"This lovely Armenian bakery-cafe is a must-visit for the ajarski khachapuri alone: A bread boat filled with eggs, feta, and, optionally, the cured beef called basturma, it’s a bang-up way to start the day. But there’s so much more to try, including pastries like ponchik (custard- or jam-stuffed doughnuts); luscious coffee drinks seal the deal." - Ruth Tobias, Eater Staff

"In a small shopping plaza on the far southeast side of town, the kind you wouldn’t notice if you weren’t looking for it, is a cafe and bakery whose generic name isn’t likely to give you a moment’s pause either: House of Bread. But make no mistake—the goods are destination-level. Take the ajarski, a kayak-shaped bread bowl with a well-structured crust and a soufflé-like center of feta topped with sunny eggs. Or the megruli khachapuri—an equally eggy and cheesy, golden-brown puff of dough whose layers are somehow as light and fluffy as the flavors are intensely rich. Or the pizza-like flatbread known as lahmajun, topped with ground beef, spices, and herbs." - Ruth Tobias

"In addition to European confections ranging from macarons to tiramisù, this fabulous cafe and bakery serves up the specialties of the owners’ native Armenia, including the egg- and feta-stuffed bread boat known as ajarski; pizza-like lahmajun; and ponchik, a type of filled doughnut. An equal flair for coffee drinks enhances the experience." - Eater Staff

Really cool small market place, with lots of food on display and a small coffee bar. I was in awe the moment I walked in the door. They had so many delicious pastries on display and the whole place smelt amazing. The only notch down on atmosphere is you have to use your phone to bring up the menu. I'm really upset I didn't take pictures of my hot food but I must say it was amazing! Everything we ordered was very fresh, flaky and full of amazing flavors! I would highly suggest anything from here to anyone. The service was top notch, they could tell we were kind of in a rush because we had a tight time schedule and they absolutely delivered on speed and taste! The food is not cheap by any means but it is top quality and not anything you will find anywhere else. I'm from out of town but if I get the chance I'll definitely be back.

Oh man, how have I not been here before? Self described as Armenian with middle eastern and European influence, presumably following the path their family's migration, the menu was delightful and eclectic. The lahmajun (flat bread) with beef had great spicing, with flavors I was not expecting and am not equipped to describe. It was really good, and I wish I had more words. Worth a visit just to try one. The "classic" ajarski khachapuri was a great breakfast dish, two eggs on a bed of slightly tangy mozzarella in a flat bread with rolled edges to keep everything in. It was topped with a dash of za'tar (I think?) that disappeared into the dish without significantly impacting the flavor. The cheese was the star of the dish, just a really good mozzarella. Pastries, pastels, and baklava all looked good, but we didn't have any room to try them. I'm particularly curious about the perashki, deep fried bread stuffed with sausage, beef, lentils, or mashed potatoes. I'll be back soon.

Google
The food is next level amazing. This is something you obviously want to eat fresh so the wait didn’t bother me at all but it is something to expect when you go in. I will say I would love to have real silverware. We had both of our dishes containing tomato’s and I wouldn’t change it so delicious.

Google
It felt like a true four star experience to me. The customer service was quite slow with just one person doing everything on the outside of the kitchen. The floor wasn't clean and the prices felt quite high for the amount of food. However, the food is decent and unique.

Google
Excellent Armenian bakery with dine-in/take-out food options. The shakshuka with tomato is very good for breakfast and the khachapuri variations are even better. They have various espresso based options. Service was very good. It was fast, friendly and helpful. The space is nice with several tables and the display cases. If you're there when they're baking bread, the aroma makes the ambiance even nicer. They do have guest Wi-Fi. Parking is normally readily available.

Google
Bakery with yummy pastries. The lahmajun with meat and the baked bread boat with zaatar and egg were so delicious! I can’t wait to try everything on the menu. They were really helpful in suggesting what we should get. Very warm and friendly hospitality.

Google
Such a delightful little corner bakery, with hidden menu gems! The pastries are great, not too sweet, and their tiramisu was perfectly moist and coffee rich!! But the stand out items are on their made to order food menu! Dumplings, runny eggs, beef flatbreads! So many tasty things to try. The beef flatbread was so good, and at $2.50 a piece it has insane value. Definitely worth trying! Flavorful, crispy, and toppings rich! Dumplings were reallg similar to xiao long bao! Soupy, and hearty! A great pick-me-up dish. The outdoor seating was great for us and our dog!

Google
Actually, it does have a nice atmosphere. It’s a small place but the food is excellent. The pastries I have to say are the best I’ve had in Colorado in my 27 yr. here. It seems that people everywhere are putting so much extra sugar on top of their pastries nowadays. I don’t understand why, pastries are so good without all that extra sugar on top. The House of Bread makes it the old-fashioned way. I love it. I wish I didn’t live so far away I would go at least three times a week for their Armenian coffee and fabulous pastries! I bought one of each pastry to take home to my family and for the next day.

Cindy L.

Yelp
They have fabulous pastries! They also sell breakfast and lunch items, but we didn't have those. We've been a few times and always get a selection of pastries and always love everything.

Deborah M.

Yelp
Excellent service, unique baked goods and totally chill atmosphere! Everything we had was delicious and just ask about the things they are famous for and you can't go wrong!

Harlee S.

Yelp
My first time trying ajarski and man is that stuff good. Everything is made fresh and it's delicious. You can taste the love that they pour into the food here. And that nutella sweet was so good! Can't believe I've passed this place up so many times, it's a must try.

