Gràcia Mediterranean - Review - Rosedale - Austin - The Infatuation

"From the team behind (and right next to) Gusto Italian Kitchen in Rosedale, Gràcia is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and wine bar with a menu that spans everything from oysters to hummus, and calamari bolognese to lamb chops with salmoriglio. Over on the beverage side, there’s a wine list made up mostly of Mediterranean wines, plus regionally-inspired cocktails like a Spanish gin and tonic and dirty martinis with feta olives." - Nicolai McCrary

Google
A nice, cozy restaurant with good food but over-priced items considering the price is for tapas. Croquetas, hummus and lamb chops were amazing. Definitely a good place to visit once.

Google
Very cute Mediterranean spot on Burnet. Service was fine dining quality. The food was inventive and yummy. Loved the oysters, hummus, and afogato in particular. The hummus is the best in Austin.

Robert Godwin

Google
Start to finish, it was outstanding. Excellent suggestions by our server. Hummus, crab stuffed peppers, beef cheek empanadas, grilled octopus and a chocolate dessert.

Lana Lia

Google
The food is delicious, and the presentation is beautiful. The service is great, and they also offer live music. Additionally, they serve wild salmon, which is rare (most places offer farmed salmon).

Google
Great food, in an unassuming location, with great staff. They have shareable small plates - tapas style - that make it an enjoyable dining experience with friends and family. Their hummus and lamb chops are outstanding.

This place is a Hidden Gem! The Salad was amazing! The hummus was the best I’ve ever had! Eggplant was awesome!!! For my birthday treat, I received a sweet potato chiffon for dessert🤤🤤Delicious!!

Google
We had an amazing evening! Dylan was an outstanding server. The food kept getting better with each plate. The drinks were fabulous. The patio was perfect. I can not give high enough praise for this place. I'm from Houston, where we take our restaurants very seriously. And I will go back to Austin for this place. Don't miss this one.

Yelp
We went for dinner Sunday night which happens to be all day happy hour too! I got the beet cocktail - delicious! We ordered the potatoes, croquetas, lamb, salmon tartare, and the chocolate dessert. My favorites were potatoes, croquetas, and lamb!! The dessert was amazing and rich - super good if you like chocolate. My husband ate the salmon tartare- he liked it but it wasn't for me. Service was great, food came out timely too. Very cute indoor seating and beautiful bar set up, not too many tables inside probably 20 or so.

Yelp
Gràcia offers a cozy, intimate ambiance and our server was incredibly warm and attentive. The menu is on the smaller side, with fewer than 20 dishes, but what they do offer is thoughtfully crafted. You must have the pita with hummus! Soft, fresh bread paired with a smooth hummus was to die for, especially with that zesty punch and a drizzle of chili oil for the right kick. The Spanish octopus was an another hit, perfectly tender with crispy lentils that added great texture and flavor. The lamb chops were grilled to perfection, and that garlic butter sauce? Absolutely top notch. The only dish that fell short for me was the whole prawns. While the prawns themselves were cooked beautifully, the lemon garlic sauce didn't quite bring the dish together. Something about it felt like it was missing depth. For dessert, I tried the orange and almond cake which was a miss for me. The flavor was nice, but the cake texture was too dense for my taste, maybe they used almond flour? I was just expecting something lighter. Despite a couple of misses, I'd definitely come back. The food is creative and well-prepared, and the warm atmosphere makes it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a good meal.

Yelp
I have had this place bookmarked on Yelp for a while, but my recent visit here was unplanned! I came by on Mother's Day weekend after Picknik across the street had a long wait time. Surprisingly, Gracia didn't! My bf and I were quickly seated. To start off, we shared the hummus that came with hot and fresh pita triangles. The texture of the pita was variable, with the first bowl being more on the crunchy side and the second batch being more soft. In either case, both options were delicious. The hummus was earthy and had just the right thick consistency. I didnt get a picture of the shashuka, but it was incredibly delicious with two poached eggs soaked in a warm and spicy tomato sauce. My surprisingly favorite was the tortilla espanola, which was like an omelette pancake with a cream sauce and olives---it was so warm and flavorful (and full of protein!). I didnt have dessert, but my bf tried a slice of their clove oil cake with Greek yogurt and found it scrumptious. Sometimes good things happen when other plans fail!

Yelp
What an incredible experience was to have dinner here!! The place is small so I recommend to make reservations. Food was outstanding and with great presentation. Our service was good too! You have to check it out!

