The Best Pizza in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"This pizza parlor right off Burnside specializes in fluffy-crusted, gently-blistered, Neopolitan pies. Opt for the margherita for a classic pie with San Marzano tomatoes, or try the pancetta pizza topped with egg yolk, mozzarella, and dill. The menu features a tight selection of nine pies, plus a rotating chalkboard special. Though pizza is the focus of Grana, an order of warm olives or chicken liver mousse is a worthy add-on to complete a meal." - Ben Coleman

An Upcoming Pizzeria Hopes to Popularize Naples-Style Folded Pizza in Portland - Eater Portland

"This fall, Chris Flanagan — a former chef at bygone Portland restaurants Tabla and Ten-01 — and his wife Maya Setton will open a pizzeria specializing in Neapolitan pizza with a twist. During the day, they’ll hand portafoglio, or 'wallet-style' folded pizzas, out of a takeout window at the former Pizzicato location on East Burnside Street. By night, the restaurant will serve regular Neapolitan pizzas, wood-fired small bites, and Italian wines." - Janey Wong

I don't have enough words to describe how good our experience was. I have eaten pizza in Rome and Milan many times, and this pizza stood up to the challenge to impress my taste. It was simply perfection. From the burrata to the tiramisu with two different pizzas in between. The crust was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Felt like biting on a could. The combination of the toppings was brilliant and simple. I was left with a smile and a taste for more. Until next time.

After a year of planning, my wife and I finally snagged an evening to visit this place for a spontaneous date night, and it did not disappoint! We arrived just before the dinner rush, so we barely had to wait, but I’d definitely suggest making a reservation just to be on the safe side. The vibe was relaxed and inviting, making it the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner. Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and just a delight to chat with. One of the highlights for us was watching our dishes being prepared right in front of us; it added an intimate touch to the whole experience. When my margarita pizza arrived, I was blown away. Every bite was a burst of flavor—the dough was perfect, the sauce vibrant, and the cheese wonderfully fresh. To top it all off, I enjoyed a refreshing can of lemonata, which was the cherry on top of a wonderful evening. What was particularly great is that my wife, who has to be mindful of gluten, found the menu incredibly accommodating. She loved her dish as well! Overall, it was a memorable night filled with delectable food and warm ambience. We can't wait to return!

Had been eagerly waiting to try Grana and finally made it in last week for an evening dinner. All in a lovely meal and great atmosphere. I will start by saying definitely make reservations ahead of time. We had one, but sitting at the front of the restaurant we counted at least about dozen parties come in and then proceed to leave after hearing about the hour plus wait. The atmosphere is lovely inside. The tones are warm, the art is nice, and the pink tile lines the back while by the pizza oven. We were sat unfortunately at the very first table which is typically not my preference but I understand given the time of day. The chef’s counter looked like a fun option if you wanted to mingle a little more and the owner I believe was the one cooking up the pies which is awesome. Food overall was super tasty. It’s a lighter and doughier pizza than folks are maybe used to. Certainly more authentic neopolitan style. The flavors were rich and tasty. Dough had good flavor and the tomato sauce you could just tell was fresh. We wound up getting two pizzas and an app which I think is the right amount for two folks to share. The white bean spread was a delicious starter and came with tasty bread. Service all around was great. Wait staff were kind and efficient. If anything I wished less folks had come in to ask about availability because it meant the cold air kept leaking in but I understand that isn’t in control of the restaurant. Great date night spot overall!

Google
A chef friend of mine recommended this place and I went for lunch. Pictures are Negroni, Cesar salad, Margherita, and Pera. Surprised 3 times. 1. Overall price range is very reasonable. 2. Pizza and salad were excellent. 3. Still there was no line like Apizza Scholls and Ken's, which are off of my list from today on. In PDX: For pizza and pasta, go to Carina lounge. For pizza and salad, go here. For higher end Italiano, go to Nostrana.

