"Samgyeopsal (sliced and grilled pork belly) is the thing to order at this Korean barbecue joint. Fatty strips of pork belly are grilled, then cut into smaller pieces using kitchen shears, and eaten with a selection of banchan, including spicy cabbage kimchi and paper-thin pickled radish. And Gyeran-jjim (fluffy steamed egg) is excellent on top of steamed rice with grilled pork belly and kimchi." - Didi Paterno

Ham Ji Bak is famous for its pork ribs in LA, so I often went there to have ribs. When I was on a business trip to Dallas and wanted to eat Korean food, I came to Korean Mall - Furneaux Creek Village Shopping Center in Carrollton, which is in Koreatown, and was wondering what to eat, and when I saw Ham Ji Bak and went inside without thinking any further. It was so cold on the day I visited that l ordered galbitang and spicy stir-fried squid as a side. Honestly, the food wasn‘t as good as I used to eat in LA. However, the server was really friendly and like family, almost like an aunt, and she was really kind and brought the side dishes right away when they were running low, so I was able to finish my meal with 100% satisfaction. The taste of the food was a bit disappointing, but the customer service was top notch.

Google
Meat quality was the best amongst any Korean bbq places that I've been in Dallas. Galbi-jjim(sweet soy sauce slow-cooked beef)was also good, and all Banchans were so good. Sue was in charge of our table and she cooked all bbq for us. She was super kind, attentive, and fun too. Most importantly, she cooked meats perfectly! Definitely going to comeback!

Google
This is the best Korean restaurant in DFW!!! Their side dishes are so good and they change them per season. Very fresh and very tasty. The bibimbap is awesome! The service here is also fantastic. Server Yu Na always has warm smile and greetings, which make me feel home. Love this place and definitely will be back again. I am looking forward to trying their BBQ and other dishes. The owner lady is very reliable and hard working. Every time we eat here, we can see her in the restaurant and is busy with customers, checking and service. Highly recommend this place!!!

Google
Yuna is #1!! She made our experience so enjoyable today when we visited for their late night special. She cooked the meat for us perfectly and was so sweet throughout the entire service. Their cold noodles are perfectly icy! Will 100% be coming back!!

Kevin Trinh

Google
Lots of food! Hot pot was awesome and cooked in front of us. Grilled spicy pork belly was great too. Shout out to our lovely server Sue!

Logan Kassner

Google
Amazing! Yuna was a great server and made sure our Korean BBQ experience was amazing. The selection of meat was awesome, but the sides and flavor were all different and extremely satisfying. We have only tried 2 other Korean BBQ joints in the DFW area and this one has by far been the best. Would recommend for both a casual date or mid to upscale kick back with family. We will be back for sure! Also worth noting that if you have never tried Korean BBQ this is very authentic experience, but not intimidating for someone trying the first time. Thank you Ham Ji Bak!

Google
Sue took care of our large party and helped us bbq all the meat. Excellent quality with such good banchan. My family truly had a lot of fun and enjoyed themselves. Splurge on the big pork and beef combo, you won’t regret it. Ask for their special sweet pickle pepper banchan, it’s so good with meat.

Google
We loved this location! Food was absolutely delicious and pricing wasn’t too bad and honestly it was reflected in the quality of the meat. We loved the service and attention to detail. We will come back for sure!

Yelp
Bottom line: for the price, you're better off going to an All You Can Eat! We ordered the preset menu #3 which came out to be a total of over $30 per person (the meal was split between two). The quality of the sides was very average, with the cheesy corn being exceptionally plain. The quality of meat did not taste particularly exceptional, and was probably on par with an AYCE's. Some pieces were also a bit over cooked by the server. Positives: really liked the bean sprout salad that came with the table, rice bowls were included at no additional charge, short ribs were very tasty

Yelp
I came here with my parents after wanting to try it for a long time. We got the combo set with beef and pork, which was very good. Next time I want to get just the pork set since this place apparently specializes in pork, and I think that was the better meat we were served. The servers cook your food for you here, and the set comes with the typical sides plus soup, steamed egg, and cheese corn, so you definitely won't go hungry! While the server cooked the food really well, the meat was all cooked in very quick succession so it felt a little rushed. Overall it was pretty good, if I come again I will just order the pork.

