The Best Late-Night Restaurants In Seattle

"Open until 12am While it's not the greatest dim sum option in the International District, Hong Kong Bistro is open until 12am and happens to be better than Purple Dot, which is reason enough to stop in for BBQ pork buns, overstuffed potstickers, and tasty shrimp dumplings. Enjoy it all alongside your final beer of the night. " - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

14 Delightful Dim Sum Restaurants in the Seattle Area - Eater Seattle

"Hong Kong Bistro is perfect for anyone craving late night dim sum. The restaurant currently closes around midnight, but before the pandemic it was known to stay open even later. Here the dim sum is served all day, made fresh to order. The baked pork buns feature sweet barbecue pork stuffed in a fluffy bun and topped with a sweet, crumbly, crunchy coating. Pair this with a refreshing mango freeze — a mango smoothie combining coconut milk and sago pearls — for an indulgent meal." - Leonardo David Raymundo, Ryan Lee

Google
First time here and it was delightful. The dim sum dishes were the highlight, especially the pork/ shrimp. Juicy and flavorful. It was all good. Tip: we could’ve ordered the salt and pepper shrimp without the heads and legs, which would’ve saved a lot of work. It was quite messy.

Google
Came in to try dumplings and some other food here. Staff wasn’t very friendly and cold feeling. Took almost 20 minutes to get an order in and it wasn’t full as we were there early afternoon also Long after lunch. Got our food and it was good, then sat around waiting to get our bill and no one ever came or checked on us. Eventually had to flag them down too. The floors going to bathroom and near kitchen really need a sweep and cleaning. Makes you question hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen.

Google
This is probably Seattle Chinatown best kept secret, as a visitor my family rely on reviews to try authentic asian food in Seattle. This Hong Kong Bistro is relatively low in rating but food is superb. It is much better than other nearby restaurants with higher ratings. Highly recommended!

Google
Hong Kong Bistro is my favorite dim sum spot in Seattle! Everything on the menu is so good, but the green beans are my absolute favorite—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. If you’re into good dim sum and you’re in the area, this place is a must. Cozy, delicious, and always satisfying!

Google
About as good as it gets around here for Cantonese food. Not as strong as the best places in Vancouver, and Calgary but it stands up well enough I'd take my mom here if she is only slightly disappointed

Google
I rarely rate Chinese restaurants overseas because others’ ratings/reviews mean nothing to me. But but but their HK style sandwich tastes exactly like it’s made by a HK college canteen, especially the spam & egg combination. HK milk tea is authentic and authentic is the best compliment because we all know HK milk tea >>>>>>> Boba.

Google
Nice spot for a legitimate late-night meal. Was not a fan of the pepper beef short ribs. They were very chewy and slathered with an untasty sauce. I really liked the century egg porridge- definitely get it with Chinese donuts for dipping. Condiments on the table (pepper, chili, soy sauce) were disgustingly sticky. I opted out of using them because of that.

First time here and the food was delicious. I am not a vegetable person but my favorite was the green beans and the noodles. Recommended.

Yelp
I thought this place was pretty decent for the price. My mom wanted Asian food while we were driving through Seattle so we came, and she got an order of lo mein noodles with chicken. It ended up being a soup based dish, so the noodles weren't the pan fried "classic" take out type. The broth seemed fish based, and was a little bit strong. I tried some and didn't love it but she liked it and for about $25 there was enough food for multiple meals so pretty good deal! The inside of this place was decently nice and had a lot of seating so that was good too. I wish they'd had like a side dish of just vegetables since a lot of the dishes were very carb or meat heavy. One thing I don't like about the area and Seattle (downtown) in general - there is NO free parking anywhere nearby. We just wanted take out so i ended up leaving the car and my mom about 1.5 blocks down with the emergency on and going in to get the food since there were almost no other spots to even leave the car, much less anything free. Overall - didn't feel too strongly about this place. It was good, got the job done. Wouldn't seek it out again necessarily.

Yelp
Great place to go for dim sum with a large group. Make sure you call ahead of time to make reservations! Everyone is super busy nice! The place is renovated and it's look way better than before.

