NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Brunch enthusiasts, listen up: Friend of a Farmer’s second location on the Upper West Side seems like one of the coziest places to eat eggs benedict this fall. We also see evidence of a fireplace in their new space. Their original location in Gramercy Park has been open since 1986, so it’s safe to say they probably know a thing or two about making really good eggs at brunch, or a really good kale caesar at dinner. After eating here, you will feel as if you really are a friend of a farmer. The atmosphere boats of European farmhouse with skylights that add such a natural beauty and charm. The dishes are comforting, satisfying, and delicious while still feeling fresh and healthy. Our server was wonderful. So kind and welcoming. If you’re in the area, this is worth a stop. I enjoyed the chicken pot pie and my husband enjoyed the shepherds pie, which reminded me of my own mother’s cooking. Yum.

The food was incredibly tasty, and the restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decorations were lovely, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I must mention the fresh-squeezed orange juice—it was a refreshing change from the processed juices I’ve had elsewhere. It was so good that I couldn’t resist ordering it again. However, there was one minor issue: the cup size for Americano, coffee, and latte was too small. The handle was so narrow that it was difficult to hold the cup comfortably. Usually, the handle has a large hole that allows your finger to fit through, but this one was too small. I understand that they may have limited supplies, but it would be more convenient if they could offer larger cups. On a positive note, the rest of the food was delicious. We arrived just after opening to try the “from the bakery” special on the menu, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. I was disappointed because I had been looking forward to trying it.

4.5 stars. The setting at Friend of a Farmer is very quaint and comfortable— perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch. This is a family friendly place with inviting and kind staff. The eggs benedict and the lox toast were beautifully prepared and delicious. The skylights above provide just the right amount of soft lighting. Close to Central Park to follow your meal with a nice walk. Recommended.

Google
What a beautiful restaurant! Our server Mitchell really made the experience for us- he was amazing! Thoughtful recommendations & the service was so quick we got so lucky coming here as we still had time to make our show and have a delicious dinner. We had the fried chicken as an appetizer & the smoked salmon but the branzino short rib was the real treat. Thank you Mitchell we can’t wait to return!! 10/10

Google
Delightful place that teleports you from UWS city vibe to a rustic, cozy, upscale tavern-meets-farmhouse the second you walk in. Ambiance is romantic, warm lightly with spacious neat seating. The menu is curated seasonal farm-to-table like with a mix of familiar American country staple & creative global flavors. Some interesting items weren’t available when we wished to order which was a bit disappointing. Really liked their corn bread, charred peach & ricotta, terry allen chicken, country grain bowl, pot pies, & warm chocolate chip cookie. Service is pleasant & polished yet somewhat relaxed. Prices are a tad high but decent for an occasional treat.

Had brunch at this location before going to the Museum of Natural History. Found by walking on the sidewalk really, we got caught up in the name. Beautiful ambiance, the decoration is great and farm-y. I had the omelette with salmon, which tasted great. Weird comment and total personal preference, but would have liked a better egg-salmon ratio? It made it a bit salty but hey if you LOVE salmon… this is for you. Nevertheless, delicious. Also don’t miss the French-pressed coffee; it highlights the brunch experience. Definitely a cute spot for brunch.

Google
It’s a good place to eat but for my personal taste eggs benedict’s were a bit too heavy. I may be not the biggest fan of crab option since it’s a bit too dry. Also portion is enormous, I didn’t even touch potatoes. Service is good.

Google
Oh my goodness! So glad that I finally made it to this wonderful place. It is cozy and comforting. I came directly here for the classic of classic comfort foods…. Chicken pot pie! And I was not disappointed. It's a sweet and cozy space. The bartender was great. The host is great.Just a wonderful experience. Thank you! 4-7-25 Have returned a couple of times. I LOVE this place! It's a work of art. Wonderful, cozy design and decor. The staff is wonderful. I've also met the owners who are so gracious and welcoming. The food is fabulous. And the music!! The best soft, smooth, sweet music (light piano jazz) that actually relaxes the soul and leaves plenty of space for conversation. Such a beautiful environment. Conscious and mindful. Thanks to this family.