Yelp
This review is from a visit in January of 2024. Upon further review, ruling on the field stands: this may be the best Korean BBQ restaurant in DFW. Every time we come here, the quality is consistent, the service is great, and the taste is just too good. The pork here is unbeatable and I haven't had any samgyupsal or jowl even close to this one here in the States. It's so flavorful, and the panchan are generous, nothing misses. And the price for a small combo is around 50-60 dollars which just blows us away for the price. My girlfriend and I discussed and if this shop was open in LA, it would be tiktok-famous, huge, and extraordinarily popular. I saw on reddit many people from Korea come here and were not disappointed-- it's a hidden gem that I want to gatekeep but honestly deserves more recognition. For the people who talk about all you can eat, this is not an AYCE, this is a QUALITY KBBQ place that doesn't marinate everything in sauce- you can taste the premium level of the meat (particularly the pork) here. This is now a staple for us every time we come back.

Yelp
During the tour of Korean delights this past weekend, I was invited to this late night stop for more Korean bbq! This place had an airy ambience, friendly staff, and the food was amazing. One thing I love is the attentiveness of the servers who make the selections right there with you instead of making you do it. Korean culture from the start and you are definitely not going to be disappointed. Makgeolli, soju, and beers were all amazing. And their barley tea was perfectly brewed and tasted amazing as well. Can't wait to visit this area again and make this restaurant a definite stop again as well!

Holly N.

Yelp
Oh man I love this place! Not only do I love that they cook the food for you, I love the service here! They are really A1! I love the macaroni salad that comes with the bon chon. The cheese corn is good. Everything is good. For some reason my favorite is the cold noodles. It's different here. It's got so much flavor!!

Jessica W.

Yelp
Not bad....i'd rather go to saemaeul or an AYCE place. we went on a very empty day and the ambiance was kind of drab. meat wasn't the best cut and extremely fatty and the banchan could've been fresher. ventilation was there but even with just us and one other table there we still walked out reeking of meats. staff and service were fast though, and price isn't too expensive. its not bad but unfortunately with all the other options in the area i'd probably go somewhere else instead.

Kiera L.

Yelp
Friendly service, and fun atmosphere! The food was very good, and I was soooo happy to see they serve cold noodles here!

Sharon M.

Yelp
We had just off the plane and it was midnight. We were worried that nothing was open for dining. Our friend who resides here in Texas suggested this spot. It was our first time here and was happy that they were open until 1:30am. As soon as we entered, the aroma of Korean BBQ made me feel even more hungry. We were greeted by a very friendly employee who sat us several minutes after as they needed to set up the table. When we sat, our table had several different banchan (pickled daikon, kimchee, mac and corn salad, a white and green onion salad, and a spicy bean sprouts salad), & three different sauces (salt, pepper, oil, bean paste, and bean powder). We ordered: (1) Set Menu C which consisted of Thin Sliced Beef Brisket, Beef Bulgogi, Marinated Beef Short Rib, Beef Finger Meat, *Corn & Cheese/Steamed egg/Soy bean paste soup/Kimchi soup (2) Several Orders of Pork Belly and Marinated Beef Short Rib Because we ordered three additional meats, we were able to get an extra side of kim chee soup. They also gave us lettuce for our meals and bowls of rice. All of the meats were good and tender and even better with the sauces. The kim chee soup was spicy but had a really good flavor. Everything tasted very delicious! The restaurant was clean and so was the women's restroom. The service was on point and amazing. The employees were very nice and welcoming. They even cooked our food for us. Normally, you would cook your own but I think it helped to speed up the process since it was late and we were the only ones there. One of the employees cooking even showed one of our friends how to eat everything with the lettuce as he asked her. The prices were reasonable despite that everything was ala carte. I would definelty return and would suggest this place.

Yelp
I went here for a friends Birthday dinner one Saturday night. It is at the corner of a shopping center strip. It is ordered family style so 4 of us split the Menu B Large $106.00 with Marinated Pork. They give you sauces, sides and soups while you wait for the meat to cook. They cooked the meat for us which I appreciated. There were 3 different meats, some kind of steak, pork belly and the marinated pork. The steak was okay, very bland without adding sauce or putting it with something. I did not care for the pork belly, it was quite tough. The Marinated pork was delicious though and my favorite. They give you sides of cheesy corn, an Asian salad, kimchi, macaroni salad, steamed rice , steamed egg and 2 soups (Soybean and Kimchi). I really like the flavor of the Asian salad, the sauce it is in is addicting and I enjoy the onions in it which some people might not. The Kimchi soup was also pretty good, lightly spicy but very tasty. I did not order it myself but did get to try 2 different Soju's. The Strawberry Soju and the Chamisui Fresh which are $15.00 each. The strawberry one was too sweet for me but the Chamisui was pretty good. They provide water to pour yourself on the table. This ended up being like $35.00 for my part after tax and gratuity. Pretty good overall and I am sure I will be back as this is one of the birthday girls favorite places.

