"Charlotte’s Ballantyne area is trying to make a name for itself, and one way it’s doing that is by bringing a chic rooftop bar and restaurant to the neighborhood. And the suburban moms and dads are loving it. Hestia’s rooftop looks out into panoramic South Charlotte skies and, subsequently, South Charlotte construction, but it does the trick. Sharing the plates (and the check) here is the way to go, especially the house sushi rolls, like the Kazan roll dotted with wasabi oil or the $30 Hestia roll with tempura shrimp and shaved truffle. The oysters come kissed with a bit of yuzu jelly and pops of salmon roe, making for an extra briny bite, in the best way." - Kayleigh Ruller

Enjoyed a nice evening with some friends on the rooftop patio. The sushi and fish special were great and the service was good. A bit pricey, but there only a few places in Charlotte that offer that type of view.

Went to this rooftop for drinks and light food for a friend’s birthday. The view carries this place hard. I was not impressed with the Moscow Mules and Espresso Martinis that I ordered, especially for the price point. The sushi was decent, but definitely something you could get for half that price at any other sushi joint worth their salt. Overall, it’s a great venue to meet with friends and share a stunning view with. There are better places to take your money dining wise. Service was unorganized and scattered as well.

Excellent food but the operations and service leave much to be desired. We were celebrating a friend's birthday so we had a large group (10) but they won't seat you until everyone is there. Fair enough but as we waited for people to get through parking lot maze they threatened to give our table away at every turn. I felt very reprimanded and the directional signage from the deck to the restaurant was less than clear. Then they only allow a 4 way split of checks, which is just annoying. It is hard to believe that in this world of AI they can't get a POS system that can accommodate large groups. Now the food was spectacular! That is the only thing (aside from great company) that made up for the logistical and policy headaches. I had the ribeye special that was so tender and seasoned to perfection. The crab dip, seafood tower, wagyu meatballs and scallop roll were all amazing. I also tasted the seabass and it was wonderful. I probably won't be back because you don't get to take my money and reprimand me too, but if you go for a meal you won't be disappointed! UPDATE-there are enough reviews across platforms that express frustration with the policies and logistics (accompanied by the restaurant’s replies which give you the reprimand vibes I mentioned). Typically if over a certain percentage of the party has arrived, restaurants will seat you because the table size wouldn’t be substantially impacted. But if 75% of the party is waiting to be seated because the last diners are lost in the parking maze, then of course the seating time would be even later. I was not the holder of the reservation and I did not pay, so to go to the trouble of identifying my party to try and defend post tells you all about the level of petty we are dealing with here 😉. All in all good food, but I routinely get better and more respectful service elsewhere.

Make your reservations now for that special occasion! Lovely experience with friends around our anniversary. Rooftop ambiance at sunset, can't ask for a better night. We order so many things to sample. We made reservations in advance but did not commit to the experiences offered since first-time visiting. Now we will book an experience. We enjoyed the sea bass, super buttery and slight crisp to the exterior. I am a sucker for Duck Bao buns, and these were well worth it! Meatballs and waygu fried rice are full meal options if going lighter. The sushi options are too long to list. Drink options: If you can think of it, they can make it (i.e, lychee or cucumber martini). Plan ahead and check out the options before reserving. Be sure and take your best friend and enjoy a lingering evening in food paradise with the perfect sunset.

Google
This place is absolutely amazing! We went here for a date and everything from the drinks to the dessert was phenomenal! Highly recommend the curry crab dip and all the rolls we had were Devine. They even have an in house pastry chef so definitely indulge in a sweet treat!

Google
We hosted our company holiday party in the private room. Our servers, Sean and Alex, were THE best servers I have ever experienced for a group event. We had 22 guests in our group, and every guest felt attended to with drinks, food, etc. The food was excellent, and everything was cooked perfectly. The kitchen accommodated our guests with allergies, and made it a pleasant experience for everyone. We had a private event menu, but I definitely want to go back for their regular menu. It is a beautiful restaurant and a great experience.

Google
Absolutely the best sushi I’ve had in this state! The atmosphere is beautiful, everything is spotless, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ve visited multiple times and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves quality sushi and great service!

Google
This is hands down the best restaurant I've been to in CLT! The service was excellent! Our servers were polite and checked in on us every few minutes. They had their own IG page with pictures and videos of almost every dish. The atmosphere is top tier with CLT Skyline views from almost every desert in the restaurant. The food!!!!!........ Every dish that we tried was mind-blowing! The flavors that the chefs were able to produce were top-tier, and the quality of the food is unmatched!!! Our leftovers were even better!!!

Yelp
kitty is amazing we had the best time. The view is amazing and the service was attentive and fast but personal

Yelp
The best!!! Go sit at the bar at Hestia! Kitty, Cam and John will take great care of you. Every recommendation has exceeded expectation. This is our new favorite spot. Best ambiance around.

Yelp
Killer menu with even better views! Food 5/5: every item we tried we truly loved. The small portions were perfect for group shareables. Drink 5/5: I got their gin cocktail. It was tasty and very strong. Service 3/5: our server got over sat right after we ordered and we pretty much didn't see her the rest of the evening. We had to chase down staff just to get water and our bill at the end. She remained polite, but she was drowning in tables. Overall; a great experience and worth enduring the parking situation outside. I recommend going on a week day where they are likely to not be too busy. Totally worth it for the food and the great views of the city.

