Fox And The Hen - Review - LoHi - Denver - The Infatuation

"Fox and the Hen is the first breakfast-only spot from the people behind A5 Steakhouse, Mister Oso, and Forget Me Not. They bring that same playful energy and quality food to the AM meal here, which means you’ll get plates like In-N-Out-esque animal style hashbrowns, fried chicken with cornbread "cupcakes," and Bobby Flay-vos (the winning huevos rancheros chef Carrie Baird made on Beat Bobby Flay). There’s also a damn good bloody Mary named after Bryan Cranston and a full-on wall of local hot sauces. If that doesn’t wake you up, the indoor/outdoor bar and bright, quirky wallpaper will." - Allyson Reedy

The Best Breakfasts in Denver | Eater Denver

"“Fancy toasts” graced with creamed leeks, mushroom conserva, and garlic-kale-Parmesan crunch or soft scrambled eggs, zucchini noodles, sharp cheddar, and chile jam are chef Carrie Baird’s claim to fame. But at this hopping daytime joint in LoHi, she’s become just as well known for her Beat Bobby Flay-winning huevos rancheros, inspired omelets (take McDonald’s or The Bear), and other morning-time munchies. Don’t sleep on the “animal-style” hash browns (in fact, wake up with them)." - Ruth Tobias

The Best New Brunches in Denver | Eater Denver

"With splashes of bright color and touches of kitsch, this new daytime destination in LoHi already feels like a home away from home for the hordes who are descending on it from open to close (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.), hungry for chef Carrie Baird’s kicky take on breakfast fare. While the menu centers on her signature “fancy toasts” topped with caramelized onions and gruyère or carrot caramel, spiced cream cheese, and granola, it’s got plenty more comfort in store, including a Big Mac–inspired omelet, Baird’s Beat Bobby Flay–winning huevos rancheros, and easygoing cocktails like the Blushing Hen with butterfly pea–infused gin, lavender, and ginger beer." - Ruth Tobias

Google
Since I am traveling alone, so it is easy to find a seat at the bar. If there are more than 2 people, usually it will be more than 30min wait. It is a really popular brunch restaurant! Ordered animal style hash brown and avocado toast, both of them are really delicious. And the portion size is really suitable for one person. Also had a latte, which is also good. The most interesting part is that there is fox in the coffee cup.

Was really excited to eat here as it was recommended by a Denver native who lives a few blocks away. We put ourselves on the waitlist at 11, we weren’t seated until 1. The fans on the patio were broken so it was hot, and we weren’t able to switch to an indoor seat. The food looked amazing when it came out but everything looked much better than it tasted. I got a French omelette and the smoked salmon on top was so salty that it was inedible. What a waste of money and salmon! The service was also very slow, we had to ask for the check multiple times. And to top it off, the French toast arrived about 20 min before anything else. Very odd. Overhyped spot.

All of the food we had was really good. The tuna melt was fresh and cheesy, even the people around us were asking about it. The eggs benedict was the perfect breakfast. The golden latte was sweet and creamy. The place looked cozy and wasn't too crowded. The hot sauces went with everything!

Super cool and atmosphere here. I like interior design here and vibe. So friendly!!! Super good cactus water and spring french omelette is incredible, I would say the best omelette in my life! I like eco friendly reusable towels in a bathroom:)

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and absolutely the best omlette I've enjoyed. My wife and I shared a few cocktails, including their pride month offering. I stared with the spicy egg salad on crispy potato because the menu said "everyone needs at least one," and I try to be a rule follower. It was a good first bite, but not the best part of the meal. My wife had the chicken sandwich, which was a special menu item. It was fantastic (I had a bite). For me though, the omlette was the star of the meal. the eggs were fluffy and cooked perfectly. The sauce was a nice complement to the eggs and beet cured salmon, separately, and also as a composed bite. The real treat, however, was the spring peas (not pictured) on the inside. We'll return next time we are in Denver, and reluctantly, I'll try something else from the menu. I should add that our sever was fantastic, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the wall of sauces is a little overwhelming, but in a good way. My favorite was the Colfax Killer. I really enjoyed it on my wife's fries and the greens that were on the side of my dish.

