Best Raleigh Coffee Shops for a Jolt of Caffeine | Eater Carolinas

"The pink espresso machine is the first sign that this place is special. Heirloom is part coffee shop, part tea house, and part Laotian, Taiwanese, and Japanese restaurant. Kick off the morning with a latte made with the in-house brown sugar five-spice blend or a hojicha latte, a Japanese specialty made with roasted green tea and milk. Stick around for lunch for the Lao grilled chicken bowl. Dinner is also served Wednesday through Sunday nights, making this a spot that can be enjoyed any time of the day." - Elliott Harrell

We tried this place for the first time and we loved it. Service was exceptional and friendly. The food was delicious and the coffee smooth. We will definitely be back for more! The place can fill up fast so come early:)

Google
Very pretty aesthetic, friendly staff that brings your order to you outside if you sit there. Despite a line almost out the door, my friend and I were helped quickly and hardly waited. Delicious coffee and mochi waffle with generous cream and strawberries. Looking forward to coming back and trying something else!

Google
A unique and interesting downtown lunch and dinner eatery. I went during lunch and didn't really know what to expect since I had only seen it on social media and decided to try it for myself. Fun and interesting teas, matcha and coffee. The menu was almost like Asian fusion? They even have things you can purchase on the shelves to enjoy later.

Great food and superb customer service! I love the chicken pourage with eggs, garlic, ginger, onion leaf, and sweet & spicy sauce! It reminds me of the food in my home country Philippines called "Lugaw" very similar. Super delicious! Highly recommended! Will definitely be back for more soon👍

After staying in Raleigh for the weekend, we were able to acclimate to the food climate in the downtown area and overall very impressed with the options. Our visit to heirloom was for brunch, it is in a nice location with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bike racks. The Japanese omelet over rice was an incredible dish that satisfied the morning appetite. The sauce was salty and sweet and complemented the kewpie mayo and egg perfectly. Such an incredible dish that is so simple as well. The breakfast baguette was also a hit, great quality bread and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. Unfortunately, I was in the mood for a donut so I tried the mochi gluten free donut they had. This was the biggest mistake of my trip, it was the worst donut I’ve had the misfortune of putting in my mouth. The texture was so tough and the flavor was even worse. Stick to gluten donuts. I still give this place 5 stars since the main dishes were that good, cool place and decent price.

Google
Heirloom has been my top favorite coffee and tea shop in Raleigh for years! But I just recently discovered their dinner setup. The service was incredible: perfect first date, valentines, anniversary or just a cozy dinner spot. The highlight of our night was one of the staff members running out to get tonic to serve us a drink we wanted to try. They really go above and beyond for their customers there. The food was incredible and carefully selected to entertain your taste buds. The casual dinner we planned turned into an enjoyable experience full of new flavors that made our night!

Brunch is delicious. A lot of tasty options. The chicken biscuit is one of a kind. The chicken itself is a standout part of the dish. Crispy, flavorful breading coats the melt in your mouth chicken. The ice cream in the honey butter toast was heavenly. A beautiful combo. The Sando was delectable! The softness and thickness of the bread held the papaya slaw and other ingredients well. The papaya slaw works well to balance the bite. I’ve never had figs infused in my cocktail before. I wasn’t aware how well gin pairs with fig and honey. Nonetheless, it is a drink I’d order again.

Google
Service was quick and polite with some cool coffee (tea) shop vibes, but don’t miss out on the awesome food they are serving up! Our group had a little of everything and while I loved it all, my favorites were the crying tiger steak, the morning glory stir fry, and the buttered noodles! The tofu was a stand out as well, great flavor and so crispy! Dessert was delicious too with a matcha affogato to round it out. Can’t wait to try more on the menu! Great find!

