Fort Greene Bar - Review - Globeville - Denver - The Infatuation

"There’s always a good reason to stop by Fort Greene, which is probably why it’s become the neighborhood bar to so many who live outside its Globeville neighborhood. Those “good reasons” include high energy DJ sets, patio cookouts, tarot readings, literary meetups, nude still life drawing classes, and puppy costume parties. And if you’re into all those things, congratulations! You’re a very well-rounded individual. The décor is part shabby-chic vintage plant shop and part grandpa’s seedy basement, depending on where you pull up an upholstered chair. Even more inviting is the drink menu, where there are nearly as many N/A options as cocktails, plus a handful of natural wines, beers, and a lone sake juice box." - Allyson Reedy

26 Essential Denver Bars

"This hip little bar has single-handedly made Globeville a destination. Hosting DJ sets and pop-up markets, movie screenings and tarot readings, and even drawing classes, it feels like a second home to its regulars, complete with quaint-meets-quirky parlor-room decor; a cozy patio; and, of course, kicky cocktails like the Full Cry with sotol, Port, oolong syrup, and lemon." - Ruth Tobias, Josie Sexton, Eater Staff

Paying Tribute to 52 NYC Restaurants That Closed During the Pandemic  - Eater NY

"Southwestern cuisine is underrepresented in NYC's diverse dining scene, and the city lost one of the rare restaurants showcasing the food with the closure of the Banty Rooster last year. The restaurant had been open for less than six months before the pandemic forced it to close its doors. Still, in the short time that it was open, acclaimed Denver restaurateur Delores Tronco-DePierro and her husband, John DePierro — who led the kitchen at Banty Rooster and previously worked at restaurants like the Michelin-starred French restaurant Rebelle and Fort Greene Mediterranean spot Miss Ada — wowed New Yorkers with dishes like roasted delicata squash with roasted pepitas, brown butter, and squash mole; sopapillas topped with honey and powdered sugar; and the New Mexican lard cookies called biscochitos." - Eater Staff

A space alive with history, character, & a surprise in every corner. I attended a gallery event here with the UnderWvrld & it could not have been more spot-on. I enjoyed a delightful “Daisy” cocktail with absinthe, & we met & spoke with the owner, Eleonora, who is renowned in the city for curating this mysterious, magical, & welcoming place. An experience like no other!

Google
Love love this place! Drinks were great, atmosphere is amazing! Such a hidden gem, super happy that we stumbled upon it! The only non happy thing about this place was the bartender. She was not friendly at all, to the point of just rude. I was the only one there and it took forever for her just to look up at me, didn't say anything. Not helpful or suggestive. Seemed irritated that I was there. I was surprised I got a cocktail at all! BUT, that Didn't ruin the amazing atmosphere, fun friends time and delicious cocktails! Definitely would go back and I would suggest it to everyone!!

Very good atmosphere and cocktails. I would highly recommended coming here

Google
Love this place! Such a cute and unique bar! And you can grab a bite to eat for a good price! Follow them on instagram to see if they have any concerts coming up!

Really cozy place to drink at. Very loungey. Love their patio and cloud room in the back where sometimes they play live music! 🎶

Google
I love the atmosphere of this place! From the outside it looks like a non-descript dive bar, but inside is filled with cute antiques and a gorgeous bar. Half hipster, half grandma's house, and the drinks were very good. Bartender was also really friendly!

Google
This place is so cool! Such a unique spot with great hospitality and decor. Jason gave us all kinds of info about the neighborhood and I loved that they had lots of non alcoholic drink options. Definitely will be back soon!

Google
Outstanding drinks in a swank environment. A small place with a cozy vibe, lots of eclectic and vintage furniture to relax upon. The liquor and beer selection are as eclectic as the decor, as is the crowd it draws.

Yelp
Great bar with comfortable decor, delicious cocktails, and a solid selection of spirits.

Yelp
Fort Greene is a great, inclusive cocktail bar in Globeville. Its friendly bartenders serve up strong cocktails in an eclectic setting. Paper poppies hang from the ceiling in the main room to match the beautiful red lamps over the bar. If you want to venture in further, there are other rooms with couches and skeletons of old tv sets, wicker chairs in a room with lights that look like floating clouds, or their patio. Super cool, chill place to grab a drink and hang out.