Yelp
We went for Mother's Day and ate on the very small and tight patio. The service was fine. The food came out relatively quickly and each dish was a well executed version of itself. We ordered: - Hummus appetizer - very lemony and delicious! It was supposed to be 50% off on Sunday, but they did not honor that. - Oysters (listed as 25% off on Sunday but they didn't honor it) - crispy potatoes - enjoyed - baby eggplant - I didn't like this dish. The flavor profile isn't something I can describe other than seemed heavy on the turmeric and florally. I love eggplant and couldn't eat more than 2 bites. - Lions mane mushroom - I did not enjoy the flavor nor the texture of this dish. The Cipollini onion rings on top were nice. - grilled octopus - was done very well, and the octopus was tender and flavorful. - Special off the menu - scallops with gnocchi. It was fine. Your average gnocchi and some scallops. No complaints. - lamb chops - covered in herbs and garlic and were very tasty! I would definitely recommend this dish. Something I didn't appreciate was them taking it upon themselves to add a fourth lamb chop to the order without asking us. Based on the description, we didn't know how many lamb chops were included nor did we care because we ordered so many things to try. When we received the bill, they charged us an additional $10 for a fourth lamb chop. Our kid didn't even eat it and three would've been enough. Regardless, I would've appreciated them asking before assuming we would want to pay for a fourth. - prawns with garlic - exactly what you would expect. Large head-on shrimp, swimming in an oil with copious amounts of garlic. - chicken entrée with crispy skin. It was incredibly well prepared. Very simple but well done. - chocolate budino dessert - was the highlight of the meal. I'm not even a dessert person, but I thought this was fabulous. Though I likely wouldn't return to this restaurant based on what we ate, and how expensive it was, I would come back for the dessert if it were an option! Please see my photos as well and if they helpful please "like!"

Yelp
THE BIG: Rosedale neighborhood restaurant represent! This restaurant is tucked inside the Rosedale Village shopping center and right across from the pinthouse pizza. Parking lot is available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here for Friday date night spot and saw tapas was on the menu. The interior is very nice and reminds me of a bohemian chic vibe. There was outdoor seating, but it was way too cold. We ordered the chicken, patatas bravas, crab stuffed peppers, scallops, and hummus. All were very good, but a lil pricey in my opinion. My favorite bites were the scallops and the chicken. Good to know that they make everything in-house day of. I could tell by the pita :D. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, damage done here was around $100 for five tapas. Pretty pricey for tapas but great flavors.

Yelp
Came in for a random date night on a Friday night. There was a good amount of filled tables but we were seated immediately. Hummus - Tastes very fresh! There wasn't quite enough pita by default but you can always add more. Empanadas - A bit in the dry side. Pretty rich and heavy. Octopus - Really tender! I enjoyed this order the most. It also comes with the largest beans I've ever seen. Lionsmane Mushroom - We had to send this order back because it was way too salty. However the waiter was kind and took the order off our bill. Swordfish kebab - This was pretty good. Not amazing but it was a new item on their menu.

Yelp
After a year, I finally came back--and it's still delicious. The lamb chops and oysters are absolutely worth ordering. While they didn't have hot sauce or Tabasco for the oysters the mignonette provide was find. Our server was great. The seating is a bit close to other diners, but the dim lighting creates a nice ambiance. Plenty of parking is available in the back, which is a plus.

Yelp
I save my stars for special occasions, and Gracia is one of those that consistently delivers (food, ambiance, service) while being slightly and delightfully north of central to avoid hysterical crowds. Chef is often sourcing the freshest local ingredients for a range of Mediterranean flavors in just-beyond-tapas sized portions, and I love it. My highlights - Cured Squash is a beautifully reinvented Greek salad with green olives, spicy arugula, fresh feta, and pépitas for crunch. It's familiar but exciting, all very good. When I'm craving lamb, this is where I come for a perfect portion, seasoned and grilled to perfection, topped in the most magical mint salmoriglio (which I believe is Italian for chimichurri). They call it tapas but I don't prefer to share an order, it's perfect for one! To finish - one of my favorite chocolate desserts, and a perfected incarnation here: the budino. It's rich yet weightless chocolate (which somehow feels less guilty) topped with airy whip and Maldon flake salt. So ends a perfect 3-course meal says I. Try for yourself!

