I finally made it to Ghee in Miami and ordered a little bit of everything so I could really get the full experience. I’m glad I did.
Papaya Salad (6/10)
This one wasn’t my favorite, but that’s mostly on me. I was expecting something closer to a Thai-style papaya salad, so the taste and texture weren’t what I had in mind. It was still refreshing and well prepared, just not exactly what I was looking for.
Potato Samosas (9/10)
These were so good. Perfectly crisp, clearly handmade, and very well seasoned. Honestly, almost too seasoned, which is hard for me to say because I love bold flavor. There were a couple bites where I thought it could be dialed back slightly. I wasn’t crazy about the cilantro dipping sauce paired with how seasoned they already were, but the sweet chutney balanced everything beautifully. That combo really worked.
Lamb Kerala (Day 1: 7.5–8/10 | Day 2: 12/10)
My server suggested the lamb neck instead, but I went with the karala. On day one, the lamb itself was good, but the sauce felt like it was missing just a little something. I asked for more heat and was brought a small bottle of what I was told was Iranian hot sauce. It was very hot, but it elevated the dish immediately.
I took most of it home and tried it again the next day. Completely different experience. The flavors had soaked into the meat and rice, and the spice level was perfect. Not a full 180, but close. I almost licked the plate. Leftover lamb kerala is elite.
Brie & Truffle Naan (10/10)
I ordered this because it was newer and highly recommended. I love brie and truffle, so it was an easy yes. It’s rich, very rich, so I could only manage a few bites. But paired with the fruit chutney, it was chef’s kiss. Sweet, savory, earthy. Really well done.
Service was excellent. I believe my server’s name started with a J….maybe Jordan or Justin. He was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful with recommendations.
The ambiance, music, and presentation were all on point. This is some of the better Indian food I’ve had in a long time, and I’ll definitely be back to try more.
Highly recommend. Especially if you’re willing to take leftovers home — apparently that’s where the magic happens.
