Fatt Pundit Review - Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"Covent Garden is one of those central locations that you often find yourself in without forward-planning. And when you do, Fatt Pundit is a decent back-up restaurant. It’s an Indo-Chinese spot with lamb chops we’d like the recipe for. The rest of the menu, however, is hit and miss. One day you’ll find that the sticky sesame vegetables are spicy and crisp, and another they’ll be overcooked and sickly sweet. Nothing is straight-up awful, but there are plenty more spots in the area where you can get a better meal. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch During the day it’s easy to walk in but it can feel dark and claustrophobic so dinner is the move. In the evening you’ll have to shout a little to have a conversation and it can all be a bit chaotic. But if you're in a big group, then the downstairs room is an ideal spot to spend an evening, especially when you’ve left it too late to go to any of your first choices in the area. Food Rundown photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Crackling Spinach This spinach dish is one of our favourite things on the menu. The crispy spinach is covered in a sweet yoghurt, date, and plum sauce and it’s a great mix of airy and flavourful. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Sticky Sesame Vegetables At best, the sticky sauce is spicy and smoky. At worst, it’s too sweet and the vegetables are tough to bite into. An inconsistent dish that’s not worth the risk. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Bombay Chilli Prawns The sauce on these deep-fried prawns feels like it’s just been squeezed out of a sweet chilli bottle. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Monkfish Malabar Curry The malabar sauce is buttery and smooth, with a hint of sweetness from the coconut and a hefty piece of monkfish that flakes apart nicely. Get it with the bing bread, or the egg szechuan fried rice. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Lamb Chops Meaty, nicely charred, and covered in a masala rub, these are a must-order and our favourite thing here." - Rianne Shlebak

The Best Restaurant Meals of 2023 | Bon Appétit

"A Hakka kitchen that marries Indian and Chinese influences, offering a cozy atmosphere and a menu of snacks like rabbit wonton and goat momo but anchored by a standout shredded chilly venison: slightly chewier than beef yet rich and tender, studded with fiery red peppers and smoky notes, and served with soft, subtly sweet mantou that make the first bites instantly warming." - ByBon Appétit Staff & Contributors

The Best Halal Food for Takeaway and Delivery in London | Eater London

"Bengali style Indo-Chinese food is reasonably spicy and warmingly cheerful, and Fatt Pundit proudly lives up to these expectations. Desi-Chinese food was borne out of the intermingling of Hakka cuisine with traditional Indian elements, producing excitements like chilli paneer lettuce cups, and salt and pepper okra. The pillowy billy momos are particularly memorable, and the ‘lollypop’ chicken with Szechuan chutney is addictive; get some malabar monkfish curry, sesame-spotted vegetables, and burnt ginger rice to have a well-balanced feast that wouldn’t be out of place in Tangra. Fatt Pundit serves halal beef, chicken, and lamb, and is available on Uber Eats and Deliveroo." - Maazin Buhari

London’s Best Indian Restaurants for Eastern Indian Cuisine | Eater London

"A fat pundit may be any rotund scholar, from Buddha to Birbal — but here combining the common Chinese surname Fatt with the Indian word pundit offers a clue to what the restaurant is about: yes, it’s Indian-Chinese. More specifically, it’s Kolkata-Chinese — different from Mumbai-Chinese in that the food is less masala-fied and chilli-fied than the latter. The narrow room makes the place look smaller than it is (there’s more seating in the basement), with a massive steamer in the bar heating up momos continuously. They’re pretty as jewels and beautifully pleated; and the rest of the menu also impresses with no ready-made ‘Chinese’ sauces clinging to everything like in some inferior Indian-Chinese restaurants. There’s soft chilli paneer on lettuce leaves, hakka noodles crunchy with white cabbage, wok-fried crab meat with sweetcorn, and two chicken classics: manchurian and lollipop, all of it aglow with the gentlest of chilli heats, and a garden full of spring onions." - Sejal Sukhadwala

Google
My second visit to Phat Pundit but this time with work colleagues. We essentially had an unlimited budget. We ordered all the Veg dishes, 4 meat main dishes and a couple of Momos. Every single dish was good but the Veg dishes and the lamb chops were amazing. The lamb was well cooked and so tender. The crackling spinach was delicious. My least favourite dishes were the Manchurian chicken and sticky sesame vegetables. If you want to impress someone, on a date, etc this place won't fail.

