"The Fulton Street Farmers Market is the oldest and largest in Grand Rapids. Newly updated and remodeled in the past couple of years, many of the vendors have been with the Market for generations, and even when the market isn't open, you can see the history by way of the dedication/donation bricks making up the main entrance. Open the first Saturday of May through the last Saturday before Christmas, during the late spring, summer, and fall, you can find some of Michigan’s best produce. Make sure you arrive early for the best selection - if the parking lot is full (which happens lots in the summer), grab a spot on Fountain, the street directly on the north-side of the market." - CreativeMornings Grand Rapids

Lovely experience! Local artists selling their wares, delicious trucks, and little coffee spots. This made for a nice Sunday post-brunch stroll whilst sipping some yummy hot apple cider. Will be back!

Google
Lots of fun and tons of wonderful artists. So much to look at. I suggest getting there early to get a parking spot close to the market. I definitely plan on going back again as it was a nice way to spend a few hours on a Sunday!

Experienced this warm welcoming local market with a diverse selection of fresh, grown vegetables and homemade beverages. Supporting quality-driven businesses in this beautiful community!

Google
It's been a great market for a long time. The prices can be a little high, but there are some quality products & produce to be found. It's great energy with all the people. No dogs allowed in the actual market, but dog lovers gather nearby to wait & visit while others do the shopping. Usually there are a few food trucks as well. We had Semifreddo today & it was delicious!

Google
You never leave empty handed. They have fantastic vendors with everything from endless vegetable options to flowers to fresh baked bread. Best market in GR!

Google
A great place to visit for good produce and to support the locals. There is a main strip for vendors to display colorful items, such as vegetables, flowers and bakery items. One thing that can be improved is the parking situation. The parking lot is a long narrow stretch with the vendors parking on the left, leaving only the right on this one way strip for customers.

Google
A great variety of fruits and vegetables amazing plants love seeing the cat! Great jams, an great price, cost less then buying organic at a store and not knowing if it's really organic or not.

Busy, and lots of vendors by 7:30. Nice to see so many friendly faces returning again. Very wide selections to choose from, on a variety of things. Seems to actually be getting better every year. Was a time i wasn't sure which direction it would be going. For those wanting to go, pets are no longer allowed, for health and safety reasons. With the sun coming up bright, and temperatures in high 50's. Gonna be a good day for customers, and vendors a like. So I'd say to attend here is a win, win. For convenience there is even a LMCU Atm that dispenses $10. So vendors opening can make change easily for you. Flowers for sale this day, but i got veggies 🙂

Gretchen D.

Yelp
Love this market. Wish I got there more often. Year-round with a good structure. Parking right along side the market vendors, at least on a not-too-busy day. You can often find food trucks. In the winter it's more craft vendors and such. If Ice Cream Jeannie is there, get some and thank me later :) Baked goods are usually available.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Such a fun way to explore all the area has to offer. Multiple vendors bringing farm fresh produce, meat, honey, baked goods, coffee etc. gorgeous flowers priced very fairly. Wish it was set up a bit more already out be jade the crowd was large and at times it was difficult to maneuver through. Would still recommend exploring lots of good finds here.

Yelp
My happiest Saturdays and summer mornings always start at the Fulton Street Farmer's Market. Nothing beats the sun shining down and picking up your groceries directly from their source! I love starting out with some coffee from Madcap, and strolling down to the market right after. The market hosts incredible farmers from the West Michigan area, so you'll be able to stock up on all the essentials from fresh produce to eggs/meat. All this shopping definitely makes you hungry, so I would also make sure you check out the food vendors at the beginning at end of the line of store fronts. I love the taco trucks at the end, and I've also had a mouth-watering chili dog here too! The magic of the farmers market continues on throughout the year as well during their off-season hours!!

Mirna I.

Yelp
Came here on a random Wednesday in July around half hour before closing. Wasn't crowded at all, found parking easily, still lots of great produce available. Bought some adorable jewelry, fruits and flowers and chatted with some sweet vendors.

Kerry F.

Yelp
We're fortunate to have an all seasons farmers market. nearly every Saturday you can head to the Fulton Street location and pick up seasonal produce as well as farm, fresh meats and dairy products. They also have an abundant of local artisans who set up selling their wares. The winter season is slower with shorter hours, but still offers a decent array of vendors. They also host specialty markets and events throughout the year. Parking is limited get there early for the best spots and selection, especially visiting in the summer and fall (their busiest seasons)

Sarah G.