Yelp
Hestia is a beautiful location for a Birthday celebration , Date Night or just for a night out of fun. I went there for a birthday celebration for my sister this past weekend & the food was amazing. I had the wagyu fried rice Entree & I was not disappointed. The waitress we had was very friendly however ; the service she provided wasn't the best. (As I mentioned it was my sister's birthday dinner) & we had to ask multiple times for a refill of our drinks. My sister ordered an alcoholic beverage which the waitress never brought out-- however the management was very apologetic & provided a complimentary drink for her for the inconvenience. Overall the experience was great, music was great, and we had a great time! I would definitely visit again. I highly recommend the wagyu fried rice!

Yelp
Service was fantastic!!! Seabass was perfect but the Brussel Sprouts were dry. They put the sauce on the side, instead of mixed in, so that kinda helped. Love that you can see over the city which was . Some tiles on the floor were loose so that was a bit awkward because it was right at our table. Also had the HESTIA specialty sushi roll.... amazing!!!

Carmen J.

Yelp
This place have some nice views, and the food was good, but the wait was wait to long, the waitress was really nice but we have to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive and on top of that, they first brought my friends and one of my entres and then 30 minutes later the sushi, it should take that long to especially for a luxury restaurant like this. I will def not come back.

Evelyn H.

Yelp
Beautiful location for a date. Best decorated rooftop in Charlotte. Food was amazing. Our group joined us later and there were some complaints over prices, but I always believe you pay for what you get. And I got complete satisfaction out of these two wonderfully prepared dishes. Cocktails were great also. This place gets a 10 over 5

Yelp
This can be one of the coolest places with an awesome view of the city but the patio definitely needs help!! From the furniture to the slow service they need to step it up! Waited 30 min & no one came to take our drink order. I had to go the bathroom & on my way back grabbed a waitress to come take our order. The patio furniture has seen better days. Time to retire & replace. Makes it look so run down. Come on now, they make enough money to buy some new furniture. Looks awful!! When we did finally get our drinks, it was a fabulous Cosmo. At least the bartender was amazing!! Management needs to get it together!!!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
Our server Ciara P was a rockstar. She was friendly, professional and offered great recommendations for drinks, food and especially desserts. The table setting was elegant. The quality of the constructed booths and nicely lit tables shows careful planning. The staff here were all helpful and very courteous. The bar area is just as nice as the booths and tables. We came here to celebrate a birthday and had a fantastic time! Inside seating is great; but outside seating was wonderful after we finished our meal. Fire pits, spacious seating. Clean!!! An awesome view!! This is a really classy establishment. It's classy but still fun. Not stuffy at all. Everyone dressed well and put together. That's what I like to see when I go to a nice restaurant. I'd come here again and again. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks AC hotel because you did not disappoint. See you again soon.

Yelp
Tuesday Dinner. Sat at the sushi bar for apps & then had drinks at the bar after. Alex was our exceptional server (11/10 stars) & very attentive and not only that but almost the whole entire staff were so welcoming . Executive chef Eiji & Sushi chef Kap were very accommodating and also took care of us . Our tables were constantly bussed & drinks were never emptied. AGM Jackie came over to check on us and made sure we had a wonderful experience. Come and have your meal before it gets busy. Order your drinks from the bar (Nick & Kitty will take care of you !) , go to the patio & see the sunset. Will definitely be back

Yelp
I love the ambiance, it's good whether you're inside or out on the balcony. Our waiter made great food recommendations. Food and service were top notch!

Cecillia A.

Yelp
To start off, I wasn't too impress. It is also out of the way since it's not in the general area of all of the rooftop bars in uptown. Food was okay. I say the roll was good but the appetizer, I wasn't too impress with. Just basic sides for an expensive price. Drinks were actually good and comparable to other rooftop bar prices. The service was good. Front desk was greetable and waitstaff was very informative with the menu. It is located next to the AC hotel so parking you can find throughout the building. This is generally a pretty busy area so you may have to walk a distance. The place was not hard to find. You just go up the elevator and you are there. We sat outside where the mist A.C would blow on you. After a while of sitting there, my hair just got humid and become un done. I would recommend taking pictures first if you sit there before your hair gets too crazy. It seems they have a lounge area outside where you can just come as you please, like no reservations are needed so that's nice.

Yelp
Was super excited to be able to try Hestia w/a former Nobu chef. Was thrilled that Charlotte had attracted a chef w/such impressive credentials. Unfortunately, reality did not exceed or meet expectations. We started w/the Oxtail dumplings. They were pretty standard and didn't stand out as something we just had to come back and order again. After being steered away from my first choice of dishes because they were being reworked, I selected on the Waygu fried rice and the ribeye sandwich. I was quite surprised by a sandwich being 4 bite size pieces. I understand it's waygu so didn't expect a large portion but anticipated more than the equivalent of a couple of hors d'oeuvres. There was a photo that had been posted of a ribeye sandwich where it looked like half a sandwich so that was the first let down. I loved the lingonberry and the gastrique. The meat itself was alright. The waygu fried rice was okay. If the egg had been a little less done, it would have been much easier to break it apart and mix the dish together. The fish was a little dry. Hestia is like a restaurant found in Laguna or SoCal. Did not try cocktails this time but sure that would add to the vibe as well. It's a solid offering at a higher price point and is still working out some kinks.

