"Half Acre waves their North Center flag high and proud. From their warped wood walls to their handcrafted wood stirring paddles, it’s hard not to be in awe of the level of detail, pride and passion they put into everything they do. From their friendly staff vibes to the quality of their beers, Half Acre is hands down one of the best craft breweries in the Chicagoland area. Ok, so let’s talk food. The cherry on top of this already ideal brewery is their new playful food menu. Developed and designed by chef Nick LaCasse (former Drawing Room and mfk chef), items such as the Nachos Pamplona and the Oxtail French Onion Soup pair nicely with your already laudable experience. Brewery tours are offered to the first 60 people on Saturdays 11:00am. Let’s not forget to mention the growlers, don’t leave without one." - Anna Affias
"This is just outside of the Lincoln Square jurisdiction, but we had to include it because it's just steps away and is one of our favorites. Half Acre is a local craft brewery who has a grip on Chicago bars and liquor stores. If you fancy a tour of the brewery, be sure to get there early since they cap the tour at 60 people and it fills up fast. If you end up being #61 and get denied, hang out in their tap room to sample some beer or visit their store to bring a growler home with you. Their tap room is a hot spot in Lincoln Square and is the perfect place to grab a beer with a friend or a group of people, any day of the week. Pretty soon their second production facility, 1.5 miles north of this one, will be open to the public and include a tap room, 200 seat restaurant and 5,000 sqft event space. Tip: Right now this location doesn't serve food, but there's plans in the works to build a kitchen." - Knoed Creative
"Half Acre’s North Side brewery is a comfy space with a large beer garden. The brewery pours hard-to-find stouts like Benthic and Big Hugs. The bar menu includes burgers and even lumpia. The place gets crowded on the weekends, so get there early." - Ashok Selvam
"The taproom of Half Acre Beer Company in Lincoln Square isn’t trying to be a full-blown restaurant with 689 things on the menu. The short food menu here consists of tasty things like currywurst and a fried chicken sandwich with gochujang mayo that go really well with the house beers. Plus, they have a spacious beer garden, and host fun events like movie screenings, holiday markets, and even Magic: The Gathering game night if you’ve been wanting to show off that deck you’ve been building." - josh barnett, adrian kane, john ringor
"Half Acre Beer’s North Side brewery offers some novel spins on bar fare like lumpia, crispy frog legs and fish and chips with battered cod and smashed potatoes as the chips. Fish and chips should be a default item at all brewpubs, and this one goes well with Half Acre’s full variety of brews — the fish complements the hoppy ales and barrel-aged stouts just as well as it does the light lagers." - Sam Nelson