We were a little late arriving but were politely and swiftly asked to leave when our 1.5hr booking slot was over. The waiter was lovely and guided us to place our order so we had sufficient food. Each dish we had was so tasty, food was spicier than we expected but we coped 😄 I heard the waiter asking other guests if they could eat spicy, he probably asked my sisters at the beginning 😄

We went there on a Saturday night with reservation and gave us a seat at the bar. We really enjoyed the experience. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Ustav was our server, he made our cocktails and took our order. We also made some recommendations regarding spice and recommended we take the crackling spinach dish which was amazing! The goat momos were delicious! Definitely worth the visit and will go again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – Fat Pundit, Berwick Street – A Hidden Gem That Delivers on Every Front Just had the absolute pleasure of dining at Fat Pundit on Berwick Street, and let me tell you – what a brilliant experience from start to finish. The service was spot on – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being over the top. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. The food? Absolutely banging. Flavours that hit all the right notes – bold, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. Every dish was a standout, and you can tell a lot of care goes into what they’re serving. The tea was a lovely touch, and the dessert rounded things off perfectly – just the right amount of indulgent without being too much. And the vibe here? Spot on. Cool, relaxed atmosphere with great energy – whether you’re out with friends or just want a chill bite, it’s got that effortlessly stylish feel without trying too hard. Honestly, I don’t give 10s lightly, but Fat Pundit earns it. Highly recommend – already planning my next visit. Kusma was service as I was on the bar table, so lovely.

We ordered a bunch of dishes and everything was a 10/10 — absolutely delicious! On top of that, our waitress Manisha was so kind, sweet, and incredibly helpful. She truly made the whole experience even better with her warm and attentive service. We’ll definitely be coming back here again. Highly recommend!

Fatt Pundit definitely lives up to the hype. We enjoyed a fantastic dining experience here. Quick and high quality service from the incredible Clayton, plus amazing food and unreal flavours from the efficient kitchen. Will be coming back!

Google
A phenomenal dining experience. I’ve been to Fatt Pundit twice for dinner, and both times the food and service has been exceptional - the best I’ve had in London. The setting is very cosy, but good for both dates and for larger groups. Always quite busy which is a good sign, bookings are usually back-to-back, so expect to wait if you arrive early. You get looked after quickly once seated. I have to commend the service, especially from Manisha - who remembered me from the previous occasion, a true rarity in London, which made me and my friends feel right at home from the start. Manisha also helped us out by recommending the sticky sesame veg instead of the popcorn cauliflower, which was similar to the salt and pepper okra we had already picked. She and the rest of the team made sure our drinks and water were topped up and that any finished dishes were speedily removed. The food comes out fast - almost overwhelmingly so - but each dish is simply wonderful. Our group were happily silent at times, and other times just remarking on how amazing each dish is. If you are adventurous and like spice, this is the perfect spot for you - but don’t worry if you’re not (just mind the chillies!). Standout dishes: the lamb chops (which we all agreed were the best on the night), crackling spinach (the best veggie dish I’ve ever eaten), chilly venison, sticky sesame veg, salt and pepper okra. Both times I’ve been too stuffed to order dessert, which smells amazing. Hopefully next time! I eagerly await the next occasion I dine at Fatt Pundit.

Yelp
A quick walk-in to feed our hungry son was kindly acknowledged by their kind host, who got us a table, as long as we wrapped up dinner within 45 minutes. We took that kind offer and got straight to ordering, as we were seated on a table for three at this tiny, yet cozy Indo-Chinese restaurant. We stuck to their staff recommendation and ordered the Crackling Spinach (£10.20), Chicken Momo (£7.50), Bombay Chilly Prawns (£14.50), and an ultra delicious Vegetable Hakka Noodles (£10) - which absolutely reminded us of the classic Hakka Noodles we get back home in Mumbai. The next best dish was the Crackling Spinach - an absolutely brilliant and refreshing chaat! Service overall was excellent, and noise levels were on the average end. Restaurant was packed to capacity, but food arrived within 20 mins of placing the order.