Yelp
After discovering this beautiful spot this past fall and hanging out on the rooftop drinking overpriced wine I had really high expectations for an amazing meal. The server once again was excellent however maybe the managers should take notice when no one touches the overly dry chocolate cake being served during restaurant week. I say if restaurant week will impact the quality of your food don't participate or simply assure every aspect of the meal is top notch. The food overall was pretty good but the overall experience for many in our party was less than stellar especially those ordering the steak.

Heather V.

Yelp
Incredible service, Marvin was impeccable. Amazing ambience and music choices. The views are to die for and I love a good rooftop bar. With that being said, we're in Ballantyne and the prices were a bit steep. Drinks start at $15/16 and dinners range from $20-50. Everything we had was delicious, but highly overpriced. Potstickers for $16?? Yikes. I will be back for a drink but not for the food.

Aggie P.

Yelp
Restaurant week at Hestia with friend was great !!! Amanda & Birken was great as our servers . Food was excellent also . Filet and Salmon was great and the ChocolateCake desert topped it off . Worth all the $$$$ spent and can't wait to return when the weather is better .to enjoy the patio.

Rika T.

Yelp
Visited Hestia for the first time! We sat out on the rooftop and Jacob was our waiter. All of the food was delicious, but I loved the sushi mixed with different crabs and the waygu fried rice the most! Jacob had an amazing sense of humor and was great! The oxtail wontons were pretty good. Meatballs were tasty and the the rice just set the tone. Unfortunately, the first drink we had was fairly small. That was the lemon drop. The second drink was a little better in size. Overall I enjoyed the vibe and would recommend and return! .

Yelp
Had reservations for 2. Got there. Was seated and ignored. We left. The place was not busy whatsoever. Nice 1st impression. Do better.

Eddie C.

Yelp
This place is the place to be! Such amazing views, great electric atmosphere, great service and incredible food. So many choices from sushi to steak. The presentation is next level.

Sabah S.

Yelp
Great food and service! Would recommend the drinks and sushi. Sat outside and the view was nice.

Tina S.

Yelp
This is truly an adult energy that I loved. Great for date night or hanging with your girlfriends. I loved all the fire elements and the rooftop is exceptional. We were not planning to eat just cocktails but we ordered appetizers short rib potstickers, tempura roll, and skewered mango shrimp. I had a peach ginger beer cocktail delicious. We watched the tomahawk presentation looked delicious I think that is about $150. Then we did dessert apple tart, chai chocolate cake and sorbet. Excellent service and quality of the food and atmosphere will bring me back. There is free parking deck and reservations a must.

Carol R.

Yelp
You know, we were on the fence about coming to Hestia given the mixed reviews and higher prices. But I'm glad we decided to give it a try. First, the service was great. As soon as we stepped through the doors, the staff took good care of us. Second, the view. We sat outside and had the Charlotte skyline as our backdrop. Now to the food. Two of us split four dishes, and I would order them all again. For appetizers we had the oxtail potstickers and wagyu meatballs, which come with five pieces each. The mustard sauce with the potstickers was so good, I saved it to dip the other dishes in. Next, we tried the Hestia roll. It is a 'surf n turf' sushi roll, and I loved how the wagyu and shrimp tempura complimented each other. Finally, the koji salmon was a fairly sized entree also with a nice sauce. We left comfortably full and pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
One of the best date night spots in Ballantyne . Love the ambience: rooftop is really chic and relaxing. However, the food can be quite hit or miss Recommended dishes: rum pineapple, and potsticj Although the fish was fresh and perfectly textured in the Salmon tartare, the sweetness of a very ripe mango overpowered the dish, and I didn't care for it . Service is OK but unremarkable. It depends on who you get, so it's likely fair to categorize it as hit or miss like the food. A fair rating would be 3 1/2 stars, but since this is one of the only rooftop options in Ballantyne and the ambience is lovely, I selected 4. Tip: asked to sit in one of the booths closer to the sushi bar, instead of under the bright lights near the window furthest from the rooftop .

Nazhat S.

Yelp
Not sure why Hestia has such mixed reviews. It's definitely a great addition to the Charlotte restaurant scene and an especially great addition to the South Charlotte area. I would recommend checking them out. The service was excellent (I think our server's name was Sean?) and food was brought out at the perfect pace for us. We ordered the wagyu tacos, tuna tartare, oysters, salmon nigiri, Hestia roll, and kazan roll. I would skip the wagyu tacos (not a fan of the hard shell) but everything else was tasty, fresh, and had a nice presentation. The vanilla butter cake was also yummy. My only complaint is that there were plenty of tables available inside yet the hostess seated us in a terrible location behind a giant pillar near the side of the bar. The other tables were available when we left and would've been more pleasant to sit at. We would've sat outside but it was raining. However, afterwards we saw that part of the outdoor area is covered and has heaters, so we chose poorly as the view looked lovely. There's a free parking garage next to the hotel and ample parking beyond that, too. It's definitely pricy but you know that going in (and if you don't...idk what to tell you--it's a hotel rooftop restaurant).