Yelp
The ONLY COFFEE SHOP WITH LACTOSE FREE MILK COFFEE DRINKS in all of Raleigh!!!! Finally authentic Milk Coffee (Cappucinos, Lattes, Cafe Oles, etc) for those who suffer from lactose intollerance. I go back and forth between Europe and US a lot... When I am in Europe, I find that every coffee shop has both regular lactose milk and lactose free dairy based milk. And they may have one or two non-dairy. So, I can actually enjoy the real taste of Milk based Coffees as they were originally designed. In the US, we have anywhere form 4-8 options for non-dairy and standard milk products for use in cappucinno, latte etc. Majority of these non-dairy options signficantly ALTER the taste of coffee products so dramatically that the taste is a huge miss. And in some cases they options are a huge no-no for diabetics. The joy of coffees you get in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Nordic countries, versis what we get in the United States is a huge miss, unless you are able to drink regular milk in 99.9% of coffee shops. And when I asked mostly mom-and-pop shops if they would add the lactose free options, their attitude is no... its not that popular. It is NOT popular becuase it is not an option you provide us. And generations of folks are beign trained to drink weird tasting Milche Cafe. Oddly, real lactose free milk is as common as regular milk in grocery stores. Go figure. Well... HEIRLOOM HAS LACTOSE FREE MILK... Real Dairy Milk. Those of us that are lactose intollerant (to the sugar NOT the Protein) are in heaven. I can actually finally get the real taste of Cappucino, Latte's, Cafe Ole, Matcha Latte, and so much more with these guys. I am in heavan. I make a point to come at least once a week just to drink their Lactose Free Milk based Capuccino/Matcha Latte. So... please go and ask for Lactose fee milk option for your cappucinos and lattes. So happy!

Yelp
Friendly service, chill vibes, delicious food. I consider myself a pretty big eater and I ordered both the heirloom breakfast baguette sandwich which was a pleasant surprise but wasn't as filling as I would have liked. It's a reasonable amount of food with a little bit of kick from the chili crisp and a nice sweetness and creaminess from the kewpie mayo and the soft scrambled eggs inside. I didn't expect to like this as much as a did and ordered it at the barista's recommendation. He described it as a very huge sandwich and said it was really good. The Taiwanese fried chicken rice bowl was also a winner. The chicken was so perfectly fried and crispy while still being tender and juicy on the inside. I will say, it felt like it could have done with about 4 more popcorn chicken in there and more cabbage as well. I mean I get it. Things are expensive. Inflation and what have you. I recommend having it with the kewpie maybe and chili crisp. Apparently the sweet chili sauce is the most popular choice as well as the kewpie with chili crisp. Can't really go wrong with either. My friend ordered some sort of iced passion fruit tea type beverage and the pumpkin waffle. She said both were good and that she was stuffed afterwards. I ended up also ordering another Taiwanese fried chicken rice bowl to-go as well as the pork belly sandwich. Both were good but the pork belly is a bit too saucy for our taste. My husband found it to be more than enough food but maybe I was just especially hungry that day. They've also got an array of various teas, coffee, sakes, beers, chocolates, and other cute snacks and gift type of things oh the shelf to your left when you first walk in.

Yelp
I recently stopped by Heirloom Cafe, and let me just say, the Lao Fog is a must-try! This drink is bursting with flavor - rich, creamy, and a bit of magic in a cup. It's one of those rare finds that makes you want to come back just for another sip. A small heads-up: the kitchen is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so if you visit on those days, you're limited to a selection of pastries. While I missed out on their full menu, the pastries were still tasty and paired perfectly with my Lao Fog. Definitely worth the visit, and I'll be back to try more.

Yelp
Holy cow, this place! It's so cute! Indoor and outdoor seating! They are so busy but still quick, super sweet, smiling workers! The food was far above expectations! We had the chicken biscuit... wow I had no idea I was missing an Asian chicken biscuit in my life... everything about it was amazing! My boyfriend loved his breakfast baguette, they were very generous with the egg. I'd drive 6 hours back just to eat here again!

Yelp
Nice people, busy spot. Nicely decorated. Iced vanilla latte is really good! Daughter liked the vibe and loves to try local spots while in town. Construction taking place in the area means the parking is a bit of a pain.

Yelp
Definitely enjoyed my visit here. The restaurant was clean and open. The interior design is beautiful. Lots of natural light in here that I thoroughly enjoyed. The food was delicious. They had a pasta with aged parmesan that was perfection but unfortunately was a temporary menu item. The braised crab claws were ok but the flavor wasn't something I was in love with. Crispy shrimp was perfectly crunchy, the dipping sauce with it is SPICY! So be warned! I love that they offer both small and large plates. Service was quick and good was served hot. The staff checked in regularly to make sure we didn't need anything. A cute restaurant for your small snack needs or big meals alike.

Yelp
We went to Heirloom for the first time on Saturday night and we were impressed. My wife and I stopped by for small plates but I chose a dessert instead. That was the best dessert so far I get in the triangle until now. I really appreciate the taste who were surprising for a dessert cause it was sweet and salty. Spicy, crunchy, creamy at the same time. So at the bottom it was some sweet red bean sauce, the biscuit was in shape of Cannoli, on the top there were vanilla ice Cream and hot pepper chili oil. Une vraie petite fête ! We met the chef brifly who tell us it's looks good on the picture but it tastes even better ;) The place was chic with a good location in Downtown Raleigh.

