"If you want to say sorry for getting drunk and dominating the conversation by talking about Alex Trebek’s successor, you could write an apology card. Or you could show up at your friend’s door with a box of glazed cakes. On Saturday, July 10th, Brooklyn-based pastry chef Joy Cho will be selling boxes of mini sour cream-bundt cakes called gem cakes at Gentle Perch in East Williamsburg from 2-5pm. You can choose between a whole variety of glazes for the cakes, including misgaru, passionfruit, matcha, yuja, black sesame, and strawberry milk, and pick up things like cookies and sweet rice flour fudge brownies while you’re at it. Check out Joy Cho’s gem cakes and past offerings on her website. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

"The style is Korean but with a playful edge. Think fried rice cakes submerged in a cheesy kimchi sauce or smoky bacon-studded fried rice. It’s all meant for sharing, unless you’re here just for a bowl of ramyun." - The MICHELIN Guide

Found this place on Instagram and make a trip there in Saturday evening. It wasn’t busy by the time I get there and I like the interior decoration which is pretty cool. If you like taking photos, this place has pretty nice spots and corner for you. I order soju from their happy hour, I think it 2for15 or buy 1get1 not quite sure 🙈 The food was amazing, We enjoy them very much. The service is lovely.

Came here with a bunch of friends. Vibe is cool. Menu is small. Games available. Good atmosphere but the food was just pretty good. Missing the edge to get 5 stars. Final verdict is I would go back and maybe they’ll change my mind for a future review.

Take out review: Good Korean option in Greenpoint, so glad this place fills the void of solid Korean spots in the area. Wanted to eat indoors but decided to order to-go when I realized that only 1 employee seemed to be working both indoor and outdoor tables PLUS the take out counter, then I figured after walking 20 minutes here there was no turning back. Korean fried chicken sandwich was good but very heavy even with coleslaw to lighten it up. Very tasty but probably should have saved half for later. Brioche bun was fresh but very large and dense, plus the sweet glaze/honey-like sauce took it over the top for me. Black sesame shake was not worth $9, definitely save your money for a makgeolli or cocktail instead. Seems the cocktails here are decent, worth dining indoors for hopefully at a busier time when more staff are present.

Great service, lovely outdoor seating. Appetizers are good, however don't settle for the customer favorites on the menu. The Kansho Poppers were alright (I ordered the shrimp). The real winner were the corn ribs. Inspired me to give a go at creating them during the next backyard bbq I host. I will say that the dipping sauce they provided for the corn ribs was nothing to write home about. Maybe commit to the flavors profile add a little bit more of a zang? Or add a good bit of spice to give the mayo base something to counteract? Either would be a nice addition to the otherwise fantastic opener. I ordered the KBBQ spare ribs with the intent of munching on them at home after I had digested a bit more of the two appraisers. I haven't had a taste as of yet, but good golly one wiff of the to-go bag had my stomach yearning for more food to be shoveled in ASAP.

I really enjoyed the indoor atmosphere. Cozy, and bright. The staff were friendly and efficient. My fried chicken sandwich was a little plain and dry, however, my mom really enjoyed the kimchi fried rice.

We were excited to eat at this Michelin-rated Bib Gourmand restaurant. Sadly, we didn’t think the food we had deserved the rating. The Jja Jang noodles didn’t have much taste and the Summer Salad Bibim bowl was just slightly better. Oh, also the bingsoo was served up in a cup! Did Michelin try only a couple of dishes before giving the rating? Tsk. Tsk.

Wow what a GEM in BK! An amazing interpretation of Korean cuisine. While retaining traditional aspects. Everything from the food, drinks, and service was amazing. I loved the decor too, i think it really suits BK. Can't wait to go back!

I had their kimchi stew and truthfully I wasn't expecting much because I've had a lot of Korean stews. However this restaurant put their own twist to this stew that gave an explosion of flavor. I definitely recommend coming here for a too notch Korean stew. The side dish was a potato pancake, also very delicious!