Yelp
The drinks were a bit expensive, and poured right out of a pre-mixed container, but they were incredible. The space seems simple at first, but building has small pockets for people to sit in throughout, and a back patio area with live DJ that was spinning it up with drum and bass even at 8pm. Really enjoyed the vibe, and will certainly go again if I'm looking for drinks back in the area.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Denver. I feel perpetually uncool here, which I think is a sign of a good bar, imho. Super rad ambiance, good drinks, extremely cool bartenders, and usually a nice chill vibe.

Yelp
Great vibes. Sick dj. Ambient lighting, diverse crowd, loved it!! Planning on heading back soon

Yelp
This place is a hit or miss. There is sometimes a level of unapproachability to the bartenders that perplexes me. Kind of stand-offish. I mean this is a bar in the hood, but I rarely see any people from the actual neighborhood in there. But hipster vibes abound. I hate hipster vibes. The crowd is the same too, slightly standoffish, then a few cool, welcoming people mixed in. Again- quasi hipster feels...have met some really down to earth chill people, but the past couple of times, man many folks are just kind of snobby, acting like they are too cool. They have some really great dj's though!

Yelp
Very hip spot, COVID friendly, and live music! I came here to meet with some friends to celebrate a birthday! I've never been here before and was pleasantly surprised! Fort Greene accommodated a group of around 20 people to spend time in their outdoor patio. Other patrons had plenty of seating and there was not a long line at the bar. This spot is known for their cocktails! They have a great selection and the prices are reasonable for the quality! We did not stay long enough to see the music act, but they were setting up inside in a very well decorated room! We would definitely return

Yelp
10/10 vibes, I love it here. My girlfriends and I love this place, one of my favorite spots ever. Dancing is intimate and vibey. DJs are always playing funk bangers. The ambiance and decor is eclectic and beautiful. Drinks are fab. Love everything about it.

Yelp
My biggest regret is that I don't live in Denver because I am truly jealous I do not have a place like this in my city! Fort Greene is a rare gem that exceeds all your expectations in terms of ambiance, cocktails and staff. The cocktails are creative, unique and unbelievably delicious, there is truly something there for everyone. The community and events genuinely make Fort Greene a place that one must visit over and over again. I can't say enough about this place except for that if you are in Denver you MUST visit!

Yelp
This place is completely unassuming and so wonderful. The bar area is small but there are a lot of different seats all over. I got to try a few cocktails - I loved the Greenpointe and the Ode de Guthrie. Both were so unique! The Greenpointe is my favorite - the green chartreuse with the rye was an unexpected and delicious concoction.

Yelp
A hidden gem. It's been around for years but I would have never known this place existed if it wasn't listed as one of the best dive bars in Denver on Thrillist. Thank heavens for the internet! The building exterior is very deceiving especially because it's in a more "industrial" area. But you walk in and it's SUPER cute, cozy, and eclectic - every room is designed a bit different with sort of vintage theme. Highly recommended and their drinks are fabulous. Go if you want quality drinks + cool photo opps. It's an influencer's dream - you can probably find a million photos of the bar's interior on the gram.

Yelp
I finally made it to Fort Greene after a year of wanting to go! I had received a gift card for my birthday last year but of course dumb Covid has kept me away until now. Descreet building across from Globe Hall- could be easy to miss if you didn't know what you were looking for but that adds to the charm! The interior makes you feel like you're at an eclectic great aunt's house, and not in a bad way. A super cozy space with craft cocktails and a cool ambiance. I wasn't overwhelmed but the cocktails, but they were good. Their merch is super cool too- love that they leveraged their architecture in the design. Can't wait to come back in warmer weather!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and they host some really cool events. Good vibes here. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Despite everyone else's love for this little place, I wasn't all that impressed. Sure, the drinks are hand crafted/fancy/delicious, and the staff is really friendly(and know their booze), but the space and location are just odd. Totally unmarked, it's easy to pass this place and drive along a completely unlit road, under the highway viaduct. In fact, we missed it at first, turned around and missed it again! We weren't even sure it was the right location when we parked, as there was NO signage and dimly lit! Although I'm a fan of the historic features of this house-turned-bar (super historic and cool), I didn't really fancy the area (although I know it's gaining more attention and great restaurants!), and don't see myself going out of my way to come here. Sorry Fort Greene.