Yelp
1000/10!! How do I give enough praise for this place? I cannot express how much I love it here: the food, the service, the drinks - absolutely no critiques. This is the BEST meal we've eaten in London, hands down, as well as the best service. First, Mac at Rutul were excellent servers. Very kind and attentive throughout the meal. Mac explained everything very well and was thorough, both of them checked on us throughout the meal. Mac also took time to answer my questions and really made the experience wonderful!! The food... where do I start? Absolutely unbeatable. The beef chili momo in the spicy chili sauce is my favorite. It's my favorite dish potentially EVER, and if they bottled that sauce I would sell my soul to buy it. Please bottle it or sell a cookbook! It's a sharing style, so we had several options to choose from. We had the chicken lollipops, the duck, the Szechuan beef noodles, and the chili prawns. They were all 10/10. If you don't like spice, ask your server what to recommend - these were the perfect light spice without overpowering anything. The prawns and duck had a sticky sweet thing going on that we loved, where as the chicken, noodles and momo had a nice and small kick of spice. The drinks were also fantastic! Some of the best I've had, PERIOD! Great locations available, but we went to the one in Covent Garden, which is always popping: you may not NEED a reservation, but I'd recommend getting one if you're coming on a weekend night, just in case! Good ambiance. Overall, 10/10, highly recommend for some well spiced food in London!!

Yelp
The food was good but the rest of the environment is kind of a let down. To start, you are greeting bya cheesy sleazy looking man who is overbearing and not genuine. He looks like a cross between a d-list nightclub promoter and used car salesman. He sits with his ridiculous hair at the edge of the counter all night working on bills invoices and whatnot. It's very off-putting. This restaurant was not busy at all for prime time dinner service. We were 1 of about 5 tables in there with no one at the counter. Most of the staff were standing around or begrudingly cleaning just waiting the minutes to go home. No one really seemed all that happy. The food was better than anticipated for such a slow restaurant with no vibe. The spinach was very good, so was the soft shell crab. They just sort of need to retool the environment and staffing

Yelp
This is a review of their Maiden Ln location. Very popular place so make sure you try to reserve in advance. We got the crackling spinach, lamb chops, popcorn cauliflower, and the Malabar curry monkfish. The spinach and the cauliflower were great apps, but I think the most impressive was the monkfish and the lamb chops. Monkfish definitely tasted like poor man's lobster and the lamb chops were very nicely spiced and tender. Heed the warning when they say plan 2-3 dishes per person because the portions are like tapas size.

Yelp
Dinner at Fatt Pundit went well. Our server Ruby advised us with number of dishes and portion sizes. Ruby was also very attentive and gave recommendations for wine. My husband did the reservations in advance and I'm glad we were able to try the quaint restaurant in Covent Garden. All the dishes were good except the side broccoli is ok. I would not order that again. My absolute favorite is the crispy spinach and prawn curry. Between two people, we had 6 dishes to share. They are small plates so no judgements!

Yelp
Unique restaurant specializing in Indo-Chinese cuisine in Central London - there are two locations within walking distance to one another (Soho & Covent Garden). Great spots for dinners & dates, though it can fill up pretty quickly especially on weekends so reservations are recommended. The service is friendly and the food is delicious - we especially loved the crackling spinach and monkfish curry.

Yelp
We ate well on our trip to France and the UK. However, one of our favorite meals was at @fattpundit in Soho, London. The restaurant reflects the Indo-Chinese influences seen in Kolkata (Calcutta) after Hakka immigrants from Canton moved there in the 1930s-40s. I'm glad I made reservations a month before because the restaurant was packed and prospective diners were turned away. Our host Merwin soon seated us and gave us recommendations on what to order. We started with their Crackling Spinach with crunchy spinach topped with a sweet yogurt, date & plum sauce and pomegranates. And then we sampled their chicken & beef momos (dumplings), Bing Bread, Kolkata chilli duck, bing bread, Hakka vegetable noodles, and sticky sesame vegetables. Every dish was delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in London.

Yelp
First night in London, we were told we must try this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The service was really great as with the food. Raj and Geet was very attentive. Glad we decided to venture to this little place. My favorite was the Crispy Okra Salt n Pepper. It was seasoned so well. The lamb chops were delicious and very tender. I loved how they bring the dessert (vegan sizzling brownie with Madagascan vanilla ice cream) to the table and prepare in front of you. Great presentation and unfortunately I cannot attached video. Great restaurant and so worth visiting!