Yelp
Went here for my cousin's birthday. She mentioned that you need to give your credit card information as a security for reservations. The ambiance was very nice at night (res for 8pm), and honestly it looks so much prettier than some of the pictures I see for the day time--a great place for some photo ops if that's your kind of thing. The servers were very nice, and they were more than happy to wish my cousin a happy birthday. Our waiter, I believe his name was Alex, checked in frequently and was kind enough to bring out a little birthday dessert for my cousin and light a candle for her so we could sing. He also did the little show that came with one of the cocktails (lighting it on fire as he poured cinnamon on top). As far as the food goes, there is a lot to say. For an appetizer, my cousin and I split the golden scallop ($45 - MP), and it was probably one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. It definitely did not need the soy sauce nor any wasabi; it was perfect on its own. Honestly, I tried a small dab on soy sauce and it ruined the flavor, so I'd really recommend eating it just straight up. It was beautifully prepared, and we were more than satisfied with that portion of the meal. For an entree, I got the noodles & ocean ($57). The lobster was okay, though I'm not too much of a fan of lobster anyway. The clams were pretty darn small, some of the smallest I've seen in a restaurant. The salmon was tough, dry, and overcooked. There really wasn't enough lump crab to make a comment on the flavor, or perhaps there was enough but it was so shredded that I couldn't really get a feel for the taste. The 6-minute egg was perfect. I really wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles and broth, however. To me, they kind of tasted like regular noodles that I could get at a take-out joint. My cousin got the fillet mignon (6oz - $55). She let me have a bite and it was perfectly tender and perfectly cooked. She was a big fan of the meat. However, she mentioned that the potatoes were too firm for her liking. A friend who attended ordered the roasted duck breast ($47). He mentioned that while the meat and the sauce were great, but the broccolini was too tough and the sweet potato mash was not his favorite. I also took a bite of his duck, and while it was nice and tender, I personally was not a fan of the sauce. The dessert the brought out was a little square of what I believe to be chocolate mousse covered in chocolate. It was served with little chunks of blueberries and strawberries with crunchy shavings of (I think) a heath bar. They also served us some small flutes of champagne. All complimentary, and all appreciated. All in all, great food, but not perfect. I'd likely not get the noodles & ocean again, but I'd for sure get that golden scallop roll. I'd love to come back (when my wallet can handle it again). Overall: Unknown cocktail (cousin's rating): 10/10 Golden Scallop: 10/10 Noodles & Ocean: 7/10 Fillet mignon (cousin's rating): 9.5/10 Roasted Duck Breast (friend's rating): 8/10 Service: 10/10 Total: ~$239 (minus gratuity)

Yelp
Hestia is VIBES. We went on a Monday evening, and it could have been a Saturday for all we knew! The place was lively and folks were dressed up. The outdoor area offers great views of the Charlotte skyline and even the foothills in the distance - so unique! You can't directly see the sun setting, but the colors are beautiful. We ate inside since it was chilly that day, but there is a section of the outdoor space with heaters. Inside, there's a bar facing the outdoor area as well as a long sushi bar off to one side, in addition to tables of various sizes. To drink, I got (and enjoyed) the Matcha Cooler. My group then split the spicy edamame, oxtail potstickers, 3 sushi rolls, and chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was solid! I especially liked the potstickers and Hestia roll. Service was very helpful and attentive. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but overall I felt that pricing was pretty reasonable considering the location (and photo ops). Parking is free, at least!

Celeste K.

