Delicious Food, But Room for Improvement – Flat Iron Spitalfields
Flat Iron Spitalfields definitely delivers on flavor. The food was genuinely tasty—simple yet expertly done. The star of the evening was, of course, the steak, which was cooked beautifully and full of rich, satisfying flavor. The green salad served on the side was surprisingly refreshing and well-balanced, while the spinach cream was decent, though not particularly memorable.
However, the portion sizes felt rather small for the price, and I left wishing there had been just a bit more on the plate. Service-wise, things were quite average. Staff were polite but seemed stretched thin, and the attentiveness wasn’t consistent throughout the meal.
The venue itself is on the smaller side, and the tables are packed quite tightly together, which takes away from the overall comfort and ambiance. Even though we had booked in advance, we still faced a long wait, which was disappointing and a bit frustrating.
Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re after flavorful food in a casual setting—but be prepared for some compromises in space, service, and portion size. A strong 4 stars for the quality of the food alone.
