Fond offers "fine casual" dining for the Downtown lunch crowd from 11-2pm. Fond switches to an Aperitivo Hour from 4-8pm where shared plates and Detroit Style pizza are featured. Fond offers a full bar with a strong Natural Wine program. Chef's Jennie Kelley & Brandon Moore are FOND of food, of Dallas and of you.
"Downtown dwellers—and presumably Michiganders—know that Detroit-style pizzas are the perfect antidote for a grueling workday. Fond, at the base of Santander Tower, serves a good slate of them during lunch and during its 4-8pm aperitivo hour, which is actually just dinner. (Note: Fond is closed on weekends). The Pepp In Your Step pairs salty pepperoni with pickled peppers, and the Brussel Crowe is made with crispy brussels, caramelized onions, bacon, and roasted garlic cream. Both have a thick chew offset by crispy edges and a crunchy crust. Fond also makes an excellent Caesar salad and a perfectly fried schnitzel, and we’re betting you only saw one of those coming." - kevin gray
"At the bottom of a Downtown office tower, Fond is both a gathering place for better-than-necessary post-work drinks and a well-rounded bistro for an office lunch or laid-back dinner. The midday special includes a quarter-pie of the restaurant’s fantastic Detroit-style pizza (the Brussel Crowe with brussels sprouts and bacon is a favorite), or a smoked salmon niçoise salad, or a French-ish ham and salami sandwich. You can get a glass of lunch wine for just $7, and the evening “aperitivo” menu—which here actually means dinner—involves hearty share plates like charred octopus and chorizo (get a side of potatoes) or crisp pork schnitzel with tangy slaw. A must-drink: the botanically perfect Fond Spanish Vermut cocktail with housemade vinho verde vermouth." - Rosin Saez
"Owned by chef Jennie Kelley and her partner Brandon Moore, Fond is a place where the couple celebrates their love for food. They host themed dinners, such as a Beatles’ Love album themed prix-fixe dinner for Valentine’s Day." - Didi Paterno
"Fond is giving away a free soft serve to anyone wearing an 'I Voted' sticker during early voting." - Courtney E. Smith
"It’s tough to beat the Tower Club at this Downtown spot. This take on it features roast turkey, pork belly, cheddar, Swiss, tomatoes, and herb aioli on a ciabatta bun. It’s a must-order for the first visit — but when you return, you’ll find there’s not a bad sandwich on the menu." - Eater Staff