I loved the food and the amazing staff. The problem was seating. I was cold and many people were also. The use of some space heaters outside would be great. Otherwise please go and try a Chai Tea, the Berry dish I had for breakfast was amazing and so light. I had a huge day of walking and didn’t want a heavy meal, I asked one of the team members and they were spot on!

Google
We had the pleasure of indulging in an exceptional breakfast, which was highly recommended by Allen at Senior Bear. The breakfast was exceptionally delectable, to the point where I could easily incorporate it into my daily routine. If you have not yet had the opportunity to experience this culinary delight, I highly recommend it.

Google
This place was delicious!!!! I went twice during our trip. The fried chicken in the fried chicken cupcake was one of the best I tasted. The cornbread was a bit dry but the fried chicken made the dish worth it. I had the chai latte, it was tasty, they added ginger which was really unique. As a ginger girlie, i loved it. The leek mushroom was so good. The mushroom was my favorite part

Yelp
My wife is a huge Food Network Fan. So when she found out this place is owned by a Chef who beat Bobby Flay it was a mystery visit for her. The staff was very friendly and I was surprised that we were able to be seated fairly quickly despite being very busy. All the food was delicious, staff was friendly, and the ambiance was trendy and fun. I recommend paying a visit for breakfast/brunch!

Yelp
I give this place a 4 star. Warning 20% gratuity is already included in the tab but I am sure others have said it. Popped in because my husband saw the place nearby while in LoHi. We came around 1:30 so it was a bit busy. Small establishment but they had a tent for outdoor seating during the winter. We were seated at the community table (suggested to add name to the wait list before leaving for less of a wait) which not my favorite but I get it, it wad busy. Cute aesthetic indoors and a wall of hot sauces to choose from. Our waitress was helpful and friendly and overall anyone that served us was pleasant. Pretty varied menu with options for all taste buds. My husband started with the cranberry orange muffin. It was toasted and placed on what seemed like English cream. It was really good and had great flavor. We also had the specialty drinks: sangria and bourbon hot chocolate. My husband wasn't a fan of his hot chocolate with bourbon but I thought it was good. The sangria overall was good and thanks for filling it to the top. For our meal I got the corned beef hash and he got the banana foster French toast. We both really enjoyed our meals. I was skeptical of the various veggies in the hash but they actually mesh well together complementing the meal. I prefer homemade corned beef than the canned so thankfully they did that. Overall, pretty solid spot in the area and we may stop in again.

Yelp
We like to frequent the Fox and the Hen. It's one of our favorite brunch spots in town. They have a phenomenal drink menu with coffees and adult beverages. And they have a super quirky brunch menu. We have tried most things on their menu and everything is done well. Every now and then we hit something that's just exceptional. But for the most part, you will enjoy the change of pace. They bring something unique to the table in every dish. It's definitely not the way your mama used to do it . And that's the most refreshing part about dining here. The seating is a little cramped. But the decor and how it's put together is delightful. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. It's super entertaining watching the barista go at it, especially when it's busy. Outdoor dining here is quaint and nice. And we will be coming back For more on the frequent.

Yelp
I was very underwhelmed and deceived by the pictures on the menu from site. This place is not your typical breakfast / brunch spot. Although the staff and our waitress was wonderful, as we were immediately seated. The menu was not forthcoming and honestly, we cut breakfast short. In my personal opinion and I feel like they tried to overdo it with all the new age spins on classic, simple American breakfast. Sometimes simplicity is best. The coffee was a bit on the watery side, on the upside of this; they did offer an array of options including different types of flavors for an additional $1 (sugar-free vanilla, lavender etc) We then proceeded to order the sausage rolls under the assumption that we would get 3 (like pictured on the site) for $3. That was not the case as you can see in the picture. We received ONE and the syrup sauce had some type of jalapeño flavor to it, they could've just kept it simple. The hash brown animal style comes exactly how pictured. In addition, they also bring out an imitation of big Mac sauce, and this was not it! The hash brown block was delicious and I would definitely get again if I were to come back. I was also very interested to find out that the owner is allergic to eggs, but majority of the items on the menu included eggs (I was at one point offered vegan eggs because I am also allergic which I decided to pass on) I am in no way trying to sound mean this was my experience. Overall, I will not be back to Fox and The Hen.