Chicory Caesar Salad: This salad was delicious. The savory flavors hit right away. The high-quality olive oil shimmered on the plate, making it visually beautiful. The cheese was sharp, cutting through the richness of the dressing. The chicory was not too bitter, and I loved the crunch from the crispy bits. The lemon and olives made the salad “pop” even more. Margherita Pizza: it was simple and well-executed. The crust was crisp without being burnt, and the flavor of the olive oil really came through. The basil was fresh and fragrant, and the cheese was mild, allowing the sauce and crust to shine. Diavola Pizza: The Diavola was another hit. The meat had a sweet, savory flavor that paired beautifully with the chiles, which added a fruity flavor to the pizza. Again, the crust was phenomenal—flavorful and perfectly cooked. The drizzle of honey tied everything together. Tiramisu: This one was a miss for me. It was a little bland—the ricotta layer, in particular, could’ve used a touch of vanilla, in my opinion. Service & Atmosphere: The service was excellent. The food came out quickly, and the servers were on point. Overall, a great experience. I can't wait to come back!

My wife and I have been working though the top 50 pizza places in USA and finally Enjoyed a meal here at GRANA! We started out with Appetizers of Burrata and Olives, and they were delicious. The Margherita pizza was also delicious and honestly better than quite a few of the others we have tried on the top 50 list ranked higher! The pistachio tiramisu was also delicious. This place is a must when visiting Portland!

Google
Nice little spot with authentic Neopolitan pizza. (Fairly soft and fluffy crust in an Italian style that is not trying to be one of those other Portland styles). The salad are good and they have a couple great sandwiches at lunch. The sandwiches are made on pizza bread that is straight out of the pizza oven. (See pic)

Google
The best pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve been on a pizza quest for a few years just trying places and now I’ve found it. The best one. If you’d like an authentic pie (and to watch it being made from the bar) then this is THE place to go. Excellent quality all around. Definitely give this place a try and then come back and upvote this review so we can all agree that I was right.

Yelp
The best Italian style pizza I've had in this city everything was fantastic thank you so much the waiter was so kind to me and my wife

Yelp
Grana is truly an incredible experience. The food is absolutely phenomenal, but what keeps us coming back is the impeccable service! Ellie always makes us feel special, and Kyle has such incredible wine knowledge! If I could come every day I would! This place and the people running it remind me of what makes restaurants so special. Cheers to Grana!

Yelp
Place looks so clean design, great atmosphere amazing kind friendly service and mainly the food was amazing good, we had margarita pizza half Caesar salad, it was perfect. We will definitely come back next week. I would give it more than 5 star. I found about this place from Katie food critc. https://www.instagram.com/foodcritic_katie?igsh=MnFwMWljYzlwbms2 and I had to try it, she said it was so good and I am glad we stopped by today. I forgot to take pictures but I will next time.

Yelp
I really needed Grana to be worse. I needed it to be so far off base that I could easily skip it for a Jersey/NYC slice at Baby Doll, a Sicilian at Bull Run, or a rainy day senior special during non-tourist season at Ken's (I'm not going to Dove Vivi because I enjoy pizza). But no: The place had to come through on several levels. But let's start with a topic that the two-star voters aren't necessarily wrong about: The crust. It's airier and spongier than it should be, but by no means undercooked. It's a damned shame because it's holding this lovely array of cured meats, hot honey, white pie, and other combinations that Grana excels at. Also, as others have mentioned, it rewards those who travel light. If you're a party of two or fewer and can clear out of there in less than an hour, you can enjoy your burrata, your pizza from dough to plate and your glass of Piedmont Barbera at the bar with no issue. If you're from the neighborhood and just want to eat solo, they'll pull you over a stool. It's a lovely little dining room that's also the only place in the city that knows what panuozzo is. Granted, it's going to hit you with a $13 premium for it, but that's what you get when a lunch item that's a fixture elsewhere is so rare here that it's basically a delicacy. I'm not going to lie: I'm not going to schlep up to Otto if I'm at the Laurelhurst because the crust is slightly more sturdy. I'm not going to go to Pyro if I'm not getting a lamp at Lounge Lizard because who has the time to wade through that mess? Grana's somewhat spongy crust is offset by all of the effort it's putting into the other elements of its pizza and the overall efficacy of the shop. I love that I've complained so much about Italian-American food in this town that the stretch from Baby Doll to Providore is basically Little Italy now, and Grana has earned a place in the rotation that 'medigan Pizzicato never occupied.