Yelp
Comfort food in a cozy setting! The food was perfectly cooked, warm but not too hot to eat. The meal started with some free cornbread topped with apples. So delicious! Then we got the mushroom special, they were tender and flavorful. Our main courses had mouthwatering chicken, not dry at all. The pot pie crust melted in your mouth. The chicken over lemon bread was such an interesting mix of flavors and textures that I was glad that I tried. The inside is so cozy and dimly lit at night, perfect for a date. I would come back here to grab a drink at the bar too. The staff was accommodating, sweet, and gave us the perfect amount of attention checking in with us without being overbearing.

Yelp
Met my daughter for breakfast and it was terrific! Excellent service, nicely pressed cotton napkins, and lots of homey decor made a comfortable setting. Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice was the best! Fast service and very fresh tasty food. My 'healthy farmer' egg white omelet was stuffed with feta, spinach, and tomatoes and served in a small cast iron skillet. It came with a delicious side salad of fresh greens. I'll be back! Outdoor seating too on a quite street, Upper West Side NYC.

Yelp
Well if you need a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city Friend of a Farmer is the spot to try, a quiet cozy atmosphere awaits you and the seasonal changing menu has plenty of tasty options to tantalize your taste buds We started with the roasted cauliflower and the sautéed mushrooms both were fresh and tasty appetizers my partner had the chicken pot pie for dinner and I opted for the halibut both came to the table hot and were excellent entree's that exceeded our expectations as we always heard good things about the Friend's brunch dinner was superb as well, the service by Muritzio was attentive & professional and sitting by the warm fireplace on a chilly winter night added to the wonderful experience

Yelp
A super tasty brunch, though a bit over priced. I was able to walk in as a group of 3 around 10a and we were seated without an issue. Our food came quickly and even though they were in the throws of brunch service, the staff was helpful and didn't rush us out (to a point)

Yelp
My new fav place in the uws. Had the mud pie and blueberry sour beer. Both delicious and well served! Service was spectacular for a New Year's Eve afternoon. And the decor is just warmth

Yelp
A tasty brunch that was easy to get into with or without a reservation. It's cute inside like a countryside home. They had good traditional breakfast and brunch items, including cocktails. We all enjoyed what we ate and were pleasantly surprised by the lemon ricotta pancakes. The service was good with attentive and helpful staff, including the host. Would recommend this location.

Yelp
Fairly good new american cuisine with an interesting menu. Very cozy atmosphere though quite a loud dining room. We unfortunately had a bad experience with service the day of our meal. Unsure if it was training of new staff, a shift change, or something all together, but after our meals were delivered, we were basically left alone for close to 45 minutes. The replacement server was nice enough to offer a free glass of wine after the fact, but I had really hoped to enjoy some more wine with my duck. The food itself was good. I did enjoy my duck! It was a nice meaty and perfectly cooked bit of bird. The appetizer was a seasonal offering that was over all too sweet and pretty ho hum. Wouldn't mind trying the brunch here as I've heard it's quite good and would love to try other seasonal offerings.

Yelp
I came to the establishment for the first time the day before Thanksgiving. It was conveniently located close to the Macy's balloon inflation event. They were able to accommodate a party of 10 although two of us were at a separate table. We also didnt book as 8 the reservations were made separately but they kept us close. The first thing i noticed about the establishment is that they really went all in on the theme. It was cute. The food was good and the drinks were tasty. I had the key to the park which is a must. Maybe not at 11:30 am but hey it was almost noon. I like that they were able to accommodate 5 kids under 3. They had multiple booster seats and i think a high chair. If you frequent restaurants with a toddler you know most places only two high chairs if any at all. I'll definitely be back maybe not with 10 ppl but i enjoy3d my time there.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff and Interesting decor. Ordered their signature fall dish chicken pot pie and Sheppard's pie. Went in without a reservation on a Wednesday night and got a nice table in the back! Ended the meal with a skillet cookie! We will be back!

