The Best Sandwich Spots In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"This Riverside spot is more of a butcher shop than a restaurant, so you already know the kind of sandwiches you’re here for (sorry, vegetarians). That would be a variety of masterpieces that excellently showcase their premium meats. The ATL Chop fills a soft baguette with thick and buttery wagyu beef, tons of lettuce, onions, peppers, and a generous slathering of their tangy orange sauce. It’s hearty enough to prepare a bear—or a whole baseball team—for winter hibernation. For a lighter choice, snag the Mr. Pink—a spinach herb wrap stuffed with salmon, meaty bacon, sriracha, and a creamy slaw. Plus, we can confirm their thinly shaved roasted ribeye, piled high on a savory onion roll, is fully besting that fast food chain that claims they have the meats." - juli horsford, nina reeder

Where to Find Tinned Fish in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This Riverside neighborhood butcher shop and market run by Mark Frazie has a variety of meats, seafood, bread, gourmet sandwiches, olive oil, and wine. Now, a new addition will be found on the shelves. This week, the shop is stocking up on Fishwife tinned fish, a woman-founded company by Becca Millstein and Caroline Goldfarb, for $16 each." - Henna Bakshi

Frazie's Meat & Market - Review - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Walk in the doors of this Riverside butcher shop and mini market and there’s usually a crew of meat lovers gazing down lovingly at slabs of filet mignon and housemade sausage links in the display case. The rest of the shop includes some produce, a few pre-made items, and what we really come here for: the excellent sandwiches, which are made from their butcher meats. When we want a hearty sandwich that'll have us set for hibernation, we get the ATL Chop with chunks of wagyu beef, tons of lettuce, onions, and peppers drenched in a tangy orange sauce. For lighter lunch, snag the Mr. Pink spinach herb wrap filled with salmon, bacon, sriracha, and a creamy slaw." - Juli Horsford

This place is awesome was working in the area saw it went inside and was blown away at the quality of meats and variety that they had to offer. We had the privilege of meeting WRYAN and let me tell you this guy is a real pro, very welcoming nice knowledgeable and knows tons about meat. It was actually an enjoyable and educational experience wind up buying a bunch of products and are very happy with them. We're certainly going to go back and make this our go to place. Again, thank you WRYAN for being such a great guy and butcher. YOU ARE AWESOME!

Went here on a Saturday for lunch and do glad I did because the sandwiches where delicious! We had the ATL Chopped and the Arby's Who sandwiches. Totally worth the drive from Decatur. Also the owner was friendly and made sure we had a great experience. I can't wait to go back.

My friend from out of town goes way back with the owner. We stopped by for a sandwich and steaks (skirt) and picked up some of the chimichurri sauce for our steaks. This was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had at home. The sandwich names are all funny and creative, and there is so much variety to choose from. My short-term memory is failing me, and I forgotten the name of the sandwich, but it had smoked bologna with a aioli sauce and it, too was amazing. We had collard greens as the side, and they were on point, as well. I will be back!

We love that we can walk to Frazies to get everything we need for a delicious meal! You can shop for ingredients to be your own chef, buy prepared dishes to pop in the oven (the twice baked potatoes are soo good), or buy awesome sandwiches ready to eat! They also have a nice beer and wine selection and king of pops for a quick treat.

This market is a MUST STOP when in ATL! Fresh meats and fish, frozen meats and fish along with pastas, sides, and dessert- one stop shopping! The staff and owner are the friendliest and super knowledgeable. Frazie's uses local items, so they know their products. We tried the Flower Child and Arby's Who? sandwiches that were outstanding! The roast beef was tender and didn't need any sauces for those who prefer less condiments. We didn't know that a portobello mushroom could be so flavorful!! We loved our experience because not only great food, but every customer and worker seemed like instant family! A true GEM!

Love this spot! I come in Sundays for my salmon wrap and collards. It’s clean, service is great and although they take their time with each customer, things still move quickly. The only thing I don’t like is how long it took for me to realize this place was so close! 😂

Google
Frazies is one of my go-to spots for lunch! The Apollo is sooo good, and the salmon wrap never misses. Great portions and the sides are solid, I’m a fan of the macaroni for sure. One thing I really love is that they carry some of the best probiotic drinks and kombucha around. It’s the perfect balance of tasty and good-for-you. Definitely a hidden gem!

