Angel’s Tijuana Tacos in Echo Park serves up mouthwatering, fire-grilled tacos and burritos with fresh, homemade tortillas and a vibrant salsa bar for late-night cravings.
"Angel’s Echo Park operation is just two minutes from the stadium entrance, so even if there’s a line around 5pm, you’ll still make it inside before the first pitch. Hop in line for pressed-to-order corn tortillas, trompos of juicy al pastor, and salsas that make your lips tingle. Both the braised cabeza and ultra-crispy asada are excellent. Just be sure to order at least one of them inside a crispy, gooey quesotaco quickly kissed on the griddle. Then head up the hill to make everyone in your section jealous of the marinated pork smells coming from your to-go container." - sylvio martins, nikko duren
"As much as you love (and support) your neighborhood taco truck, if you’re trying to mix things up tonight, look no further than Angel’s Tijuana Tacos. The Mexican taquero has four different locations throughout the city (each with varying opening times) so be sure to check their Instagram before you head over to the al pastor haven. Cut straight from a beautiful, glistening trompo out front, the pork here is soft and succulent, but never too fatty, and is topped with an excellent mix of cilantro, onions, avocado salsa, and just a dash of pineapple. Get the cheese-filled vampiro, if you’re feeling indulgent." - kat hong
"The lines at this taqueria get long, and we mean long. If you’re in the mood for birria but a Dodger game just got out? Forget about it. However, if you’re willing to wait (or come on any other day), make sure to get some meat from that sweet, rotating trompo out front. The marinated pork coming off it is beyond tender, filled with a smoky flavor and pineapple juices dripping from the chunks at the top. Pair this with a crispy, fried queso taco shell and you’ve got yourself a doubleheader." - brant cox, sylvio martins
"Don’t worry if you missed your exit on the I-10 (twice), you’re probably still less than 20 minutes away from an Angel’s Tacos. With 12 locations between Long Beach and Sylmar, Angel’s remains one of LA’s most consistently great taco stand operations, with pressed-to-order tortillas, huge trompos of juicy al pastor, and bright salsas that make your lips tingle. Both the braised cabeza and ultra-crispy asada are excellent, and be sure to get at least one of them inside a crispy, gooey quesotaco that quickly kisses the griddle. Yes, there’s no seating, but when in LA, do as the Angelenos do (eat on your car)." - brant cox, nikko duren, garrett snyder, sylvio martins
"Look for the row of string lights along Sunset Boulevard to find Angel’s Tijuana Tacos, which sets up in Echo Park every day except for Monday. On the menu find tacos, burritos, vampiros, and more with the options of asada, pollo, chorizo, al pastor, or cabeza. Open from 4:30 p.m. until midnight, it’s a great late-night spot to check out, but be aware that lines can get long around Dodgers games." - Rebecca Roland, Eater Staff