Yelp
Overall: Pretty solid dim sum. The inside is nice but also very busy. Food: The dim sum here was pretty good, they have a few stand out dishes but overall everything tasted good. Service: The service is fast for how many tables they work. You can order and get your food relatively quickly, even during peak hours. Ambiance: This is a nice sit down place, but definitely flexible into the casual area.

Yelp
Wow! We had a fantastic experience at Hong Kong Bistro! Even though it was super busy at lunch over a holiday weekend, we were seated quickly, only about a 10 minute wait. Service was fast and easy and we had questions about what to do and the staff was helpful and kind. We opted for only Dim Sum and no other entrees. We got the chow mein, bbq pork, sautéed string beans, fried shrimp dumplings, and pan fried pork buns. The star of the show was the friend shrimp dumplings!!! Everything was phenomenal. Clean, lots of searing. If you're in Seattle, you must come here!

Yelp
HKB is my go-to reliable spot for traditional Cantonese food. I especially love coming for a late night meal after a night out! You truly cannot miss with any of their dishes and hits the spot when I crave classic Chinese dishes. This review in particular is focused on their desserts. Each time I visit, it is an absolute must to get either a mango pomelo sago or watermelon slush and I have also started to drop by HKB just for their drinks as well! Their drinks are so refreshing and perfect for a hot, summer day and are something that I crave often.

Yelp
Ambience is bright and classy. It was decently busy on a Wednesday night, and the food came out surprisingly quickly. Service left nothing to be desired. I think the most notable things about this restaurant are ambience, dim sum offering (even during later hours), and the very expansive menu. I was overwhelmed with how many things I wanted to try. Stuffed eggplant: 5/5, this was my favorite by far! Came with a dipping sauce and stuff with a shrimp-like filling. Sichuan five spice chicken: 3/5, good taste but meat to bone ratio was small and was a bit dry to my liking. Overall a pretty solid place and this would be my go-to the next time I'm craving some late night dim sum.

Yelp
Ordered a couple items from the place, I would say overall, dim sum taste much better than the other dishes. They do have a few unique items, and highly recommend the pan fried taro cakes. The rest of the dishes are average, nothing stand out. Service is average just like any other Chinese restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good dim sum! Gets very busy but lots of seating. We only waited for 20 minutes for 2 people during the busiest time. The portions are pretty big and quality is good. I recommend coming with a group and trying lots of different things.

Yelp
Located in Chinatown, they open late and offer all-day dim sum! Stopped by on a Sunday night and it was busy, but we got seated quickly. Casual vibe. Large menu with many selections. They took our orders and brought out our food fairly quickly. This was the only dim sum place that we visited in Seattle and most of the dishes were pretty solid. Not sure how to compare the prices, but it's a bit pricier than most dim sum places I've been to in general (normally $5-7 a dish). Dim sum dishes here were around $7-8 each. $7.25 for 4 Shanghai (soup) dumplings that were very mid (thick skinned and not a lot of soup) was ridiculous. Even at Din Tai Fung (a classier spot known for soup dumplings) it is $17 for 10 in Los Angeles. So using that as a base, I would say the value wasn't there.

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the ID area. I've come here 30+ times and recommended it to about everyone I meet! The inside is big. They can accommodate large groups. They don't take reservations, but the wait time isn't usually so bad. On weekends it's busy, so get there earlier if you're impatient. The service is good. No complaints. They'll fix your order if you have a problem with it. I've only ever been treated nicely. The food is amazing!! Their menu is huge so you'll probably have a hard time choosing what to order because you want to try everything. They even have Hong Kong classic food. I always stuff my face and walk out with a food coma hahahaha I really recommend you to try this place!!

Yelp
I would give it a 3.5 Environment: this was my first time having dim sum in Seattle. There were lots of seats and of course different sized tables but mostly bigger tables. Staff: they were friendly overall but it was slightly like a game of telephone as some of the bus boys we see all the time, we had to ask them for something because we can't find other servers. So they helped relay the message or find a server for us. Food: there were lots of things on the menu. If we had more people, we could've ordered some plates and not just dim sum. Anyways, the food slowly trickled in, not incredibly slow but we had to double check if they forgot our orders or not but there was only one person making all the rolls on a busy Saturday. Anyways, the food was fine but not authentic-sized. The ha gao was huge, like two people could share one as well as the siu mai. The other foods were good but not outstanding and wow I want to try again. I do however want to try their dishes next time as there were lots of Cantonese dishes that caught my eye. I'll come back some day haha.