Yelp
Wanted to stop by during my time in Raleigh, as I heard this was a pretty cool Asian spot to check out, and it definitely was worth! This brew shop has really lovely vibes and a modern chique aesthetic, with the combination of nice lighting, wood furniture and ceiling structures, and plants around the shop. It's a really nice place to come chill with some friends, or bust out your laptop and do some work! Bathrooms were also clean so that's a plus. My friends really enjoyed their drinks, and I enjoyed the pastries I had; reasonably priced and tasted very fresh. I think it's also really cool that they have some shelf goods for sale, including various types of coffee grounds and Asian snacks, even Momofuku chili oil!

Yelp
Love everything about this place! Their menu is high quality, the staff goes out of their way to provide great service, the ambiance is calm even when it gets packed. I love the way they decorated this cafe! Very earthy, clean & modern. They have strong wifi and plenty of outlets for you to work. There is only garage or street parking. Will be making this my new go-to. I look forward to coming back to try their dinner menu!

Yelp
We stopped by this cute coffee shop for a pick me up. With a wide variety of teas and coffees to choose from, Heirloom hits the spot. I loved my hot "Xieng Khouang" Lao Fog Latte which was amazing and super tasty - it tastes like a sweet variant of an iced Thai tea, but in a steamed hot form. If I lived in Raleigh, I would come back just for this drink. I also tried the orchid oolong, which was less impressive. The shop also sells a variety of Asian snacks/condiments and tea/coffeeware which could be great gifts. Shoutout to the sole barista who worked on President's day, she was totally manning the shop herself and 100% was keeping that coffee shop afloat and running. Someone should give her a raise if they haven't already.

Yelp
We've been to Heirloom before for coffee/tea and mochi donuts (freaking delicious), but never for dinner! Then I discovered their dinner menu with delicious-sounding Asian inspired dishes and came running back to try them. We started out with small plates: crab claws and popcorn chicken. The crab claws were soaked and cooked in a salty, umami, buttery sauce and felt like a fun take on seafood chicken wings - There wasn't much meat in the claws, so we savored every bite we could get. The popcorn chicken had an incredibly crispy coating and was not greasy at all (which I really appreciate) - There was some warming spice in the chicken coating which took me by surprise, but not in a bad way! The waiter brought us a side of jeow som to dip the chicken in (in addition to the sweet chili sauce it came with), and I loved the spiciness and acidity this added when you dipped the chicken in it. For large plates, we ordered the Lao grilled chicken and crispy mapo tofu. The grilled chicken thighs were juicy and had great char flavor on the skin. The chicken drippings rice that came with the chicken was cooked to perfection and was the perfect addition to the chicken, along with the sriracha sauce it came with. The mapo tofu dish was also great - The mushrooms were crispy and the tofu was semi-crispy (the sauce took away some of its crispiness) and soaked in a delicious chili oil sauce, though I would have preferred a bit more spice here. The ambiance inside the restaurant is unmatched - I love the modern feel with the wooden paneling, greenery, and addition of sparkle lights against the back wall. The service was wonderful as well. Our server had great suggestions and descriptions of the food. I can't wait to come back here and try more of the dishes! Next time I will definitely save room for dessert

Yelp
I went for their 1 year dinner anniversary wine pairing dinner and it was amazing! The courses were each large portions and the staff was so knowledgeable. The wine maker and chef both came around to tables and made you feel like you were part of the heirloom family! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This has got to be one of the prettiest cafes/restaurants in Raleigh. The decor is so pretty and I love all the plants and open windows. That vibe made for the perfect work spot. I have to say that I can no longer make a regular breakfast sandwich after having this baguette- it was SUPERB. The fluffy eggs, the seasoned mayo, and the hint of spice was literally addicting! I enjoyed my matcha as well but may try adding a syrup next time for enhancement. I also loved how they brought all the items to you and very quick even though they were busy since there was an event going on. All in all this is a must try spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute cafe with great coffee and service! I found this place near my office & ended up coming here every day for a latte. Turnaround is quick -- I spent maybe 5 minutes at most waiting for my drink. The barista is friendly and remembered my order after a couple of days. I got hot and cold oat milk lattes. The serving size of the hot drinks are on the smaller side, but I liked the size of my iced lattes. The espresso has a great flavor, and I never had a bad brew here. Lots of people were working from their laptops in here throughout the day. There might be some competition for tables during peak hours. I'll be back here the next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Yelp
We've visited Heirloom several times since our last review and have fallen in love with the cafe! We're big fans of their Hojicha Latte, which is perfectly rich, sweet, and smoky. For food, we've tried the Heirloom Breakfast Baguette, consisting of scallion eggs, bacon, kewpie mayo, cheese, and chili oil in a khao jee roll. The sandwich was delicious and super flavorful! The eggs were seasoned perfectly and worked well with the other sandwich components. Probably the best cafe food we've had! Overall, a top tier cafe in the Triangle!
google avatar

Maggie L.