Yelp
Lately, it's tricky finding a cozy spot for brunch or happy hour on the Upper West Side. But the bar area at Friend of a Farmer feels like you're in the countryside at a timeless inn. The bartender who served us was fun and welcoming and you have not lived until you've tried their pancakes. Their wine list needs some attention, especially as their philosophy leans towards "farm to table" and local. I'd love to see them explore some local wines.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner and another great experience! I ordered the Terry Allen chicken and while it was tasty, it wasn't my style especially with the lemon bread. Next time I'm going to see the chicken pot pit. the gin and juice was tasty but alcohol seemed a little light. Service was great and dining in the back was great and Intimate.

Yelp
I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. It's like stumbling onto a small quaint farm with kind people who run it in the middle of NYC. As soon as we arrived our lovely waiter took care of every need. First we had an amazingly delicious Bloody Mary. However, I needed a little caffeine and decided to also go with the cold brew this was as equally amazing. I had for lunch the omelette and my friend the sandwich. Everything taste so fresh. Now the decor is just so quaint, with hanging baskets, fruit, even the outdoor seating area is adorably decorated. If you like brunch, this is your place!

Yelp
Everything tasted amazing! I was literally shocked by the corn bread and the service was amazing. Everyone was so friends and the restaurant was beautiful

Yelp
I've eaten at Friend of a Farmer UWS several times. While the food is consistently delicious, I was extremely disappointed with the service when I was recently there for lunch. Apparently they were shorthanded that day. We arrived before noon so the restaurant wasn't that busy - yet. We ordered beverages and those came in a timely manner. After that the restaurant got busier and service went steadily downhill. We had to chase down our waiter to order lunch. The poor waiter was obviously stretched thin & was doing his best. It took a while for the food to come out, but when it did it was delicious. There were long waits for the table to be cleared, to get refills on beverages, to order dessert and to get a check. Very disappointing. My rating reflects the service & overall experience, not the food.

Yelp
When you step into Friend of a Farmer, you are instantly transported out of the busy, loud city into a zen, calm, cozy, and quiet space. The wood and fire place are rustic and beautiful. Plus, the service was extremely friendly and attentive. Last, but not least, the food was excellent. I enjoyed the brussels salad with grilled chicken. We also enjoyed the corn bread with apple compote that was served when we sat down. With so many great options, I look forward to coming back to try much more (the pot pies and short rib are calling me!).

Nigel M.

Yelp
I ordered the Garden Omelette and subbed in egg whites. The food is amazing, the side of home fries adds a nice balance to the spinach omelette. The service is great, striking the balance between being attentive and also providing space for you and your group to have privacy. It's a large and spacious space that feels quite rustic yet sophisticated.

Yelp
Ate here Oct 27, 2023 and held back because was really excited to eat here, I like what they stand for and I thought maybe I need to try breakfast before dropping this bomb...everyone has off nights, but FoF was not cheap, had a mostly bad food, and had poor service experience. The most redeeming thing about the place was a nice room, and though my cocktail was nothing special, it was good. My mom was ok with her wine, too, after switching from the one recommended by the waitress. We were seated in the rear, at a large table behind the fireplace which felt like It was hidden, especially from the waitress. Service was slow, and while the waitress was nice enough, she also didn't make good recommendations...sorry to say. Had the cauliflower, which sounded great, but it was charred, not tender, and just not good because the lemon basil sauce felt like it could've come out of a supermarket and there wasn't enough to cover more than just the very top. The market fish was good, but nothing special and I found a piece of plastic in my fish. Had the charred eggplant, which sounded like a great mixture , but it just did not coalesce into anything special.... All this said, I think the breakfast looks amazing, and I might come back and change this in the future.

