My Nhu L.
Yelp
I've been a loyal customer at Green Lotus for years. It was my go-to spot for comforting Vietnamese food, and I always brought new friends, clients, and family along, hoping to introduce them to authentic flavors and support a local business. Sadly, this visit was a huge letdown--and it will be my last.
I usually order the same things: the Thai hot pot, fried mushrooms, and spring rolls. But this time, everything was off--way off. The moment the food hit the table, I could smell the old, rancid oil. That alone should've been the red flag. The food looked darker than usual and completely unappetizing.
The portion sizes? An absolute joke compared to what they used to be. The fried mushrooms were more like burnt crumbs than actual pieces. The spring rolls, once fresh and flavorful, were soggy, smelly, and overcooked. The vegetables, which used to be a highlight for me, smelled off and looked wilted.
And the hot pot--don't even get me started. $30 for a few sad slices of tofu, a couple mushrooms, and some unidentifiable, rubbery meat that tasted awful. The broth, which should be the star, was bland and strange like someone forgot to season it at all.
The people seems like they just here for their money hourly and go. They dont care abt customers. Their face show really angry and unwelcomed.
It honestly feels like the owners have given up. No care in the cooking, no attention to quality, no pride in the food. I've spent years supporting this place, bringing in new customers and spreading good word, but it seems like they just don't care anymore.
I'm not the only one noticing the decline--my friends and clients who came with me were just as disappointed. I'll be warning everyone I know to stay away from now on.
Take care of your business--because clearly, nobody there is doing it right now.