Yelp
Yeah this place is fancy. It's got a great view if you choose to sit outdoors. The music inside was a tad loud (top 40 hits) but after a few drinks, you won't care anymore. The staff was attentive and friendly which I appreciate. The place setting on the tables were beautiful. There's also some couches to sit on while you enjoy some sips. However they give you bamboo chopsticks wrapped in paper for takeout orders - that was odd as I expected at least some good quality chopsticks to match the quality plates and silverware, especially since this is Asian cuisine. The food is very pricey. I knew going into it that I'd spend a pretty penny here. Don't come if you're on a budget and complain about the price. Their menu is online so you know what you're getting yourself into. It's funny that people will drop lots of dough on other cuisines such as French or Italian then cry about Asian cuisine being expensive. Just saying... It's not a daily dinner kind of place but if you're looking to splurge, this is a great spot. Here's my rundown: Bone marrow - cooked perfectly and served with toast. They only give you 4 small pieces of toast which isn't enough for all the marrow. We asked for more toast and was charged for it. It should have come with enough toast to begin with. Looking at past reviews and photos, it seems like their portion got smaller in a matter of days. Gotta love inflation, huh? Live Scallop - there's not much of a description so I'm thinking it's raw scallops. Nah, it's cooked. But there's only one, not plural. The one they give you is very tasty tho. The butter sauce on the bottom is divine and the scallop itself is seared just right. Great bite. Wagyu tacos - def a table pleaser. The outside crunch along with the tender steak was delicious. It was hard to dip the taco into the sauce without destroying the whole taco as the shell just disintegrates once you touch it. There's gotta be a better way to serve this. Logistics aside, the tacos were so bomb, we ordered a second plate. Broccolini with miso butter - delicious! They top it off with fried shallots which was a perfect combination. It was cooked just right too for the perfect texture. Needless to say, I devoured it. Potstickers - they went really well with the sauce and slices of blood orange. The dough was a tad harder than I'd like but the flavors were on point. Sushi - loved it! We had a couple different rolls and a dish of salmon belly that was devoured. The sushi here is def one of my faves. The Kazan roll was my favorite. That spicy tuna is amazing. Fresh and delicious. They have an omakase on their menu which I'd love to try one day. Salmon - it took some time for this dish to come out. When it did, it was delicious. The largest portion of anything we ordered. The bok choy was a little hard to eat as the butter knife couldn't cut it properly so be warned. The teriyaki sauce it's served with along with some crispy rice was amazing. Love the texture differences and flavor. The only thing I didn't care for is the crab cakes. It was a tad dry and bland and as an entree, served alone. I def think a veggie should be added to the plate. The plating is very pretty but we asked for more remoulade sauce just to add flavor. I ended up dipping the crab cakes into the salmon's teriyaki sauce which made it much better. I took off a star for this dish alone since it's the one thing that stopped my meal from being 100% perfect. Overall, I truly enjoyed my meal here. We celebrated my friend's 40th bday and they gave us complimentary wine to toast and dessert. The wait staff made our dinner memorable and I really felt like they appreciated our patronage. Looking forward to the next special event to enjoy another lovely dinner here.

Chelsea C.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and we had an AMAZING experience! Our waitress, Amanda was fantastic. She was so friendly and personable. We enjoyed talking to her and listening to her recommendations. The food was very delicious. We ordered the Wagyu meatballs and a sushi roll. The meatballs were really good! The sushi was good but I would definitely recommend the entrees over the sushi. We ordered the duck breast and the Chilean sea bass and omg it was out of this world. We were savoring every bite! I would definitely come back here!

Torin B.

Yelp
Came here for my woman's birthday celebration & she loved every bit of it. We ordered scallops (a la carte). Two drinks I cannot remember & a order of seafood pho & miso salmon. Everything was worth it in the end. Definitely come here for a luxury experience. The rooftop & the interior inside all give off a nice aesthetic of luxury & night life.

Yelp
Today was the GRAND OPENING of HESTIA MODERN ASIAN ROOFTOP! I was so excited to attend this event because of my fascination with rooftop restaurants and bars! This new cozy and posh rooftop restaurant located on the 16th floor has it all. The vibes are definitely here with the panoramic views, fully stocked bar and steak & seafood pairings. Ambiance: This is THE NEW place for a nice dinner date, late night conversations, meet-ups over cocktails and shared meals. The aesthetics here are beautiful with plush furniture, burning flames, dim lights and romantic scenes. Drinks: A Twist on classics cocktails, wines and craft beers! Everything I tried was differently top tier. Food: This restaurant offers continental Asian cuisine, ultra-fresh seafood, humanely raised meats and desserts showcasing traditional recipes prepared by amazing, talented chefs. This will definitely be the talk of the town when it opens. We have already booked our next girls night here for next month. Enjoy

Juston J.

Yelp
Stopped by to have a causal dinner, and I was served the best Chirashi of the year! If you love authentic sushi, this is the best sushi place in Charlotte.

Dana A.

Yelp
Quick note, this review is for the rooftop bar portion of the restaurant. Because I haven't attended the actual restaurant yet, I wanted to make sure my review was read within the right context. We actually stopped through this bar after having dinner downstairs at the Blue Taj Indian restaurant with a couple of friends. We didn't arrive until after 10, and we didn't have reservations, but we were able to get up to the roof and out to the bar. I do have to say this is one of the better rooftop views in the city, especially if you catch it on a good night, which we did. This is also a very popular rooftop bar so if you don't have reservations at the restaurant, I would strongly advise calling ahead and planning on doing a bit of table and chairs stalking once you get there. There's plenty of seating and places to stand. If you don't get a seat, but the seating goes quickly. We were able to order drinks from the bar and eventually we were able to commandeer a small section where we hung out for about an hour and a half. During that time we ordered a couple of appetizers, which overall were pretty decent. Hard for me to remember what we ordered because it was late and I was already three drinks in. That being said, I was impressed enough with the food to ask for a full menu, so we could pre-plan what to order when we came back for our second visit. I am a big sushi fan, so I will definitely be returning soon to try more things out on the full menu and get the full restaurant experience, but until then, I may return for an impromptu rooftop visit. Who knows! Lol.

Yelp
First, I'd like to give a shoutout to Kevin and Lolo for providing my friend a great bday experience! They were super nice and made sure we were well cared for. For the table we ordered fried rice with tornado egg, highly recommend! Their cocktail selection was excellent as well. Overall, I'd give Hestia 10/10 and I will definitely revisit!