Yelp
Meh! The food is over seasoned and pretty oily. We got super excited to come here for lunch while walking around in the neighborhood after an afternoon of shopping. We split the spinach and vegetable appetizer and got the burnt garlic fried rice. I think the rice was the best dish. Everything else was forgettable. The bartender was super friendly and a nice guy!

Yelp
Each dish was absolutely worth it! Heartily impressed! Hakka-meets-India well executed

Yelp
Still an excellent restaurant. I went to the other location near Convent. - the fried chicken is excellent, especially with spicy sauce - the fried okra is ridiculously good - the fried rice is OK, but a bit bland - the brownie is extremely delicious, just overly fatty Overall, excellent food here and cocktails. The downstairs is a bit depressing with darkness, but the food is just too good.

Yelp
I'm getting excited just writing this. Fatt Pundit is Indian-Chinese fusion, and we luckily walked in and got a table right before the 8pm dinner rush. Everything was so so good, and the 5 chutneys/sauces they served with the food made it instantly better. The chicken lollipops were DELICIOUS, and my friends favorite item was the chicken momos. The fried okra was really good especially if you like okra and the bing was tasty. I wish I could've come back to try things other than fried foods, but I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

Yelp
We were looking forward to our reservation and we were not disappointed at all! They seem to have lots of seating on two floors, I would however recommend booking reservations in case you want to ensure you get to try it out if you're not from the area! The food options at this restaurant are well ranged. The service was perfect and staff is super attentive! They make sure to ask if you're comfortable with seating and offer some important info about the food after you sit down. We tried the mixed vegetable momo, crackling spinach, beef Stir fry szechuan noodles, manchurian chicken, sizzling brownie. Mixed Vegetable Momo: I have to say the momos were my least favorite out from everything we tried. They were tasty enough but I ultimately felt they lacked a little more flavor. I feel that perhaps the beef or chicken momos would have been more flavorful. Crackling Spinach: They were super crunchy and the sauce and pomegranates on top made for deliciously balanced/well rounded vegetable dish! One of our favorites. Beef Stir Fry Szechuan noodles: Great flavor for a staple dish! Manchurian chicken: I believe this is the one that had a bit of a kick! It was so delicious and paired perfectly with the szechuan noodles! Sizzling brownie: A decadent dessert that comes out piping (sizzling) hot! The ice cream on top goes amazing with the hot dense brownie. I will mention I could do with a little bit of a bigger scoop of vanilla ice cream as the last few bites of the brownie had to miss out on the cold/hot combination. Overall, very delicious and perfect for sharing. Food: 4.7/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.8/5

Yelp
Food: a great Indo Chinese restaurant fusing Chinese with Indian; the Momos (steamed dumplings) were all good; the Crackling Spinach (sweet yogurt, date & plum sauce, pomegranate) was amazing Service: great, timely service Design: interiors is very cozy with a modern feel and hints of Indian & Chinese accents/colors/textures Overall: if you want a unique experience tasting great Indo Chinese food, then this is a must-eat place to go

Yelp
Made reservations to go here. Got here early but was not seated and was told we had to back at our reservation time even though the restaurant had availability. This place is close to Covenant garden so you can walk around to kill time. Restaurant is small, and felt like we were all squeezed in. It's two levels, top had tables and bar, downstairs has kitchen, tables and restrooms. We were seated downstairs and it was full. Service started off great. We placed orders for drinks and food. They cater for allergies which is always a plus. We ordered the chicken and veggie momos which were cold like they had been sitting out for a while. Rabbit wontons were spicy but tasty. Lamb was a hit, it was juicy and flavorful. Hakka noodles were yum reminded me of a place in Singapore that made those street type noodles. Monk fish had a funky flavor and had an after taste which was difficult to point out what it was. Bread was decent. Place is cute with its Deco etc. Sitting downstairs, poor ventilation your clothes do smell of food. Place did get busy and service got slow. Our server was awesome and very helpful which they had more staff downstairs. Overall good experience and yes, worth the hype.

Yelp
This was such a great place to eat. Wonderful service, food and reasonably priced. I have already recommended it to my friends visiting London.

