Hed verythai had been on my wishlist for a while, and was totally worth the hype! They were mostly empty on a Sunday (early) evening, and our party of 5 got seated right away. The interior was spacious, with rustic decor and a casual ambiance. For drinks, I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, which was tasty - very standard. For food, most of the menu consisted of "sets", which included 6 items, one of which was dessert. I chose Set 03 (Chicken) and upgraded the Thai Style Papaya Salad to the Shrimp Herbal Salad. It was a great way to try a little bit of everything, for a reasonable price!
The Gang Gai Massaman was so flavorful and went great with the 3 colors of rice. The Shrimp Herbal Salad was also fantastic, and definitely had a bit of a kick to it. I loved the Tomkha hed, and although it was lighter colored than the Thai-style coconut soup I'm used to, the flavor was familiar and so tasty. The Fakthong Pad butternut squash was also delicious. Initially, the set didn't look like a lot of food, but ended up being the perfect portion size to feel very full. For dessert, we got a choice of Mango or Coconut homemade pudding, and I chose Mango. I don't usually love gelatinous desserts, but this one was very good. I definitely liked the Mango more than my friends' Coconut one. Service was fast and friendly, and we had a great dinner overall - would return!