Yelp
While the inside of the place is adorable and the staff was friendly and welcoming, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a top spot for coffee. The coffee we ordered was a bit watered down and not worth the price, but the food options smelled amazing and could be worth checking out in the future. Overall, it's a cute little spot that may be worth visiting for its charming decor and friendly staff, but I wouldn't recommend it as a top coffee spot in town.
google avatar

Brooke B.

Yelp
Went back again today, just love this place and service is exceptional! The cappuccino is a must! Can't wait to go back when I come visit Raleigh again.
google avatar

Yelp
Was shocked at how good my chicken biscuit was. It was 12 bucks but totally worth it! Yes I will be back. I wanted to try a place I have never been and this was such a good find! Amazing
google avatar

Tanvi G.

Yelp
Stopped into heirloom to grab a quick bite for breakfast. I was impressed by the beautiful natural decor, and modern-Asian menu. I ordered the heirloom breakfast baguette which was absolutely delicious!
google avatar

Reed B.

Yelp
Dinner review: No complaints. They are keeping some old Humble Pie dishes alive and the atmosphere is excellent. Servers are on point, friendly and prompt. Excited to get back and try more stuff, best dinner I have had on the west side of town in awhile.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
Heirloom is definitely the best coffee shop food in Raleigh. Creative, delicious and so many options! The staff is super helpful and it's also a beautiful spot - the interior is so pretty! Favorites - dry cappuccino, cold brew, breakfast baguette (a must order) and for lunch their Laotian chicken is incredible. We've also had dinner here and cannot believe they do dinner so well too! If you liked the sadly closed Humble Pie, there are some similar dishes with an Asian flair and so much more. A true Raleigh gem!

Yelp
After arriving at the Raleigh Union Station, I took to the street to find a little coffee shop to relax in. We happened by this one and it looks super cute and fun so we stopped by. I ordered the Brown sugar 5 spice iced latte with oat milk. It was super yummy and very "spicy". The barista was kind and quick and brought my coffee to my table. The atmosphere was super chill and cute. The wood artwork on the ceiling was extremely fun and felt stylish. The music was jazzy and added to the ambiance. They had outlets to charge your phone/laptop as well. Perfect spot to relax a bit after the train ride.
google avatar

Nicole N.

Yelp
This place is very beautiful and spacious with delicious and flavorful Taiwanese food. I got the hojicha latte. The staff is also super friendly.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
This coffee shop is conveniently next to a parking garage right near the station. My friend and I were impressed by the light and airy interior. I ordered the Hojicha iced latte with oatmilk, and my friend got the Chai latte. We both loved our drinks; I had never had a Hojicha latte before, and this drink opened me up to a new flavor I never knew could taste so good. There is a water dispenser available for free water and plenty of comfortable seating. This seems like a great place to study/work or hold meetings. They also sell sake and other merchandise.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Excellent coffee shop that also has a small food menu. I tried the Lao fog latte, which was awesome - tasted like Thai iced tea, but hot - as well as the Taiwanese fried chicken and salted plum moon cake. The chicken was good, though a little hard to eat because it was one big slab as opposed to individual pieces. Definitely will be back for more drinks (I need to actually try the coffee)!
google avatar

Amit M.

Yelp
INTRO: Heirloom café is a specialty coffee and tea house in Raleigh specializing in Laotian and Taiwanese drink Xieng Khuoang Lao fog ($6): It's a classic Lao tea, brewed espresso-style over sweetened condensed milk, Its orange in color. You won't be disappointed. They have other speciality drink toos Parking: Since this is located near Raleigh union station, parking can be an issue. If you don't get street parking, there is a paid parking lot down the street. Ambience and Service: The place is clean and well maintained. They have indoor seating, bar style seating and cozy sofas. The ambience is modern and cool. They do have some tables and chair for outdoor seating.
google avatar

Sahib G.