Yelp
What a cute little spot. Thank you, Inkind, for sending me a coupon and discovering this little neighborhood spot! Stopped by for the end of happy hour and had a half priced Mediterranean Spritz. Not my normal drink at all as I don't love gin but the bartender Aaron promised me it didn't taste like gin and he wasn't wrong. The scallops and tuna crudo I got were both excellent. My only complaint is for the price I would have liked a bit more food. I left feeling hungry still. But the taste just did not miss. Aaron was great to talk to while I was dining solo, so 5* for customer service as well. Really liked this spot and will have to come back.

Yelp
We came here for a girls dinner. The place is small and cozy. The decor was cool, we were there early and it was quiet, but soon picked up with what seemed like a somewhat regular/ local crowd which was nice to see. We really enjoyed our meal. We've meant to come back, but haven't yet. The octopus was good, scallops were great. I loved the Old Cuban drink.

Yelp
Not a bad spot for date night! My husband and I came on a Friday night without a reservation- there were plenty of tables available. Located in a Rosedale shopping center, Gracia Mediterranean is a small tapas bar with modern, Bohemic decor and great service. Tons of packing in the back. My husband ordered 5 dinners and got really full. My favorites were the crab stuffed peppers and the scallops. Price is a bit high, so recommend checking out their happy hour!

Yelp
Our group of 4 were celebrating a birthday and there was a Happy Birthday card on the table. We were served a complemenatry small glass of sparkling wine to begin our celebration which was a nice touch. We ordered a variety of things and shared them: oysters, empanadas, hummus, lions mane mushrooms, prawns and chicken thighs, and the dishes were a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Our server was attentive. Free parking is available behind the building. Very nice experience!

Yelp
Amazing Mediterranean food and a beautiful space! Parking - was able to easily park in the shared lot behind the restaurant. Made a reservation for 6:30pm on a Thursday and I'm glad I did as the restaurant was full. Initally had booked for an outside spot but it was hot and they were able to move us inside which was great! Ambiance - really beautiful interior and nice vibe going on inside. Food - wow! I love Mediterranean food and this did not disappoint. My group had Rose or orange wine for drinks and loved it. For food we got the following: Hummus (the pita was SO good with this too), beets, tortilla espagnola (a must have!), eggplant, potatoes, octopus & scallops. We loved every single dish. Service - our waiter was friendly and attentive, the pace that our food came out was perfect. 100% would recommend and will visit again.

Yelp
Gracia is a Mediterranean concept from Flavor Hospitality Group, located in the same plaza as Gusto, their Italian restaurant. Having visited both, I was more impressed with the food and experience at Gracia. I met my friend here for happy hour, and we had the restaurant to ourselves for the first half hour. This allowed us to enjoy the small but intimate space and take in the coastal decor, which perfectly complemented the Mediterranean theme. I started with the Mediterranean Spritz, which was ultra-refreshing on a warm afternoon. The gin in it reminded me of a French 75 with a Mediterranean twist. For food, we sampled several tapas plates, beginning with oysters and hummus served with delicious grilled flatbread. We then indulged in the lamb chops and scallops with whipped potatoes. The lamb chops were amazing, served in a tasty salmoriglio sauce. The scallops were good, and I appreciated the whipped potatoes, though I wish there had been more, as the portion was small for the price. The service was exceptional, and the food and drink specials were great. I'd definitely return, perhaps for brunch, to try some different dishes.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of family style meals & have been searching for a good tapas restaurant in Austin & Gràcia hit the spot. The interior is intimately decorated with a coastal design and warmly lit by candles and rattan pendent lighting. The food was cooked to perfection. Each dish is beautifully crafted to have a perfect balance of flavors. The hummus was fresh, followed with a smokey after note from the chili oil. The spanish octopus was a perfect balance of textures of the fried lentils, corona beans, and grilled octopus in an addicting sofrito sauce. The oysters of the day were bright, sweet and delicious, the favorite of the table. A great experience with great service. Would love to come back to try more dishes.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to such a mid brunch spot/restaurant in Austin, but Gracia fell flat on a number of things during my visit. Service is pretty good, and our waiter was really attentive and kind. My friend received a dirty water glass, and I also asked for cream for my Americano that came in a dirty glass. My friend initially asked for orange juice, but we were told they didn't have enough oranges to make the juice? Interesting. My friends and I ordered the hummus, shakshouka, pistachio pancakes, and chorizo hash. I think their regular dinner offerings seem to be more popular, but in terms of the brunch menu, everything was incredibly mid. The hummus was pretty under seasoned, but I did enjoy the fresh pita bread it came with. The shakshouka also didn't have a lot of flavor, and the yogurt overpowered most of the dish. Pistachio pancakes were fluffy, but the actual pancake didn't have any pistachio hint. Lastly, the chorizo hash had gorgeous presentation and really fluffy eggs, but the overall dish was also just okay. I would be down to come back again for their dinner menu, but I wasn't a fan of their brunch. It's a really cute and small restaurant off of Burnet.