Yelp
Had an amazing time getting brunch here! We ordered the Bobby Flavos and Stuffed French Toast. The Bobby Flavos were very good, though nothing exceptional compared to other similar dishes I have had. The Stuffed French Toast was great too, though given how sweet and heavy it is I would recommend splitting as a side between 2-3 people. We also tried the Hashbrowns, Animal Style. They were great and super flavorful. They have a wall with tons of different hot sauces inside that you can try. Many of the fruit based hot sauces didn't seem to pair that well with breakfast food, though the Fat Alley Hot Sauce was great on the Bobby Flavos. Definitely get on the waitlist ahead of time as the wait is quite long. However, once we were seated the service was great.

Yelp
We love the Fox and the Hen! It's bright and sunny and the staff vibe matches the decor. We've received consistently good food and service on repeat visits, and will always recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Definitely get your name on the waitlist in advance, especially if you have a group.

Yelp
Sunday early afternoons are made for places like Fox and the Hen. We purposely showed up post lunch and man, this was a solid choice. Yep, you know we sat outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine, the cool breeze and all the people watching we could stand. Oh, and the pups who were hanging with their owners. Perfection. The food and drink did not disappoint. In fact, as we watched other orders being brought to others, we wanted all the orders, lol. This just means we will be returning. If you haven't been, this is your sign to go. We had such a yummy afternoon and left happy and full. We ended up ordering several things and left NO crumbs, lol. To start: sausage bites and hash browns, animal style - why? Why not :) Eggs benny and the Bear omelette showed up next and somewhere in between we also ordered cocktails. All so good, well seasoned, and for me, the eggs benny was unexpectedly sweet with the fig jam. Didn't hate it, lol. What's next on our food list at Fox and Hen - everything. If you're looking for a cool, cozy place to connect with friends or family over great food, this is a great option. Maybe we'll see you there.

Yelp
This is a really cute place! The vibes are a casual but nice. The food was really tasty, a little higher than some other places (eg ihop or Denny's) but this is a sit down local place so no surprise there. We came on a Friday morning around 11 and there was a 30 min wait quoted to me; we waited about 20 (went to a nearby coffee shop). The service was fantastic, all our servers were helpful and attentive. They gave good recs as well - I really enjoyed my omelette! parking is all on the street and we came in winter/when snowing so be mindful it gets slushy out there and easy to slip (even if you use the sidewalk). Your car is also uncovered, ours did get a good dousing of snow on it. Nevertheless - for a Friday morning brunch, this place was real cute. Would def come back :) Oh also of note they have included fair wage service charge/tip. Overall prices still not too bad.

Yelp
Adorable little place in LoHi section of Denver. VERY popular on a Sunday morning! Definitely add yourself to the waitlist online, using the link from the dropdown menu (as opposed to the link farther down on the web page which doesn't work - that dead link should be removed.) Anyhoo, after a wait of about 1.5 hours, our party of four was seated. We were fine relaxing at one of the tables they've set up outside. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Sarah, who is one of the most delightful servers I've had in a long time. Her gregarious nature and helpful menu highlights made us feel welcome and at ease. Likely due to the long waitlist, we had a note on the table informing us we had the table for 1 hour. It was just barely enough to enjoy a relaxed meal & we had a show to get to anyway. The ambiance is fun & lively --- and loud. Noise absorbing panels on the ceiling would be a welcome upgrade. Super cute decor- even in the colorful, gender-neutral bathrooms. The patio looked awesome though we were seated inside. The main attraction (the food) was fabulous. The Beat Bobby Flay item my friend ordered lived up to its declaration. My friend described the burrito as having a lot going on - in a good way. And those who want hot sauce have a whole bunch to choose from! I chose the nut butter/berry toast - a hearty, healthy(ish) option, perfectly sized. The berry jam added sweetness, while the granola added crunch. The drizzle of honey was a nice touch! And the presentation was gorgeous! I would love to come again if back in the neighborhood and recommend as a lovely breakfast option. Just remember to add yourself to that waitlist!!