Yelp
I found out about this place about a week ago and just happened to be in the area this past weekend so I popped in. Granted it wasn't in the busy time of day but the second you walk you the vibe captures you. It feels like you've gone back in time and that you actually are at a speakeasy. Very quickly, we discovered two more rooms in the back and a patio. We had the attention of the owner, Aaron, so we got some history on the place. We had a good conversation with Eleanor, who bartended at the previous bar at this location. And later Aaron's brother, Bretton, introduced himself. He is the chef and apparently the food is amazing but we didn't have any. We did, however, have two drinks and both were pretty spot on. There is no question I want to come back one night and get the real vibe when it's full and also have a chance to try some of the amazing food. When that happens, I will have a chance to upgrade this rating.

Yelp
Amazing amaro bar, great and fun service. Top notch. The knowledge of their bar is unmatched and their custom cocktail menu is very inviting.

Yelp
From the moment the creaky front door opened and the smells of a hundred years kicked me in the face I loved this bar. I bellied up to the bar and looked at my reflection is the hazy mirror on the back bar. All I could think was wow, this place is amazing. My friend had told me great things about their cocktails and I was excited to give them a try. The best metric for me is an old fashioned. So that's what I ordered. Haley mixed me a perfect house old fashioned that I enjoyed so much I just had to have another before we skated out to dinner. I'm looking forward to returning to try some of their other house cocktails and an order of their cheese curds which I hear are amazing.

Yelp
A Denver gem for sure. Absolutely love the vibes in this place and want to move in ASAP. This gorgeous place is hidden in the little neighborhood of Globeville. This hood has been isolated from Denver since its creation but is slowly picking up a life of its own thanks to the cultural renaissance that is happening in Denver now. There are three different rooms to this place and a backyard patio that will be amazing in the summer. Order the first whiskey drink on their menu and you will not be disappointed. Not a place to go before a night on the town as it is out of the way- but I don't believe that is the purpose for this beautiful hangout at all anyways. Globehall concert venue is right across the street so stop by here first before making your way over to the tunes. I hope to venture in here again soon as it cures all my VIBE addictions.

Yelp
Great place for a night cap - total hidden gem, cozy quiet corner for a late night date or a convo with a bestie. Love the historic features. The bar is gorgeous, its dark and ornate like they used to make em' the walls are an iridescent dark green and there are lovely bench sofas tucked away in the corners. Love this place. reminds me of some dark tucked away café and not a dive bar. Great bar, excellent service, great cocktail options. I love that Long i Pie is located in the same location but unfortunately at my last stay , they were out on holiday vacay. I love pie and drinks = Perfect combo. Outdoor patio is nice. There is apparently a back room for parties. This would be a nice place for a party and I've seen wedding pics at this locale, this might be a great place for a small wedding :) It's a nice authentic place with minimum distractions and no giant tv screens. It's all about the ambiance and company here.

Yelp
Recently we had the opportunity to swing into Fort Greene and meet our new Community Manager! ++ The drinks! Great expertly crafted concoctions! I sipped on the Night Queen which was a tasty mix of Bulleit rye bourbon, peach bitters, ginger, and lemon. Sooo delish! ++ While I personally didn't partake in any of the food offerings on my visit, several others did and it looked (and smelled) amazing. Truffle fries anyone? ++ The space is super unique! With lots of little nooks and crannies to get lost in. There are several velvet couches, fabulous wallpaper, plus an ornate art-deco style back bar. Love it! ++ The location isn't the easiest to find since it's unmarked and you're not even sure you're opening the front door when you arrive. But all this contributes to it being a hidden gem in the Globeville/RiNo neighborhood! I def want to come back and check it out with a smaller group. To get the more one-on-one intimate experience!