Yelp
Cute little market in the Riverside community with street parking available in front and behind. My husband and I have wanted to come here for a long time and finally made our way here on a Tuesday afternoon the week of Thanksgiving. This place was wonderful! Walked in and there were coolers with various craft beers, a table with fancy wines that I've never seen before. The staff was super helpful and answered various questions that was had. There was plenty of fresh vegetables, meat options, various marinated chicken, pre-made sides, and deli cuts as well. The prices were reasonable and the quality was great. We will definitely be back here soon!

Yelp
After visiting visiting two more times, updating my review. Visit 2 - After raving about the greens to J, he wanted to give them a try - so we stopped by. Customer service was completely different. I think one of the owners waited on us and he was very distracted and seemed upset. Everyone has an off day, so that's not a big deal, but the greens were completely different. The sauce / broth / pot liquor was very thick and overpowered the greens. There was also very little meat in them. Visit 3 - Last week, my brother convinced me to venture back over with him. I did mention to him that the greens were 'different' when J and I came. But I threw caution to the wind because those greens on the first visit were just so good. (I even attempted to replicate them at home and managed to whip up a pretty good replica. Mine turned out very tasty, but oily. Lol. The barbecue sauce separated.) We were pleasantly surprised to see that they were open, even though it was a holiday (MLK Day). My brother called to confirm that they were open. When we arrived, the same gentleman from Visit 2 was a the register, and once again, he seemed a bit annoyed and distracted. Don't get me wrong - he answered my questions and he was not outright rude, but the friendliness and welcoming attitude we received during Visit 1 was absent. My brother purchased two containers of greens for himself, two containers for me, and a Hoss sandwich with a side of greens for me. The Hoss is pulled pork, topped with coleslaw, pimento cheese - served on an onion roll. I omitted the pimento cheese. I don't eat potato salad. Not a huge fan of potato chips and the mac & cheese is the 'creamy' style mac & cheese (versus the baked casserole / Béchamel sauce style), so I chose the collard greens as my side too. Lol. Overall - The sandwich was 'okay.' The best part was the bread. The pulled pork was sparse and at one point I bit into a blob of fat. Argh. But the biggest disappointment was the collard greens 'broth' was thick again. I tried a bite / had them as a side as soon as we got in the car - and also tried some from my packaged container later that evening. My brother said his were like that too and we both agreed that we preferred the way they were prepared on Visit 1. I understand that consistency isn't always possible in restaurants like this (when things are scratch-made fresh and ingredients are locally sourced), but I don't think this collard greens thing falls under that category. After averaging my three visits, decided to give them a 3.5.

Yelp
Frazie's Meat & Market is a must try + worth the drive spot. The market carries a variety of local and artisanal products, wine, sodas, sauces, honey, spices, popsicles, in house frozen foods, frozen meat, dog treats and a ton more! The butcher side proudly boasts "Farm to Family" and their sandwiches (made from their meat) Do NOT disappoint! Thursdays they do a must try smash burger! I wish every neighborhood had a Frazie's. Go try it out, let me know what you think!

Yelp
Yes! We were so excited to try this place out because local meat market and sandwiches. Walking in the owner greeted us and was so happy! It really made you feel like you were at a small hometown spot. The shelves were not completely full but they just opened so i understand. We ended up getting some skirt steak for tacos and two sandwiches. The wagyu looked to die for!! These sandwiches are a huge win in my books holy moly! I got this one with bologna, pimento, arugula and an aioli. My husband got a steak sandwich with carmelized onions. I have never had better sandwiches and bread was soft and fresh. I was amazed! The owner gave us some collard greens broth as well to try. He seems so passionate i almost wanted to just hang out there with him. If you support local places this is the one to go to. From the service, meats selection (and fish), and overall feel of the pla

Yelp
Have you been to Frazie's yet? Excited about this new butcher shop. They not only have great meat and seafood but wine as well. Staff and owner are super nice and helpful. If you don't feel like cooking a full me, do like I did: buy fresh protein (I picked up Chilean salmon to cook), get a bottle of wine and some premade dudes. I bought couple of Frazie's sides: pasta salad and the Brussels with bacon. They were both so good!!! I'n addition, I tried their pork belly gourmet sandwich. It was delicious!!! There are a few seats inside and plenty outside. Street parking is available on Hollywood. Make your way to Frazie's! It's a great addition to Riverside.

Yelp
Just had THE BEST sandwich of my life. It's their Sunday special called The Hangover. Chimichurri marinated skirt steak with scrambled eggs, grilled onions and pepper, tomato, with some special sauces and sriracha, wrapped in a spinach tortilla and grilled. I mean.... I cook, I love eating out, I like to think I know good food ... and I'm floored. 17/10 rating on this sandwich. My husband got the ATL chop and was obsessed w his choice as well. Try the collard greens - I don't like them normally but I loved theirs. Further, of course, is the market. Also a top notch experience. Very unique things and a ton of local produce and farm eggs. The butcher and seafood choices are quality and dependable. Can't wait to go back. Worth a long detour just to have their sandwiches, then pick up a bottle of wine and a snack in their market for your journeys.