Yelp
A hidden gem in my opinion. Which is kind of a good thing, selfishly, for now. It's a small place, which makes it intimate and comfortable so I'm kinda benefitting from the hidden gem situation. But people will catch on... The food is outstanding. I'm not a scallops person but the scallops were fantastic. Perfectly cooked, tender, buttery, and sitting on a bed of butter... ok it was a bed of whipped potatoes but if I was blind folded, it tasted like butter... the first time we visited, my wife and I shared the dish. On our 2nd... she wouldn't share... so we each ordered our own. I like veggies so I'm inclined to pick plant-based dishes to round out the meal. We went with the beets dish and mushroom with black garlic (?). I think the flavor combos were absolutely outstanding! I'd go back for those 3 dishes alone. But wait - there's more. Crispy potatoes and octopus excellent. Not one dish we didn't enjoy fully. Palette cleanser: kiwi olive oil sorbetto with the orange almond cake. Not too sweet, just great balanced flavors for desserts. Highly recommend a visit. Tell your close friends but not your coworkers...

Yelp
I always love a good tapas place but this one was lacking in a few areas. We ordered 7 dishes, but nothing really stood out as amazing. Everything was just sort of mediocre. Although, I really liked the lemon poppyseed mimosa, very creative and a nice touch for brunch. I try not to rate a place based on service, but this lady seemed clueless. The place was empty, so it's not like she was busy. We ordered and had to repeat our order twice. She messed up and put in for two orders of empanadas and totally forgot another dish. We asked for two checks. She completely mixed everything up, which can be confusing, so not that big of a deal. We then tried to correct it as she wrote it down. Still, the check was incorrect. We just paid for whatever was on it. There was a classical guitarist playing so that added to the ambiance. Probably won't go out of my way to go back but wouldn't say no if someone suggested it.

Yelp
Nope. But you can get there in under 10 minutes, door-to-door! It's a neighborhood favorite! Nope. But you love lamb chops! And people say that the fresh chickpea hummus in chili oil is outstanding. Others have said that the vegetarian options, such as the Brussel sprouts and the grilled black pearl mushrooms... are amazing! Nope. The entire meal was less than mediocre. Some dishes were perfectly awful. The lamb chops were covered in dry herbs, which I found unappealing. A tad overcooked. Notably, I did request that they be cooked to the chef's discretion. In fact, the lamb chops were the best thing we ordered, but I got bored with them towards the end, and could barely finish them. The red snapper crudo tasted as if perfume had been poured over it. Inedible. I've had better brussels sprouts from my neighborhood Chinese takeout. The very praised hummus was unremarkable, even though I seek and appreciate fresh chickpea hummus. I did enjoy the focaccia to spread it on, and the za'atar to spread on it. My dinner companions were displeased with their choices. The calamari bolognese got a thumbs down. Just nope.

Yelp
Get. The. POTATOES They're amazing. So crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside. If you want to have a fun evening with your ladies, just grab some potatoes and wine! I mourn Fluff Meringues that used to be here, but appreciate how curated the wine list is, and how fresh the food is. So glad it's in the neighborhood, because I'm looking forward to being a regular! Hummus - fantastic. Bread - Fantastic. Jamon shrimp - fantastic!!!! I would say the only thing I didn't care for was the steak - despite being Medium Rare, I found the texture a little tough. I'll probably avoid this in the future and get other things.

Yelp
A nice quiet place with terrific personal service. Meals are excellent. My favorite is the lamb. Wine pairings recommendations have been good as well. Plenty of parking in back.