Yelp
FAVORITE. BAR. EVER. Awesome cocktails in a beautiful historic bar? Super rad bartenders and owners? A disco ball?! It doesn't get much better than this, folks. Fort Greene is one of my top local hangs, and I'm surprised that it's still one of Denver's best kept secrets. I'm completely in love with the aesthetic in this bar--gorgeous wallpaper, velvet couches, and plants aplenty. Grab a cheap dad beer or ask Lawrence to mix you something nice--his cocktails are boozy magic. Check out their Instagram to keep up with DJ nights, movie screenings, and other fun hangs.

Yelp
Oh man, this is better than any speakeasy. No passwords, no secret handshake, no bartenders in suspenders or "Newsies" outfits. Just a cool, 1930's bar with classic cocktails and no pretension. A friend of mine tipped me off about Fort Greene and I'm so glad she looped me in on what a cool new spot this was in Denver. Yeah, the neighborhood isn't so great, but compared to other rougher cities (St. Louis, San Francisco), this ain't bad at all. I even waited outside for my Uber to arrive in the dark and it was fine. What's inside? A swanky, green/black/white art deco hangout when you first walk inside. Beautiful mahogany bar and with plenty of booze. Grab a seat on a velvet couch and start your night with a stiff drink. If you feel inclined to stick around later, there's a back room with a disco ball and either a DJ or live music. There's a limited food menu but I didn't go there this visit. Just a New York sour and some fun company. Fort Greene is good for drinks, ambiance and making friends. It's like a fancy Cheers!

Yelp
This place is a who vibe that I didn't even know excited until they where gracious to donate there space to us for a private event. The Space feels warm like a home the vibe it out of this world and the staff is beautiful. This gem may be tucked away buts its well worth a visit.

Yelp
What a neat spot! I've only been in the summer time/warmer weather and the windows are open like a southern restaurant with the plantation type shutters. They have plants everywhere and the decor is all green. The name is not on the outside, so it feels like a hidden gem in Globeville. The bartenders are always friendly and nice and make a mean cocktail. I love going here and don't go enough.
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
Not a fan of places that burn incense, but despite that, this place has a unique charm to it. They happened to be on the Denver Passport circuit for 2016, and my gal and I stopped in to take advantage of 2 for 1 fancy cocktails. The drinks were well made, and the room, while very sparse, is quite cozy. There are a couple of fun rooms in the back for seating as well as a very nice outdoor seating area. The food we tried was so-so... We got nachos and cheese curds. The curds were pretty good, but the nachos lacked on flavor a bit (though a huge portion). All in all, this place is A-OK.

Yelp
What. In. The. Hell. Is. This. Place. It's quiet, tucked away, completely hidden, no signage. It's half dive bar half antique/thrift store. If anyone saw the DCPA production of Sweet & Lucky then you'll feel like you've stepped back into that show. It's kitschy and homey, it's friendly and welcome, it's also thrift-store-otherworldy (which is my new band name, check us out at an open mic night nowhere near you). In the end it's fun and weird. I want their main room to have a little more in-the-middle-of-the-room-seating and other things with lots of hyphens. Glasses are mismatched, cocktails are funnily named, the server was awesome, cocktails were tasty, there was an art show being set up for the next night. The only thing I really know for sure is that I'm not cool enough to go here. I'm not skinny enough, I don't have nearly enough piercings or tattoos (which is to say: any) and I definitely haven't read enough David Foster Wallace or spent enough time evaluating the qualitative differences between Parliaments and American Spirits. But alas, I'm gonna go back. It was too weird not to visit again. It's like that one person we all have in our past that we found unbelievably attractive but we don't know why. That's how I felt about this place. Oh they also have cheese curds and I really want to go back and try them.

Robert H.

Yelp
Such a great and unique atmosphere. Weirdly, it's impossible to find a garbage can though. Even the bathroom didn't have any. They serve food sometimes and it's pretty great (until you need to throw something away).