Yelp
Now Denver has some fine food, but this place has some unique flavors for the palate! Our table did it up family style and we all took some samples. Every dish had a personality of its own; some sweet where sweet should be and savory in all the right places. And prairie dogs in the bathroom! The atmosphere feels like you're celebrating Valentine's Day all year long- cozy and friendly. If the food wasn't exquisite enough, the service we had was incredible! Our server had the sparkliest eyes I'd ever seen and brought the whole table joy with her personality! Thank Natalie! We'll be back just to hang and get some grub!

Yelp
We had a great brunch here! Easy to accommodate our larger party mid-week and quick service. The environment wasn't too loud but still easy for our team to have some work conversation as needed. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating the staff was to celiac and my need to be gluten free. I'll be back!

Yelp
While in Denver we had some time to kill before Meow Wolf, and brunch sounded like a good idea. Based on reviews, we found Fox and the Hen and decided to try it out. We sat on the covered patio since the weather was beautiful, and the seating was quite comfortable. Our server was friendly and our lattes and food came out quickly. I had Dat Burrito, which was enormous and well worth the price. The red ranchero sauce was spicy, so I did take some of it off to taste more of the flavor of the ingredients inside. My bf had the Avocado Toast and said it was great as well.

Yelp
It's so much fun when a restaurant is an all-sensory experience... this is one of those places! Because this isn't exactly in our neighborhood, I hadn't heard about Fox and the Hen. A friend suggested a meet-up there, and I am so very happy she did! It's a bright, fun place to have breakfast. Best of all... it has amazing food! It starts with a really creative menu, which made it kind of hard to pick. Our server was fabulous in guiding us. We started with sharing the Hashbrowns, Animal Style -- so so good. Our friend chose Green Peas and Ham Benedict -- because she liked the name of it. I chose Avocado Toast, and hubby chose Bobby Flavos (huevos rancheros recipe that the chef here actually beat Bobby Flay in a competition). All were fantastic. We're so looking forward to our return trip!

Yelp
We have not missed a season of Top Chef so we had to get to @foxandthehen_denver for FANCY TOAST! Crazy busy on a Saturday morning so get on the waitlist if you plan to go. We snagged bar seats, so didn't have to wait for long. Again we ordered too much food but we needed to try everything. It was hard to pick. We wanted so many items. I got the fancy toast with spring peas and thyme. It was just what I wanted it to be. Creamy cheese with fresh vegetables and bread . My favorite was the sausage biscuit. The sausage was soft and good balance of fat. The biscuit was buttery and flaky and soft! The sauce on the burrito was chili forward and made the dish. There is also a wall of hot sauces for you to pick from. Great fun addition to brunch.

Yelp
Solid brunch place that is very popular. Everything we had was excellent. Great Bloody's. Can get busy and loud....but that makes it cool. Highly recommend

Yelp
This is a cute little breakfast spot on the outskirts of the downtown Denver area. I ordered a couple different items and was happy with the flavorful kick I received for each one of them. The pizza bagel was exactly as advertised - a toasted white bagel smothered with marinara sauce, cheese and pepperoni and cooked in the oven for a few minutes. The biscuits and gravy were good and had a sausage gravy that was comforting and wholesome. The hashbrowns weren't bad but needed a little extra something sauce wise. Our server was nice and when I asked if there were any hot sauces available for my dishes he pointed at the hot sauce wall that had at least 20 different types of spicy goodness from which I was able to choose. Parking was easy and I would love to return next time I am in the area.
google avatar

Justine S.