Yelp
The food here was outstanding! The oysters and the wagyu should not be missed! We also enjoyed the hummus plate and the crispy potatoes. The prawns would good but did not impress as much as the rest. I had a margarita that was delicious as well.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for date night and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Serving style is tapas of the Mediterranean variety of flavors, with an offering of delicious craft cocktails. The ambiance is very tasteful, a blend of stylish modern decor with Mediterranean influence. Gràcia is a quaint spot, comfortable in size that you feel relaxed without the noise levels being too loud like at larger places, so the vibes are more intimate and nice for conversation. The parking lot is behind the restaurant, which shares the space with other businesses on the strip, so parking may be limited due to this. We ordered fresh hummus, the eggplant, scallops, brussel sprouts, and crispy potatoes. The dishes that had the WOW factor were the dishes we least expected, which were the hummus and the eggplant! Don't get me wrong, everything we ordered was delicious, but holy moly these two dishes had me thinking about them the rest of the week. As avid daily eaters of store bought hummus, this fresh hummus was incredible and still stunned us with how flavorful it was. The eggplant was deliciously buttery and savory, and I never experienced eggplant being served this way! Vegetarians, you will be satisfied with your options here. Thank you Gràcia for such a wonderful date night! Check them out for your next intimate dining experience and their happy hour options!

Yelp
We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Gracia Mediterranean! The service we received from Christian and Dillon was great! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they made it special! There was live music from 2-4pm (they have live music on the 3rd Sunday of the month). The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and upscale. We hope to return one day when back in the Austin area!

Yelp
I wish I had better things to say about this place but it's a solid 3 stars for me. The company was amazing, so if I feel meh, about the food, I guess I gotta talk about it. I shared the paella, it DOES take forever- we put in our order 15 mins before everyone else and were still served last. It was really spicy, and so burnt into the pan I felt like it should have come with a chisel. The shrimp in it was ok, there were 4 for 48 dollars, and then maybe one tentacle of octopus or squid? It was pretty mushy and weird. I'm guessing it was octopus, because another lady at our table also ordered octopus and said it was mushy and weird. The beets were ordered by 3 people and unanimously proclaimed a win, the guy that had the lamb chops said they were good but he wished they had more sauce, and the steak skewers were proclaimed delicious. I also was offered a pit of the papas Fritas, it was very crispy but also very dry inside... I would t order those again either. Our waitress was okay, definitely not outstanding- had she returned when drinks were empty she could have gotten another round out of some of us. It was a very meh gastronomical experience, especially for the outrageous cost of everything, and I wouldn't tell my friends about it or ever come back. Also, it was great at 7 pm because we could hear each other and see our food, but at 8 pm, they dimmed the lights and turned on loud music. We immediately could no longer easily converse or see each other (thanks 40s haha) if you're young you might like this vibe better, but it killed it for me.

Yelp
Excited to see the new concept for this spot where fluff meringue used to be! My friends and I had a fun time. Cute ambiance & great service from the friendly and personable servers. They have a great list for cocktails, spirits, vermouth wines, house concoctions! In fact the drinks list is three times as much as the food list! We enjoyed our dishes - fresh, just adequately fishy, innovative flavor combinations. I loved both desserts I tried (rich chocolate budino & bright orange and almond cake)! We will be back to try the other dishes in the menu! They have a small dog friendly patio outside!

Yelp
Gem of a find in Austin's charming Rosedale neighborhood! Gràcia offers tapas with flavors from a variety of Mediterranean regions and a love for specialty craft cocktails. Both food and service were fantastic Here are some of my favorites! Drinks * Dirty Martini - flavorful Greek vodka, housemade brine, feta stuffed olive * Penicillin - i'm ready for fall with this carrot-infused scotch with fall spices * Grasshopper (new)- obsessed with this dessert cocktail! Creamy, minty, eggnog-like. Must try! Food * Oysters - fresh and briny Canadian oysters with a flavorful Fresno chili salsa * Hummus - looove the texture of fresh green chickpeas and za'atar chili oil on top * Lamb chops - tender, cooked medium with a charred exterior, drizzled with garlicy chimichurri & capers * Octopus (new) - tender flash-fried octopus w/ pickled onions on a savory white bean purée * Chocolate budino - rich dark chocolate pudding, caramel espresso whip, sea salt

Yelp
Our go to for a quick and delicious date night. We typically belly up to the bar, all of the bartender's service and cocktails are spot on and that's before even getting to the food. Start off with the oysters, super fresh with all of the tasty accomoanim

