"Planned to follow the Gold Coast location, the Old Town Foxtrot at the corner of North Avenue and Wells Street is part of the measured reopening approach LaVitola says he prefers; an opening date hasn’t been announced, and some vendors said they joined the comeback because the company isn’t rushing to reopen every previously closed store." - Ashok Selvam
"At 1562 N. Wells Street in Old Town new ownership says it intends to reopen the Foxtrot location and expects to share timing later this week. The chain, which started as a liquor-delivery app, expanded into a brick-and-mortar concept — an upscale bodega selling trendy snacks with an espresso bar and on-site beer and wine — before abruptly shutting three months ago along with 32 other locations across several cities. The reacquisition is tied to founder Mike LaVitola, now chairman of the revived entity, and involved a $2.2 million lone bid by Further Point Enterprises at a May auction. Locals and vendors are reacting in mixed ways: some are glad to see stores potentially return, vendors are split between hope and frustration over unpaid orders, and former workers continue legal actions over missing wages." - Ashok Selvam
"Foxtrot has left the building. A report from Eater Chicago reveals that Outfox Hospitality, which merged Foxtrot and the Chicago-based Dom’s Hospitality five months ago, will file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Its stores in Texas, D.C., and Illinois are all closed. All Dallas locations of Foxtrot are marked permanently closed on Google Maps, and the brand’s website has been taken down." - Courtney E. Smith
"Another location of Foxtrot Market is slated to open in the Willis Tower next spring." - aimee.levitt
"If you’d only seen the CTA ads for Foxtrot Market, you’d probably think it was just one of 17 apps you can use to get a six pack and toilet paper delivered to your apartment. That’s true, but they're also shops with upscale groceries, booze, and $30 candles. The one in Old Town serves breakfast all-day too, with things like bagel sandwiches and spicy chicken biscuits. The food probably won’t blow your mind, but it’s ideal when you need a quick bite while picking up a pint of Jeni’s, a bottle of Chardonnay, and compostable garbage bags." - Josh Barnett