Yelp
I saw this spot on a News program, saw what they were cheffing up and thought, wow, looks like a good place to visit. Needed something like this on the Upper West Side. Finally! I went for the breakfast session and it did not disappoint. I had the Pancakes, scrambled eggs and a cheese biscuit. The Pancakes were delicious, thick and fluffy, eggs were perfectly scrambled the way they're supposed to be and the Cheese biscuit was nicely toasted, lightly crisp but still soft and chewy.. our server Felix was very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Very nice guy. The venue is very homey and warm. Seriously. It actually has a nice fireplace in the dining area. It's not noisy at all. Felt like I was in someone's house. Overall it was a great experience. Food was great, atmosphere was mellow and service was A+ If you're looking for a good breakfast or brunch you should definitely check this place out. Have a great one y'all!

Yelp
We went back several times, tried almost all their dishes, still amazing! You MUST have the apple Pie if you enjoy perfection, I love soft apple filling and this is the best!

Roger M.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience. Waiter was great, food was amazing. Both of us had the chicken pot pie, and had the amazing apple pie for desert. The ambiance was "warm and inviting" would definitely love to return!

Yelp
This is a cute, quant place. The vibe is a blend of upscale, remarkable, and local. I love that there are two different places where you can sit outside. The UWS needs to keep places like this together. They are also kind. I came in before dinner service and could still be seated and have a fantastic drink. I've had the potpie before and will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Loved this place for brunch! We walked in and were immediately struck by how cute the place is inside. It's very cozy and welcoming. The brunch menu is full of the usual suspects along with some unique additions. The beau and I ordered the Boomers special and the grain bowl. These were the perfect combo for our tastes/moods. The grain bowl was warm and full of delicious veggies. The addition of feta paired perfectly. The breakfast items were pretty standard, good eggs, good blueberry pancakes, crispy bacon, and seasoned potatoes. We devoured it all along with our yummy cocktails. A great addition to the neighborhood and we are looking forward to coming back for dinner. Chicken pot pie!

Yelp
It feels like an old world rustic tavern when you walk in, and they nail the "farmer" ambiance. Rustic, but refined. Really well done. The service is phenomenal and knowledgable, and the food was really good too. No complaints about anything, and everything had great flavor. I really loved the mashed potatoes and the skillet cookie :)
google avatar

Yelp
I like this spot for brunch in particular because it has options outside of the standard brunch fare. I had the vegan pot pie which was rich and hearty. It was surprisingly creamy for not having any dairy in it. The crust was perfectly flaky. The price was a bit high at about $30 after tax and tip, but that's pretty standard for most brunch spots. I enjoyed the garden-like decor on the inside.

Karen S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place!!! The pot pie reminds me of a home away from home!! The tuna sandwich is made with magic!!! The bread they make is just 1 of the main and delicious reasons to go! Def is you want comfort eat here!!

Yelp
Tried this place for Thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps servers were unhappy working a holiday shift or perhaps because everything is prepaid with gratuity included, service was subpar. They also try to squeeze in as many people as possible in the back room, so every time a server walked by my chair, they would hit it. When a customer walked by they would hardly touch the chair. Again, careless servers who really didn't seem to care about customer discomfort. Im sure other days are fine (from what I see from other reviews) but stay away during holiday occasions.

Clement K.

Yelp
The bar is a fantastic addition to the Upper West Side, featuring friendly bartenders and a wide selection of appetizers. The full-service restaurant located at the back offers a cozy ambiance. I highly recommend trying the shrimp, short ribs, burger, and apple pie for dessert

Gerry M.

Yelp
We arrived at the restaurant at 5:00 without reservations. We were promptly seated. The restaurant quickly filled up so I would recommend a reservation. The service was excellent. My wife had the chicken pot pie which was delicious. Lots of chicken and a light and flaky crust. I had the Chicken Alan (I think that was the name) and again, delicious. This restaurant is a small place but very cozy. In the warm weather you could eat on their patio. When we are in the area we will return.

Yelp
Incredible what FoF has done to the interior of the old Pasha that was there prior. No detail overlooked. Very comfy space and not a typical NYC restaurant where you are on top of one another. Our server Felix was tremendous. We were a party of 6 for brunch and he was incredibly patient and made great recommendations for all of us. Pumpkin pancakes were so fresh and yummy, fresh OJ was amazing and they do a butter and syrup combo which was simply brilliant and so so goooood. Already planning a trip back for dinner with another large party and can't wait.