Yelp
This is a Hong Kong restaurant in the center of Chinatown. Street parking is limited. The place was clean and spacious. We ordered a bunch of items from their dim sum menu. Our favorites were crispy red rice rolls, black sesame buns and pea vine with garlic sauce. The place was busy so it was difficult to get waiters' attention.
google avatar

Yelp
I regret eating here. The food was mediocre and overpriced, my dish arrived late and cold. In addition, the staff lacked customer service skills and proper etiquette. An awful smell from the kitchen sealed the deal. Only came because it was 1 a.m., never again!

Yelp
Reliable, above-average Cantonese-style dishes. It's one of our go-to's for family dinners in the CID. Service is average. We're usually seated quickly, but the speed with someone taking your order, refilling water, etc. varies. More often than not we end up calling on someone. No biggie but at times a little annoying. Inside is clean and decor is modern. It's a little "classier" if you will than your neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I would gladly bring out of town guests here if they're craving decent Chinese food. Food overall is good. Is every dish "amazing"? No, but most are pretty darn satisfactory. Not too salty or oily, veggies are fresh and not overcooked. I don't remember any dish I've disliked - more just preference, e.g. eggplant with spicy Szechuan is a tad sweet for me but some may enjoy it and think it's perfect. As with dining in Chinatown in general, parking sucks - I don't count lack of parking in my ratings. But just in case, something to note.

Yelp
This restaurant opened at 10am and I was there when they opened up. You order dim sum on a piece of paper. The food came out pretty quickly and it was nice and steamy hot. I like their hau gau. All the food was pretty good and the bathroom was clean! The decor was very warm and clean as well. We ended up ordering - beans, buns, shrimp rolls, shui mai, hau gau, ..the usual suspects. Parking can be tricky but glad we got there early.

Yelp
Oh, I find the 3.5 star average a tad surprising. 3.5 is not high on Yelp and normally gives me some hesitation if I see that. And with the huge amount of dim sum in this area now, I dare say there's quite a lot of mediocre dim sum that end up with a 3.5 average. Everything I ate here was above average imo. Fen guo (chiu chow) - Nice texture on the wrap and the contents. The flour is quite stretchy, but I think that's ideal for this dumpling. Delicious and fun to eat as usual. Tofu skin roll - Warm, juicy, and delicious. Feet - Warm with great flavor. The skin pretty much falls off. Some places have the cold, hard, and slightly spicy ones, but I much prefer this kind. Noodles - I think the beef is just okay, but the overall texture and umami of the noodles is excellent. Duck - A lot of places make this kinda roast duck kinda dry. I like how this one was softer and juicier. Overall, I can find almost nothing to complain about. Didn't have any issues with service either. We were seated, ordered, and received food promptly.

Yelp
Arguably, I think HK Bistro is the best Dim Sum spot in the Seattle area. The place is always popping with people and there is a lot of seating, but depending on the day you might have to wait up to 45 minutes. I love that they have all day dim sum and they close late. The Har Gow & Shui Mai are always fatty and fresh. I think their best dish is the green beans with spicy minced pork. They make the best green beans out of all the Chinese restaurants in town. The service is typical of a traditional Chinese restaurant and sometimes it's hard to get their attention because it's so busy, but I love to see the crowdedness of families eating dim sum together

Yelp
YES!! They are stillkilling it for Chinese plates and dim sum! It has been over 5 years since my last visit (office moved us to work from home) and i was stunned they immediately recognized me. How great is that? I brought in a couple of colleagues after reminiscing to them how great the food is there and I'm greeted with a big smile and "welcome back"! Needless to say the size of dim sum pieces are large and flavorful. I was hoping they still had their borscht soup...and they did. They call it russian borscht but its cantonese. It's tomato based not beet. It is OUTSTANDING. I had to get it and ask for two extra spoons so my friends to try. They were amazed at the flavor. They never knew they liked borscht soup. It has a light sweetness (to counter the tomatoes). So if you are a no sugar person, probably skip. But if you are "normal" :) you'll likely love it. You really need to try it. Service was great, food tasty. When i have meetings downtown, this is my go to spot again. Zai Jian!