Yelp
We'd been wanting to try Grana for a bit & will definitely be back! The interior is simple but cozy with a laid back welcoming feel. We had a reservation & snagged a nice quiet table against the wall near the counter. It was full when we arrived, but not too loud which was great. If you're able to make a reservation in advance it'll save you from waiting, it's a small space so it seemed to be a bit of a wait for walk-ins during the rush. The food was as good as we'd hoped. The Caesar was a lighter take on the classic, love that it wasn't totally saturated in heavy dressing. We ordered two pies, both very different & both delicious. My favorite was the Diavola, wonderful flavor with a hint of heat! These are definitely pizzas where the crust is worthy of being eaten. I wish I'd saved room for dessert, the tiramisu looked delicious. Next time!

Yelp
Went here for the first time and thought it was very good. We had the Diavola and classic Margherita pizzas. We also had the warm olives and the burrata to start - everything was excellent. The ambiance is nice though it's a smaller restaurant so I'd probably get a reservation on the weekends. We found the service a bit slow but it was fine - just don't be in a hurry. Everyone was very friendly. Would go here again.

Yelp
Highly recommend making a reservation. Other reviewers commented negatively on the customer service, but we did not have that experience at all. Our server was very pleasant and checked in on us numerous times. It never crossed my mind to squeeze fresh lemon juice on my olives but now I will! Pizza dough/crust is soft and chewy, airy, ingredients were fresh, and I like the little pockets of burnt crust.

Yelp
It is a hard thing to open a gourmet pizza joint in Portland where there are so many prime spots already. And to open one literally in the shadow of Ken's Artisan Pizza is another level of panache entirely. I do have a lot of "respect for the craft" that's on display as soon as you walk in through the doors. The crust tastes fresh, is fluffy, and has just the right amount of char you want from the wood fired oven. Each pizza has a very distinct set of ingredients, all of which are fresh and perfectly proportioned on top. I suppose my lack of enthusiasm for Grana comes from the fact that what it has to offer isn't all that different from many other pizza places in the city and the pizza lacks a certain zing in flavor. What's the point of assembling the parts in a technically perfect manner when the sum of these parts lacks a vibrant soul? While eating here I was reminiscing about the hot chili oil I used to douse on my saucy Margherita at Life of Pie pizzeria, or the steaming, fluffy cloud of eye brow raising goodness that's in every bite of Ken's. I hate to leave a less than stellar review, but I will say that Grana has got the goods to bring me back and give it another shot.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Grana adheres to the rule of thumb of having a small menu to ensure that everything is done right. They truly pull it off. My only quibble can be found outside the doors - parking in this neighborhood always seems to be a challenge. The large parking lot on this block is designated for the other businesses, and street parking can be highly unpredictable. But once you've found your way inside, all is well. Service is attentive but never hovering, the space is bright and comfortable, and the food is fantastic. We tried two different pizzas, neither with red sauce, and they were delightful. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what else they do well at Grana.
google avatar

Yelp
Exquisite. 11/10! No notes. Panna Cotta is the best I've ever had. Even if you have your own lil pizza oven, you're not making better pizza than they make here.
google avatar

Yelp
Grana is a truly incredible pizza spot! I had it on my list during my trip to Portland, and wish I had gotten here sooner! It's some of the best Neapolitan style pizza I've had, including some of the top-rated Neapolitan places in NY and LA. I arrived right at 5:00 when they opened, and was seated at the chef's counter. Instead of a bar, you sit around the pizza-making area, complete with a beautiful oven. I started with their selection of warm mixed olives, and ordered the Nonna pizza, which was phenomenal. Don't miss out on Grana!
google avatar

Olga I.