Yelp
I loved coming to Heirloom to get a pot of tea and work. Came here recently post covid and they've started serving tea in to-go cups. The lack of the glass pot and cup has totally ruined the tea drinking experience. I hope they bring back the teapot and cup soon.
google avatar

Stella Y.

Yelp
I came here on the one day they don't sell food (Wednesday) even though that's what I intentionally came for. I ended up getting an iced lao fog which was something unique on the menu. It's like a thai tea mixed with a bit of five spice to give it a little bit of umami. I don't think this would be my go to drink (just personal preference) but the quality was really good and tasted really smooth. They also had other trinkets and snacks you can buy on the side as well. Overall a cute place but I wish I knew about how they didn't sell food on certain days.

Paco C.

Yelp
Some of the most impressive collections of tea and coffee I can find in this area. Coupled with delicious and inventive food in a cool comfortable space. I love coming here for a quick coffee or a whole dinner service. The people are very accommodating and helpful too.
google avatar

Raven G.

Yelp
Nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! I loved everything about my visit to Heirloom. Easy street parking in the area. The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful architecture on the ceiling, the huge plants, and that bubblegum espresso machine! I had a whole photoshoot in my mind haha. The breakfast sandwich and coffee drinks we had were delicious, unique, and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and personable. I also enjoyed looking at different Asian food and drink products while we waited. I cannot wait to be a regular here - do yourself a favor and check it out!
google avatar

Sandy S.

Yelp
Lovely Coffee Shop! Love the interior! Ordered a Cortado, and it was delicious! Love their Merch variety. From all the various teas, sakes, beer and coffee that they have to offer. Can't wait to try this place in the PM and taste their drinks as well as their food.

Jaclyn P.

Yelp
Dominic was so amazing, ambiance was busy but calm and the coffee.... Perfection. Dominic did a rose ginger cinnamon latte and rose vanilla for us.
google avatar

Ivan S.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday morning for some coffee and breakfast and overall were a bit underwhelmed by the place. Interior is very pretty, if I were to describe in one word I'd say it's chic. Bright and white, with pink and wood accents, chill music playing, there's just something about it. Anyway breakfast menu only had a breakfast baguette, overnight oats, gravy + baguette, and nori fingerlings. That's it. Can't be full from nori or gravy, personally I'm not a fan of oats, so that left me with breakfast baguette as the only choice, so I skipped the meal. Ended up just grabbing cold brew. I went for a standard 16oz cold brew with brown sugar & 5 spice flavor which apparently they make in-house. It was good but not the best coffee and I didn't taste my flavor at all (and no, I don't have covid.) I don't like nor expect it to have fifty pumps of flavor like at Starbucks, no, but there was seriously not a hint of flavor, just coffee. My partner got large cold brew with caramel and it tasted exactly same as mine, just cold brew with cream. Part of me thinks they must have forgotten to add the flavor, honestly. Cold brew itself was good but not the best, there are better coffee spots in downtown if you're about coffee. I very much enjoyed the vibe here but sadly won't go out of my way to visit this spot again.
google avatar

Arielle S.

Yelp
I walked in at 11:08AM and they stop serving breakfast at 11 AM and they offered to make me the breakfast baguette anyways and boy am I glad they did because it was delicious! The sandwich was creamy, the eggs had scallions in them, and the bacon was crispy, with a spicy sauce. Really good depth of flavor. I also tried the matcha rice crispy treat and that was so soft and yummy. The ice latte was also delicious. I definitely recommend. It is quiet and lots of tables to pull up a laptop and work for a few hours.
google avatar

Lori S.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I'm reviewing this for the breakfast food. As just a place to get tea/coffee, I may have rated it higher. We were looking for a breakfast place and this seemed to be ideal. It was fairly bright with natural lighting, and a fair number of tables for a tea shop. I saw several solo people working at the tables on their laptops. They also had tables outside if you are brave enough to withstand the heat. The breakfast was just not good. The choices were extremely limited, and didn't sound very appetizing. My travel companion settled on a cheese scone (which she said tasted like straight Parmesan) and I had a dry, crumbly muffin likely there for days. On a positive note, I had the lavender chamomile tea, and it was good.
google avatar