Yelp
DIMSUM SESSION (3.25 stars) - FOOD: ok - PRICE: average - SERVICE: typical Chinatown service (weak) - AMBIANCE: not cute on the outside but cute for Chinatown on the inside It's SUNDAY. Great minds think alike! We were both craving dimsum for breakfast and came to Chinatown for the experience. For both of us, it's been decades since we had dimsum in Seattle's Chinatown (separate occasions) but first together and didn't know where to go. Seattle may have changed and became unrecognizable but Chinatown stays stagnant. This was our 3rd restaurant pick because the first one looked underwhelming, the second one looked promising but long line. This place looked pretty inside and we were able to secure a table quickly. Sadly... no carts roaming around the floor. At the end of the meal, it wasn't about the experience - it was about the company!!! JASMINE GREEN TEA - you been warned! Their tea is SO hot it can burn you. This is a law suite ready to happen. Good tea, mildly-strong. Tea goes so well with dimsum! CHINESE BROCCOLI AND OYSTER SAUCE - this was and always will be a hit at any dimsum session. This breaks up the meal and gives the pallet something "fresh". HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPARERIBS IN BLACK-BEAN SAUCE ($7.50) - good but nothing special. Meaty yet the bones were kind of sharp. Good flavor, average tasting juices. This would be good with some white rice but the rice never came. RECOMMEND BAKED BBQ PORK PUFF PASTRY ($7.95/3pcs) - this was good BUT much more sweeter than usual. It had a nice flaky, filled with glazed pork, and the Philo dough I ate this last and treated it like a dessert because the it was basically a sweet pastry instead of a savory pastry. RECOMMEND STEAMED SHANGHAI DUMPLINGS ($7.95/4 pcs) - this wasn't DinTaiFung quality. The soup had a sweet taste over savory. The outer skin was soft but not delicate. Overall it just felt unfresh and one of those dimsums you get in the frozen food section. SHRIMP AND PEA VINE DUMPLINGS ($7.95/3pcs) - again, why were these SO big. They were the size of 2 put together and they were super filled up with shrimp (good thing) but had to deconstruct the dimsum to eat it. This was pretty good and liked this more than the Shrimp and Chives. HIGHLY RECOMMEND SHRIMP AND CHIVE DUMPLINGS ($7.95/3pcs) - why were these SO big. Average tasting. Dimsum isn't great when it's big, doesn't feel like dimsum. LO MAI GAI ($7.50/2 servings) - Sticky rice and port wrapped in lotus leaf. It had chicken and Chinese sausage. This is very savory and the lotus leaf gives it an earthy/grassy flavor. Pairs well with a drizzle of vinegar. RECOMMEND SIDE OF WHITE RICE - we never got and never was charged. But we were waiting for it. :: SERVICE :: Definitely lacked. Why was it SO weird?! The Mexican server seemed like he didn't know what we were asking sometimes. A Chinese server grabs our menu with our markings without verifying the order. We did sit there and chat over tea for a long time and then another server comes by rushing us out. Not like there's a line but the restaurant was full and the table next to us had maybe 5 different parties. There are a handful of other dimsum restaurants to be hand. I'd come here to eat regular Chinese food but maybe try another dimsum spot. Until the next review..

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place has low reviews because I think it's PHENOMENAL. I've had lots of dim sum restaurants, but this spot has some of my favorites. Specifically their purple sweet potato salted egg - I'd eat this dessert every day because it was incredibly delicious. Also, their dim sum is high quality - their shumai and shrimp dumplings were huge - not because of the wrapping, but because the actual shrimp itself was huge. I'd definitely recommend this place. Service was fast, as any dim sum restaurant, and the ambiance was perfect. The place was a little expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
google avatar

Joanne W.