Yelp
THE ATMOSPHERE Perfect for family, friends and coworkers. Big parties possibly up to 10 (check to confirm). Immediately when you walk in, it feels like you're taking a break from the busyness of the city. The atmosphere and environment is very homey, we loved it! THE SERVICE We were greeted right when we walked in and our server was amazing! He made us feel home, and was very patient with our questions! He also added some extra feta cheese to my to go plate because I asked :) THE FOOD Everyone loved their food. We got the grain bowl with salmon, the barn burger and the special. My food was deliciousness, although I wish the portion was a little bigger. It was fresh. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, very beautiful. The steak was cooked to order. And the burger was perfect. I would definitely try the pot pie if you do go.

Yelp
Been a fan of the Gramercy location for decades, so was excited to find that an outpost had opened closer to where I live. If you can score a seat in the skylight area of their dining space, that is quite awesome for brunch. The food was consistently good and the service was prompt despite the busy atmosphere. I look forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Wonkachick O.

Yelp
Tried the new UWS location for brunch. Ambience gorgeous like the original location. Food only ok, small portions and insanely overpriced. I got the Lox Toast and it only had a small amount of lox. Added eggs which were cold. Service lackluster and inattentive. Not sure I'll try again. Unfortunate as it's lovely inside.

Yelp
LOVED this restaurant. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The apple pancakes were sooooo good. I would definitely order again. The pot pie was amazing as well. We want to come back and try more items on the menu. Great ambiance as well. The service was great too. Our server Quinn B AMAZING!! Ty For great service.

Yelp
We got a chance to finally try this place out on a fall Sunday around noon. We had to wait about 20 minutes on the line outside for a party of 2 but the line moved fast. The boomer special was a lot of food and a great way to try different things on their menu. We also enjoyed the steak and eggs (although it could be argued the steak was not a ribeye as the menu claimed). We tried two cocktails, the purple haze and the rosemary bourbon cocktail, both were just ok, we would skip next time.

Yelp
Friend of a Famer opened on the UWS a few weeks ago, so I will take some of that into consideration. Came last Friday night with friends to celebrate their birthday. It is a beautiful space and you can tell a lot of thought and love went into the design and decoration. If only the same could be said of the food. We started with a round of cocktails. While we waited for those we ordered appetizers. We started with the crostini which comes 3 to a plate. As a party of 5 we ordered 2 plates. When they arrived they didn't match in terms of what was actually on the plate and we were confused. We also ordered the meatballs which again are 3 to a plate so we ordered 2 plates. Both were pretty boring/bland. Eventually the cocktails arrived. They were weak and disappointing. While in the middle of appetizers, the entrees arrived so we had to shuffle things around to make room. Most of us felt disappointed with our dishes. Everything lacked flavor it seems except for the Chicken Pot Pie. I personally had the Terry Alan Chicken which the waiter suggested - stuffed with granny smith apples & cheddar cheese, homemade lemon bread, mashed potatoes, citrus honey raisin sauce. Sounds delicious but it was rather bland. Overall everything seemed off. Drinks taking a long time. Appetizers coming before drinks. Entrees while eating appetizers. Proper silverware while we're halfway through the meal. I asked the waiter about the mismatching crostini and he said they should have been the same. He explained they have only been open a few weeks and the kitchen is still getting into their groove. He did take one crostini plate off the bill. The waiter was very nice but seemed distracted, perhaps he had too many tables. We decided against getting another round of drinks based on the first round and we passed on dessert as who knew when it would come out and if we'd even enjoy it. At the end the manager came over to ask how things were. At that point we just wanted out so we said fine. At these prices, we were expecting much better. Perhaps the Union Square location is the one to visit.