Yelp
Very Disappointed in the service I received here on Valentines Day. I was very excited to try this restaurant, My wife and I were staying at the hotel just below the restaurant so we thought it would be nice to make reservations at the rooftop restaurant for Valentines Day. Our reservation was at 9:30 (yes I know very late). We arrived at Hestia and were immediately sat at our table. It was our first time dining in so we were very excited. Our waiter was not welcoming at all, didn't really talk to us much, and he acted as if we were a bother to him. Soooo I order a drink for my wife (the Geisha) & We started off with the oysters and the shrimp for appetizers. Thai Chile Grilled shrimp 10/10 (decadent flavors) Oysters 9/10 (the caviar was very fresh) At this point we're uncomfortable so we just order entrees so that we can hurry up and leave. I ate the wagyu fried rice and my wife ordered the Noodles and ocean (wanted to order more but didn't feel comfortable asking about anything on the menu since the server barely talked to us). Wagyu Fried Rice 10/10 Noodles and Ocean 10/10 We were disappointed with the service not the food but ultimately the server can make or break the experience.

Yelp
Off the bat I'll tell you this place is not cheap! Nor would you expect it to be when you see the views and the interior. Nice very current vibe, great bar and sushi area. Plus it's a rooftop in Ballantyne. The service was great I have to say, even when our server wasn't sure about something he'd go find out but overall he was great to put up with 10 women! Shame it was a rainy evening so we couldn't really enjoy the rooftop, but it's really nice out there and great photo ops! They have some great wines, beers, sake and cocktails. Something for everyone. I was drawn to the Gin and Tonikku , Roku gin, ginger syrup and elderflower tonic . It comes out as a purple drink, and when you pour the tonic in, I got on the side as I don't like too much, it lightens in color, kinda cool and very pretty! Easy drink and great summertime cocktail. The dirty martini I heard was great, the wines on the table went down well too! So much to choose from food wise, and honestly probably not the best place for big groups, as you have to order many small plates to cover everyone and that's where it gets pricey. It's great for couples or about 4 people. Otherwise like us you have to order a lot of food. So having said that, here we go, the wagu tacos, one of my faves, crunchy, meaty and simple flavors. Great chili dipping oil. The scallop, well I love scallops but you get one! For $15! I got a quarter and it was good but not worth the money. The potato Pavé, also really good, sweet shallot creme fraiche was really nice accompaniment. The wagu meatballs also fabulous, such good flavor, very rich. The crudo, always another favorite, so fresh. The tuna tartare wasn't the best I've had, but decent. The sushi, and we had was all really good and great presentation. I honestly don't remember what we got as we had several, , but the hesita roll and spicy tuna rolls were my faves. You can't go wrong with the sushi though. The black cod was very sea bass like and also great presentation with the veggies, loved the roasted carrots and the black forbidden rice, different, crunchy! The Wagyu fried rice, also very tasty, meaty, and loved the egg on top , that you mix in yourself. Really enjoyed that dish. It's a great foodie experience here as there is so much variety. I'd go back in a smaller group, to try out other things and maybe be able to go outside to experience the rooftop. Very fancy and very good food and drinks. Just heavy on the pocket book.

Yelp
Hubby and I had an awesome date night and we owe it all to Hestia. Upon arriving, our reservation was confirmed by a hostess at the elevator. We arrived to the rooftop where hostesses greeted us with excitement. The vibe was electric and the restaurant is beautiful. The view was incredible and a perfect setup for a perfect night. Our waiter was Berkin, yep like the handbag. He was awesome. He suggested we start with the oysters with foi gras. I can't put the deliciousness in words. Then we had sashimi with fresh fish selected by the chef...AMAZING! The Wagyu fried rice was so so yummy and not basic at all. We ended our Hestia experience on a high note enjoying the ginger crème brûlée. Crème brûlée is my favorite dessert yet I didn't expect it to be interestingly good. If you're on the fence about going, get off and go!

Yelp
Very good food and great service. Very expensive for what it is, but still glad we went! Really beautiful roof top bar and good atmosphere.