Yelp
I like a place that's different. And Fort Greene is one of those places...it's got all the good vibes. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I'd heard of this place a few times and just never made it happen. Then, while flipping through our Denver drinking passport one snowy evening, we decided to make the trek to Fort Greene. For us, it's a bit of trek, but oh-so-worth-it. It was one of those evenings with crazy snow which meant the place was EMPTY. As in completely, totally all to ourselves. As we walked in, I noticed the beautiful, intricate wooden bar, and I was hooked. It's one of a kind. Then, add to that the unique pieces, including their tap, and hanging plants galore. *swoon* All the vibes. Couches and other cozy ways to lounge that you can get lost in...wallpaper that is a bit reminiscent of your grandma's house but it just WORKS here...flora and fauna everywhere...perfection. When it comes to drinks, go with a classic. Hard to miss when the bartenders are as knowledgeable as they are here. We also ordered the tots, because yes. They did not disappoint. (Sidenote--on select nights, you can get some Longipie options. Also delish!) Why do we keep going back? The vibes; the service, the bar, the drinks. That first night resulted in fabulous conversation and we were well cared for. When we mentioned the next spot we were headed, the bartender mixed up a boomerang for us to pass along at the next bar. Now that's fun!

Yelp
Interesting bar in an interesting hood. Ft Greene was in the Winter Warmer passport so we gave it a go. We stopped by on a weeknight & it was reasonably busy, not by no means packed. The bartender greeted us right away and took our order as soon as we were ready. Hubs grabbed a beer & I grabbed a cocktail. The beer itself was a tasty local out of Boulder. The cocktail was the warmer special which seemed a little off balance. One mixer/alcohol was far more prominent that another. The overall ambiance and look for the bar are cool and cozy. The place was a little chilly, as another commenter mentioned, almost as though they forgot it was January! We sat in the back room which was a little chillier, but had a nice seating area. The patio looks amazing- can't wait for the warmer months to roll around! I gave this bar 4 stars because it's gives me a lot of hope for the neighborhood! The people (from the tenders to the patrons) aren't pretentious like other bars/neighborhoods & the service was pretty decent when we went.
google avatar

Maria P.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I really did. The drinks and service were great. They have a DJ spinning music-you have probably never heard but a cool vibe to add. It is in the up and coming Globeville. Cheap beers and a cool space. But it is literally a hipster haven. Not one non-hipster that being over 30 and not having on round glasses, a beanie, or an Instagram inspired outfit made me feel a little out of place. I have never seen so many hipsters in one spot in Denver. Literally felt like I was in another place. I felt like I was in the depths of Brooklyn. Absolutely a certain type of place-and may not be everyone's vibe. Check it out and stay if it's your thing. If it's not-there are maybe one or two other options in this neighborhood.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
I'm a total sucker for a bar that is "not normal". Most bars these days lack character. The minute I stepped into Fort Greene, I was smiling from ear to ear. Fort Greene reminded me of some of the best bars in Detroit. Great service at the bar! Real service. Nothing fake. Honest to goodness real people who make great drinks and have the ability to have a conversation. If you are in the neighborhood, make it a point to stop in for a delicious drink and conversation.
google avatar

Heidi S.

Yelp
This place has amazing potential! The building itself has great character; they kept the 100 year old bar & many original lighting fixtures, perfect for an unassuming, relaxed speakeasy. They have a good sized patio and rumor has it they have something very fun planned for the back room! They have only been open 3 weeks, so the drink menu and spirits are simple, but creative! Our bartender made a kick-a Old Fashioned & the Sheboygan Old Fashioned (on the menu) was equally delicious! We didn't get to try any food, but the head chef did come and chat with us. The plan is to keep the menu simple;1/2 chicken, oysters, etc AND...cheese curds!! The food I did see come out of the kitchen looked beautiful & smelled tasty. Both the owner & chef were incredibly friendly. They sealed the experience. Fort Greene offers a really unique atomsphere and it's definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Cherie C.

Yelp
I'm glad this is near home. They're under new ownership, so my food review is now irrelevant. But I can say that the new owner's fried cheese is even better than the previous version. Cocktails are good, and that's really the reason togo. The space is small and reminds me of old East Coast bars in old buildings. There's a patio for good weather. But if you visit in winter, bundle up. The heat hasn't been on when I've gone, and it wasn't crowded enough to generate a lot of body heat. Service is relaxed and friendly. I look forward to seeing what the new owner does with the menu.