Yelp
Today my friends and I went to the Merchants and Makers Holiday Market. It was slammed with people and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the creativity of the artists. If you are looking for a gift for someone (or for yourself) that you can't find elsewhere this is a good place to do it.

Brigitte N.

Yelp
There are so many specialty shops at the Fulton street market. We were looking for halibut for a special meal and I only found it there. Also, we were looking for Guanciale and no other butcher shop seemed to have it other than at the Fulton street market! Well worth shopping there!

Amanda L.

Yelp
Love this farmers market, even if I was only here for an artisan market! I can only imagine how wonderful and POPPING it is when it's a farmers market. They have built in farm stands for each vendor, which is more professional than anything I've ever seen in any farmers market before! The entire structure is covered by a high ceiling with the sides exposed to the elements. It's one long path down with stands on either side for you to peruse as you make your way down. Parking is all along the sides as well, but can easily get booked up if you're coming at a busy time! There is a structure at the beginning and end of this long stretch with bathrooms to be utilized. On the artisan market day I came here, there were food trucks stationed at one of these ends as well - delicious! All in all, a wonderful space, very accessible, and not dog-friendly, service animals only please!

Rebekah A.

Yelp
This Farmers Market has it all. I love a street fair or farmers market that has unique finds and this one checks those boxes. Antiques? Find them here? Homemade seasonal gifts? Got those too! Unique baked goods and snacks? Yep. How about produce? Of course, it's a farmers market. Everything about the placement of goods, how and what they're displayed in, and the layout of vendors was so well thought through. Truly a great experience and worth the stop of the market is in full force!

Kimy P.

Yelp
So this season I have been throughly enjoying stopping by the farmers market on a weekly basis. When looking for a floral bouquet for my grandmother- There was this vendor that was so kind and passionate about her work. When I told her it was for my grandmother, she gave me a sunflower :D that made my day! There's so many local seasonal goods. The fruit and vegetables are delicious and great to share with your loved ones. In my recent visit, I came across this lady that sells GF snacks. She gives you a sample which was what convinced me to purchase. I would definitely buy again from her. Also, loved Stoke Design Co.'s sticker designs. She has a large variety of stickers with some Hawaiian vibes that I love. Can't forget all the local handmade soaps, they're amazing. Overall, all I can say is good things as it's always a good day when I stop by here :)

Sarah S.

Yelp
This farmer's market is wonderful! We came on a Saturday, and despite it being packed to brim with people, it was easy to find parking. We enjoyed the walk and seeing all of the vendors. There was a wonderful assortment of snacks, produce, artisan goods and treats to eat on the way. We loved the taco truck Los Jalapeños (HIGHLY recommend) and enjoyed all of the snacks and samples along the way. We took a picture of the goods we got from the market (which are now all gone). We can't wait to come back!

Deborah J.

Yelp
Wonderful produce and art for sale at the market. I always enjoy going to the market. Great foods Including produce, baked goods and more. Art for sale as well.

Marlene Y.

Yelp
One of best Farmers Markets ever. Fall is a great time to go. We walked all the way up the Medical Mile to get there. Excellent ambiance! Wonderful and inexpensive fruit, veggies, crafts, kombucha, honey and baked goods. Meat pies were so good. Wish we had facilities for cooking with all the varieties of mushrooms available! This is a must for visitors and locals alike! Midtown Grand Rapids is alive and kicking.

Austin G.

Yelp
Fulton Street Farmers Market embodies the community vibe you find when visiting Grand Rapids. Celebrating 100 years in 2022, local farmers and makers gather in a long open air market off of Fulton Street Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays May through October. (It turns into a Saturday only market November through April showcasing Michiganders aren't scared of their own winters.) I strolled through the market on a July Wednesday morning and saw families, urbanites and others browsing the vendors. Many of the visitors seemed to know the vendors showing repeat customers. On sale were produce of every kind, breads and other goods. When in Grand Rapids, visit the Fulton Street Farmers Market.

Janet D.

Yelp
Very nice farmers market. Has all you could need. From seasonal produce &fruits plus bread & honey. There's fresh meat, beef& chicken & eggs at couple stalls. Some crafty times too. A few unusual items like many mushrooms or varieties of lettuce greens/reds.

Amy N.

Yelp
Everyone from the vendors to the shoppers are always filled with joy and positivity. This market is what the new gen kids would say is "a vibe". There's ranges of fresh produce, fresh cheese, meats, plants, pastries, and cookies. You can even get hot prepared burritos if you needed a breakfast because you were there super early to get a fresh start! Other vendors include local jewelry creators, handcrafted soaps, stickers, mittens, knitted scarves, and much much more!

