Four Seasons (Chinatown - Gerrard Street)

Dry, lacking flavour, devoid of love all things I can say to describe this meal. I waited years to try four seasons and it might have been the biggest culinary disappointment I’ve ever had in the almost years of doing these reviews. What a massive shame! I got the three meat combo with vermicelli noodles. Not only did I have to wait ages for my food when everyone else’s food arrived but my sister who basically ordered the same dish was almost done eating by the time I got it. When it arrived I knew it was going to be a long day. I got roast duck, crispy pork and char siu pork combo. I have had this combination before and after hearing so many influences say they have the best roast meats and even them claiming to to have the best roast duck. What I received was nothing more than subpar. Not only did I receive the driest char siu pork but the duck was also dry. The crispy pork was good but when what they’re supposed to be known ends up being a massive disappointment you don’t even get to appreciate it really. I have had better roast meats at three uncles. The noodles were actually decent though but with the main attraction being poor and I didn’t finish my food this isn’t even a place I can recommend. What made it worse was that I tasted my sisters food and hers was actually decent so it seems they are just totally inconsistent with the quality of their meals. After such a disappointing meal I don’t even know if I want to even go back to give them another chance because I was truly disappointed.

Rating based on order of what they’re famous for. Roasted duck and I also liked the roasted chicken. Everything else was okay. Duck seasoned excellent we it’s soft meat and crispy skin. Sauce was on point. Not too fatty, just tasty buttery. In addition we had egg fried rice”nothing special “, Chinese broccoli, spicy chicken in a pot, pork belly” good”. Meat soup, and fried noodles. As Always, post wherever your bucket list takes you.

I was pleasantly surprised by restaurant ， it really exceeded my expectations! The roast duck was outstanding, crispy skin, juicy meat, and honestly better than what I’ve had at many places in Hong Kong. The other dishes were decent but fairly average. Overall, a solid spot worth visiting, especially if you’re craving great roast duck.

First visit, taken there by friends to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year. The restaurant features authentic Cantonese food - crispy roast pork, pepper pork with chicken soup, soya sauce chicken, fried tofu - and very popular with both locals and tourists. Having often been in China Town to fine that’s by far the best Cantonese food restaurant in the area. The waiters looked after us very well.

I honestly went in with quite high expectations because I had heard so much about this place, especially the crispy duck that everyone supposedly talks about. But the moment it arrived, I knew something was off. The crispy duck, which should have been the star of the meal, was disappointing. The texture was not right, the flavour was flat, and it did not have the satisfying crunch that a good duck should deliver. For a dish that is meant to be famous, it felt like a letdown. The wantan soup was even worse. The broth lacked depth and the wantans themselves did not have the fresh and springy bite you would expect. It was the kind of dish you take one spoon of and already know you will not order again. The egg fried rice ended up being the only good thing on the table. It had good wok aroma, nice seasoning, and was comforting to eat. If not for this, the entire meal would have felt like a total miss. The char siew was questionable. The flavour was uneven and the texture was not enjoyable. As for the roasted pork, I had heard so many good reviews before, but what I tasted was far from impressive. As a Chinese diner, roasted pork is something I take seriously, and this was honestly bad. The skin was not crisp and the meat lacked juiciness. Overall, this meal was disappointing from start to finish. With the reputation they have, I expected much better, but it simply did not deliver.

Had a great dinner at Four Seasons on Gerald Street on our last night in London. The roast duck and roast pork belly with rice were excellent, and the roast duck with char siu noodles was just as satisfying. The hot and sour soup was cooked the right way, perfectly balanced and comforting. Special thanks to Ricky Tam for the excellent and attentive service, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended this place.

There were so many restaurants to choose from here in Chinatown and let me be clear, you will not choose this one for its ambiance. We chose this one because they had different types of duck on the menu and it looked pretty crowded. I loved this place and the Peking duck was delicious. Service was spot on and everything we ordered was very good. I would go back, if I was staying for a longer period of time, and I would recommend this trying it out.

Brought the family of four to eat here on Saturday for lunch. We were walking around China Town and this place has good reviews. Honestly I was all about the duck and pork hanging in the window. It caught my eye from the street. We all got BBQ meats with rice and noodles. The BBQ pork was by far the best. Everyone enjoyed the lunch. The waiters were very friendly and polite. There was a shirt wait outside the restaurant for us to be seated. Maybe 5 minutes.