Yelp
I've probably been back a minimum of five times now, and having been to Italy and eaten pizza there - Grana is probably one of the best that I've tried in Portland. You can't go wrong with any of their flavors, but when I'm missing Naples, the Diavola and Margherita are the go-to's. Highly recommend trying their specials and the Bianca as well - again, can't go wrong with any, they're all so tasty. If you're planning on heading there for dinner, grab a reservation to ensure that you have a table as the space is small, but very cute and cozy. Service is always great every time I come and I'm already looking forward to the next one. For now, ciao!

Yelp
One of those difficult reviews: pizza is definitely one of the best in Portland, but service needs an adjustment. If you want customers to check-in first before ordering and paying via your stupid QR code when sitting outside then I suggest some signage. Our misunderstanding of this non-stated rule resulted in the female "hostess" sporting a major attitude the rest of the meal, she just couldn't let it go. Not one outside table was taken, so we sat, we ordered via your low-touch system (you know, provided revenue to your business), we got reprimanded. We apologize for our crime. That said. the fennel citrus salad was wonderful. And the pizza with dill, egg, and prosciutto was excellent. I can't think of a better wood fired/Napoli style pizza in town, and I've had many. This is meant to be eaten very hot, but the light and airy crust still retains is softness when cooled. Unlike the aforementioned employee, the guy who brought the salad was very pleasant. It may take a few tries, but parking isn't too bad. This kind of pizza come out fast. Five stars for the food, two for Ms. Attitude.

Yelp
Secret is out on this place. Everything here in incredible. Sit at the counter and watch the action.

Yelp
I don't get the buzz around this place. It's supposed to be one of the best pizzas in the world? It's not even the best in this part of town. And neither is it one of the best of its style -- wood-oven Neapolitan -- in town. (I would put Otto's, the Turning Peel and Pyro ahead of it in the Neapolitan category.) The pizza is kinda soft and doughy. The atmosphere is upscale from when this was a Pizzicato. Now it's a date place. I got my pizza to go, so maybe I missed out on the other joys of dining there. It seemed cozy and romantic. The servers seemed friendly and helpful. The online ordering worked fine. You're in the heart of swinging 28th and Burnside, so it might be a convenient place to grab a pizza after a movie at the Laurelhurst, shopping at Music Millennium, or having other fun in the area. But you do have at least three other pizzerias nearby, all good in their own ways: Baby Doll (New York style thin crust, good bar attached and lots of outdoor tables), Ken's Artisan (more upscale than Grana, similar pizza) and Bull Run (thicker crust, popular for slice orders and outdoor dining).

Yelp
Right off the bat, my salad plate was dirty-- it looked like it might have skipped the dishwasher, with some crusty food still on it. Thankfully, the staff quickly took care of it. We love sitting at bars, but when we arrived without a reservation, we learned the bar seats were fully booked. The bar itself is located at the front of the restaurant, with tables running along the side. Despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon, we were seated right away. The menu had so many great options that it was tough to choose--a problem I actually enjoy! We started with the Burrata cheese plate, which was good, though not quite as creamy as we had hoped. Next, we shared a delicious bottle of wine and the Nonna pizza, adding two eggs. The eggs were a great choice--they really enhanced the dish. Overall, it was a solid dining experience at a good restaurant!

P B.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and salads made delicious with superb ingredients and simplicity. The space is pleasant, if slightly cramped. But it's well worth a visit or ten. I have noticed a slight edge to the service with one or two of the regular servers manifesting an impatience and abruptness that might be a function of the demand on this place for the food. I'm not sure what that's about. It wasn't anything terrible-- just in contrast to the warmth and joy of the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent kind helpful staff Lovely calm comfortable ambiance Delicious food! Pera pizza was a seasonal win w radicchio @ Gorgonzola Salad with orange and arugula winner! Perfect Aperol spritz Very nice bathroom, all gender & elegant details. One of the best pizza joints in town

Yelp
I've eaten plenty of pizza in my long life, but rarely wanted to spend time reviewing. Grana is so good I just have to say so! From the beautiful and incredibly fresh and artistic Caesar salad to the refreshing Amaro Soritz, the beginning moments were superb. The ambiance is cozy and charming and the staff so professional and friendly. When the pizzas came we were stunned. Lusciously topped with fresh and delicious cheese and gourmet garnishes, we immediately made use of the scissors that came on our plates and began cutting and devouring our slices. Wow. Just wow! Get your reservation now.