Yelp
This is such a cute find in the restaurant alley on Burnet road. It's owned and ram by the same people as Gusto, and the style is similar. Atmosphere: casual, communal, and intimate. Staff: Wonderful Decor: Clean, simple. And related to the food. Only problem; the tables are too close, and the spacing is awkward and inconsistent. The Food: So this menu is very purine seafood heavy. Some of the components don't quite go, but the taste of every dish is consistent with Mediterranean cuisine. The Must Haves: 1.) The Hummus: almost a pesto pine nut flavor, quite enjoyable, perfect balance. The bread is to die for, definitely get this one. 2.) the Salmon Tartar: it's basically salmon poke with spicy siracha Mayo. No really. 3.) The Fish and Chips -(Smelt)- too salty, the fried smelt can be found at any Asian market for about $4.99 a giant package. The chips were subpar. Skip this. 4.) The Lamb Kebab: perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice. Nice level of flavor. My only remark is to order it medium to get rid of the chewy factors. This taste delicious 5.) the scallops - Perhaps the best thing on the menu. This is the one thing J recommend everyone try. 6.) Budini-Pot de cream with salt, fantastic finish. The drinks are fairly priced and well balanced and refreshing. Overall it was a wonderful experience if you get the right table and order the right items. Recommend to at least try. Try it and let me know what you think.

Yelp
This tapas place was a pleasant find. We got maybe 5 small plates & 3 large to share. Our favorites were the lamb chops & the octopus (Pulpo) salad. The empanadas were also very good. Excellent service. There's a free parking lot in the back!

Yelp
Mediocre pseudo-Mediterranean. If you are going to be spending the kind of money Gracia wants to charge, you ought to be getting something at least worth a B or a B+. This is almost entirely C rate stuff. * * * Mediterranean food is all about quality ingredients. This house buys cheap readily available supplies from whatever is conveniently available in Texas. If they don't shop well, no amount of fooling around in the kitchen will save their ho-hum base supplies. Examples: a) The fish in my raw fish appetizer was tasteless mush. They dumped a sweet sauce and hot peppers on top of it to try to cover up for the indifferent fish. I would have had to have been very drunk in order to be fooled. b) Calamari bolognese was tasteless squid in a tomato sauce. To be fair, the calamari was tender. There is some cooking skill in that. The tomato sauce was dead the way that tomato sauce made with American gassed commercial tomatoes tends to be dead. c) Lamb chops featured a good spice mix and a not bad char on indifferent lamb. The lamb itself was mediocre, but they use Australian lamb here. In theory, Australian lamb is the best you can buy. Their spice coating is pretty good. Other people like the lamb chops I am not sure what went wrong with mine. d) Brussels sprouts were dead. Here, I assume the Brussels sprouts were the same ones everyone else uses. So the cabbage itself was probably okay. The problem was undistinguished cooking. Really, all you have to do with Brussels sprouts is leave them under the broiler until they caramelize. This is what most Austin restaurants do with Brussels sprouts. It is a wholly reliable cheap thrill. It is also one of the easiest dishes you can make in a kitchen. e) The pita bread that came with the hummus was first rate. The hummus was made with chickpeas and had a spicy oil on it. It was no better than supermarket hummus But no worse either. Supermarket hummus is just fine. The hummus was one of the better dishes on the table. f) Their potatoes were pretty good. They are served with a standard aioli on the side to give you something like a potatoes brava. This is what I actually ate to get full. * * * If you want to have Mediterranean food, Il Brutto is serious credible Italian out on the East Side. For red sauce Italian, don't knock Cipollina. Cafe Malta is an under-respected place on William Cannon. It emphasizes the Sicilian rather than the Tunisian side of Maltese cooking. That said, Cafe Malta has high integrity in what it does. Red Ash was terrific before they had their fire. I hope they reopen soon. I haven't done any of the new Spanish restaurants in Austin. Barlata was very good before it died. Arabic/Middle Eastern is usually food truck stuff (see Judy's in the 5000 Burnet Food Court.) Arpeggio has its charms. Any of these would be much better bets than Gracia.s

Yelp
Ate dinner here last night with my wife. Initially seated outside. Wow, it was hot, even though they have fans. Our server was nice enough to ask if he would like a seat at the bar when it became available so we finished dinner inside. Thank you very much! I thought the food and service was top notch. This venue is fairly small inside and noisy, but not so noisy that you can't hear yourself talk. I think parties bigger than four will have a hard time sitting together at times. I would recommend a reservation. Let's start with the fantastic. Specifically, the tomato salad was an outstanding dish. Fresh tomatoes. I have no idea what type of liquid they put on the salad but it was tasty. My wife liked it so much she ordered a second one. Must try! I had the steak, which was good, but I wouldn't say it was anything special, although I enjoyed the tomatoes that accompanied it, and the "sauce." The tuna tartare was good, and the pita chips were even better! We started with a dozen oysters which are 25% off on Monday. Happy hour. Extremely fresh tasting and delicious! Enjoyable meal at the bar, and Aaron the bartender/server was friendly and attentive (see photo). Thanks Aaron! My latte to finish off the meal was one of the best lattes I've had in Austin. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Cute and cozy restaurant off of Burnet. Not many large tables so make a reservation if you are bringing a group! Hummus and pita were warm, fluffy and delicious - tasted just like Greece. Lamb chops were flavor packed and a big highlight. Would recommend for date night or something fancier.