Yelp
The service was great and the mimosas and food were good, but it took 2.5 hours on the waitlist to get a table and it was so incredibly loud in the tented area we sat in that we felt rushed to finish our meal and get to a less chaotic space. I am glad I tried it but I probably won't go again.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I had no idea this restaurants chef was on Beat Bobby Flay but when I saw one of the items did I decided why not. I don't usually get huevos rancheros but it was fantastic! As for my chai it definitely felt house made and not from a boxed concentrate which I very much approved of their mix. The restaurant has a modern, colorful farmhouse vibe which was very welcoming. Though it was a cold, slightly snowy Friday morning around 9:30 they were already poppin so we opted to sit right away at their last 2 bar seating options. I can't imagine how slammed they are on the weekend!

Yelp
The food here lives up to the reputation, some of the most incredible breakfast food I've had in a long time. The staff is friendly and accommodating, really makes you feel special! The interior is so adorable and if it wasn't always busy I'd come just to take pictures. It is definitely on the busier side, you really should use their online waitlist if you plan on getting a table! I totally will be back as soon as possible!!!

Yelp
Located in the Highlands, this was a great spot for brunch with friends. Spring is here and it's time to start dining outdoors! It was a sunny morning and the perfect day to be out. Their coffee selection was great and their latte was perfectly brewed. We ordered the hashbrown, big mac omelette, beat Bobby flay flavos, and the avocado toast I had high expectations for the animals style hash brown but was let down by the hardened cheese. The dish arrived cold and the melted cheddar was only half melted, when we cut into the hash brown, you could see the slice of cheese. The hashbrown gets a 2 out of 5 due to it being cold and rather hard. The potatoes were rather over fried, and the edges were rather hard and tough. I'm not sure if it's just the technique of how it was prepped and made but it could've been crispier and fluffier. Maybe the shredded potatoes could've been washed in water to get rid of the starch and then cooked in some sort of fat (duck fat) but that's just me getting fancy (this technique obviously takes much longer). The huevos rancheros gets a 3. Maybe it's just me but I find all heuvos rancheros to taste the same in the end no matter where I get it, and maybe it's just not my type of breakfast item. The Big Mac omelette sounded great on paper and it was executed well but the flavors were ok, it could've used a little bit more seasoning. Portions were definitely huge. Overall it's a good spot with great drinks, but I found the food somewhat lackluster and could use a little bit more seasoning.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot for brunch. Was a rainy day so we sat inside but looks like it had a cute patio for outdoor seating too. I've both tried the fancy toast - I got the French onion soup topping, and my mom got the "friends" one, which was like an open face Reuben with thousand island dressing. Both were good, but the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the price! Both of these were around $17, total bill with these two toasts, one coffee and one grapefruit juice with added 20% service charge came out to $53. So a bit pricey for brunch.

Yelp
Yummmmmalicious!! Came here for brunch on a Friday and had the most delicious meal with the friendliest staff- what a wonderful welcome to Denver! Ordered the iced americano with pistachio syrup (so many different syrup options) with crispy hashbrown, tacos with huevos, huevos rancheros, and a side of bacon. I loved how thicccccc and crispy the hashbrown was - I've never had a hashbrown this thick before! The breakfast tacos were also super yummy and I made sure to get the homemade guacamole and extra sour cream on it. They also have a wall of hot sauces for your liking!!
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I love brunch, and you Yelpers didn't lead us astray! What a rad spot over in Highlands. We got on the wait list as we drove up from The Springs, and somehow when we arrived we were still like 30th in queue, but we only had to wait a few minutes upon check in. Driving toward F&tH I was a little worried that the wait would be too much or the place would feel too crowded because a Broncos game was the same morning. Not at all a problem. Excellent amount of space outside, inside and in a tent (where we sat). Staff was quirky, attentive and fun. They definitely made the experience more enjoyable. Food run down: Bobby Flavos - great huevos rancheros! Dat Burrito (didn't have it but saw them coming out of the kitchen and they looked incredible.) Stuffed French Toast - wow wow wee wow! Sausage Rolls - skip. Best part was the spicy syrup. Not worth $3 each. Hashbrowns, Animal Style - Honestly disappointed. They were so thick that they just had an uncooked texture/taste. Maybe if they were half as thin, and cooked crispy, then stacked two high with cheese in-between... That would be a winner. I'm sure we'll be back. Great experience, and a hot sauce wall to boot.