Yelp
Small but elevated pizza spot in a good Mecca. The quality of the dough is fantastic, so great score for that! It's chewy, crispy and charred. The pizza options were delicious as were the salads. I just wish it was less crust and more toppings. Service was good, scissors were provided for easy dividing. This was a great spot for our group of 6 and being able to try multiple pizzas! It would be a great date night spot
google avatar

Yelp
Grana was a secret love for us until it got ranked as one of the top 50 pizza spots in the country. There are so many amazing restaurants on this block, and Grana fits right in. The pizza is fantastic, but the Caesar salad is out of this world. Unlike most Caesar's, Grana's is light and refreshing. As a usual crust hater, I could not stop snacking on the Neapolitan style pizza's outer edges. With a small dedicated staff, ordering from the tables QR code is required. Get a reservation, and try this tiny previous hidden gem.
google avatar

Erika B.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place out for being in the top 50 best pizza places in US. However, i was disappointed. The flavor profile is there but the dough was soggy in the middle that it flopped down when picked up and then all of your toppings fell off the pizza. There should be some structure to the dough. It was either under cooked or drowning in the sauce they put on.
google avatar

William N.

Yelp
Nice to have an obtainable pizza spot. Lots of nice pizza in Portland, but this place is a bit more "kitchen forward" while having a decent amount of seating. We came in with no reservations, and given an option to seat if would could leave in an hour/2. As fast as the chef was, that was no problem. Definitely will be making reservations for our next pizza night! Oh yeah. The pizza is amazing! Salad as well!!
google avatar

Jenny Lynn C.

Yelp
We love Grana! The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is friendly, and the food is to die for. I recommend the Burratta with baguette. It's prepared so beautifully and the flavor is out of this world. I also love both salads, the citrus and the ceasar. Both are fresh and delicious. All of the pizzas are prepared to order, and the ingredients are fresh. I have tried them all and love them all.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok wow, the portafoglios? More like portaforget about going anywhere else for lunch! I've now tried all three of their portafoglios, or "hand pizzas". These are essentially personal Neapolitan pizzas, wood fired in the oven and folded into a little triangle shape which is perfect for snacking on the go. The folded shape consolidates the cheese/sauce/toppings into bites that are more satisfying than a normal pizza; maybe New Yorkers are on to something with their folded slices? Even better, due to how it's folded, what would normally be the crust of the pizza is now the top, which here is topped with a creamy pesto sauce and shredded cheese. This is so great for me because as a crust-hater this makes the crust infinitely more enjoyable. Now that I've tried all three types (the "standard" Margherita, the meaty/spicy Diavola, and the "white pizza" Bianca) I was expecting to come here and provide the definitive rankings... alas they were all so good I can't pick a favorite! Oh well, guess I'll have to circle back for another tour through Napoli. Shucks :)

Shari L.

Yelp
This is exactly what I would dream of when I think of pizza in Naples. OMG!!! We must go to Naples to compare. Can't even imagine it's better. Make a reservation. And you're going to want to order the tiramisu but don't. Get the pana cotta. You won't be sorry. Get any pizza and you'll be happy!!!
google avatar

Bruno B.

Yelp
Went for lunch on a heat wave weekday. I read about their folded lunch pizza when they launched and had to have one, but it's taken me this long to come. It's a elegant little space, and it was nice and cool inside. The qr code ordering was simple enough, and food came quickly. I loved the chicory ceasar! caesar salads are often too creamy and pungent, and this had very fresh endive and chicory and just enough dressing to make it delicious. The pizza came, and damn, the pie itself was incredible. Chewy sour dough, a little crispy and also a little runny in the center. The folded sandwich was a bit to much for one - I ate about 2/3rds. I got the mortadella, which had a slight pistachio spread. Like the salad, the ingredients were pretty much left to tell the story; sauce and spice and salt were left to a minimum. I completely respect that, and it was so tasty, but just a bit more oomph would push it over. I think I'll sneak in my own Maldon next time.
google avatar

Yelp
We came because of the recent national rating and were so happy we did! The pizza of course was amazing but the ceasar salad was the star of the show for me. I would drive a really long distance for that ceasar salad. The olives in it were delightful and my husband will be back to pick up many to-go orders of that specifically.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Server was delightful. the disappointment upon opening box at home....I know prices for everyone have gone up....but a 9 inch pizza for $18???....the scant few bites of cheese were very good....but so little for so much and the crust was doughy. Cannot understand the high rating. Wish someone else had warned me by writing this review I am, regretfully, writing. Oh well.

