to visit this establishment...drink heavily before ordering their dehydrated flatbread called pizza You'll thank me later...
google avatar

Allee S.

Yelp
We spent forever trying to choose between the Italian restaurants in town, so happy we picked this one! All the bigger plates were delicious! Highly recommend the scallopini.
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
Decent spot, wish I could give this 5 stars but I've been here 3 times and the service has always been horrible but love the ambiance, will likely try it again but I don't have high hopes! Food is good

jenifer r.

Yelp
I normally love Enoteca! However my experience the other night was very disappointing. When we arrived they told us our table wasn't quite ready...no big deal. However...once we sat down they shoved our food down our throats....I felt rushed us the whole evening. When I asked them to slow it down they coped an attitude. Not a very fun experience.
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
So glad we were able to snag a reservation here during our trip. The pizza was great, but it was actually the cheese and prosciutto plate and buratta that were our favorites. Also highly recommend the trout. Will definitely eat here again the next time we are in Ketchum.
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
Enoteca is our go to restaurant in Ketchum and we eat here at least once a week when we're in town. Can't believe I've never left a review! The food is always delicious and the service outstanding. Bar seating is always fun. Between the servers and others seated at the bar, we've had some great conversations. Favorite starters include bacon wrapped dates, Brussel sprouts and rosemary flatbread. Love their pizza (especially the Pizza Diavolo) and their specialty pizza of the day is always interesting and delicious. Whenever Boar Ragu is on the menu I always order it and eat every bite. My other favorite is the Duck Confit with risotto. Husband also loves the oysters which come from various locations throughout the country. Chocolate Budino or Panna Cotta for dessert. Yum. Extensive wine list. We've found plenty of favorites based on staff recommendations. Reservations made well in advance is a good idea.

Brooke D.

Yelp
Food great! Service not bad. The restaurant is small, cozy. Tables close together; almost too close for conversation. We got the trout - and lasagna- both excellent. Trout best I've had anywhere. Don't like the self pay-as if it's too much trouble to process your card. I also want the server to get my tips , not the restaurant. Only disappointment was the Brussels sprouts- mushy like cabbage almost not crunchy roasted. Not a winner at nine bucks!
google avatar

Zermin A.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner here. THE BREAD is to die for! Whether it is the rosemary flat bread or the pizza crust (bread) this guys make it best! The lamb chops with the hazelnut pesto with the huckleberry reduction has to be one of the best lamb chops I've had. The ambiance is perfect. Great selection of wine Knocked off a star because the service was slow. This maybe Covid related. But it took a while to catch our servers attention.
google avatar

Jordan L.

Yelp
This place was great! I'll admit, we were underdressed and a little rushed as we were trying to make a movie. The food was great, service and staff were fabulous. I'd plan to come and really enjoy yourself here. A great sit down option here in Sun Valley!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
In town to snowboard for the weekend, Read some good reviews of this place so we decided to try it. We had a reservation for an earlier time but due to flight delays we could not come till an hour later and they were very accommodating. I had the duck confit with risotto and side of brussel sprouts. The skin on the duck was crispy and seasoned well. My friend had the kale salad and Idaho trout. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection and we all enjoyed our food. We would definitely return. Update, came here during the summer. Had the lamb chops which were pretty small compared to other places I've had lamb chops and got the brussel sprouts again. The food was cooked well and our party enjoyed our meal. All the staff wore masks and they properly socially distanced is in the restaurant from the other diners

Steven K.

Yelp
Food very good,a little pricey. Service acceptable, ambience noisy and crowded, expected for a bistro style restaurant
google avatar

lisa s.

Yelp
Unfortunately our evening was less then planned. Have dined here before a few times and always pleased. Tonight we had 2 beautiful dishes the bacon wrapped dates were divine and the prosciutto and melon was on par, very yummy. The main course we ordered was the pork chops with polenta. It came and the polenta had zero flavor none. This needs to be creamy, buttery have some love given it was less than mediocre it had zero flavor other than stocks of rosemary. I usually only order pork chops if I love the side cause most the time pork chops are a Nice protein but not a lot of flavor. I absolutely hate sending dishes back but there wasn't much to work with and explained to our server, and she seemed to be very understanding. The next minute she came back and said the chef is willing to give you another side back with your pork chops and by the way they already removed the dish from the table. Oh you wanna give us back our pork chops with something else ? Wow a nice place that says that is absolutely embarrassing! The server had a totally different attitude and was very cold. We said no would rather have the short ribs. The come back was well it will take 25 minutes with a lot of attitude. This says the chef has a ego and the management doesn't know how to deal with less than standard food. It happens sometimes amazing chefs miss the point. The cost in this meal polenta and pork was maybe a $10 cost hit. Instead now what you have is me writing a shit review and losing a customer. Ego cost the place a return customer that had been very happy until This happened. Being shunned and shamed by a staff cause the chef missed up one dish ? Very very sad !

Holly W.

Yelp
Wonderful ambience, excellent service and delicious food, all in downtown Ketchum. Thank you!
google avatar

Sven B.

Yelp
Fabulous restaurant. Sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal. Bar staff was wonderful and helped select great wine matches. Beautiful space with great character and big windows. For a special date try to reserve the window seats.
google avatar

Gayle L.

Yelp
What a great meal! The pork was so good, I savored every bite. My husband got the lamb and said it was 5 stars. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Jeffery G.