Yelp
Best breakfast tacos I have ever had! Possibly the best taco I've ever had. It was perfect! It wasn't sloppy, it didn't fall apart, perfect portion of meat, incredible flavors, fluffy moist eggs. Service was great, recommendations were perfect. Ambiance was super cute and homey. Perfect for breakfast. They did a great job decorating and throwing this menu together for the restaurant. Very impressed. You must try!

Yelp
Food= delicious and unique Ambiance= a bit loud but if you eat outside helps if you want to chat. Service= we had an amazing and friendly server! He made us feel welcomed and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised at how relaxed and fun this place was. I will definitely come back with the hubs!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was super friendly. Food came out quickly! Portions were good. The hash brown was way too dense in my opinion and not crispy. The tacos and the huevos rancheros were good though. Pro tip: join the waitlist online prior.

Yelp
Oh Carrie, the love you have for all you do is palpable in the food and environments you create! Brought my friend for brunch and had the best day ever. From the delicious drinks- we had the gin blushing one and the carrot vodka drink- I will be seeing in the dark tonight! Balanced, not too sweet and felt healthy! Ha. Now to the food- we got the breakfast tacos and the beat Bobby flavos and she beat him for a reason! So much flavor, beautiful presentation and attention to detail. The ambiance is fun, busy and happy and all I can say is that playlist makes you want to stay allll day. Loved every minute!!

Yelp
TLDR I didn't even get a photo of this meal -- that's how expensive and disappointing it was! If you live in Denver or LoHi, you'll know that Fox and the Hen has a lot of hype around it... and I'm not quite sure why. After dining here twice now, all I have to say is it's incredibly expensive, the servers are unpredictable whether or not they will be friendly, and the food is just OK... you'd think for paying over $50 for two coffees and breakfast plates you'd be at a luxury hotel? I dined here on a Friday for brunch before Thanksgiving week and when I arrived, I waited just a few minutes for a table (not bad!). I was seated in the outdoor tent which was an OK ambiance, but again -- why such high prices for so-so ambiance, service and food? Although our server was nice -- she was tending to many tables and didn't seem to have much time for us. It took over 10 minutes to just get a black coffee (which wasn't hot). When we finally placed our food order, it became overcomplicated by expensive add-ons. Tell me why a build-your-own omelette is priced at $11 just for the eggs--then each "build" you add, it's an additional $2-4? My dad's omelette ended up being $20 for just spinach and cheese... When it arrived, the promised side of breakfast potatoes amounted to about 4 small pieces-- which we were told are "pre-weighed" to make sure no one is getting more than their fair share! I myself opting for what I thought would be a cheaper breakfast, considering the prices, ordered a side of two poached eggs, 1 piece of toast and barely 1/4 of avocado -- also ended up hitting $20? The food was OK -- not much to write home about. I suppose the menu items you're meant to get that are worth the hype (and supposedly ridiculous price?) are animal style hashbrowns, salmon bagel and avocado toast. This place is charging New York prices unfortunately, and with the rising cost of living -- I can't imagine coming back here unless I was in a pinch. If you are looking for a standard meal - - don't come here and opt for On&Off Cafe or Istanbul Cafe nearby.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem on Saturday evening while strolling downtown. Decided to take it for a spin. The bar was busy but we were able to secure two seats. Bartender made a recommendation on a drink and we also ordered a pizza. Both were a hit and we even ordered a second round of drinks. Crowd was lively but not obnoxious. Walk down the steps and give this place a try!

