Super friendly service, food that's amaaaaaazing. Try the poached egg with sourdough and smoked potato puree! Dessert should be chocolate cake - fudgy, moist, rich, and not too sweet. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Chicago.

Great vegetarian food in small portions. I liked their jackfruit sandwich, Roman gnocchi and pumpkin soup the best of all. Nice desserts too.. Expect to pay around $40 per person, they also have a chef choice sampler for around $45 per person.

Refined vegan small plates in a quiet atmosphere. I wish I'd taken more pictures; the presentation is beautiful.

The last time I was at Green Zebra, I gave it four stars. After my second visit, I realize that I scored them a little low. I had to go back in order to try a special morel menu that they were offering as well to try a few other dishes. In my mind the last time I went the only thing that stood out in my mind as being really good was the Mushroom Pate. I had it again and it was still great as I remembered. However, this time nearly every dish was memorable. I wanted to dive in and lick every plate. Let me be clear I'm an omnivore. I love meat. To deliver to me a vegetarian meal that I love is amazing. Even outside of the Morel specials which were delivered at an amazingly low price, the tamarind peanut sauce with the black bean dumplings were so complimentary and tasty to be ignored. After a second visit. I realized I underestimated for sure the first time. Now I can't wait to go back.

Yet another excellent visit to this outstanding restaurant, which also happens to be vegetarian. The menu is a little eclectic, but approachable and delicious. The deserts are sinful, and the beer list is off the beaten track but stands up to scrutiny. I am an irregular visitor, but always pleased with the food and excellent service. I never hesitate to recommend it to Chicago visitors, whether they are vegetarian or not!

We ended up there, my girlfriend and I for Valentine's Day. The ambiance, decor is cozy and the sound level is somewhat moderate. They only proposed us the Valentine's Day Menu at $65.00 per person. It is not worth the price. There is a major lack of creativity and taste for a vegetarian gastronomic restaurant except the coconut cake which was soft and flavorful. I really do better at home. The service is bad. Waiters do not seem to be happy at all and do not give you any advice or food recommendation. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.

The bartender on saturday's, Carla, was super awesome and helpful with picking out food. She is vegetarian, and knew a lot about how the chef's prepared the dishes. And she makes great cocktails! If you get stuck at the bar, you wont be disappointed. I would definitely recommend the Acorn Squash Dumplings while they are in season. They taste great.