Brooke L.

Yelp
This place is great and there are so many vendors. Perfect for folks who want to look around and perfect for folks who love Farmers Markets. I really think it is cool that Fulton Street Farmers Market has been around for so long. I had to check it out for the first time. I stopped at a couple places to get some homemade jam and craft items. I love that it is much more than just food now. You can purchase tokens at the front and pay them instead of using the ATM but there is an ATM as well. Most vendors take card now so that is cool for me who barely carries cash now. I was surprised to see how busy it was when I went because of how cold it was but I can see why! Highly recommend it because there is something for everyone. Lots of produce, fresh fruits and veggies. Cookies, pies, cakes, meats and cheeses. Jams, artisan tables with crafts and homemade items. TIP: get there early to avoid the rush and to find parking.

Katy C.

Yelp
The Fulton Street Farmers Market is open year-round, with different vendors and events during each season, making it a fun place to check out all throughout the year. I like going early on summer Saturday mornings to beat the crowds or on Wednesday mornings in the summer as it's less busy. There are fewer vendors at the market on Wednesdays but you can still find plenty of produce, flowers, and a few handcrafted items. There is free parking in the lot surrounding the market but spaces fill up quickly. Street parking is available nearby but it can be tricky to find a spot. According to their website, FSFM offers Saturday overflow parking in a lot NE of Fulton and Fuller, but I've never checked that out. There is a bus stop right outside the market as well. I follow FSFM on Facebook to stay up to date with all the special events happening at the market, including yoga, live music, food trucks, and the artisan market. Most vendors do accept credit cards but it never hurts to bring some cash. There is an ATM onsite if you need it.

Bertha O.

Yelp
This was a wonderful framer's market they had a little bit of everything for everyone. All the fruit stands were amazing, there were a couple of cheese stands with good things.

Melissa B.

Yelp
I love this farmers market! So many cool and interesting vendors to check out and I always leave happy with my purchases. It's a long and spacious area and I haven't felt crowded here before. I think it's awesome that they have the market open year round (on Saturdays). It's fun to see the differences in products between the winter and summer seasons. Some of the highlights for me from the farmers market are The Great Bread Company (I always get at least 2 things here), the microgreens from Green Wagon Farm, an apple cider frozen slush that was at the market last fall, and Grampa's pastys (hot available to eat as well as frozen to take home)! I also love seeing the flowers for sale during the summer or the wreaths around Christmas. They also had/have great covid protocols!

Lauren A.

Yelp
Fulton Street Farmers Market offers so much from a sweet treat to fresh produce and more. It is my favorite Saturday morning activity and I've found it's a great way to not only support your local community but also shop for your fresh produce for the week. With the Fulton Street Market being open year round (Main Season: May - October, Second Season: November - April) you can always find a variety of goods such as flowers, fresh produce, seasonal decor and more! One of my favorite times of year to visit is in the fall where you can enjoy hot apple cider while strolling though the market perusing the fall harvest goodies. This year we decorated our porch with local pumpkins from the market. Only downfall is parking - can often be busy and take some time to find a spot. If you are local consider walking or taking a bike ride with the family. Good fun for all ages!

Jordan M.

Yelp
A lot of vendors - food, crafts, locals, etc. Very fun to browse alone or with friends!

Iheartgrandrapids I.

Yelp
Fulton Street Farmers Market ⁣ We love that they are open YEAR ROUND, so make sure to check them out during the colder months this year! ⁣ ⁣ I came home with an all-natural coconut flavored lip balm today! ⁣

Yelp
Been there back in the 1960's when my Dad had our stall. My Uncle Don had his stall and my Uncle Sam had his Stall. They were all produce sales but they had different kind's of produce. So many memories from back then. Well we came back to the area and WHAT A SURPRISE. It's covered nice stalls more buildings. Great Job Done.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Great market. Stopped in on a Saturday. Lots of vegetables and herb stands. Bought some amazing bread and cheeses from local producers. Also highly recommend the pickled vegetable stand. Very fresh. Also ate ate Cairo's kitchen. Had a very tasty chicken and Beef shawarma wrap.

Tiana T.

Yelp
This is a well put together situation. The booths are clearly marked and the area is covered for those drizzly days. While the vendors rotate, you will never be short on options. If you forget cash, they have an ATM at the south end of the drag. They also have a winter market before the main one opens for the season.

Debralee M.