Megan P.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe! I tried their matcha latte and it was so creamy! They also have delicious hot lattes, and I loved the decor. Also right around the corner is a cute area for photos as well!
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
What a gem. This place literally checks all my boxes. It's aesthetic, bright, has great drinks AND food, and...it's perfect. I found Heirloom on Yelp/Instagram, and I'm so glad that I chose to visit for my last day in the Durham area. I wish I could bring this place to Austin with me, but it's definitely somewhere I'll keep in the back of my mind for when I visit again. I ordered their egg salad sando, chicken congee, and vanilla iced latte. Food came out pretty quickly. Their vanilla iced latte was alright, and I have had better. However, their food is so delicious. I loved their egg salad sando. They make their chips in-house, toast the bread, and the egg salad is seasoned perfectly. Their chicken congee is INCREDIBLE. It's weird to rave about congee, but they put a lot of chicken, green onion, and garlic flakes into the congee so that every bite is very flavorful. They also include homemade hot chili oil, and it's actually really spicy! I love this place. 5 stars for me.
google avatar

Samira A.

Yelp
This is my favorite coffeeshop since I moved to Raleigh. the vibe is so relaxing and I love how the coffee shop is decorated. I have not ate the food here nor have I tried the beer, but the coffee and customer service is 10/10.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Great environment and terrific service. Very welcoming and warm coffee shop with plenty of room to sit and chat for a meeting or to get online for a bit and work. Coffee is also great - pretty important, eh? Lavender cappuccino was on the money. Good spot. Stop by if you are in the vicinity.
google avatar

Lan Z.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and ordered 2 espresso-based drinks and a few warm breakfast items. Be prepared to wait a little as everything is made to order. It was certainly worth the wait! My caramel cappuccino was perfection; just the right amount of subtle sweetness. We enjoyed our warm Asian inspired breakfast, though I wish there were more options. It looks like their menu has more options for lunch. They have ample seating inside and also some tables outside (with a view of the train station across the street).
google avatar

Dolly U.

Yelp
Caramel flavor cappuccino was great! And the breakfast baguette was delicious, and the service was amazing. Clean place and friendly faces. Will definitely go back when back in Raleigh!
google avatar

Kong L.

Yelp
Heirloom is a pretty sweet space located by the train station. It's quite easy to miss because the road can be busy at times. I've heard of this coffee shop, pass by all the time, and never knew it was here. There are a good amount of chairs and desks for customers, the coffee is delicious, and the wi-fi is fast. The atmosphere is beautiful -- modern design all around. I wish this was my house! Big glass windows with the sun shining in and quite nice when the sun sets too. The menu sounds amazing and can't wait to try everything. My 5-spice latte was good! I'll be back for more!
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Heirloom Brewshop was my first stop in Raleigh and it was a very lovely welcome - a great place to park for a few hours to get some work done. Ambiance: very modern, yet soft and relaxed atmosphere. Not much noise though, so I wouldn't suggest taking any calls or first dates here. Menu: love the Asian influence on the menu, recognized dishes I eat at home with my parents. Admittedly, it felt random for the 'coffee house' vibe, but also, it's alright for an Asian-owned business to exist without "traditional oriental decor" (red, gold, etc). More of this please! Cost: exactly what you would expect for a place that looks like this

Ruthie B.

Yelp
Cute spot in downtown Raleigh. I remote work from this spot twice in the week I visited the city and it is a bit of a hit or miss. In terms of location, I love how close it is to everything as the kitchen is closed every Wednesday so I was able to walk to the food court up the street. There are plenty of outlets all around so you can charge your devices regardless of where you sit. However, the first day I was there doing work, the noise wasn't too bad. It was actually on the low end compared to some of the coffee shops I've been to but the second and third time, it felt like a club.

Yelp
My spouse and I have been trying a new coffee shop every Sunday. So far, heirloom has been at the top of our list for our favorites. We didn't try any food but the lattes were tasty. Will def be back!

Yelp
This Asian cafe was extremely yuppie. The menu offered some intrigue, and I was quite satisfied with my hojicha latte (roasted green tea with an appropriately brown color and nutty flavor). I had to wait a bit for my breakfast, but landed a rather Southern-looking biscuit alongside some soft pureed curry tofu. It was an odd combo, but it worked well enough. The place was bright and airy with indoor and outdoor seating, and vegetarian/vegan options were there. Pricey, but I was happy with what I got.

Yelp
Super cute decor and spacious shop! They have many yummy lunch options even tho I didn't get to try many any due to gluten sensitivity. Food: mochi doughnut and matcha latte Parking: street parking and paid parking lot Area: in downtown Raleigh with some walkable things in the area

Yelp
Came in for just a simple iced coffee on a stroll downtown. I asked for just a splash of cream and got entirely too much. Although milky-er than I normally like, still good coffee. Will definitely be back to try others