Yelp
Went to Hestia Rooftop Restaurant in Ballantyne for the fiancé Birthday dinner. Not cheap, and it's Asian Fusion so portions are small BUT incredible food, flavors, ingredients. I'm not a sushi person at ALL so was a bit worried. But we were going for the views more than anything. However, PLENTY of options outside of sushi. Warning - some of the plates were spicy (tacos were FABULOUS but I could only eat two bites) so make sure you ask if you can do 'no spice' The views and outdoor seating are really nice! It's the tallest building in Ballantyne - I didn't realize how GREEN it is out there still, I took a video to show the view and will post here. HUGE inside! Was a bit loud music wise (I think we were under a speaker?) but not overwhelming. Service was EXCELLENT, we loved our server, Annie I believe? Very attentive and professional. Oxtail potstickers, waghyu tacos, fresh scallops, waghyu meatballs - all just absolutely fabulous! I have NEVER had scallops like that anywhere. The chef came out to talk to us, they get the scallops LIVE, and clean/prepare them on the spot. Soooo fresh and cooked perfectly. I can often only eat one - could have made a meal of these! Note: they sell them one at a time, so you pay 'per' scallop. The oxtail potstickers were a favorite! Chef said that it's a process and takes two days to prep/handmake them I believe - they are a must try! Tacos were brilliant! Seriously the flavor of the meat was awesome. They come two to a plate and are small so next time (if I can get them without heat) we will order two plates. Two dishes were the Wagyu fried rice. Not one bite left! I tasted it, was just so good. And I loved the egg (what I call Shell) - it looked like it was just a ball of egg, but you peel it back and the rice and the Wagyu are inside. The flavors are just amazing! Third dish was cod. Excellent, fresh, and over black rice which was really cool! They said they may use a red rice in the future. I had the crab cakes. I'm not a fan of caviar/fish eggs but this was excellent and NOT fishy at all - just a tiny bit of it on each crab cake. I ordered broccolini and mushroom bowl as sides for the table. LOVED THEM BOTH!!! Had ginger crème brûlée: amazing!!! They had a tiny piece of butter cake in white chocolate (free for his birthday!) and I WILL get the butter cake dessert next time we go. Yes - we will be back! We had a reservation for 4 at 5pm and it was quiet, by the time we left it was full inside and out. We don't drink so not sure of the cocktails but the bar is long, was full when we left so imagine it's wonderful as well. Nothing negative to say at all - exceptional experience and highly recommend. We went knowing it was going to be pricey - so be prepared - but worth the experience in our opinion and highly recommend for special occasions. Edited To Add: they are going to be serving brunch on Sundays starting this weekend! We definitely will try it!

Yelp
This place deserves 5 stars. Get the bluefin Crudo, WOW! We are still thinking about how incredible it was. We should have gotten two. The wagyu sampler was delicious, the sushi rolls were creative and the filet was juicy. The hummus was just okay. Very cool vibe, great service. This place makes you feel like a celebrity. 10/10 recommend and we hope to be back

Yelp
Ok so I really don't understand the hype behind this place: 1) The people behind the desk have serious attitude. I'd say outright rude. 2). You get off the elevator and it smells fishy. I love seafood, but it's bad fish. 3) You go outside and it feels unstable. The tiles all creek as you're walking around, which isn't comforting on a rooftop. 4) this place just opened and the furniture is already beat up. Scuffed, chipped, broken -- not a good look for a $5Mil buildout. 5) Service was nice, but super slow. Drinks took close to 30 minutes. 6) The food was horrible. I'd describe it as offensive. We ordered A TON, and it was hard to find anything decent. - Oysters: fine but small. - Wagyu Meatballs: ok. Didn't taste like wagyu, just average meatballs. - dumplings: the inside was average but the exterior was so dry! It had to have been sitting under a heat lamp for 10-15 minutes at least. - the toro tartare was offensive. It had definitely gone bad. The server said it was just that the cut was fatty, but as someone who eats toro weekly, it was bad. Toro isn't brown. If I had a disposable napkin, I would have spit it out. - the Crudo, I wouldn't eat after how bad the toro was. - the tomato salad was fine, but nothing spectacular. Anyone could have made that at home. - my friends described the scallop as "a $1.99 scallop from the grocery store". When it came time for entrees, I didn't want to order. A friend and I split a little piece of steak. The wagyu sando was fine but like 3 bites for $50. And the miso cod smelled horrible on the table, yet somehow tasted super bland. The wagyu tri tip was flavorless. Thank god for the salt to give it some type of flavor. I will absolutely not go back. When I say this is one of the worst experiences I've eaten in Charlotte, that would be and understatement. Even before you look at the price, it's horrendous - when you factor in the price, it might be the worst I've had in Charlotte.