Yelp
Gracia is absolutely amazing. We went to celebrate Charmaine's birthday and when we walked in we were immediately greeted by a spectacular server. We started our meal with fresh chickpea hummus served with house flatbread and a Vieux Carré for a cocktail (thank you for putting my favorite spirit forward cocktail on your menu). Next we shared the scallops on a bed of whipped potatoes, along with the baby eggplant. Both were perfect for sharing. We followed that up with the sirloin steak and the crispy potatoes. We were so full we had to skip dessert, but I did make room to taste the bartender's excellent Carajillo. We can't wait to return. The folks next to us had the lamb chops and they looked scrumptious. Cheers!

Yelp
Intimate setting. Busy but not rushed. Quiet. Service is exceptional. Superb cocktails. Tasteful and subtle variations on classics. Order tapas style and share with friends. Oysters are on point. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and papas bravas. Lamb was delicious. We didn't try any of the large plates but they look intriguing as well. Next time...

Yelp
Ambiance of the restaurant was solid. Small intimate spot with a nice bar and outdoor patio. We had a reservation and wound up having to wait outside (it's summer time, so the weather wasn't exactly pleasant) for nearly 30 minutes past our reservation time before our table was actually ready. Which didn't exactly start the experience off on the right foot. Once we got to the table, the food was amazing. We enjoyed every dish we ordered and definitely will be going back again. Lamb Chops and Crispy Potatoes are a must!

Yelp
Fun & hidden gem! I've been excited about this place opening up since day one. Lively neighborhood crowd, pleasant staff, solid cocktails, and scrumptious food. Small intimate space creates for an inviting and loud atmosphere (in a good way) !

Yelp
Overall a well done Tapas meal. The potatoes and Brussel sprouts were the star of the show for sure. One lamb chop was a tad overdone. The 'Calamari Bolognese' was very seafood based. The Calamari was ground into the tomato sauce, and it did have sardines as well, the gnocchi was light and airy. The Orange and Almond cake was a bit more dense than expected. The service was amazing, Janine, was so amazing. It is a smaller place, but it is not overwhelmingly loud. Great for a celebration of nicer night out.

Yelp
Loved this place!! Food, drinks, dessert, service, ambiance, everything was on point! If you're debating whether or not to go, just do yourself a favor and go! Gracia is a sister restaurant to Gusto Italian Kitchen, which is one of our favorite hidden gems in Austin. So of course when Gracia opened their doors, we knew we had to check it out! We started off with some cocktails and loved what we ordered: - Penicillin: highly recommend for all my fellow whisky cocktail lovers - this drink is a blend of scotch, ginger, honey, lemon, and a few other ingredients. It's great when the weather getting cooler but honestly it's a great all-year round drink. - Old Cuban: if you love refreshing cocktails, this is your drink! The rum, lime, and mint make it a perfect drink for a summer day. For food, we got the following items: - Fresh Chickpea Hummus: this one is a must! - Crispy Potatoes: fresh, crispy, and delicious! - Brussels Sprouts: great addition to get some veggies in. - Oysters of the Day: my boyfriend loved these! - Lamb Chops: my boyfriend described these as tender and flavorful, he loved them! We ended our meal with the following desserts: - Grasshopper (dessert cocktail): soo creamy and delicious! It's pretty heavy though so I'd recommend sharing this if you fill up fast. - Chocolate Budino: if you love chocolate mousse, this one is for you! Do keep in mind that it has an espresso whip on top so if you don't love coffee, ask to get it without the whip! - Orange & Almond Cake: so tangy and soft! Perfect to pair with your morning coffee! Overall, I loved this place! My only complaint is that I wish they had more vegetarian friendly main options to make it more accessible to different dietary preferences. Even outside of that though, I'd go back just for the drinks, apps, and desserts!

