The 20 Best Bakeries In Paris 2024

"You can find exceptional desserts from the city’s most famous bakers at this concept shop, many of whom hold the prestigious title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF): a countrywide distinction awarded every four years to notable craftsmen, and often displayed on shop windows. What’s available at each of the three Fou locations change often—as do the specific chefs making them—so while we can’t recommend anything specific, we’re confident you’ll come back at least once before the end of your trip. The Best Bakeries in Paris, According to a Local | Condé Nast Traveler

"A sliver of a boutique with two purple tables and chairs outside, this is a specialty pastry shop that's not meant for lingering. It is, however, big on luscious pastries. One long counter houses pastries from some of the city's leading pastry chefs—well-known names like Pierre Hermé and Cyril Lignac as well as less internationally known names like Carl Marletti and Jonathan Blot. There are éclairs, Saint-Honorés, and a smattering of original concoctions delivered fresh daily." - Lindsey Tramuta

Some pastries with thought. Heavenly taste. Attentive personnel. Small place, authentic experience. 2 table outside to eat. Mostly take away. The coffee is from machine. That could be improved

Google
Amazing patisserie with a fantastic selection of desserts! The service is outstanding, and the staff are always kind and welcoming. Everything here is made with such quality and care—you can’t go wrong with any choice. Whether you’re a dessert lover or just looking for a treat, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Google
Just amazing, everything here will be delicious. Staff was super friendly and helpful, we got some tasters and they were all very well made. Super tastefully and amazing structure. Recommend to go here and I want to buy the whole shop

Google
Wow, incredible patisserie and so delicious. The boy working there was so helpful, nice, and charming lol.

Google
So this is very unique place! They take from something like 12 patisserie chef every month one dessert/chocolate/cake etc and sell only that so the costumer can taste from all around the best of Paris. Great idea! And the pistachio tart is just unbelievable, wow!!! Just go and take it! The service is also a key when they let you know everything about the choices and help you choose

Google
This is a place to takeaway patisseries, from well known chef. They also sells magazines with the same title, with recipes in it. Usually the patisseries changes weekly. I have no complain for this place, it gives us the convenience to sample all the great patisseries without going to each and individual location; some chef are also attached to hotels and doesnt have their own namesake shop. Highly recommended if you want to taste the best of the best.

Google
Enjoyed the original Mont Blanc! The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, the chestnut swirls on top had a comforting nutty flavour and a good texture. I appreciated that the staff paid attention to the packaging so that the pastry would not get squished in transit.

Google
Award-winning pastries collected in one shop, which is a nice concept. Drawback is there are very limited seatings. Went on a Saturday and the street was of course full of people which made it not so enjoyable as the whole experience.

Yelp
This was one of the stops on the Paris by Mouth (Left Bank) tour. Not a bakery itself, but works with smaller pastry chefs around Paris. All the gorgeous pastries have signage indicating the maker of the treat. I visited this location as well as the location within the BHV on Rue Rivoli while I was in Paris. They both offered a lovely selection of treats! The caramel brûlée pâte à choux was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life - a sweet caramel cream filling and a crispy brûlée sugar top. I also tried the pistachio tart (salty, not very sweet) , the pear and almond tart (very fresh, not super sweet, and gorgeous), and the chocolate praliné tart (very rich, dark, and indulgent). Overall, this is definitely a patisserie that I will seek out on a future trip to Paris!

Yelp
Had a cookie with chipotle, Caremark, and nuts. It was yummy! Surprisingly on the softer side. I say surprisingly because every cookie we had during our trip before this cookie was hard and crunchy lol. The other desserts looked incredibly delicious and I regret not trying at least one of them. There's seats inside for you to enjoy your treat.

Yelp
I've waited some time to visit this patisserie. Have loyally followed it on instagram so knew what I was going to get into. The cases were full, everything looked so incredible. All I could do was ask for what was most popular. I took a pistachio tart and an Evian water outside and enjoyed an absolute masterpiece of a dessert. I followed this up with a second visit the next day.

Yelp
One stop shop for all the top pastries from a ton of famous bakeries in Paris. I recommend going early in the day or before 5 because alot of the stuff goes quickly. The prices are definitely on the expensive side but the quality and variety seems well worth it, its like purchasing edible art. The selection here is totally unparalleled. The shop is located at the end of a super popular dining strip and near Forum des Halles. I totally recommend checking this spot out if your in Paris and have a serious fetish for pastries!

Yelp
My experience is not a good one mostly because the service was slow, and I mean reallyyyy slow! Otherwise, the patisseries were delicious!

Yelp
This place is amazing. We a chocolate tart and a grey vanilla mousse cake and both were amazing, especially the vanilla bean mousse cake. As others have noted, they curate pastries from different pastry chefs from all around Paris. It's like a really good tasting room for desserts. I love the concept and loved everything I've tried. Five stars because I would be in deep trouble if I lived anywhere close to this shop.

Yelp
If you don't have time to go to the real pastry shops then this curated selection is a great solution. The good news AND bad news is that they offer a limited selection from some of the best places in Paris. These are all brought in from various locations around Paris, so they're not made in the shop. I would rather just go to a favorite place (like Marletti, who is sometimes represented with one or two things), but sometimes it's too out of the way and this will satisfy a craving.

Yelp
Fou de Patisserie is perfect for anyone who wants to try many patisseries but has limited time. They offer a rotating selection from many famous patisseries - on the day I was there they had Carl Marletti, Pierre Herme, Jonathan Blot (Acide Macaron), and a couple of others. I tried the choux/Paris Brest, which had flavors of cola, lemon and praline. The choux was a little soft and I wouldn't put those flavors together in one pastry again, but being able to see selections from so many patisseries was great. So five stars for the concept and three stars for the pastry I had equals four stars overall.

Yelp
Small cute place with the best pastries, madeleines and financiers. There are my favorites macarons by Pierre Hermé and an exquisite cheesecake by Jonathan Blot. They accept all credit cards.

Yelp
I have never had pastry so delicious. Every bite was heaven and the combination of flavors were amazing!

Yelp
Really cute dessert shop with a selection from pastry chefs all over Paris. Love that idea! Tasty treats and a selection of sweet products from places all over France as well.