Yelp
Recently, my family and I had the opportunity to go out to dinner together - to joyfully celebrate our niece's graduation from Law School. We were all in a celebratory mood! So, we went somewhere special - more special than usual - to honor this awesome milestone! And we found just the right place, in Friend of a Farmer. This UWS piece of heaven is rustic and cozy, while also being elegant and upscale. It had a surprisingly expansive feel inside, especially for Manhattan, and we all felt right at home. We were fortunate to be served by two lovely, attentive and hospitable women named Christina and Charlotte. Their gentle and kind energy was tangible. And then we were also graciously welcomed by Michael, the manager. They were all instrumental in co-creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, in which we could enjoy ourselves and honor this festive occasion. As far as the food goes, first we enjoyed the following appetizers: Grilled Cauliflower for Two and the Avocado Tartar. Both appetizers were outstanding, with the cauliflower one particularly standing out as unique, in my humble opinion. Our main courses were: the Terry Alan Chicken, the Chicken Pot Pie, the Scottish Salmon and the Snapper Fish Special. All were excellent; and I can tell you (as someone who very much enjoyed the Terry Alan Chicken dish), that it was actually two meals in one. I mean, I'm a somewhat petite woman, but I seriously had as much as I comfortably could at dinner, and there was still a meal leftover for me the next day. Yay! My family members didn't leave disappointed, either; everyone seemed to really dig their food. For dessert, we sipped on green tea and dug into Italian Vanilla Ice Cream Affogato, which is, essentially, decadent ice cream with hot espresso poured over it. Yes, it was as wonderful as it sounds, though it did get my heart rate going a bit! Ha! All in all, it was a fabulous dining experience, and we hope to return again. Love and Thanks, Kat (and Family)

Yelp
This was our first visit and not our last. The food was delicious, including the charred eggplant appetizer, salmon entree, branzino entree (special) and vegetable pot pie. The servers were very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Loved the food, the atmosphere, the cool bar and the reasonable prices. Very cozy and various nice rooms in the restaurant. Chicken dishes are great as well as the fish. Everything is super fresh farm to table. Wait staff and management great as well.

Yelp
Loved it. The place has a great vibe with fireplace and comfortable decor. The lighting is soft but still bright enough for mature folks to read the menu. Waitstaff friendly and service efficient. the food was solid and presented nicely

Yelp
Interior of the restaurant is very nice and cozy - 5 stars on that front but overall experience was disappointing. Service was slow and not very friendly. I ordered Key to the Park cocktail which was pretty good but my husband's Rancher's rum was terrible - it tasted only of alcohol and when our waiter finally came back to the table, he returned it and got a coke. We were brought a complimentary piece of cornbread with some apple on top. My husband described it as mushy and cloying. I decided I didn't need to try it. I order shepherd's pie and my husband had the chicken pot pie. Both were lacking in seasoning and flavor. My husband tried the chocolate cake with was a small square of warmed cake with some whipped cream on the side and raspberry smear. He said it was fine. I wish the food had been better because the space is so nice but I am afraid that we won't be returning.

Yelp
Lovely romantic, elegant, rustic atmosphere. Cozy bar & lounge with charming Danny, the bartender. He was a great guy and made our evening that much more enjoyable. Just had the salmon dish that was delectable. A definite re-visit.

Yelp
I was in the area one weekday for a doctor's appointment so I looked on Yelp for a place I could have a late lunch. I liked the name of this place (conjured up fresh, hearty farm-to-table fare in my mind) and saw it was known for its chicken pot pie, which was a dish I'd not had in a long time & had actually been craving. When I walked in I was charmed by the lovely ambiance. I didn't feel like having alcohol so I ordered an apple cider, thinking that it would be a large hot mug full of spiced apple cider with a cinnamon stick etc, but alas it was a tiny glass of cold apple cider that I could just buy in a supermarket. It was quickly finished, so then I ordered an Arnold Palmer, which was ok & larger. For food I of course ordered the chicken pot pie and it came out steaming hot. Nice presentation & I loved the crust. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the filling. There was lots of gravy but it was a very rosemary-heavy brown gravy. I like rosemary but that just was the sole overpowering flavor. The chicken pieces also seemed dry rather than juicy. I really wanted to like it! Large & filling but I struggled to finish. Given the prices & beautiful setting I was expecting better. The place is on the small side, but so cozy & pretty. Service was attentive enough, polite if not warm. But going by the food, I don't know that I would go back.