Michael G.

Yelp
Pros: - Clean, well lit - Above average pizza, arrives to the table hot and is well cooked Cons: - Bad service, pushy, forces the bill on you before you finish the meal. There's no ruder way to communicate that diners are unwelcome in your restaurant than to push the bill before the final dishes are cleared and guests have said that, indeed, they are ready for the bill. - Average appetizers, certainly nothing special - Dull, boring desserts. Most definitely avoid - Reservation system stinks. My party of 2 made an online reservation, and were notified that only counter service was available. When we arrived, the restaurant had only two other diners in the entire restaurant, and yet, when we requested a table, we were denied. When we left an hour later, there were all of four diners in the entire place. Grana is a one time experience. Better yet, it could also be a no time experience.
google avatar

Sam T.

Yelp
The staff was really sweet and kind. Attentive to our needs the whole night. The vibe of the place felt a little upscale but 'lax at the same time. Definitely a cool vibe. The pizzas we got didn't seem like they were anything special though. At about $23 a pie, you'd expect some knocking off of the socks, but really they were just unique but pretty standard Neapolitan pizzas.
google avatar

Kareem A.

Yelp
Not to be hyperbolic, but this may be the best tasting pizza I've had in Portland - specifically the Diavola. It just balanced really well with the salty, sweet, and cheesy. My wife and I have tried a looot of pizza in Portland and I'm a born and raised NYer. This pizza was some of the best, definitely worth a try. We liked our caesar salad too. Folks were nice, the inside looks small but it surprisingly fits a good amount of people.

Yelp
What another great addition to NE 28th and Burnside! Grana started as a pop up and now has a brick and mortar! Featuring Neopolitan pizzas, Grana uses fresh, local ingredients, and truly lets their food speak for itself. The restaurant is small, with a few tables, definitely good for smaller groups. Menu is through a QR code and you also order online. We got the Diavola and Funghi pizzas and service was fast and efficient. The pizzas were great! The ingredients tasted fresh and the dough was chewy and pillowy. The Daviola had salami, calabrian chili, and honey drizzle. Sweet and spicy, it was great! The Funghi featured seasonal mushrooms, pine nuts, chevre, and topped with arugula. All the ingredients just worked. Balanced and harmonized. Nothing was too overpowering, nor were they underwhelming. Sometimes less is more, and Grana is a testament to that. Portland has great pizza and Grana lives up to the standard!

Yelp
Everything was good, food and ambiance. My wife thought that the pizza was a top 50, I was unconvinced so I settled on 4 stars. We had the Caesar salad, warm olives and Diavola pizza. Others complained about the service but our server was very friendly and very helpful. It is great that they take reservations. We saw 5-6 people try and stop in without and left. So easy to make reservations on their website.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and the service was impeccable. The Negroni was strong and the pizza was perfect. I love that they provide scissors to cut the pizza. The hype is real. We also had a citrus fennel salad that had a delicious dressing. We will definitely return

Yelp
Oh my goodness the best Neapolitan pizza I've ever had so far. When I die, please lay me in a bed of their pillowy crust.

Yelp
The space is beautiful, small, and yet well organized, cozy, designed with intention, the furniture is eye catching, the color coordination is on point. I went on a Friday and they were really busy. It took a little bit to get a table, and there was only a server that night, seems like they could use another hand. I would love to see more appetizer options on their menu. The pizza was just great! Perfect ratio of cheese and toppings, the flavors were so good, the combination of salame and honey is incredible. Being a small spaces it is really nice to be able to listen to the chef/owner chatting with the people seating at the bar. I really liked this place!