Yelp
Came here directly from the airport from out of state because I am ever inspired by Carrie's oven made out of SNOW!!!!! And those cute tin can cakes that came out of it. Appalachia queen. Food was good (got the hash brown and the huevos) but the juice shots revived me after an early flight. I ordered 3 LOL. The ginger one was soooooooo good and would def go back just for those. I love Denver's brunch scene because of the vibes like at Fox, where the shady outdoor seating and endless flow of mimosas makes for interesting people watching and a touch of eavesdropping on some very colorful conversations. This place was so alive on a weekday afternoon, definitely recommend hopping on the online waitlist when you're 15 mins away.

Yelp
Service was attentive and kind. Lots of pretty neat decor and a variety of classics and fusions of flavors. Loved the Bobby Flavos with a side of sourdough slices. It was the right amount of spicy and flavor.

Yelp
Fun new little breakfast spot in the Highlands that is a must visit. The ingredients are very fresh and the atmosphere is lively and fun. Come early on the weekends or else you're in for a long wait as this place is hot. Can't wait to return to try another entrée! The corned beef hash was excellent and the price was reflective of the portion size which is somewhat rare these days. Bravo!

Yelp
I came here early on a Wednesday morning with a colleague before starting our workday. It was nice that the outdoor seating was open already and to enjoy the meal outside. I ordered the eggs Benedict. And I loved all the greens in it. This would be a fun place to come on the weekend for brunch. I was a little disappointed in the service here, as well as a quality because my colleague's dish had a hair in it, and the meal had to be completely remade. I know this restaurant is highly rated. However, maybe I had not a great experience because it was early on a weekday. I am willing to give it another try.

Yelp
Is the food good? Yes it is. Is it popular? Absolutely. Is it the best breakfast spot in Denver in terms of taste? Not quite. Fox and the Hen is theeee Denver brunch spot of the moment, and there's a lot to like. The menu is interesting. Service is upbeat. Flavors are solid all around. That being said, does it knock out OneFold and the ghost of Annette's brunch on taste? Not quite. It's really good, and the atmosphere is bright and fun inside, but the food is missing that special something to truly blow you away. Absolutely worth going to and still one of the best breakfasts in Denver.

Yelp
We got the fancy toast #1 and the huevos rancheros. Both were really tasty and the flavors came together well! They have a whole hot sauce wall that you can pick from which was a nice touch. You will definitely want to waitlist yourself early. We came on a Wednesday and was waitlisted for about 45 minutes. Our server was friendly and knew the menu well. The tables were pretty close together which felt a little awkward but besides that, it was nicely decorated.

Yelp
I was last here on September 9th. Today is their first anniversary!! They will have a celebration from Noon to 6pm. I arrived just after 7am. I sat on the patio with 3 other parties. By 8am, the patio was almost full. So business is continuing well. My server, Alicia P says they usually fill up by 9am with a 2hr wait. They do not accept reservations. I got their yogurt parfait with plenty of vanilla yogurt, granola, strawberry and blueberry with seeds on top. Yummy. I added a hot matcha latte made with Oat Milk and a bit of simple syrup. I got the Bobby Flavos that got owner Carrie Baird win the Top Chef competition. Nice presentation with a spicy green chili sauce. I opted for eggs over hard instead of sunny-side up. They still have a 20% service charge to equally compensate all front of house & kitchen staff. You can add additional tip, but not required. I will back sooner.

Yelp
Price is reasonable but I don't like the mandatory 20% tips They should at least tell the customer up front.

Yelp
This place is buzzing! We came for breakfast/brunch on a Thursday morning and it was packed. The restaurant itself is fairly small but there was extended seating in a tented area outside. They also have a bar with a few seats as well. We were sat immediately and greeted shortly after. Since this was our first time visiting the server was eager to help walk us through the menu and give us a list of suggestions. We picked the hash browns, animal style and the French onion soup toast. Deliciousness! I would say this breakfast spot is on the boujee side and it's a little more pricey then other options. So if you're looking for a more traditional style of breakfast this might not be the place for you. However, we really enjoyed everything we ordered and plan to visit again. Don't forget to check out the hot sauce wall!!