Yelp
The mini martinis are adorable. The ambiance is good. The service left a lot wanting.... we were left for 20 minutes (not exaggerating) after being seated without even water on the table. No dinner menu either. No server came until I asked a food runner behind us for one. When they finally came, we asked for a food menu. They took their time bringing it. It took another 15 minutes for our martinis. I had to ask the food runner to send the server again so we could order food.... It was really terrible. This was at 4pm when they opened and there were only 1-2 other tables. We left 10% because we were shocked at how terrible the service was (but didn't want the server to lose money tipping out bartender/runners.) I would not return. (Pot pie was okay- great crust. )

Yelp
Had dinner here before a show at The Beacon theater. It is a cozy environment. My husband and I started with the cauliflower which came out sizzling and was a good way to start off. The special was the red snapper which was delicious and we ended with the warm chocolate chip cookie. Service was excellent and friendly. Was a perfect dinner before the show which was a short walk to the Beacon.

Yelp
Came here in a whim with the hubs one fine Sunday morning . It opens at 9am and we arrived at around 9:30 thinking we may not be able to get a table. Luckily there were only 1 or 2 tables taken so we had no problem getting a seat. The place is very small. A bar area with about 7 seats, a medium "green house" looking room in the front, a small side room fitting about 10 people, and a larger but still relatively small backroom that could fit around 30 to 40 people when full. This room cannot really be used for a party since there is a large fireplace right in the middle. Food: Cornbread: you get a cornbread with a honey butter type jam on top. This came on a cast iron so I was excited for it to me nice and warm but it came slightly cooler than room temp which was a little disappointing. 2/5 Chessar biscuit: this is a biscuit cut in half and toasted with butter. It wasn't very cheddar-y and wasn't very warm either. Wish their bread was warmer as I think it would have made this super delicious as opposed to just a cheap side. 2/5 Chicken pot pie: this is what they were known for and they did not disappoint. This thankfully was very hot with crispy outsides. There was chicken, peas, and other goodness inside. The inside of the pie was thick and easy to eat. We split this and ended up taking home some of it. (4.5/5) Boomer breakfast: this comes with pancakes, eggs, bacon. We opted for plain pancakes . Now i love pancakes and I thought these were among the best pancakes I've had in a while. Further, the eggs were fluffy and delicious. This also came room temperature but the taste was so good that it didn't bother me so much. (4.5/5) Extras: Service was good, nothing spectacular but no mishaps either. I'd have liked it if upon seating they asked preference for water as opposed to waiting for the waiter to come over but again, small things. Bathroom: I think a bathroom says a lot about what the kitchen may look like and this bathroom was among the cleanest I've ever seen. Granted I visited the restroom about 1 hour after opening so it should be fairly clean. Would love to come back here to try other items they have or if dinner menu is any different.

Yelp
I've been there four times now. First three times were very pleasant. But the fourth time, we had a waitress who didn't care about us at all. She never came to check on us. We wanted to order something additional, but since she never came to see how we were, we ended up not ordering. The funny thing is... even though she never came to check on us, after she gave us the check / bill, she came to check three (3) times with in less than five minutes. I give 3 stars because the other experiences were nice. I hope we won't get her next time...

Yelp
This place is amazing. The food was extremely filling and flavorful. The staff was really down to earth and knowledgeable of the menu selections. Shout to Christina! The atmosphere is a perfect escape from the city and great place for brunch! You feel as if you were dropped in a countryside estate. The Rose Club was exceptional!

Yelp
The cozy ambience is perfect for a cold winter day. The food is homey and comforting. There are always lines for brunch so the crowds are also in favor of this popular eatery. The neighborhood is great and the location is perfect, not too far from Union Square and the train lines.