Yelp
Yea, I know. We've all been to so many hipstery retro'y fancy cocktail bars in the past 7'ish years. So many. All over the States and actually, abroad, too. Vintage furniture. Warm tones. Plants. Dim suspended lights. Quite frankly it's becoming a bit of a formula. But I'll be damned if Fort Greene doesn't take the hackneyed and bring it back to what it should be: not just aesthetics but all the feels. Highly recommend their Tuesday soul nights because those two DJ's not only school you (like I had no idea that Kweku Collins sampled someone else for his 'stupid rose' track - silly girl - now I know) but mellow you the hell out (I'm a little wound tight sometimes). It's intimate. It's romantic beyond belief. It's laid back. And beautifully devoid of pretension or rowdy sports fans. I think I'm also going to dedicate a paragraph to their space, because it is so well laid out. Front room has an attractive bar with smaller tables and comfy old couches (love seats?). Middle room is like the living room you wish you had. Back room was a little chilly so I barely caught a peek. But I'm a huge fan of having multiple niches to titrate your level of interaction with the world. Oh, and candles on the tables. Can't speak to the food, but I did witness a plate of nachos come out - the smell had me drooling and the huge portion had me wide-eyed. Maybe next time I'll snag something from the kitchen. Globeville is a little out of the way for me but the peace and quiet, stiff drinks, and good people are well worth the trek.

Nicole W.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a moody, dark, quiet chat or romantic date - this is a great space. While driving across the country, I was meeting up with a friend in Denver for dinner. After securing the cheapest, decent hotel room I could find, I took to Yelp to look for somewhere nearby for us to dine. Fort Greene came up as a "hidden gem," and they weren't kidding! Though it was a mere mile from my hotel, I drove by it 3x before realizing that the brick facade held an adorable bistro. I had 2 great classic cocktails, and we truly enjoyed the Fried Rice and Burger with truffle fries. It's a very minimal menu, but it's also full of things that would be hard to do wrong - a smart choice by them. This is an excellent space for an intimate gathering, or to saddle up to the bar if you're staying at a cheap hotel in Globeville.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Fort Greene has become a favorite stop for a well crafted cocktail without the pretension of some other downtown bars. I recommend a Manhattan, and if you're adventurous have Haley or Lawrence mix up a variation that'll sure to impress! Also, get an order of fried cheese curds and have another drink!
google avatar

Raquia D.

Yelp
I've been to this cool little bar a couple times. Its set in a neighborhood, so if you don't know someone that frequents it, you may miss out. No food served, but slamming drinks. When you first walk in the space is deceptively small, but just past the bar, there are stairs that lead to two additional rooms for sitting. It reminds me of being at a basement party. There's also a patio for the smokers. Get a whiskey drink, you won't go wrong!
google avatar

Vee G.

Yelp
Yep. Quintessential hipster dive bar. Weird smell as soon as soon as you walk in. Everybody moves at a snail's pace and the ambience is weird. 10/10 would avoid.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Not meh, but not OK either. Yelpers let me down. I went in with high expectations and really wanted to love it. I might return, but only on a warm Summer day. + Comfortable, old fashioned seating. + Hefty flatware. Decent china. + Delicious asparagus wrapped with bacon. + Excellent Mahattan with a Luxardo cherry. + Cheese Curds were tasty. 0 Indifferent service. And, we were the only customers in the room not sitting at the bar. 0 Menu is too limited. Only 6 items. - Very cold (think 55℉) in the main area when we arrived. It did not get warmer. Two other couples came in and left quickly while we were sitting there. I wore my fleece during the entire time. - No Wi-Fi. - The "napkins" were those brown paper towels you use to dry your hands in the bathroom. And, I did see the same ones in the WC. - Over priced food. $9 for asparagus. - Dim lighting. Yes, I am an old fart, but this is very close to dark. My cats would have liked it though.