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary here, which was also our first time visiting. It's a quaint spot ,but it did not feel too cramped or loud. The decor is modern and inviting with an overall upscale feel. Our server was just attentive enough and helped us choose just the right number of dishes to leave feeling full but comfortable. The food was great! My favorite was the hummus and the chocolate bundino! Our meal was paced well allowing us plenty of time to enjoy each plate with a brief break between dishes. We were seated inside, but there are a few tables on the small patio. It seems like there could be some road noise if seated out there, but that may not bother some people. There is on-site parking behind the building, which is always a plus. Overall we really enjoyed our experience and plan to come back soon!

Yelp
Gràcia is the perfect place for an adorable girls night or a romantic date night. It's a small restaurant but it doesn't feel claustrophobic. It's beautifully decorated and warmly lit. I went with a girlfriend for their restaurant week. We arrived before 6pm so we got a half priced cocktail as apart of their happy hour-- the Mediterranean spritz was delicious (and strong)! Such a great deal for the size and quality of the cocktail. I loved the food. The highlights for me was the hummus, lamb, and chocolate budino-- the flaky sea salt soooo makes it. Service was efficient and kind. If I'm around the area and want to treat myself to a nicer dinner, I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Came in on a whim--the food and service was excellent. Highlight was the swordfish--very unique and tasty. We also really enjoyed the lion's mane. Will be back.

Yelp
Truly a little hidden gem in Rosendale neighborhood! Not sure what was here prior, but this is a cozy little Mediterranean spot and I would highly recommend a reservation if you want to squeeze yourself in. We came for our anniversary dinner and staff was super attentive in providing recommendations and the service was prompt. This place offers tapas style dishes but they are a bit larger then other tapas restaurants I've been to. We ordered Oysters, hummus, and the burrata. Out of the three starters I wasn't that impressed with the burrata, it was lacking flavor although the peaches added a nice touch! For Entrees, we ordered the Lamb Chops and the Denver steak with some crispy potatoes on the side. My favorite out of the entrees was the Denver steak, it was cooked to perfection! The table was quiet small but I think the ambiance, food, and service make this a great date night spot! We will be back to try out more of the menu soon!

Yelp
Maybe this could be a 4 star restaurant on a good day, but unfortunately Mother's Day 2024 was not that day. A complete dud of a meal and an experience with no desire to try again. The cushions along the wall where we sat were dirty and there were bits of food on them. Not a good look. They were also completely understaffed; we saw two servers, maybe, for the whole place, so it's no wonder that we had terrible service. We saw our drinks sit on the bar for a solid 7 minutes before our server decided we were worthy enough for her to bring them over to us. The Mediterranean spritzes do taste good though. That could be the only nice thing that we have to say. We started with the crispy potatoes, which were crispy, yes, but also drowning in the aioli sauce. The brussels sprouts were so salty and believe us when we say that it takes a lot for us to complain about salt levels being too high (we did enjoy them with the capers). You know what would have been awesome to serve with the lamb chops? Steak knives! The three of us were sawing away at ours when we saw the table next to us get TWO steak knives with their lamb dishes. Unbelievable; the lamb did not taste particularly fresh and the large pieces of garlic in the gremolata did nobody any favors. What brings this place down from three stars to two was the wait between those aforementioned dishes and our halibut. A LOT of time passed--so much so that we even asked about where the dish was, and then, lo and behold when it came out, it was barely lukewarm. Like, what? Are you kidding? With fish? It could have been good if it was actually served hot, but no. At that point, we cut our losses, asked for the check, and got the hell out of there. We're not surprised that Gracia wasn't good because that particular block of Burnet has always had failed restaurants come and go. It's a doomed location and this place proves it, and we have no doubt it'll be gone within the year. Ugh, Happy Mother's Day and thanks for nothing!

Yelp
The food at Gracia was outstanding, the service excellent and the ambiance very good and cozy. We ate several tapas: the octopus, the Patatas Bravas, the Spanish Tortilla and the Scallops, everything was tasty and very authentic. Then we had the chicken and the Crab Benedict: excellent choices. We were very satisfied. I plan to return on Wednesdays when they make Paella. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Yelp
Loved our dinner at gracia! Parking was convenient, the restaurant was very cute inside, and the all day Sunday happy hour was a nice surprise! The food menu was on the smaller side, but we loved everything we ordered. Some highlights were the hummus, halloumi, and black pearl mushrooms. It was so nice to find multiple interesting and delicious vegetarian dishes on the menu. Also absolutely loved the sorbetto for dessert! Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Austin. Each dish was amazingly flavored and on point. Be sure to try the jamon croquettes and scallops! Plus, the service was friendly and attentive. Just be aware that the food portions are very small, which can make the experience pricey. But definitely worth the splurge!