Yelp
Fantastic neighborhood addition. Grabbed the Sunday breakfast sandwich special and some filets. Quick service, friendly staff!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem now, but probably won't be soon. It's too good to stay hidden. I got the Atlas sandwich. I'm a big sandwich guy. Pride myself on trying a lot of them. This one is up there near the top. Steak cooked perfectly. The jam is delicious. Bread is perfect. Greens are crisp. It's just a very well made sandwich all around. Also picked up some pork chops last weekend for the grill and they had to be some of the biggest chops I've ever seen. Tossed em on with just some salt and pepper and they were great. Like I said, this place is a hidden gem now, but with friendly staff, killer sandwiches, meat and a market to boot... it won't stay that way. It'll be the prize of Riverside soon.

Yelp
Hello my peeps! It's been a hot minute, part of it's life gets in the way and part of it is finding places that are truly worth the time to share thoughts on Yelp. Y'all know from my reviews I'm kinda in to food. Like. A lot. I want to steer you in the right direction. This is a spot you must put on your compass, in your GPS, find it with a sextant. Hell, use bloodhounds for all I care, but find you way to this new Riverside shop run by residents of Riverside. What I love more than food? Supporting local. You should too. The man gets enough of our money - support the little guys! TL;DR - New butcher shop, fish monger, food market to the Riverside area that is run and staffed by awesome people ready to answer questions and get you exactly what you are looking for. Easy parking and high quality. You're missing out if you don't check these guys out. ** So what is a Frazie. Well on one hand it's one of the owners and the big bearded always smiling guy behind the counter who is absolutely primed and ready to answer any question or help anyone. It's also a new, I'll call it neighborhood market, that just opened in Riverside. On street parking along with some off street parking lot spots behind the building make this a super easy in and out. Bring your furry friend? There's a fresh water station by the front door. Inside you'll find a wide range of small business produced foodstuffs. From eggs sourced around the neighborhood (check these out!), indigo popcorn from S.C., homemade dog treats. Along one wall is a freezer/refrigerator bank that is filling out with a whole host of goodies. A growling selection of local cheeses (burrata, anyone?), single cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken all ready to head home with you. Yet more doors full of pre-made take-home options, today it was several different taco kits - perfect for that oh f&*( I don't want to cook tonight evenings. Takes minute and browse the case, I promise you'll find at least one thing you can't resist and will plop in to your shopping basket. Near the entrance is the eye candy. The alter. The stage. The meat case. One side is filled with a wide range of incredibly high quality pork products ranging from ground pork in bulk, beautiful bone in or boneless chops and more. Keep going and it's the beef side of the house - lots of options here as well, either Wagyu or Certified Angus Beef (it'll be marked as CAB). Oh - they'll cut or trim anything you want - just ask! Further around the corner are some pre-marinated and ready to take home chicken options (hello weeknights!). Last but not least and unfortunately tucked in the corner is the fresh fish case. Today's options were some really excellent looking snapper, a beautiful chunk of tuna (gonna sear some of that tonight), and lots of the finest farm raised salmon you can get from Verlasso. No time for big cooking? No worries, checkout the blackboard which will have the days sandwiches. They will tingle those adverse to higher price points, and if that's you I'm sorry but these guys are making everything in these sandos from scratch, with love, using premium ingredients. I just finished the Mr. Gogi and it was a delightfully smoky, Korean-y, slightly messy pile of deliciousness that I'll dream about. Long story not short - get to these guys and give them a shot!

Yelp
Frazie's is my favorite new neighborhood spot! I've tried 3 sandwiches so far, and every one has been so good I was sad when I finished it. The staff are also extremely friendly and clearly invested in maintaining a friendly neighborhood shop vibe. They introduce themselves and are happy to talk about the shop. We even got a sneak peek before it was open! I can't recommend Frazie's enough!
google avatar

Yelp
We love the food at Frazie's! The atlas and the ATL chop are our favorites. The collard greens are really yummy as a side as well. You can also pick up delicious jams and dips as they have a grocery as well. Love coming here they are always so kind and welcoming!