Yelp
I was curious how this market has stayed in business so long... 87 years! Being from out of town I couldn't wait to see all the things advertised. I was a little surprised that on the grand opening of the night market the stalls were half empty. I can imagine when it's full it's absolutely amazing. Live music was playing and they were great. A wide variety of things for sale. Overall it's a lovely thing to do on a Tuesday and I can't wait to try it next time I'm in Grand Rapids.

Jazz M.

Yelp
I will say I really like this farmers market! I visited last Thursday and scored a delicious kombucha drink that was ginger flavored. It can be a bit pricey(like any other farmers market) but the point when you go to a farmers market is you're supporting a local business and investing in their time and energy to make the world a better place. :) lol But seriously! You get a live band playing in the background, smiling faces willing to answer any questions and explain their food/ products that we're grown the healthy way! All in all I really like it here and would definitely come again!

Sandi B.

Yelp
Is it a place or an event? I don't know, I just know it's a good thing! Dress for the weather, bring a bag, some cash, your coffee/tea, and plan to take some time. The seasonal produce is amazing, the local meats & cheese & crafts are icing on the cake (oh, they have baked goods too!). Take in the Fulton St Farmers Market as an antidote to the big box stores. It's proof that our local community supports, enjoys and benefits from our local farmers, crafters & small businesses. When this community market pops up in the summer and fall, it gives us all the opportunity get outside, browse and buy local. You don't know what they'll have, or what the weather will be like, or where you'll park, you'll have to carry what you buy, and on Saturdays it's crowded...but the extra effort is worth it!

Kyle V.

Yelp
Fantastic market with plenty of free parking. Great selections of local products as well as food trucks on occasion. They even have an ATM in the little building to make sure you can take home the stuff you like! The whole market is covered so you can stay out of the sun or weather. I definitely recommend swinging by to check it out!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Drop by the market for fresh fruits, veggies, flowers and food trucks in the summer! I've gotten such delicious treats from vendors and the prices are actually affordable!

Drue G.

Yelp
Love this place. Best one we have ever been to. Come back every time we are near it. Amazing from start to end. 100 yds long and packed with vendors.

Megan S.

Yelp
I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Now that I am an adult (most of the time) I carry on the tradition of going down and picking up some of the LARGEST and most delicious produce and food items around. I am all about supporting local and I am so pleased with their new renovation. My only complaint is that when it is crazy busy (especially Saturday mornings, yikes!) there is a terrible bottle neck as you descend down to the lower stalls. The walkway literally loses half of its area. Design flaw. I know some people complain about the parking but honestly if you pull down either side of the market parking lot, someone is always getting into their car and leaving otherwise there are usually spots at the end. I live close enough to walk down to the market. My bags are so laden down with food stuffs that I look like a pack mule when I am done.

Phil K.

Yelp
Great experience! Wonderful fresh market food! Nice people at each booth and reasonable prices! Definitely will return

Julia N.

Yelp
This is a favorite spot on Saturday mornings for me and my family in the summer. Love the variety and locally grown food.

John B.

Yelp
Another Grand Rapids gem! Plan on going early and take your time. Vendors offer locally grown produce as available and other fresh items. Breads, flowers and craft items are also sold. Pets are not welcome and anyone that has an bit of courtesy will leave the strollers at home as moving from booth to booth can be a challenge. (you know who you are!) Hours of Operation 8:00am - 4:00pmTuesdays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays, May to Dec. Another venture, The Artisans Market is an event that is held every Sunday, May through September, from 11am to 3pm.

Kelsey May F.

Yelp
I love the Fulton Street Farmers Market. My fiancé and I try to shop here regularly because there are so many fantastic Michigan growers and suppliers to support for damn good prices. We've frequented about twice a month for over a year now and found that what you save on produce purchases, you can put toward dairy and meat products. Vegetables and fruits are just so freaking cheap, especially when they're in season. Most prices are better even than Meijer. 3 for $2 zucchini. $4 for six delicious apples. $4 for a gallon of apple cider in autumn. $1 for a basil plant. The list goes on and on. Urban Mushroom ("The Mushroom Lady") is by far my favorite vendor. Her mushrooms are amazing, and she is great at suggesting new recipes. Plus she's given me so many bonus mushrooms to try and enjoy. There are several different dairy, meat, and egg suppliers here, and we've had great experiences with all of them, particularly Hudsonville and Dancing Goat Creamery. There was also a great fish stall last summer, though I haven't seen them in months. Pro tip: look for vendors that have the "Fulton St. Certified" sign hanging in their stall. These vendors have been checked and verified to grow all the produce or other items that they sell. A stall without one of these signs might, for example, (and this did actually happen to me several years ago) sell food they purchased from a grocery store. If you visit on a Saturday, especially before noon, chances are you'll have to park somewhere in the neighborhood. This might affect how much you're willing to buy and carry, so plan accordingly. You also should bring cloth bags if you can and a freezer or cold bag if you plan to buy refrigerated or frozen items. The market just started using a token process for card or EBT purchases, and you can stop into the main building to pick up your tokens. Lastly, if you have a food card, DEFINITELY make Fulton Street part of your normal shopping! The double up program saved my fiancé and I when we were at the end of our monthly budget. We haven't had food stamps since February, but we still have leftover produce loyalty! It's such a rewarding way to do business.

