"Forchetta is popular with those in the know, but it's easy for first-timers to miss the sign. A vet by training, the head chef has a real passion for food and gardening, as demonstrated by his East-meets-West creations and miniature garden. The single set menu includes a choice of two mains. With prior notice, the chef can prepare different mains for returning customers. His tasty house-made tagliolini works beautifully with the Taiwanese sauce." - Michelin Inspector

IG: @jojo_gourmand Mediterranean cuisine revels in freshness, seasonality, and balanced flavors, and is rooted in a deep respect for the climate and geography from which ingredients are harvested. At restaurant Forchetta, Chef Max introduces the first Mediterranean-Taiwanese cuisine, boasting the island’s rich organic produce and abundant seafood. I would describe the menu that I tried as creativity with the comfort of familiarity brought by local ingredients. Chef Max cultivates his own garden of edible flowers and herbs, so each dish is infused with distinct aromas that surprise the senses. Served omakase-style, the tasting menu adapts with the seasons, ensuring each visit offers something new—making it a magnet destination for regulars. 🗺️ European Contemporary ⭐️ Michelin One-Starred 🏷️ NT$3000+

Forchetta Restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Taichung, where culinary mastery meets a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The charming decor and attentive staff create the perfect backdrop for a delightful dining experience. The menu is a symphony of flavours, local produce, creative cooking and great taste. Definitely room for improvement considering the great selection of restaurants in Taiwan.

2nd visit here and satisfaction achieved once again. Chef lets the local ingredients shine instead of masking with heavy seasoning and that’s the joy of having Mediterranean style food. Friendly service. Will certainly return!

It’s an amazing dinner, my friends and I enjoyed a lot. The chef use a lot local ingredients and each meal has its own flavor. We ordered steak for main course, the beef is tender but not too raw. A little pricey but worth the money.

Forchetta is one of few restaurants with 1 Michelin Star in Taichung and they are famous for their Omakase style menu by using seasonal ingredients. Reservation is needed and I highly recommend to make it in advance. Street parking is available and it is located on the 2nd floor. The interior is elegant and cozy with an industrial ceiling and vintage decoration. There were only 5 options for entrees on the menu, but the staff asked everyone’s allergy & restriction in details. The course started with 4 appetizers (5 for dinner) which varied every day, continued with an entree, and finished with 2 desserts & tea. Our favorite appetizer was the mushroom with mashed potato, which was a great balance between juicy & creamy. Our entrees were Rib Eye Steak & Iberian Pork and we preferred the pork, which was soft & satisfying. Both desserts were decent and we loved the Truffle Burrata Pudding. The chef would serve a sugar-built tower which is photo-worthy if customers celebrate their special occasions there. It was a great & pleasant dining experience at a reasonable & affordable price that we would highly recommend people to give it try.

Amazing presentation. Great service. Price is legit for the amount of food. Fine dining style. Great appetizers. Entree is soso. I would go just for their appetizers if possible. Nice vibe. Great selection of beer and wine. Location is convenient with lots of street parking around. Do have to climb up to 2nd floor. No elevator. Spacious. Well designed and decorated. Lots of thought went into. Recommended!

Visited during the Chinese Valentines Day, the chef was lazy enough to go with the regular menu. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and queit. After a full course dinner, nothing standed out or left significant impression. All ingredients didn't match and the flow can't connect. The plates are only good for visual presentation. Our table waitress was bold enough to interrupt our video shot, didn't even bother apologize. Frankly, there are many other better choices for a lower price tag too. Will not revisit.

We went for lunch on mother’s day. While the environment was relaxing, the taste was just mediocre. Many pairings just didn’t quite work. The presentation was elegant but those decorations not only didn’t add to the taste, but also distracted the overall texture. I was somewhat disappointed as I didn’t think the restaurant was even trying...