Yelp
I love the dim sum all day option! The food was pretty good. The har gow was huge. A lot bigger than what I expected and usually see at dim sum places. The service was quick with it and we got seated fast too. The interior was nice. Not too messy and it was pretty busy. The food wasn't unique overall but still yummy.
google avatar

Nora J.

Yelp
Dang, if I could give a place 0 stars, I'd give them none. Came here for dimsum with a party of 10 and had high expectations. All the dishes we got were flavorless and not cooked well. We got a fried dish and it was so soggy. I ordered egg tarts, my favorite thing at dimsum, and after I took one bite, I immediately spit it out - it was so disgusting and such a let down. By the end of the meal, I was so hungry because everything I ate was bland or just plain bad. This place was ridiculously expensive for below average quality food. The waiters weren't nice or helpful either. You'd wave at them to get their attention, they'd make eye contact, then walk away. If you want dimsum in the ID, go somewhere else with decent food because this place is NOT it.
google avatar

Hucky K.

Yelp
Pros: large selection of food, food tastes good, and is very authentic, most things are priced reasonably Cons: food safety rating is often okay or good, I've never seen excellent sign on the window Parking can be challenging, but it is a common problem in ID.

Yelp
TLDR: Authentic and tasty dim sum, better especially if you can bring a Chinese speaker! - - - - - - Hong Kong Bistro was by no means a "hidden location" in Chinatown, since it boasted that dim sum was served all day. Unfortunately, some items were not available for a 4pm visit. I visited with a friend and ordered their scallop and egg white fried rice, gai lan veggies, crispy shrimp balls, and pineapple bun. Coming from California, I wasn't expecting to be "impressed" but these dishes were all tasty in their own ways: scallop and egg white fried rice: a clean classic, as traditional as could be gai lan: that oyster sauce was STRONG, but other than that, some of the stems were old and not edible, should've been cut off :( crispy shrimp balls: wasn't sure what to expect, but it was tasty, juicy, everything you could ever ask for shrimp! pineapple bun: easily near the top of the best I've ever had Part of me is glad that some dishes were unavailable because I asked inquired about the pineapple bun and crispy shrimp balls. Other than not having all dim sum all day and the gai lan, everything was perfect!
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
I said it before and I'll say it again, Hong Kong Bistro is definitely one of the best Seattle has to offer. I still think that the Peking Duck, Siu Mai, and Green Beans are the S-tier, must-get items here, but I've really started exploring other parts of the menu as I come here so often (multiple days in a row sometimes!). They genuinely do so, so many items well and the hours are perfect for a night owl like me - being open until midnight even on weeknights is just such a vibe. Here's the underrated items for folks looking to mix up their orders if you're a regular like me: - Sweet and Sour Fried Rock Fish (4/5): Fish was actually an amazing texture: tender and flaky. The taste was super clean and even though I was a bit apprehensive, the crust is still crispy when it hits the table. The crunch from the vegetables are a nice contrast, only slightly too sweet for me. - Salt and Pepper Pork Chops (4.25/5): Insanely tender pork chops - I have no idea how they pulled it off. Crust has a nice hard crunch and perfectly seasoned, which is to say strong on the pepper.

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times since they opened and they've been really consistent with their food. They are clean and it's quick to get seated here compared to many restaurants around in the International District. The servers are nice but when they are crowded, it's hard to get their attention to refill water, order more, etc. I think their dimsums are very normal, nothing special compared to Triumph Valley or Top Gun, however, it's a plus that their dimsums are available all day and good enough to satisfy my cravings. They do a great job with fried rice, stone pot dishes, etc. They offer Peking Duck in half so it's easier to order that way if you also want to try. I'd suggest ordering 3-4 dimsums dishes and their house special dishes if you come at lunch and dinner
google avatar

Vivian O.

Yelp
I came to Hong Kong Bistro around noon on a wednesday and my party of 8 was able to be seated right away! It looks small on the outside but there is a decent amount of seating and it's kept clean. We ordered the usual dim sum foods like shumai, rice rolls, congee, har gow, etc and we were amazed by everything. Since my family is from china and go back often, it's hard to impress them but they commended its freshness and authenticity. By the end we had tons of leftovers and we were sad that we didn't come hungrier!! I will say I'm glad I came with a family that could speak with the workers because I do think you may feel neglected if not. This is probably my favorite dim sum place in chinatown!