Miles M.

Yelp
This is easily one of my favorite Korean barbecue places. The meat was very delicious, better than other places I've been to, the service was also great and the table chef was also very nice and we chatted about her life. I hope sometime I can come back again.

Katalina P.

Yelp
My party only tried their pork options and the meat was so good! The quality of the pork is top grade. They provide a wide range of side dishes and unlimited refills. We also ordered the kimchi stew and steamed egg. ALL DELICIOUS! The servers were very friendly and attentive. They continuously checked in on our table to flip/cut the meats. And they would bring us more side dishes if we were done.

Gina K.

Yelp
Rebbeca and John were amazing. They really made our experience 1000% better. First time trying something like this and it was quite the experience. Thanks for all your knowledge and sharing your childhood memories Rebbeca. We enjoyed your service a lot.

Emily B.

Yelp
PORK BELLY WAS SO YUMMM. went w 5 of my friends and we finished one of the platters idk which one. perfect amount of food

Lynn N.

Yelp
Absolutely no stress when eating kbbq at this place!! All of the Banchan was extremely fresh and practically unlimited. A small combo comes with 2 sides which we had chosen the steamed egg and corn cheese. No regrets. The smoothest and custard -like steamed egg I've ever had at kbbq and the corn cheese was perfect, not too oily. The servers simultaneously cooked all of our meat to perfection. There was no need to worry about them burning it like some kbbq places do or about cooking and eating at the same time. Absolutely no complaints and they def knew what they were doing. Our main server was so attentive and always reminded us to let him know if we needed any refills on anything. Extremely high quality and highly highly recommend!!

Mary C.

Yelp
We chose Set Menu C, which is all beef. Slices of beef brisket, beef bulgogi, marinated short ribs and beef finger. Our favorite was the beef finger, next favorite was the short ribs. The beef brisket slices did not have much fat in it, so it was a bit dry. The bulgogi was okay, meat was a bit dry too. The set menu came with 2 sides. We chose the bean paste soup and corn with cheese. I do love how our waitress taught us new ways of wrapping our meats and also which veggies and dipping sauce for a specific type of meat . That's just excellent service! We have been eating Korean Bbq for the longest time (in L.A. California) , and we never had this experience of the wait staff taking the time to explain things. We will be back. We will try the other stuff on the menu.

Ivan W.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try instead of Ari & was massively disappointed. I'm not sure what the other reviews were saying but the portion sizes and the side dishes were not satisfying. You only get macaroni salad, kimchi and a side of kimchi. If you don't order the large and order small combo you have to pick two out of 4 between steamed egg, corn cheese & two stews. Never heard of a Korean bbq place not giving both. Portion sizes were small & the beef meat in combo C is terrible. Meat is tough and not tasty at all. There was barely anyone in the restaurant on a weekend & they never changed the grill once so the service was subpar as well. Very very disappointed

R. Mark M.

Yelp
I wanted to try something different than Gen Korean BBQ as I have never been happy with the quality there, plus it is always so busy. Ggui Ggui is now my new Korean BBQ spot. We had exceptional service--they were on top of things. I found it a little unusual that they told us they grill the food at your table for you and they would quickly take the tongs from us. I was ok with this as I felt like I was getting good service. There was so much meat for the price and it was much better quality then Gen, but what really stood out was the exceptional sides. They were so delicious and plentiful. I promise you this is one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in DFW.

Craig M.

Yelp
Delicious Korean barbecue with outstanding service. It wasn't crowded when we arrived, and we got lots of attention from our server and the staff. Ordering was easy because one person in our party spoke Korean, but I am sure the staff would give great advice if you were a novice diner as well. The server did keep giving me advice about which sauce to use with each meat. We were particularly impressed by the array of sides and accompaniments they served with the meal.

Brettny J.

Yelp
I came back with a group of 4. The servers did seem overworked, but it wasn't as busy as it was the first time. So we got rice and everything came out correctly. We got several orders of the beef bulgogi and the marinated beef. Both were great and came out to less than $20 for each of us. I really like the scallion salad and am trying to recreate it to make at home.

Trini T.

Yelp
The food was great to try out and it kinda like Ari. The table are where we dine in was supper cool but the restaurant at the time was really crowded. Service are just ok. I with recommendation if you want to try out new bbq place!

Glen C.

Yelp
Probably the best KBBQ in Dallas. I've tried so many like Omi and Gen and they just don't compare. Price wise and service. The servers are quick and good comes out immediately. Prices are decent given it's not AYCE. Meat quality was fair. Not wagyu mind you but the seasoning is what you'd expect. I like their soybean salad that they provide. Nice change from the lettuce salad other places give. Clean and plenty of tables. Definitely somewhere I will continue to frequent since I am in Dallas quite a bit.