Yelp
I had a very eventful day that wasn't planned. But I started off (see previous post) with getting my oil changed and then went to the Juice Shop. Then I decided to galavant to Charlotte as they had the Vintage pop up Market going on in Camp End. With all the vendors and unintentional shopping I was indeed hungry. The last time I came to Charlotte, a bartender recommended Hestia and said if I wanted a nice drink with a nice view, this was it. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the view but it was lovely with ample patio/rooftop seating. From where I was sitting on the inside it was still lovely. Just a heads up, when you put it in GPS it doesn't make sense so just know that it's a rooftop on the AC Hotel by Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne. So it's within Ballantyne Village which has an array of shops and places to eat. I was able to find parking with no problem but keep in mind I got there around 5:15 and let me tell you people are pressed about this place. The bar area is first come first served. I suggest making a reservation because it can fill up pretty quickly, especially when the weather is nice. It's on the 16th floor and I was greeted by a nice hostess who lets someone know how many are coming up in the elevator. It was just me but another party of 5 were behind me and we all went up together. It was plenty of bar seating and the chairs were comfortable. I was then greeted by my bartender Grant. Y'all! Not for nothing, go to Hestia and have Grant make your drinks. He was so delightful and attentive and had great conversation. Honestly the staff overall was very friendly and I absolutely loved the fact that they worked well together. It makes a difference when the staff is on one accord. I started off with a Smokey Sazerac and the potstickers. That definitely paired well. The menu isn't super big, this more like a light bites kind of place but it was very filling. It's a smidge pricey as they have A5 Waygu beef but overall I think it's still pretty average for what I consider an upscale bar. The atmosphere was inviting and I can easily see how someone could spend hours there. I was almost there for 2 and I didn't notice. The bar is very busy but the staff was at a great pace. I never saw a drink just sitting at the bar. They are very efficient. Then I later had an old fashioned and spider roll. The spider roll is to die for and I think it's a must try. And lastly, I had the ginger crème brûlée. I don't know what they did but that crème brûlée was amazing. This was the first time I had one that was adequately sweet and didn't taste artificial. I think it's also a must try. All in all. I can see the hype. It's a lovely spot to check out for drinks and light bites but also be prepared to open a tab. I think it's easier for them to do it that way so just have a card ready if ordering multiple items. I'm definitely coming back and I will sit outside to take in the view. It's gorgeous.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try since it's much closer than going uptown. The ambiance was nice, decorations, lighting, outdoor area were all great and wonderful service as well. We started off with a couple of cocktails that were decent along with a sushi as appetizer. I can't remember which one exactly, but it was delicious. As for dinner, I ordered the filet mignon with the regular sides which included the scalloped potatoes, asparagus, and carrots. Prior to my food arriving, I noticed my knife was filthy. I notified the server and he was extremely apologetic but, it was unfortunate. My meal arrived and the presentation was great, but my steak was overcooked and under seasoned. I worked in the restaurant business in my previous life so I don't send my food back to the kitchen. The scalloped potatoes were too hard for my own taste and the other veggies were similarly bland. My husband ordered the lobster meal and unfortunately, he was extremely disappointed and not impressed. The lobster was bland and it came it came with tuna wrapped in cucumber? Whatever it was, it wasn't good. We paid and sat at the bar and had about 4 cocktails. The strawberry mojito was delicious. We're ones that don't mind paying prices for good food, but, in my opinion this wasn't worth the cost. We've had better quality food elsewhere,

Yelp
Wow - super thrilled to see this new addition to Ballantyne. Brace yourself for the prices, it's not cheap but it's delicious!!! We all ordered something different (filet mignon, sushi & sea bass). The filet had the most delectable cauliflower & truffle mash accompaniment - the sushi was fresh and tasty and that sea bass - melted in your mouth. Honestly though, the apps were the show stoppers! The waygu tacos were tasty and crispy and the potstickers were the best we've EVER had. It was a shredded meat and the sauce they were sitting in was good enough to lick from the plate. Service was awesome & our waiter went above and beyond to care for our young teen's birthday (cookies & a tasty fudge dessert) we didn't have any of the fancy cocktails but we watched them get delivered all around us! We'll be back not maybe not immediately as our bank account will need to recover...... can't imagine how much worse it'd have been if we did imbibe!

Yelp
Date night was a fantastic experience! Reservations for Friday night, we were asked if we preferred indoor/outdoor. Other restaurants, outdoors tables needs reservations in advance but we were able to pick- that was a plus! Christine was lovely and took great care us. We ordered OystersSpider Roll, Potatoes and Salmon. No complaints, food was delicious! Great place for Date night, girls night out. Will def come back.

Yelp
The ambiance and customer experience was very good. Food did take a little longer than usual to only have the reservation for 1.5hrs, but for a party of 2, I think that's pretty good time. If you know you would want to go on a weekend, you definitely would need to reserve weekends in advance. But for a nice view of the city, I think it's worth the experience at least once. We started off with the Waygu Tacos (8/10) & Potstickers (9.5/10). The Waygu tacos were good but I didn't really care for the hard shell taco and how oily they were. Now the mustard sauce that came with the Potstickers was definitely the star of the dish, so it's a must have. The Waygu fried rice was beautifully presented and the fish it was was very good. However, if you're very hungry you more than likely won't get full off of the portion size. Overall, the experience was very great and I would highly recommend as a first date vibe!

Yelp
Truly one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in my life. Food: The oxtail potstickers with the blood orange combo was so delicious. The salmon entree with the rice was just beautiful, it does have some sweet taste with the sauce but definitely worth getting if you have a sweet palate! Crab cakes was huge they can fill you up!! The crab cake was the so fresh and full of flavor with the roe on top and fresh chopped red and green peppers really brought out flavor, just thinking about it makes me want to go back to order it again. Chocolate cake was so creamy with the chocolate creams under the chocolate bar and the crushed up chocolate pieces on top next to the gold flakes were crunchy/ crispy(reminds me of a elevated heath bar) along with the ice cream made me opened up a second stomach just to eat the whole thing!! Cocktail: Each cocktail we had was unique and my favorite was the Hornets Nest in Jalisco it was like a blood orange margarita (please get this) the Down The Rabbit hole was more on the floral side (not my taste). But the A/C Harmony was a stronger drink but very tasty!! The cocktail menu was crafted very well. Service: AMAZING! Our server provided an amazing experience, he was able to help with my friends shellfish allergy and recommended great alternatives! Very professional and attentive. Ambiance: Just WOW the place is modern and luxurious. I just love the music playlist too. The rooftop bar feels like a premium experience with beautiful views from the patio! Being 16 floors up in Ballantyne at night was a view you don't see often. I just know every visit will be an experience to remember and treasure. Thank you Hestia!!