Yelp
This restaurant has been plagued by poor service over the years up to a point where they even had buttons on the booths that let you call the waiters for something you need like the check or a water refill (that's no longer the case). I'm haopy to say that that's no longer the case when I went with a friend on a busy Saturday night! Wait time did end up being around 10 minutes because of the time. Otherwise we were seated promptly. The place is pretty dim but it gets really noisy the more people are inside. Place feels relatively clean. Servers did very well taking our orders as I asked and we got our food relatively quick. I got my all-time favorite mango smoothie with coconut milk and sago to start, and it's always the bomb whenever I get it; sweet with a strong mango taste and sago balls to add to the cream-like texture of the drink. My friend and I got the Singaporean style fried vermicelli and the grilled mixed steak (chicken, pork AND beef steak) with pan-fried egg and sausage. I asked for the black pepper sauce on the side and I was happy they followed my preference. The vermicelli was delicious all around and had the perfect curry taste to it; the meat combo was the best part too as the meats were well-seasoned and not hard, and it also came in a sizzling hot pan that kept on sizzling even when brought out! That's like my favorite way of having my dishes! I've gone to this place constantly since high school, and it's undergone so many changes, but I'm happy that my experience here was a great one!

Yelp
I came here for dim sum on a Sunday. We had about a 20 minute wait. I really enjoyed all the dishes, they had a good variety. One of my favorites was the beef chow fun. I love this place for a nice family style meal. It felt pretty traditional Chinese. I would definitely come back for any dim sum cravings!
google avatar

Lillian C.

Yelp
I've only been here for late night dim sum, and it has never disappointed! The space itself is comfy and roomy and there's plenty of tables and booths. Even when I go at 9pm, there's sometimes a short wait to be seated. The hosts and servers are quick, attentive, and very friendly. The food is always so good. Top contenders always include congee, the golden custard buns, the shrimp dumpling, Hong Kong stir fry beef noodles, short ribs, and Hong Kong style milk tea. We've ordered other dishes too and everything is packed with flavor, never too salty but never too bland. Generally at a decent price point too!

Yelp
Came with family for early dinner on a weekend and it was not packed. Parking can be very tough in this area with only street/metered parking. There was no wait and we were seated right away. Service was average with dishes coming out in 20min made fresh. 7/10 Honey Walnut Shrimp $18 - Average dish but portion is quite small. Very creamy as expected but needs a bit more seasoning. 8/10 Green Beans XO sauce $16 - Standard dish that was well done. Their XO sauce was pretty good and coated the green beans well. Expectations were met. 7/10 Peking Duck $35 whole - Duck itself was good. Crispy skin and juicy meat cut up and plated nicely. However, portion size for a whole duck is ridiculously small as shown because they only serve the nice looking pieces. We had to ask them to give us the remainder of the duck which still had plenty of meat left on the bone. 5/10 House Special Tofu Stone Pot $15 - Very mid. Would not get again. The tofu was bland and there was nothing special about this dish. 6/10 E Fu Noodles $14 - Noodles had a good texture in terms of chewiness, but there was not much flavor here. Should upgrade to Xo sauce (cost extra) if you want this noodle dish. 8/10 Stir Fried Radish Cake with XO Sauce $10 - Again, the XO sauce is their main flavor component but on these radish cakes paired well with them. Slightly crispy on the outside, inside was airy and filling was good. 7/10 Mango Freeze $5 - Average drink, mango flavor was a bit light, and on the sweeter side. Coconut sago was good.

