"Before trekking to Sleepy Hollow, I stopped at Dale Talde’s Cantonese restaurant inside the elegant King Mansion, where the lobster and crab stir-fried noodles ($52.50) were outstanding — large clumps of lobster and bits of crab tangled with tender, chewy noodles that tasted even better the next day as leftovers. The main dining room’s portraits of famous faces with Westchester ties turned into a fun mealtime guessing game, and the smoked chile garlic beef brisket ($42.50) was also nice, with crunchy lotus root and rice cakes, though I could’ve used more of the latter." - Stephanie Wu
"For a memorable dinner in Tarrytown, expect modern Cantonese cuisine that showcases Hudson Valley seasonal ingredients from chef Dale Talde." - Nicole Kliest
"Modern Chinese food served by a James Beard-nominated chef meets a haunted past inside the King Mansion at the Tarrytown House Estate, said to be the home of Sybil Harris, a ghost who passed away in room 293 just above the dining area; while I wasn’t visited by any apparitions on a recent trip, staff and past guests have reported mysterious happenings." - Juliet Izon, Jamie Spain
"There’s a lot going on at Goosefeather, a Hong Kong-style Cantonese barbeque and noodle place set in a manor house on an estate in Tarrytown. There are multiple dining rooms with art deco ceilings and chandeliers, a huge outdoor seating area, and a swanky bar room. You can attack the menu in a few different ways: load up on vegetables and dim sum, focus on noodles and rice dishes to go with the barbecued meats, or stop by the bar for strong cocktails and small bites. Among the visual Easter eggs is a treat for New York Yankee fans: a framed photo of former pitching legend (and partial namesake) Rich “Goose” Gossage hung in a strategic location. Goosefeather gets bonus points from us as a spot that rewards repeat visits, thanks to a menu that keeps evolving over time, playful lawn parties, and seasonal special events worth a trip on their own." - mike wasserman