Yelp
One of Atlanta's best (not just new) meat markets and sandwich shops, and it's in the up and coming Riverside neighborhood I love dropping by for a freshly butchered steak or one of their ATL Chop sandwiches. Great spot

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! I could not resist trying their Atl Chop - which is a hamburger meets cheese steak - and it was delicious. The meat and fish all look great and very reasonably priced - as was their wine selection - which is refreshing. Everyone was extremely friendly and engaging and I look forward to bringing my family here and this may be my new lunch spot... Support this local business!

Yelp
I visited Frazie's yesterday for the first time and have nothing but good things to say. I got the ATL chop and it was absolutely delicious. Amazing food, service and ambiance. Frazie's is such great addition to the neighborhood. I can't wait to go back to shop the market and get another ATL chop!

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches!! High quality ingredients and soooo tasty! The best I have had in Atlanta hands down. The owner is extremely nice too! Their market is also adorable, which includes various meats, wines, chips and crackers etc.

Marcy Y.

Yelp
This is the most long overdue review I have ever written. The fact that I'm still writing it 4 months later speaks for itself. Last December I was flying into Atlanta to spend the Christmas holidays with my family. I wanted to recreate the traditional Swedish Christmas Eve dinner that I grew up having. A number of phone calls to find a fresh ham, not smoked or cured, were fruitless. YELP pointed me to Frazies and I am so glad it did. I left an after hours message about what I was looking for. Sarah returned my call early the following morning, letting me know they could make it happen. I was thrilled! Mark followed up to get the details. Miraculously, they were able get delivery of the ham from the farm, on the day I flew into town. Not sure you can get fresher than that! We swung by the market on our way from the airport. The ham was on its way. From the farm. That day. WOW. While we waited, freshly ground beef & ground pork, artisan bread and hot sauces filled our basket. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab a sandwich. My son had the highly recommended Southern Gentleman, and wasn't disappointed. In fact, he said it was fantastic. I opted for The Atlas. Absolutely off the hook. Our fresh ham, hand delivered , arrived just as we were finishing our sandwiches. Perfect timing. Perfect experience. Thank you Mark, Sarah and team at Frazies. You've raised the bar! Marcy Fayetteville, AR

Elaine H.

Yelp
This place is great! A good selection of fresh meats and fish and you can also get a fantastic sandwich after you pick out your protein for the week! Highly recommend Frazies! Let's make sure we keep them around!

Bryan H.

Yelp
An absolute gem and worth the drive to the Westside. Great selection of premium proteins.

Janis F.

Yelp
Bought a ham for the holidays and it was awesome. Best ham i have ever eaten. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Even though he had never heard of fresh turkey butts or tails. He thought it was so funny. I recommend this place 100%. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Place is awesome. Great selection and amazing quality. Really appreciate shopping local at this spot. Also, super knowledgeable staff.

Maddie G.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! I highly recommend visiting hungry because the sandwiches are truly out of this world. The owner was so friendly and knowledgable with recommendations on cuts. It's a high quality place and feels great to be able to support a local neighbor! Run, don't walk to Frazies!!
google avatar

Gary J.

Yelp
Frazie has some of the best sandwiches you'll ever try. I'm lucky enough to be his neighbor and had the chance to test some of his new creations as he began to prep his menu. That, and they also have incredible cuts of meat & seafood available, and a great variety of delicious & unique pre-made side dishes. Obviously a great addition to the Riverside neighborhood.

Veronica E.

Yelp
This is our absolute favorite butcher shop in ATLANTA! I'm so thrilled it's so close to our house in the upper westside. We buy all our meats, fancy cheeses, sides and seasonings from Frazies! They have amazing locally sourced products, sandwiches, and the best service! This business was so needed and is so appreciated in our neighborhood, we are so happy Frazies is in town!

Erica M.

Yelp
Went to Frazies Meat and Market yesterday for their grand opening. This place is beautifully laid out. Some of the offerings in the shop are so unique! They have things I've never seen and I bought several. So far they are all delicious! Also, we tried all 4 sandwiches. They were all amazing. They came out quickly, they were hot and incredibly flavorful. One thing I was surprised by was the delicious artisan breads the sandwiches come on. We couldn't pick a favorite! I highly recommend this place!

Durand P.

Yelp
Have come in 5 times each time better then the last. They have this chubby chef that wears a pink beanie all the time. Highly recommend getting the sandwich when he's there. Officially my new spot for lunch. Exceptional variety of meat cuts and take home meals. Only thing missing is beer and TV however my wife might be against that

Katie B.

Yelp
Excellent meat options and even better folks behind the counter. Great local spot. Will be back!