Yelp
We dined here during our recent visit to Sun Valley. So glad we went! This is a very lively place with wonderful selections of food and beverages. I read of some complaints about service, but we had no issues at all. The only difference with other places was that we didn't have one particular waiter or waitress. It was a team effort, but we never felt neglected. I had the halibut (one of the specials) and it was fabulous! We will absolutely go back the next time we're in Sun Valley!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Every time we go to Ketchum we try to do one dinner at Enoteca. The staff here is wonderful and the food is top notch. Everything comes out in a timely manner and I am always left satisfied. You have to make a reservation ahead of time because they fill up quickly. Hands down one of our favorite places to eat in Ketchum.

Robin M.

Yelp
Lively place that caters to both tourists and locals - but if you're not a local, prepare to be rushed through your dining experience. Management is so focused on the table flips that we were there barely an hour before we got our check banged on the table like it was some lowdown diner. We hadn't finished our wine. We're not ones to linger while there is a waiting list for guests, but staff was obviously in a rush to get us out. Not the place you want to go for a relaxing meal. Winter salad and Lambchops were good, the wild boar sorely lacking.
google avatar

Cameron K.

Yelp
My family has been going here for years. We are treated like old friends. Adelaide is an amazing hostess! She makes everyone feel like family. We love the bacon wrapped dates, the pizza, and we often finish with an Affogato. All of the pastas are delicious too. The lasagna is a must. The ambience is cool and warm at the same time you must go.

Leona A.

Yelp
It is after Thanksgiving and before Christmas--perfect time to dine out in Ketchum. Everything was prepared well and delicious tonight. Hubby and I split a salad and the clams. I had the duck confit and he had the pizza special with duck. We ended our meal with an apple clafoutis and salted caramel gelato. Service was attentive and timely. Look forward to going back soon!
google avatar

Andres G.

Yelp
This place is great, I would 100% come back. My only complaint is that I was a little dark for my personal taste on the inside, but I do understand their reasoning for doing it.
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
Great wine bar with food to match. We went as a large group. The wild boar ragu was delicious, everyone wanted a bite. The lamb was good, typical small chops. The duck confit was also good, rissotto a touch bland. The pizza is excellent- crust could be a bit darker, but overall great flavor. Wine list is long. The server was lovely, she didn't know much about wine which was her only downfall. Understandable in a ski town.
google avatar

S D.

Yelp
One of the nicer restaurants in Ketchum and a nice break from the steak houses, saloons and dive bars. We came to Enoteca for dinner while in town for a wedding and had a great experience. The staff was super accommodating with our delayed flight in and pushed back our reservation for us (twice). Both our waiter and our sommelier were friendly and knowledgeable. We got the rosemary flatbread (which is not a pizza FYI, more like the most amazing soft crackers you've ever had - pictured) to start and I got the chicken. I can't remember for the life of me what my husband got (carbonara maybe?), but I can promise you he loved it. Exceptional all around. Highly recommend for dinner.
google avatar

Jackie W.

Yelp
Enoteca is the ideal restaurant for special occasions. The food is exquisite while the ambiance beautiful and intimate. Our waiter, David, was so helpful in helping us select a bottle of Italian red wine that paired perfectly with our duck. I'm a hard sell for duck because it's often fatty and/or dry, and this duck confit with Marsala wine sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The brussels sprouts had a subtle but noticeable tang of goat cheese with smoky bacon. We finished our lovely dinner with the affogato, which might be our new favorite dessert. Smooth, robust espresso with sweet, creamy ice cream rounded out our evening perfectly without feeling too heavy.

Katie C.

Yelp
Similar to rickshaw, they take classics and put a spin on it. My favorite are the bacon wrapped dates and bruschetta with flatbread. Takes a while to get a reservation, or wait an hour to sit at the bar. Otherwise, check it out!
google avatar

Sandy R.

Yelp
Loved it. Good. Wine selection. Service. Fun atmosphere in Ketchum. Try it. Maje reservations it gets super busy
google avatar

Korin V.

Yelp
The interior is super cute. A little wine bar with great service. Our waiter was delightful, attentive and friendly. We were seated quickly and ordered a delicious bottle of Pinot noir! We ordered the wild boar Ragu which had a great flavor and reminded me of a stew. The noodles could have been cook a little more but the sauce made up for it. My man had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly. The flavor was amazing. Definitely would recommend. Wonderful ambiance, friendly service and good food!
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
On our way back to Sun Valley from a hike, our family got stuck behind a mudslide and could no longer make our reservation time. The staff waited and hour and 20 minutes for us to arrive. We finally arrived around their closing time and they still sat us. The service was wonderfully attentive, and the waitress gave menu recommendations for multiple dairy intolerances. The duck confit and the roasted chicken leg were both great and both were adjusted to be dairy free. At the end of all of this, the staff removed the wines from our tab for my fathers birthday. The food here is amazing, but the staff is incredible!!! Will be returning as soon as possible.

God S.

Yelp
Great service, great food. They have a large menu and you can order a whole @ss chicken.
google avatar

Marie I.

Yelp
Eating there solo, I was offered a seat at the bar. Great service and good food. I had the pesto, mushroom pizza. Crust was very thin and too few mushrooms IMHO, but good dish despite this fact. Great Pino Nero.

Tiffani Keyeanna B.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! They have the best fresh baked bread and cheese. My fav is the wine auction pizza. Sometimes the chef will let you order to go if they aren't busy! Eating at the restaurant is fun but it can get noisy and hard to hear each other. Reservation are a must other wise you probably won't get in.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our favorite place in Sun Valley. Everything on the menu was delicious and our favorite item is not pictured but was the bacon wrapped dates. We sat at the bar and were very impressed with the service for the bartenders. We will definitely be back.