Truc Y.

Yelp
The place is clean and the service was prompt. However, I am surprised this place has such rave reviews. The banchan was limited - the eggs were overcooked, the soups had no depth of flavor and the onions were not even cooked in the soup. We had Set C and the meat quality was poor and dry. Also, the bulgogi was overly sweet. We are used to brisket point being finely marbled. We had the opposite experience of what the reviews stated. We tried this place instead of Ari based on the reviews but it was a regrettable choice. Having lived in Los Angeles in the heart of k-town, this place was such a disappointment.

Benjamin C.

Yelp
With all of the great Korean bbq in the area, it took us a while to try out Ggui Ggui, and boy should we have come sooner! The staff was super friendly and are quite attentive. The meat quality is all top notch, but we particularly enjoy the pork related items such as pork belly and especially pork jowl. The meat pairs particularly well with the roasted soybean powder (konggaru) that they serve as a dipping option (which I have not seen anywhere else ... the same powder you'll find on injeolmi if you're familiar with that). Overall great food, great service, great atmosphere! Definitely recommend!

Jonathan T.

Yelp
So many good things about this place. -Great service - all workers are rotating to check on you/cook for you. -Sides and meat were delicious. Sides were better then most of Korean restaurants i've been too. -Flexibility - They have a set menu but they allow the option to switch out for other items you may prefer. (will have to pay for difference if you switch for something more $$)

Wayne R.

Yelp
Really great Korean spot to go for a late dinner. Went with my wife and had some great food and the staff was extremely helpful and very attentive at our table.

Amber W.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite spots in Carrollton! A must try! Everytime we visit the town we try to go somewhere new, but I always want to revisit Ggui Ggui!

Fuck You G.

Yelp
Tried to guilt trip me into tipping like my government doesn't tax me 50% already Also proportions were small

Nga N.

Yelp
Wanted to try this place because I was not down for all you can eat KBBQ at the moment. Service was good. They were prompt and on it. Food wise, we got the beef combo for 4 and extra bacon. The bacon is the reason why I'm giving this a 3 star instead of 4. For $16 or $18, they gave 2 smallest/tiniest strips of bacon (not even a full strip). Overall, the meat were good, banchan were decent and I'd go back.

Johnny H.

Yelp
Amazing service and even more amazing food. It's not as busy compared to other places in the area so we were able to sit immediately even with a large party. What makes this place stands out among others is definitely the service! The nice Korean lady cooked everything for us and even showed us how to eat type of meat with the banchans. I was able to try almost every meat and nothing was disappointing. I actually liked the pork items over the beef. I also loved the banchans and everything had great quality. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back!

John C.

Yelp
A fantastic choice for KBBQ in Carrollton! The staff was very friendly and patient, took the time to review the menu with us and suggested the perfect amount of food. The meat tasted very good and the selection is good. We had a party of six and there was more than enough space, a good spot for large parties. Overall definitely recommend!

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
Got combo C, small beef. Egg custard and extra galbi. From start to finish, the waitress didn't speak. Perhaps her English was not good? Food was ok. But my hubby was concerned about food contamination : she used one tong from start to finish in grilling the food. Used one tong to pick up raw meat, used same tong to pick up cooked meat, then used it to pick up more raw meat, used it to pick up cooked meat, and so on. Over and over again. When grilling was done, she just left us. My hubby happened to ask another waitress if that's their standard practice. She said no .. they used different tongs , but that's not what happened to us. We normally use 2 tongs : one to handle raw meat and one to handle cooked meat, so this is concerning to us. Update: my hubby has uncomfortable tummy now...

Jessica T.

Yelp
Ggui Ggui in Carrollton where the late night ambiance is great, the food is delicious, and taste is spectacular. Compared to other KBBQ this location actually cooks your meat for you, which is a great bonus for those who aren't so great and cooking themselves. Pictured: * Pork belly * Pork Jowel * Beef finger meat I definitely recommend for a late night eatery!

Elizabeth Marie R.

Yelp
I freaking love this place! The food and service is amazing! We had tried this place one night and the very next day we went back for more. Honestly my favorite Korean bbq in that area! The sides are all so good. The finger meat and the ribs are my fav! The egg, cheese corn, and noodles are also good!!!!

Eric W.

Yelp
Great new Korean BBQ place that isn't "all you can eat" but the servings are just right. Ordered the beef small combo and it was a good amount for 2 people. We enjoyed how they cook for you and the servers were so nice!! They explained what the sauces were for and how to eat everything together! Loved the sides-soy bean soup, corn cheese, spicy bean sprout salad, etc.

