Greek Inspired Cultured Dairy
"This space was a butcher shop before Alex Apostolopoulos, one of the founders of market stand–turned–megabrand Ellenos Yogurt, gutted it and turned it into a sleek new yogurt shop decked out in white and blue tiles. The new product sold here is creamier than gelato, smoother and less sweet than ice cream, cultured like yogurt but definitely not yogurt. It’s a great treat on hot days and there’s a huge variety of rotating flavors, many of which draw on ingredients from the market. If you don’t like chocolate or sweet flavors, try the refreshing, tea-based Seattle Fog." - Harry Cheadle
"For a very long time, the only frozen yogurt you could get at the market was from an industrial soft serve machine that probably just pumped out regular ice cream. Now there’s Hellenika’s cultured gelato in flavors like lemon curd, dutch chocolate, and coconut ube (our favorite). From the team behind Ellenos, this custardy stuff is well worth almost tripping on all of that cobblestone to get there. It’s textbook frozen Greek yogurt, with a sour tang and subtle sweetness. Watch them churn the probiotic goods in front of your face before a stroll along the waterfront." - aimee rizzo
"This newish spot, from one of the co-founders of Seattle yogurt empire Ellenos, churns out “cultured gelato.” This creamy, frozen delight could technically be called froyo due to the tangy cultured base, but it has a blessedly higher, gelato-level fat content. It comes in sophisticated flavors like honey macadamia and vanilla malt." - Sophie Grossman, Eater Staff
"Yes, it's technically frozen Greek yogurt, as evidenced by Hellenika's sour tang and subtle sweetness—but this custardy stuff from the team behind Ellenos is better than most ice cream shops in town, and well worth almost tripping on all of that Pike Place cobblestone to get there. It’s textbook frozen Greek yogurt, with a sour tang and subtle sweetness. Watch them churn the probiotic goods in front of your face in flavors like lemon curd, marionberry, dutch chocolate, and ube coconut (our favorite)." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"At one point, Ellenos Greek Yogurt would have been a mandatory stop if you were at Pike Place and snooping around for something sweet. But they closed their market shop, and you can easily pick it up at virtually any airport kiosk. Instead, we’re sending you to Hellenika Cultured Creamery. This frozen Greek yogurt shop in Pike Place is from former Ellenos co-founders, and the dessert in question has a sour tang and subtle sweetness that gets churned right in front of you. It’s the perfect ice cream-adjacent thing to eat after walking past the fish market and just barely dodging a king salmon to the head." - Aimee Rizzo, Kayla Sager Riley