Yelp
** Visited on 7/5/2024 I had visited Hong Kong Bistro with a large group (about 40 people) for a large family get together and the restaurant was incredibly accommodating considering we had originally reserved tables for 30 people. To order food, you would mark your menu and a waiter/waitress would pick it up and send in your order. OKAY THE FOOD: It was pretty decent dim sum food, and we left in a food coma. Their BBQ pork buns were tasty and a little different from the norm that I am used to from the Bay Area. Their siu mai was pretty large & tasty too, I loved their honey walnut shrimp. OVERALL: I genuinely enjoyed my experience here and would love to come back. :-)

Yelp
This is a delicious dim sum spot in the International District. It is a little spendy and worth it! My favorite items are the steamed bean curd roll, pan fried chives dumplings and the radish cakes with XO sauce. However, the standout would be the baked BBQ pork buns because of the sweet crust on top and good bbq pork to dough ratio. I haven't found another baked BBQ pork bun in the greater Puget Sound area that rivals this one. Nice, updated decor. Service is good.

Yelp
All Day Dim Sum = Nuff Said I have to be bias by saying if you're not Asian, I won't even consider your bland three star reviews. Service was ON POINT. The staff is constantly coming around to make sure you get your orders in and have all you need until the orders come thru. Xiao Long Bao = the juiciest soup filled dumplings hit the spot. ShuMai = Can I get a YUMMY in my TUMMY? Each bite is soft and pillowy just what you want in a shu mai. Radish cakes = Don't overlook this one- dip it in the chili sauce and yum yum. Ox Tripe = Not so much a fan of this one but they hook it up with the cartilage stomach lining. Shrimp dumpling = yes yes yes. PEKING DUCK with pancake = fatty perfection. Wrap it in the pancake, scallion, cucumber and it just melts in your mouth. The restaurant is clean and well kept for a busy establishment. There has never been a night I have not seen this place packed. Considering how busy they are, the food was so fresh and good to go.

Yelp
Food is always tasty and reliable. Space is always clean and accommodating of large groups. Service is fast and efficient. Can get really busy after events in the area. Open late and reliable. Always come here when I'm in the area or when I've got out of town guests. Street parking only.

Yelp
We went to dinner on Wednesday around 7:30 and this place was packed!! We put our name down and waited for about 20 minutes. There's a parking lot across the street with limited spaces but super convenient! There's also street parking but definitely get there early to beat the dinner rush hour. There was a call/pay button on the table and it was very easy to get the attention of staff. Staff were very friendly and attentive even during the crazy dinner rush. For food, we ordered shrimp shumai, Chinese broccoli, shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns, mapo tofu, crispy shrimp balls, and topped it off with some Portuguese egg tarts. This was definitely more than enough for 3 people and could've easily fed 5+ people lol everything on the menu looked so good and we simply couldn't resist. FYI all rice rolls are unavailable after 3pm! Definitely a place to check out if you're in ID & craving dim sum

Yelp
My favorite place in Chinatown so far. I've been going here for the past 3 years and they have been very consistent. There is usually a wait time which varies depending on the time you arrive and the number of people in your group. In my case this time, since large table were available the large group behind me got seated ahead, but I got seated soon after than. Here are what we ordered: -pork and century egg congee: 5/5. Good portion of pork that was very tender and I believe 1 century egg. -pork chop and steak: 5/5. Again the meat was tender, tasty and juicy. -hot and sour wonton noodle soup : 5/5 m. This was I think one of the best hot and sour wonton I tried. It came in a huge bowl.

Yelp
We ordered for delivery, screwed up the order, and eventually picked it up. The food was delicious. End of story.

Yelp
Went back and had the Beef Chow fun Xo and tried some Dim sum as well. Fresh and delicious yet again. The dim sum was made to order so took a little bit of time but it was so worth it. They have all day dim sum too so you can order at any time. Roughly $7.50 a serving so a little on the pricier side but you can taste the quality.

