Glad we tried this Malaysian spot. My partner and I ordered the zha cai eggplant, crispy pig ear, grandma's BBQ pork tossed noodle, hainanese chicken rice, nasi lemak beef rendang rice plate, and Hong Kong milk tea -
TASTE: 4/5 - solid flavors. The spicy sweet and sour sauce was a great complement to the pig ears, the BBQ pork was sweet and fatty, the spicy sweet and sour sauce was tasty w the hainanese chicken, and the sweet cabbage in the nasi lemak was dangerously good. Thought the HK milk tea would be sweeter, but it was still satisfying
TEXTURE: 4/5 - the eggplant was a little mushy, and we thought the house-made zha cai (pickled mustard) should've been more of a sauce than just a paste topping. This was our first time trying pig ears, and it was slightly cartilage-y and fried really well. Enjoyed the signature thin noodles but also thought the dish could've used more sauce and that the bok choy could've been cooked/steamed more; the fried (pork and shrimp?) wonton was so crispy and good though! Appreciated all of the various textures in the nasi lemak too
PRICE: 4/5 - there's a nice range, of small plates to entrees, to choose from. Our total came out to ~$70
SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - filled us up quickly, and we took home about half of it for leftovers
SERVICE: 4/5 - we arrived at 6pm on a Wednesday when the space was still relatively empty. Our food came out very quickly, and the robot that carries dishes from the kitchen to your table is cute and vocal
ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - large, modern space! Never seen a menu displayed like theirs before, almost like a magazine
TAKEOUT: 4/5 - appreciated that their takeout containers include a hole for ventilation
PARKING: 5/5 - there's a free, retail-dedicated parking garage on the level below