Yelp
Expensive and small portions. Indo-Chinese food was different. Ordered: 1. Popcorn Cauliflower- super small battered cauliflower. Not even a full floret just small pieces like the size of a babies toe. 2. Crackling spinach- fried spinach again small portion 3. Bombay Chilly Prawns - 2 shrimp in a great sauce. Really great sauce but small portion big price -only 2 shrimp 4. Lollypop Chicken - spicy yummy sweet sauce only a few drums and small size 5. Naan - ordinary and again small power for price 6. Rice- ordinary and small for price 8. Ribeye- small and expensive Service was great but food was subpar. They even gave us a card with a QR code to review on Google. Really??? Rather go to Chinatown or an Indian restaurant than return here. We left hungry after paying 120 gbp and went to eat elsewhere again.

Yelp
Pls DON'T EVER COME HERE The food made me very sick the next day My stomach kept hurting and I feel nauseous My expectations were high but I was wrong And the people do not have a clean washroom

Yelp
Came here during our visit to London after seeing some Instagram posts. I couldn't find a reservation on their website so I emailed and they were able to find a spot for 2 for 5:30. When we got there, they couldn't find the reservation, but quickly made us a spot! The ambiance was super cute inside -- definitely a good date spot. Downstairs area seemed to be good for larger groups. There were 3 main stars of the night!! The momos were amazing and both sauces that came with it were super flavorful The crackled spinach was by far the best thing of the night. The yogurt and sauces complimented each other so well! The sticky vegetables had a good amount of heat, but not overwhelming and the texture was great I would skip the tamarind potatoes and chili paneer next time. It wasn't bad, but just better things on the menu. Overall, super glad we were able to make it to Fat Punditt on such short notice.

Yelp
(This review is based on dining at their newer Covent Garden location) Fabulous food and atmosphere where you can actually talk and be heard by your friends at your table. Loved the crackling spinach (get 2 orders for 4 people) and the gunpowder potatoes were nice with a bit of spice. Veggie fritters nice and crunchy with a lovely glaze. Crispy 5 spice duck also recommended. Please open one of these in Los Angeles!!!

Yelp
Soho is no stranger to fusion cuisine and hyped-up restaurants that may or may not be worth the effort to snag a seat. Weeks after the experience, I'm still questioning if it's worth going back. Technically, yes, the food should be the most important star of the show; however, the rest of the annoyances along the way can turn into a real deal-breaker. Cocktails are 'meh.' I wouldn't pay that much for such a half-hearted attempt more than once. The plates, while chock-full of flavor and creativity spicing up traditional Indian favorites, are not only on the pricey side, but the tables they expect you to eat them on can barely hold more than a few. Regardless of where you sit, the spaces are cramped, and since you're probably not going to be coming alone, sharing your plates will be a must. Fan favorites include: Soy-marinated veggies, fried chicken, popcorn cauliflower, and deep-fried king prawns. The sides like the garlic naan and rice dishes are almost good enough to steal the show, so save some room for a few of those. Prices can get pretty steep since you're not likely to stick to only one or two plates, but if you're sharing, it can soften the blow considerably. One last thing to mention is that this place doesn't seem to be singles-friendly. I tried reserving a spot for weeks for one person with no luck, but as soon as I convinced my friend to come with me, there magically seemed to be room enough for 2 people. Perhaps giving a table away to lonely people doesn't rack in as much dough.

Yelp
Fatt Pundit is a Soho gem that I wish I could eat at every month. Indo-Chinese food is often hard to find outside of India, so this restaurant's take on Indo-Chinese classics was something we valued highly. Located near Carnaby Street, the restaurant seems small but is divided between an upstairs and downstairs space. We were seated in the downstairs space where decor was minimal but tasteful. Service was consistent and our waiter was easily accessible. We started with the saffron chai as it was colder than expected outside. The chai is served in a little clay cup and was very tasty! The saffron flavor came through distinctly and the tea was the right level of thickness and sweetness. For starters we ordered the hakka chilli paneer lettuce cups, the fried salt and pepper bhindi/okra, and the lollypop chicken. These dishes were the standouts of the meal; the chicken and okra were super crispy and crunchy without sacrificing any softness on the inside. The chicken was juicy and comparable with the best lollypops I've had in India. The okra was my favorite dish of all and was highly addictive; they must use rice flour or tapioca starch for the breading because it was so distinctively crispy and tasty. The paneer was also fresh and had an ideal consistency, contrasting well with the shallots and sweet sauce with every bite. We also got the chicken momos which were some of the best momos I've ever had; the filling was juicy and tasty while the coating was not overly chewy. For mains, we ordered the shredded venison with housemade bao, the veg hakka noodles, the chicken manchurian, and the egg fried rice. The venison was good but quite chewy, which is to be expected with this kind of meat. The hakka noodles and fried rice were excellent; both went well with the chicken manchurian. Note that the chicken manchurian is a wet dish, served with a gravy/sauce, so don't expect a dry/crispy chicken as you might elsewhere. All in all, the experience at Fatt Pundit was ideal and I look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
I had heard so much about this place before coming to London but was unable to find a table. We decided to walk in and found a table right away. The restaurant is tiny and tables were very close to each other. We ordered margaritas and the okra, noodles and paneer lettuce wraps. The margaritas were one of the best I ever had and the food was delicious. They are very busy so you got to get your order in at one time. I rated it 4 stars because we had to flag our server multiple times and he missed the okra in our order the first time and we had to wait 20 mins for it. I would still go back for their yummy cocktails and delicious food.