Yelp
Great staff. Great drinks. Fair prices. Varied events and DJs cut it up most weekends. They treat the neighbors great.

Yelp
Went here to see a friend's band perform and it was pretty cool. I really liked the ambiance of the bar and restaurant upstairs and the cocktails were pretty good. We wanted to order some oysters, but they told us the kitchen was closed and we couldn't even though it was still supposedly open for 5 more minutes. I would have likely given another star if we had been able to eat as we were super disappointed that they wouldn't serve us. If the kitchen closes at 10, then you should be able to order food until 10, not 9:55 (I can't remember what time the kitchen closed and their website doesn't give a time, which I find odd. It just says open 5pm-closed.) We didn't even want anything that would have needed to be cooked. They have a really cute patio and the place the band played was downstairs and pretty cool as well. It was quite cold down there, but warmed up with everyone in there. Not sure I'll go back as it is a ways out there, but I'm not ruling it out.

Yelp
Inviting atmosphere, but very dark. My hubby and I arrive around 6pm on a Friday evening. The temperature outside was around 50 degrees and it didn't feel much warmer inside. Honestly, if it was 60 degrees inside I would be surprised. When asked if it would warm up inside we were told that "it's a really old building and it takes a while..." So okay we will need to find a warm corner and leave our coats on because based on the fabulous Yelp reviews, we really want to stay. There are only two other patrons in the place, sitting at the bar. Meanwhile, two other couples come in, sit down, then get up and leave. The food and drink menu is very small - too small in my opinion. $7 for a small pour of an okay wine. Hubby enjoys a drink and a cheap beer. We try the fried cheese curds and the prosciutto wrapped asparagus - both very good but very overpriced at $10 and $9 - $6 would be acceptable. We leave because it's too dark inside, it's too cold inside and the food and drinks are overpriced. I really wanted to love Fort Greene but was so disappointed.

Yelp
The ambience is nice, but that's about it. I save my 1-star reviews for Long John Silvers, so this defaults to a 2. It's 25 degrees out and I think they had the AC on. Everyone had winter coats on while eating. There were 3 tables with people in the entire place, yet our waitress didn't come check on us after initial order for 30 minutes. The steak was underwhelming, super fatty, and not cooked to order (it also instantly became cold). The menu is about 5 items and it was too cold for a salad, so my wife had to order nachos for dinner. Oh, and no cash - "paper free". If you walk in and it feels empty, take it as a sign. Walk out.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner and drinks while up in Rino. Great atmosphere, loved the drinks, and the food was really good. Loved the deep fried cheese curd. You definitely have to try these! The atmosphere was comfortable and eclectic ... there are several rooms to choose from for dining, including an outdoor patio. Definitely plan to stop by here again. Heard the owner sometimes entertains his customers on the piano with some pretty amazing skills.

Yelp
Literally my favorite bar in Denver... They just had a "anything for Selena's" event and it made me love this place that much more. Beautiful decor and such a cool vibe.

Yelp
Easily my favorite bar in the city. Always love seeing Elenor and Guthy (her dog). All the bartenders mix excellent cocktails and the atmosphere is beautiful. Outdoor seating is very nice as well and they have great local DJs on the weekend. Amazing bar off the beaten path!

Yelp
I'll always suggest a night cap here. They make a great negroni and on certain nights longi pie is dishing out an excellent slice. The decor is faded tropicale and serves as vessel for quiet conversation. Outdoor patio when it's warm and back room for a game of chess.

Yelp
I love this place. Good cocktails or cheap beer... also good food. It's definitely a cool crowd that can be really fun when there's a party or a dj. I always try to find an excuse to go here for a drink.

Yelp
What a cool bar in Globeville. I have been to Globe Hall a couple times, and had meant to come to Fort Greene. They had been showing a John Waters movie earlier in the year which I missed. The show movies occasionally. The food looked and smelled awesome. As a bartender of over 10 years the drinks are very good, and the staff infallible. Thanks for having us Yelpers.

Yelp
This is such a cool venue. The bartender, Lawrence, was really great. He immediately took us off menu and worked up excellent drinks that both my wife and I enjoyed. We will definitely return!