Michael M.

Yelp
What a great market. Top notch produce and incredible baked goods.

Meghan J.

Yelp
Fulton Street Farmers Market is a dreamy bite of the farm in the city. Fresh fruits, vegetable, flowers, fresh meats and cheeses, even fair trade organic coffee. I have never had something that was poor quality. It's all made with love.

Lisa A.

Yelp
Sunflowers and blueberries and corn and tomatoes and fresh herbs, oh my! Love the selection of heirloom veggies and flowers. Simply put, hands down, the best place for all your produce (and more!) needs.

Lindsay O.

Yelp
What's there not to love?!? Outdoors, fresh local and fun. Slim pickings on a Wednesday early season. I found everything I wanted though. Plants, asparagus and mushrooms. Parking is great though super easy to find a spot. And a bonus Two Scott's Bbq has a food truck. I LOVE smoked meats!

Jim R.

Yelp
Used to live in Madison, WI and that is maybe the best farm market I have ever witnessed. We are very glad to have found this one since moving here: small-ish but very good. As you would expect, great variety of produce from local growers, some organic. Great flowers, honey, etc. Up at the market's small building on Fulton St, they sell meats and eggs, and will take a credit card and give you market money to spend at the vendor booths. Very good idea. Parking tip: enter the parking lot one block west of Fulton St, it is far easier to navigate and way faster.

Brea H.

Yelp
Wow! This farmers market is legit. The location is a permanent structure - a long covered bridge. That means there's 100% shade, no traffic, and tons of vendors! Parking in the area can get a little hectic, but once you're in, it's really great.

Lola A.

Yelp
An update to my review about the Fulton Street Farmer's Market regarding the 'herb water guy' that sold herbs that made your water taste fabulous. Well, they contacted me on Yelp a little bit ago & gave me the name of their local Farm. It is Growing Green Family Farms. Yes, they are still at the market! The last time we bumped into them, my hubby discovered them in the building portion near the front of the market. If you like water that tastes great, check them out on their website. As always, the Market continues to delight and educate. I always learn something from the local farmers when I go.

Justin B.

Yelp
Overall I love this place. It's built well, in an easy area to get to by bus (route 14) or walking. Lots of vendors with good food and good prices. They do the double up thing with food stamps which is nice. They start there season earlier than the Downtown market which is great Yesterday was a little cooler out though and when I went there were only two vendors. Important to know, the following things affect how many vendors will be there: Weather - better weather more vendors Day - Tuesday and Wednesday have less well Friday and Saturday have the most Time in season - early on the season (before school gets out I was told) they have less vendors and options. So if you're like me, don't go on a cold rainy Tuesday in the early part of the season. You will be disappointed.

Marie W.

Yelp
There's a reason that everyone gives the Fulton Street Farmers Market five stars -- the produce is excellent, the people are friendly, there is generally a food truck there and best of all...it's LOCAL.

Jay S.

Yelp
The Fulton Street Farmers Market may well be the center of the Grand Rapids universe. All things Grand Rapids start here. The new remodel is perfect and with the plans for the next few years, we have a market that will be there all year around. You have to go early, but make sure you go. They are even open late on Wednesdays now! The only drawback to the market is parking. Get there early or you will need to find somewhere else to park that is within walking distance.

Shayne D.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I actually had my camera out and took about fifty pictures of the beautiful fruit and vegetables that were on sale here. For the first time in years I wish I lived in GR so that I could go to this market every week. What a wonderful place. Just walking through it made me feel healthy and inspired me to eat better. I highly recommend this awesome market!!!

Holly H.

Yelp
I moved from Grand Rapids in Fall of 2012. The market has made some nice changes I'm glad that I found time to go and make some purchases.