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular little spot. Food is incredible and the staff is wonderful. Can't really say a whole lot more. If you're in the area, GO.

Yelp
The food was delicious, it was game days everyone but us had our favorite game jerseys on! We didn't have a reservation but was fortunate to find windows seats at the bar. Everything was cooked to perfection, seasonings were on point. I'm not a big breakfast person, but I will be back there for breakfast!

Yelp
Solid coffee, breakfast tacos are killer, great hot sauces too. My girlfriend did not like her eggs Benedict though

Yelp
Adorable spot for brunch. We got on the waitlist online and slowly our name crept to the top. Easier than going there and waiting - thankful I found that option. The menu is full of tasty items. We decided on drinks first. I got an americano with pumpkin spice syrup and my friend got a Bloody Mary. It was all decked out with garnish - super cool. My breakfast Sammy was tasty - I found a hot sauce along the wall to add to spice it up. I was jealous of my friends confit potatoes - I would have preferred those to the fries I got. Super cute and tasty place - hope to be back!

Yelp
Really great quaint brunch spot. Food was excellent and big portions. I got the Big Mac omelette- love the creativity and my bf got the burrito filled with mushrooms. Very filling and we each had to take some home. We also split the animal style hashbrown - yum! Unique drinks as well...prickly pear and orange Julius cocktails. Service was egg-cellent as well on Easter and they even had candy filled eggs for all to enjoy. Really hoping that poptart on their website is on the menu next time we come here!

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim for breakfast ... knew before the food even arrived that we'd be coming back! Great little place with interesting and approachable menu. Our server, Oliver, is five stars all by himself. :0) The breakfast burrito with its sauce was so good - fresh and rich. The corned beef hash was incredibly good as a sort of deli/Mexican fusion hearty dish. Little sausage rolls were fun to try as breakfast "appetizers." Let's talk about ambiance. The music playlist was perfect for a Saturday morning. Location is a converted house in the Highlands, open and easy to get around including well-stocked bathrooms. We saw families with well-behaved little kids, singleton cool kids, middle-aged couples like us. It was a great mix.

Yelp
Whilst visiting our son, who's a chef, we decided to try this joint. We were not disappointed! Even he, who doesn't do breakfast, said it was good. That's like Bobby Flay saying that you're gorgeous. Of course, I had to try the world famoso huevos rancheros, which were amazing! Boss Lady and son shared the hash, delicious! They wall-o-salsas is way cool. Next time we're in the Great White North, we'll definitely eat here again.

Yelp
We made it to Top Chef Carrie Baird's (James Beard Finialist) restaurant for breakfast this morning. It was wonderful and inventive. What we had.... Animal Style hash brown was crispy on the outside but nice and fluffy on the inside. The American cheese, sauce and onions really captured that Animal Style is intended. The Bobby Flavos. Absolutely a must order! The meat was so flavorful, tortillas crispy and the egg was perfectly runny. Fancy toast #1 was savory, spicy and sweet all at the same time. Perfectly scrambled eggs, zoodles and the pepper jam perfectly rounded out this dish. The decor was fun and vibrant. I really love the prairie dog wall! The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch when in Denver.

Yelp
My husband and I got the Huevos Rancheros, which was very good. Our drinks from the bar were tasty and strong. We would go back again when in the area

Yelp
This place is really good! I watched Chef Carrie on her season of Top Chef and when we found out we were going to Denver we just had to stop by. And I'm glad we did! Came here for my birthday brunch and it did not disappoint! Immediately when you walk up you catch to the vibe of the restaurant. It's fun and bubbly and very cute! I ordered the beat Bobby Flay-vos and they were DELISH! A must have! We tried other things as well and everything was very good. The service was great. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and helpful. One even went to make sure Chef Carrie came over to say hello when we told her why we were there. The entire experience was great and I can't wait to go back again. I will say it was packed so I would recommend hopping on the Open table waitlist ahead of time.