Yelp
Hong Kong Bistro serves some of the best dim sum I've ever had. You can tell all of the dishes are really fresh as the taste reflects that. Service was quick and they don't hassle you after you've ordered which is nice. The interior gives off a nice ambiance. I cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Hong Kong Bistro is one of the more modern, cleaner renovated dim sum restaurants in Chinatown Seattle. Food was decent; a little more expensive compared to other dim sum places nearby. Customer service needs improvement. The salt and pepper pork chop was crispy but a little salty. Pan-fried black pepper beef with crispy vermicelli was good and easy to share with a few people. Vermicelli noodles were crispy but also kinda hard and chewy at the same time. We also ordered chicken feet, egg plant stuffed shrimp, bean curd with shrimp, fried chive and shrimp, shrimp balls-- all were good like usual dim sum places. There were a few items that we came specifically for but they were all sold out. They were sold out on the pineapple bun, golden custard bun, and purple potato salted egg buns. I didn't like that we were still eating with a lot of food obviously on the plate yet the waiter attempted to take it away and rushing us out. There were still plenty of seating too.

Yelp
Went to the Hong Kong Bistro a couple of times lately while going through Seattle. My previous favorite was A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but they're taking a two month vacation! Food is authentic and solid. Portions were pretty big. We've tried a few of the standard Hong Kong cafe style food such as baked pork chop rice, curry beef brisket rice, beef chow fun, bone-in chicken with green onions and soy sauce, Chinese broccoli/yu choy with oyster sauce, and egg tart. Service was pretty standard for a Hong Kong style cafe. Food came out rather quickly. They have a huge menu; and the restaurant is pretty big and clean. Although I probably still like the food better at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, Hong Kong Bistro is cleaner and more comfortable. And they even serve all day dim sum (haven't tried their dim sum except for the egg tarts which were pretty good) and are open until midnight. Prices are very affordable. Overall, it's a good and solid option for Hong Kong cafe style food.

Yelp
This place is great for late night eats. Been here a few times and there is generally a table available. Food is a hit or a miss for this hour and can't complain if your hungry at 11pm. I've knocked off two stars for the consistent flies that are competing for the food and the service. They are quick to serve but could be rude. This time I ordered a dessert - mango pomelo sago. The second star is the dessert. Unsure if it was created hours ago or longer but the sago were crumbly to the touch. I'll return though as it is rare to find late night eats, but not for desserts.

Yelp
The food was ok. The honey walnut shrimp tasted old and stale. Dim sum is ok. Prob not going back again.

Yelp
Beautiful, large space. We came as a group of four on a Thursday evening after 9pm, they were pretty busy, and even then we were seated within five minutes, our server took our order within 10 minutes, and food arrived as it was ready within the next 30 minutes. Staff were helpful and efficient. The food was good, and the portion sizes were big for the price. Nothing exceptional flavour wise, but tasty and good value. We ordered the beans, Mongolian beef, chicken pan fried noodles, beef and broccoli, and chicken fried rice. Each serving of mains could feed two. Parking is tough in the area.

Yelp
Tried the dim sum and was very happy! I loved the shrimp and chive dumplings, fried tofu puffs (contains shrimp), vegetable egg rolls, and custard buns. We also liked our HK milk teas. My partner got the pork chow mein and really liked it, and there was so much he couldn't finish it all. Everything is large portion family style even if it's not on the dim sum menu, which is served all day/evening. The ambiance seemed nice and it was clean and got a bit busy after we were seated. Service was a bit slow with only seemingly 2 servers but they were fine. We'd definitely come back for the dim sum or to try anything else again!

Yelp
A good spot for some Cantonese food! They're open super late, so we came for a later dinner on a Sunday night and were able to get seated immediately. We got quite a wide variety of dishes, and I also got the sesame balls in purple rice dessert. The dessert was fantastic - sweet coconut milk over a generous portion of purple rice, and yummy sesame balls. They weren't the best sesame balls ever but they did the job. The food was also pretty good - a bit to oily for some dishes, but flavors were great. I think the standout was definitely the garlic short ribs. Service was quite interesting, as they were really fast with some items and really slow with others. There wasn't too much attention, but overall a pleasant experience.

Yelp
The Peking duck was absolutely delicious. Really loved the sweet-and-sour pork and the orange chicken. The Lazy Susan really helped to serve all the food with a large group. We were here for Chinese new year. The service was OK. They didn't seem to talk to us too much and We could tell they wanted us to get out of there very quickly. However, when we were done eating, we waited about 10 minutes to try to pay our bill even though they made it clear we need to get out within 45 minutes for the next table. The ambience is very sweet and comfortable.
