Fantastic gluten-free bakery with delicious sweet treats!
My wife can't tolerate gluten, but I can eat anything at all, so I can give you both perspectives when it comes to Gluten Free Goose.
For those who are celiac or otherwise can't tolerate gluten, Gluten Free Goose is an absolutely amazing five-star experience. Everything they make is gluten-free, and they also have some vegan options. And what makes it even better is that their baked goods are excellent.
For those like me who can pretty much eat anything, Gluten Free Goose is still a great bakery, which I would probably give four stars to when being compared to conventional bakeries that don't offer gluten-free options.
The staff, by the way, was super friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all our questions about their baked goods, and were enthusiastic to share their wonderful products.
The highlight was absolutely their Cream Puffs. They were flaky and perfect and overflowing with sweet and delicious cream. Not only would you never know these were gluten-free, but they were among the best cream puffs we'd ever had.
The Cupcake, which resembles the famous Hostess CupCakes was also excellent. The cupcake portion was incredibly good, and again I would have never guessed it was gluten-free. The cream filling was also amazing. The cupcake is topped with a chocolate mouse which in turn is covered with the chocolate frosting with a white spiral of frosting. My wife felt that she would have preferred more cake and left out the mouse, but I felt that it turned a cupcake into more of a decadent dessert experience. They do, however, offer a variety of more "traditional" cupcakes in a variety of flavors.
The Cinnamon Roll was very good. Again I would have never guessed that it was gluten-free, and it was very good. Not the best cinnamon roll I've ever had, but I did very much enjoy it. I do recommend heating it up so the frosting gets extra melty and gooey on the cinnamon roll. They can do this at the shop if you will be eating there.
I also had a Raspberry Lemon Scone, which was also very good. Again, not the absolute best scone I've had, but I would never have guessed it was gluten-free.
Gluten Free Goose has clearly perfected gluten-free baking. Quite often when baked goods are modified to be gluten-free, they don't come out quite right. Sometimes because of the flour used as a substitution the texture will get a little gritty. Other times the density is wrong, often being too dense rather than fluffy. Those issues are not a factor at Gluten Free Goose. Trust me, I love my baked goods, and I can eat gluten. But I've also sampled many of the gluten-free options my wife has tried. Gluten Free Goose has some of the best gluten-free baked goods I've ever had.
They also have a really cute shop, with some tables so you can eat there if you'd like. But be sure to get some extras to take home with you too!