Yelp
I am in London for work and went out late to get a bite. I was instantly attracted by the clean, modern yet cosy feel of this restaurant. Met with a welcoming smile, although the kitchen was closing, they did not turn me away. I was assisted with grace and charm to pick from a menu I knew nothing about. I was recommended monk fish, crispy spinach, rice and told it would be memorable and they were right. The flavours were a symphony of sensory discoveries and all the staff was friendly and kind. I even received a complimentary dish of dumplings as I explained it was my first time eating Indo Chinese food. The crescendo finished with a milk, chai tea with saffron and fried dumplings in sugar syrup. Very happy with this discovery and highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Got delivery a few weeks back from their covent garden location. Lot of kinda unique twists on indo-chinese flavors. Bold ask that they execute really well and would strongly recommend and would definitely come back. I debated a lot over the menu because it was such an interesting menu with things like a szechuan honey duck, shredded chili venison, etc. I got the shredded chili venison and some egg fried rice. Both were incredible. The venison was cooked perfectly and despite the spicy flavor you also got a good amount of the gaminess of the venison itself. It didn't seem like a lot of food at first but was super filling and then with the fried rice to boot it made for an excellent meal. The fried rice didn't have a ton of egg but was full of other flavors that balanced well. The only thing I would say is that the momo was really quite bland so I would not recommend getting the momo again. It's not like we really needed the momo on top of the entrees but just stick with the entrees!

Bill D.

Yelp
Best food we've had during our week in London! Crunchy sesame vegetables, Szechuan noodles,, duck & lolipop chicken were all awesome.

Matt I.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service! Lots of vegetarian options for my youngest. We didn't realize that you need to order about 2 dishes per person, so we underestimated the total cost of the bill before entering...but that's on us and not worth taking away a star. This place was great.

Recently visited London and the hubby and I came here for a pre-show dinner. The space is on the smaller side, and seating felt a bit tight, but the food and service make up for that. We started off with the sticky sesame vegetables. Our server said it went well with rice, so we ordered a side of that as well. The vegetables came first...I swear I just wanted a small taste before the rice came, but half the dish was gone by the time the grain arrived... and not because the rice was slow to hit the table, but because it was just THAT damn good. My next dish was the monkfish curry. So delicious! The fish was cooked beautifully and the flavor was spot-on. I polished everything off with the Lady Kenny for dessert. I had never heard of this dish before, but it sounded interesting, and I had been impressed with its predecessors thus far, so I thought I'd give it a go. When I tried it, I realized that it's very similar to gulab jamun, but this was quite nicer than the gulab jamun I've had in the past. Our server, Lucito, was perfect. He was attentive without hovering, and when we told him we needed the check as we were trying to make it to a show, he made sure we got our bill in a timely manner. Fatt Pundit describes themselves as Indo Chinese cuisine that offers "something both new yet familiar" and I think this perfectly sums up my dining experience. I'll end this by saying that my husband and me took a 14-day adventure through London, the Cotswolds, and Paris, and Fatt Pundit was the best place we ate at.