Yelp
A new shop at the PSU Farmers Market! Their concept and menu are very enticing. They fold a 10" pie so that you can easily eat it while purusing the park. All their pies are made fresh to order too. We tried the Rick & Morta which was a ricotta, mortadella, and pistachio combo. Sounds delectable but, unfortunately, not as great as it sounds. The flavor just wasn't their. Not sure if the toppings they used weren't the best but nothing worked together. The dough was bland and bready. Mortadella just tasted plain and there was no pistachio to be found. I also didn't like the balsamic glazed they added, would have been better without it I think. They have other pies that sound delicious as well, in case someone would like to try them out. Probably a one and done for me.

Yelp
Classic food cart/pop up cook not ready to the operational intensity of a restaurant. The good - Pizza is good. Like most places over topped the sopprasata, but its good quality. Cheese was good, the bake was perfect. Sauce was excellent. Dough itself, however, could be better. It didn't taste very mature. The bad - terrible service. The pizza over is barely large enough for the restaurant, and they were taking take out orders causing massive delays. Couple next to us with two small kids ordered before we sat down and got their pizzas after us taking a whole hour. When they complained the server and the owner didn't seem to care. When they got their pizzas, they asked about their bread sticks. Server said "yeah...I will have to just cancel that".

Yelp
If you like the thin Neopolitan style pizzas, then Grana is legit for that. They even got a few honors in international pizza competitions for their pizzas, and I'm sure they'll get more attention since they're still less than 1-year-old. We made reservations for dinner, and it is a nice contemporary space. While we were eating, there were a lot of people up front and I think they were waiting for takeout orders, so seems popular for that. They operate on a QR menu mode, which I personally like because you can do everything on your phone, including paying and tipping. The menu has some nice starters like salads (we had the chicory caesar) and appetizers (we got the white bean and a second dish of asparagus). Serving size was pretty big and decent to share. The pizzas are a nice medium size, not super big like some places but not small like an individual. Because they're thin, we felt we could order more than one, and got one red and one white. Oddly, the menu had more white pizza options (pizza without tomato sauce). For the red we got the Diavolo and for the white we got the Pancetta, which had nice salty strips of crispy pancetta on top. The pizzas come out with scissors for you to cut your individual pieces. Overall, they were fresh and quality stuff. I enjoyed the red pizza more, although I'll note the tomato sauce is slightly sweet (which I enjoyed but some others may not). Definitely a nice addition to Portland's diverse pizza scene.

Yelp
Their previous pizzaiolo made authentic Neapolitan pizza. But now I see new pizzaiolos and their pizza dough was raw and thick. Yes... The pizza dough was UNDERCOOKED. It was disg*! Restaurant owners need to understand that they need to value their chefs and keep them. It's not easy to find good pizzaiolos in America. Besides that, the ambiente looks cheap, but they charge you like they're an upscale restaurant. I've been to finer pizzerias owned by Italians that are consistent with their quality, and charge you at least $5 less than Grana's cheapest menu choice.

Yelp
A new pizza place that just opened up next to Whole Foods off E. Burnside. The indoor is nice and cozy, and you order from the counter. We came here for lunch and were able to get our food pretty quickly. The lunch options are pretty simple, with three different pizza options to choose from. What's unique about this place is that the 10" pizza is to cooked and then folded up and served in a container for you to enjoy. There is this sauce and extra cheese that is sprinkled on top of the pizza that gives it the extra flavor. This is only served during lunch as a quick and mobile option for diners. I really enjoyed my pizza. I also ordered another one and asked for it not to be folded so I could see what it would taste like, and it was also great.

Yelp
Saw the pictures of their pizza on Yelp and decided to stop by one day while in the area. I ordered the Diavolo. The pizza is made in front of you. The flavor was wonderful. It reminded me of the pizza that I had in Rome, Italy.

Yelp
Since Diavola pizza closed, this has been my favorite marg pizza in Portland. Note that **they do not cut your pizza** (??). It's alright in-restaurant, since they give you scissors that work well. But take-out, it's annoying.
