Lord, where do I start! If you haven't been to Harmony Hall, make time to head out there now, it's one of the best breweries in all East Grand Rapids. A group of us decided to try it out Sunday and we did not regret it. Despite being a brewery, my choice of drink to battle the heat was a summer sangria. Served ice-cold, the sweet citrus quenched the thirst of Sunday's afternoon heat.
Their food menu doesn't fall short either. It's a great place to grab a pizza. For my meat lovers, try their Crispy Pig, full of pepperoni, prosciutto, ham, and to top it off, basil; it adds a quirky mix of sweetness with a hidden minty flavor that compliments the saltiness of the meat. If the first one doesn't work for you, try the Beer-B-Q, an excellent twist on your typical, cliche, BBQ pizza. Exchange the chicken for pulled pork, with its caramelized onions and bits of smoked bacon that'll surely create a savory revolution. Lastly, my favorite of the three. The Aloha Goat, a mouthwatering pizza with a bundle of ingredients that'll explode inside your mouth. Its crispy thin crust, topped with authentic grilled pineapples, sausage, and its secret weapon, goat cheese.
If you're not sold by this point, and the beer and the pizza haven't done its magic, the harmony brownie will convince anyone (especially the chocolate lovers) that Harmony Hall is one of the best food and drink joints in town. Grab a double chocolate brownie, layered with a toasty, melted marshmallow. Don't forget to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, the highlight of any dessert, and with that, Bon-Appetite!
