Rotating house-brewed beers are tapped in a tasting room & seasonal garden & paired with pub fare.
"Half Acre’s North Side brewery is a comfy space with a large beer garden. The brewery pours hard-to-find stouts like Benthic and Big Hugs, with a serviceable bar menu. The place gets crowded on the weekends so get there early." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman
"Half Acre’s 60,000-square-foot space provides plenty of room for production, plus a shop, taproom, and beer garden that serves the flagship Daisy Cutter pale ale along with limited and seasonal brews like Reef Knot summer lager and Flume IPA. Grab a seat indoors or under the shade of an umbrella on the tree-lined patio and order a pint paired with fish and chips or a charcuterie plate." - Samantha Nelson
"The taproom of Half Acre Beer Company in Lincoln Square isn’t trying to be a full-blown restaurant with 689 things on the menu. The short food menu here consists of tasty things like currywurst and a fried chicken sandwich with gochujang mayo that go really well with the house beers. Plus, they have a spacious beer garden, and host fun events like movie screenings, holiday markets, and even Magic: The Gathering game night if you’ve been wanting to show off that deck you’ve been building. "Half Acre Beer’s North Side brewery has been going through a menu refresh over the last few months, with the biggest update coming in early February where you’ll find a combo of burgers and basic bar fare mingled with Filipino flavors (the lumpia is a highlight). The fish and chips is more traditional, with a battered walleye coming out with duck fat confit potatoes as the chips. Fish and chips should be a default item at all brewpubs, and this one goes well with Half Acre’s full variety of brews — the fish complements the dark stouts just as well as it does the light lagers." - Ashok Selvam, Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff
"Half Acre in Lincoln Square is another brewery where Filipino dishes coexist with things like burgers, and shrimp and grits. And while we aren’t sure if the Filipino food-brewery connection is a trend per se, we are sure that snacking on lumpia feels even better with a crisp pilsner. These meaty egg rolls are unsurprisingly excellent considering the chef was also behind the much-beloved-but-now-closed Isla Pilipina. But if you want something more substantial, check out their rice plates like the vegan-friendly stewed taro leaves in coconut milk or the tart and spicy pork sinigang with a whole produce party of green beans, bok choy, and daikon." - john ringor
