The Best Restaurants and Food-Focused Hotels in the Alps - Eater

"At the latter, Ike preserved the ’50s vibe with vintage furnishings and commissioned designer Ernst Muthwill, who fine-tuned the midcentury ode with colors like cerulean and vermillion. You’ll find the best views of the Gastein Valley in the lobby, ideally with a tall flute of Champagne in hand, before heading to the hotel restaurant, where old-fashioned dishes are reinvented with organic ingredients." - Michelle Tchea

The staff is awesome - i was treated with so much kindness. The blonde young woman (forgot to ask her name) at the reception made me feel welcome from the very first second. She used my name whilst talking to me and pointed out all the important things. They also asked me if i needed a shuttle and organised it very spontanioulsy. It‘s not directly at the City centre but this is good if you‘re not there for the party - and you can sleep in peace at night :)

Thank you for your hospitality during our stay. We enjoyed your place this year winter and summer and already booked for 2025. The charming Ambiente and its open minded people at Miramonte make this hideaway unique and honest. Oh, and the breakfast is so yummi.....

Great hotel with amazing staff and delicious cuisine. The staff is so kind and accommodating. The spa is beautiful and highly recommend a massage! Good location for Graukogel Berglift and close to the waterfall.

A gorgeous boutique hotel. We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms are renovated but staying true to the heritage of the hotel. The balcony offers perfect views of the surrounding mountains. The food - breakfast, light lunch and afternoon cake as well as dinner - is also excellent. We also enjoyed the Spa and the Yoga offerings. Highly recommended.

I liked the view but the rooms were uncleaned and the bathroom floor was filled with hair . And the hotel staff barged into our room while we’re sleeping. I don’t recommend anyone to visit or stay in that hotel .

Food was good and the lounge area nice but other than that cannot really recommend. Definitely did not feel like a 4 star hotel. Somehow felt super cheap : room numbers were written on a post-it and glued to the wall and the fluorescent tube in the bathroom was literally held together with a cello tape (no kidding!). Had pretty bad customer service experiences: - Despite making literally 5 phone calls still didn't get an iron delivered to our room. Gave up on it after 2 days. - Staff had no clue about the package holiday we had booked. Had to ask repeatedly to get us vouchers for the spa. - Owner was super indifferent to our concerns and even argued with us. - Told the staff we were checking out at 7.45 the previous day but they didn't show up until 8. Nearly missed our train back. Overall was a huge disappointment. And definitely not worth the bucks.

Nice location, the staff is helpful and the food is insane!!! Book with dinner because you will miss a lot! The whole place has some spirit from the past and it just great to be there. On the other hand, the rooms are not that great and they would need some work to do. Get the room with balcony. They are bigger and the view is awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Miramonte - we booked a large panorama room, and it was perfect - the view from the terrace was wonderful, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a lovely haven with a bathtub, and we felt right at home watching the morning news in bed. We went half board, and the food was great - a huge selection of breakfast options, both cooked and uncooked, lovely soup and cakes if you’re around in the afternoon and feeling peckish and dinner was always a pleasure, with a good selection of wines/cocktails etc. A special shout has to go out to the head chef who really makes an effort, and also the senior waiter and the lovely friendly bartender. ||In short, a beautiful hotel, with lots of style and charm, with a relaxed friendly atmosphere and international feel - perfect for us and good value for money. We have booked to return in January for a longer stay, as we felt like we were only just getting to know our way around this wonderful valley, with all it has to offer in every season!

Yelp
Lovely hotel for skiing or a seminar. The rooms are comfy, the common spaces are welcoming and stylish, and the staff is BEYOND AMAZING. We might have partied too hard, and they were kind and patient with us even when the behavior was not the best. The breakfast was an absolute joy every morning - loads of options, everything fresh and house-made. The bar was also great, with great bartenders who knew their stuff. Also a shout out to Christian for the massage, expert healing therapy for a sore back.

Yelp
Such a great hotel! The staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well maintained and have great views. The spa is so relaxing, two saunas. Thermal baths and lounge areas with swinging beds. They also have spa treatments, I got an excellent facial. Breakfast lunch and dinner great. You can pack yourselves lunch during breakfast if you plan to hike all day or if you get back late there is always hot soup waiting for you in the food room until dinner. There is a huge selection of art and design books and magazines to read and look at. The lounge / bar / coffee shop area is super cozy and a wonderful place to sit. The outdoor patio in the sun is worth a million bucks! Absolutely recommend this place! Even just for a drink :)