Yelp
The reviews convinced us to try this small but mighty fusion restaurant and they were right. We did not have reservations and wandered in on an early Friday evening and the hostess immediately accommodated us with 2 seats at the bar. We were not disappointed. We tried the ribeye (wonderful), soft shell crab (not my fav), sesame vegetables (my favorite - highly recommend), chicken mojo dumplings (delicious) and the lollipop chicken (very different and worth trying.). Wish they more seating as the place is small, but something tells me that's just how they want it.

Yelp
I normally do not post reviews. However, this place is exceptional! Ruby is the best! Top food items: Momos, noodles, and brownie.

Yelp
This place was so delicious!! They are famous for their Lamp Chops, which I wasn't in mood for, but if you are London, you have to try!! My waiter was very pleasant and helped me with options. I will definitely be back to this place every time I'm in London

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant in SoHo offering Indochinese fusion, but honestly it felt more like a contemporary creative dishes place more than anything. Their menu is extremely vegan/vegetarian friendly - in fact it seems like those were the star plates! Our group wasn't vegetarian but we enjoyed our soy-marinated veggies and crackling spinach dishes the most. We also enjoyed their chicken momos, duck, and rabbit wontons. The recommended lollipop fried chicken, however, tasted like regular fried chicken and could be skipped, and their bing bread should only be ordered with a dish that has curry sauce (otherwise it's a bit dry and out of place with the other dishes). Would recommend this restaurant for a fun group tasting experience.

Yelp
Best Find in London With a name like Fatt Pundit, you wouldn't expect that you will have the best culinary experience. So good, I went back twice. Featured below are the chicken lollipops, the crispy potatoes, the lamb chops, chicken manuchrian chicken, stir fried rice. Definitely a must try!

Yelp
Wow. Unbelievably flavorful food and unique flavors. We rolled into town and stayed just feet away not realizing what a gem we had at our footsteps. While many nearby Indian restaurants are quite lovely, we went to Fatt Pundit on the recommendation of a colleague who said it was head and shoulders above the others. Were they right! The owner/manager was particularly friendly and kind in getting us in on a busy night and carefully tending to the needs of one person in our party who has a food allergy. He personally made sure that the gluten free dishes were properly prepared and served without cross contamination. The dishes are not huge so be sure to order 2-3 a person; 4 if you want to really try the wide range of dishes on the menu and are not shy about bringing home some takeaway. What a wonderful welcome to London Fatt Pundit was. Can't wait to try it again.

Yelp
Glad we found this gem just off the beaten path. We were lucky to get a couple of seats at the bar around 7pm on a Thursday evening. Amazing food, tried a duck, chicken and noodle dish. Fantastic cocktails, try the Scholar and the Priest or the Fatt Negroni . Great service from Mervin. Fun and comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
Such a great find! The food is fantastic and the service top notch! Bustling atmosphere and laidback vibe. Food is served family style and so we were able to order a load of different dishes. We had the venison, crab, goat, noodle and duck dishes. All stand out dishes. We had our three kids with us and we were worried about the spice level being too much for them. The kitchen was accommodating to the spice level needed and the kids enjoyed everything especially the noodles, goat and venison. Will definitely go back next time we are in London!

Yelp
Omg!!! The women's toilet was awful! There was no running water to wash your hands after using the toilet. The asian waitress downstairs said that the toilet's faucet is broken and not working so i need to use the Men's toilet to wash my hands. What an inconvenience! This asian waitress downstairs tried to trip me with her foot that she extended in front of me as i was walking away from the toilet. She felt my rage when i told her to report the toilet problem to her Manager, so she wanted to get back at me by trying to trip me! Karma will be there for you lady! Also the men's toilet floor was wet with spilled water from the sink. Toilets needs more lightening. I felt no one was checking or cleaning toilets on a regular basis. Dinner was ok. But With a non-working faucet in the toilet, i am not sure if the food is clean. Just be cautious! Our waiter provided great service though.

Yelp
This place was amazing, especially the service! The drinks from Rishi (might be misremembering his name) and explanation of the food from Tenzin were wonderful and very appreciated. Felt like I learned a lot from both of them. The food was also just as wonderful. The crackling spinach was perfect and do not pass up the fried okra. I don't know what they did to get the okra that perfect, but it works. Also loved how every meal starts with a little sample of dumplings. Gotta go!

Yelp
Stopped in and was able to get a single seat. So glad that I did because the food was amazing. The crispy spinach was to die for but make sure to leave room for dessert for their brownie.