Krista R.

Yelp
Ggui Ggui is in the same area as Tiger Sugar, Arirang, and BBQ Chicken, It's at the end of it all where Gangnam chicken used to be. Parking lot was packed, but noone was here. We got the combo set B, which came with pork belly, marinated pork shoulder, brisket, bulgogi, and corn cheese. We added pork cheek and pork jowl. I like that there was a Combo with just pork, just beef, and a combination. Usually it's either just pork or beef. I enjoyed all the meats. Loved the brisket and the pork especially the jowl. They give you decent sized portions and decent priced. It's simple. THEY COOK FOR YOU! I love doing the cooking, but husband doesn't want to be bothered with it. I think that's the fun part of the kbbq experience. So if you don't feel like cooking it yourself, this is the place to go. Decent banchan. Loved the green onion sauce.

Aya S.

Yelp
It's just ok Korean restaurant. You only get 2 side dishes. That's really disappointed. Meats are good. But they're better Korean BBQ restaurants out there.

Tony T.

Yelp
Dumbest place I ever been to. Way over price for each item who gives a damn about unlimited sides i came to eat Korean bbq. I order a plate of k ribs it was 15.00 dollar and they brought out two pieces ! There were 6 people eating ! I also order the pork belly it came out with two pieces ! And the bulgogi was enough for a child. No wonder it was dead in here on a weekend. I would give it a zero if I could

Jasmine V.

Yelp
Flavors are decent. I do like the sides! If you get there large preset menu, you get all the sides that's on top of the menu. What I like most is the service, they cook for you and pretty on top of everything. I hate the 1-2 hour wait at gens. I rather just eat here.

Ken H.

Yelp
Prob one of the best briskets I've had. They cook for you. It's more premium than most places like gen. It's like Ari level but more casual and no wait. Portions are smaller but it's quality!!!! there's better pork elsewhere but I am returning for the no wait and high quality meats. Some of the waiters don't speak the best English. When I ordered finger meat, a first waiter said there was no more. Another waitress brought it out.. what a miscommunication... glad there's finger meat forsure

Vindo C.

Yelp
Though it wasn't AYCE.. the unlimited sides was a great plus! my son loves KBBQ and this was his spot! he probably had 8 orders of rice, lol, but the meat tasted good and I loved how our server taught us how to eat the meat properly, along with how to combine the sides and soup and salads that they served, overall experience was pretty good here, will def come back.

Jane S.

Yelp
Second time here and I really liked it. The prices are cheaper than most Korean bbq cause you get smaller portions. I liked that though cause then you can order more variety. The green onion dipping sauce was my fave thing about this place

Chris G.

Yelp
This place is great, awesome staff, awesome food.....a great time for all. Ggui Ggui is a legit K-bbq

Ken T.

Yelp
Lunch on a Sat; very good food and service and reasonably priced. Very fresh and beautifully prepared sides and main proteins. We had the pork and beef which was delicious. Great experience.

Vero M.

Yelp
We were so nervous. Never had Korean bbq and felt like a fish out of water. We literally were blown away. The service was amazing. Our server was basically our personal chef and she helped us the entire time. What to order. What to mix together. I have never in ANY restaurant felt so important as I did here. I am sold on the great food and incredible service.

Junyoung A.

Yelp
Likely the best Korean bbq place rn. Everything just works - the seasoning sauces everything. Pork belly is amazing quality. I would go here again and again

Steve L.

Yelp
Finally tried Ggui Ggui today and will definitely go back for more. Good quality meat, reasonable pricing, great service!! Had some pork meat today (#1 thru 3 on the menu). Just the right portion serving for myself and my wife. Comes with your choice of stew. We got the kimchi stew, and that was extremely good as well, slightly spicy. The server does a superb job grilling your meat. Meal comes with delicious side dishes and sauces that pair very nicely with the meat. You will not be disappointed for sure. Highly recommend!!

Linda N.

Yelp
Everything here is so good! Service is kind. The sides are good here. Truly a hidden kbbq gem spot. Don't skip out on this place!

John T.

Yelp
Tried this place after wanting something different nd they didn't disappoint. Nam nd Gee we're super nice nd helpful. What awesome experience in addition to some great food. The beef was my fav in addition to the corn nd cheese side.

Julie N.

Yelp
The meat quality is the best!!! We got the small set with pork belly and also a side of chadol. Wow! It was so juicy! Coming back and telling all my friends this is the best bbq spot in dallas right now!