Yelp
10,000 BC Neolithic age, the earliest evidence of bread-making was found around Mesopotamia. The old English word for bread was called 'hlaf' that why we call it a 'loaf' in modern English. House of Bread is an Armenian bakery located in SE Denver. Armenia is a country located in Eurasia bordered by Turkey to the west and Georgia (the country not the state) to the north. What makes this place HOB special is the made to order dishes. Website photos describes each dish and estimated time it takes to prepare. They also have pre made pastries for quick pick ups. Kachapuri - Georgia's national dish they have different flavors one with Armenian style beef procuitto. Lahmajun - is a Levant style of pizza but usually does not come with cheese and the crust is very thin. Napoleon - aka Mille-Feuille is made in house with vanilla cream. Served with powdered sugar to blow some dust. They also sell a traditional Mille-Feuille made not in-house didn't try because it was sold out. The Meringue cake slice was airy and fresh. Service was friendly and they also have south facing patio tables to enjoy vitamin D. This place has so many different items I want to come back and try everything!

Yelp
I want to give 4.5 stars, but we round up to 5 here. The napoleon here is special. Also special is their jingalov bread on Sundays only. If you decide to get jingalov bread, then please eat it there. It doesn't do well when you wait too long, like taking it home. But I just love it. It tastes healthy too. Unctuous, bright, crunchy, tangy bite. The staff is incredibly friendly. It's like they are always having a good day and they want you to have a good day too. Why did I say 4.5 and not outright 5? Not all of their food items wowed me the way that napoleon and jingalov bread has. Nothing is bad though. Inside is always clean, but seating is a little haphazard sometimes. In my crazy mind, I always think of this place and neighboring "gyros and kebab" as a power couple. If I'm in the area, I always stop by these two places.

Kendra P.

Yelp
Our neighborhood sweet treat spot. We're trying be things still. All great choices. We also love the breakfast bread and egg delightful meal.

Deidre F.

Yelp
I visited Georgia (the country) in May and thought I would never find Georgian food and water in Colorado. I am so so happy I found this place! If you like mineral water, you have to have the Georgian water from Borjomi! On my Georgia trip, I visited Borjomi - it is an actual place! Now let's talk about the Khinkali! These are the Georgian "dumplings". It's my favorite food I discovered in Georgia. You have to try these! 6 is a standard amount for one person. A tip / "real way" on how to eat them - you do with your hands. Grab them by the top/nob then bite! You do not eat the top/nob. You can eat that part but no need to fill up on the thick dough. The restaurant was busy during my entire visit but no worry about dining in. People were in and out as well as picking up orders. The staff was very friendly. I look forward to my next visit at House of Bread!

Yelp
What is a Khachapuri and who has had one? I'm always on the lookout for something that I have either never had before or don't usually eat often. Bingo! I found a Khachapuri, which looked amazing, while looking for a coffee shop! Khachapuri is Georgian (south of Russia) and is basically a boat-shaped yeast bread stuffed with cheese and has a runny egg or two on top. You break off a piece of the bread and dip it into the cheese. It is from Georgia, but it is popular street food in Armenia, and other nearby countries. House of Bread is located in a small L-shaped plaza at the end farthest away from Dayton St. Parking is free in the lot shared with the other businesses. This shop is an Armenian Bakery. They serve up both sweet and savory goodies! I knew I wanted the Ajarski Khachapuri with Basturma, so I ordered it and decided on a Cappuccino. It took a while for the Khachapuri since it was made fresh. You break off a piece of the bread and dip it into the cheese. When it came out, it was hot and sooo scrumptious! I liked the Basturma, which is Armenian-style beef prosciutto. It was too large for me, I couldn't finish it. Also, between the cheese & the Basturma, the saltiness factor was a little too much for me. I might consider getting it with the Tomatoes or without the Basturma next time. Oh, and that Cappuccino was perfect! I almost ordered another one! TIP: Save 4% by paying with CASH!! There are a lot of savory foods on the menu here. I would love to try some of the items! There's display cases full of tempting sweets! I wanted to get the Espresso Crème Brûlée Cup, but I was too full and I was not going back home until the end of the day. Did you see the trays of Baklava?! I bet those are delicious! Next time!!

Suzana T.

Yelp
Tiramisu: very good, a little too sweet Chocolate Yojik: pretty good, almost like a Black Forest cake Beef Khachapuri: favorite thing I tried, definitely going back for this. The crust is flaky and the meat is flavorful! Can't wait to try more of the menu items!

Emily K.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice now. I do like their pastries quite a bit. It is an Armenian bakery so it is a good mix or euro & middle eastern flavors/style. I have tried the ponchiks, danishes, croissants and spinach feta pastry. I didn't even realize that they made food to order until I was just looking at their website. I think I will make a pickup order for some of their made to order food one day. The food looks good but the cafe is always crowded and loud. It's like a busy deli vibe and there are only a few tables in there.

Nikki P.

Yelp
Their deserts are amazing. I will be back! The salted caramel cake was flawless as was the chocolate cake.

Stella N.

Yelp
Delicious! I stopped by here to grab some sweets for my family and I'm glad I did! Right when we walked in we were greeted and helped. The man who helped us definitely went above and beyond. He answered all of our questions and loaded us up with sweets. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place to be!

Vajrang V.

Yelp
At the edge of the city basically almost Aurora, the "House of Bread" is like a warm hug from a babushka, but with a side of delectable delights. Walking in, you're immediately greeted by the heavenly scent of freshly baked bread, like a siren's call for your taste buds. Their menu reads like a United Nations of carbs, with khachapuri, perashki, Uzbek puff, and honey cake all coexisting in perfect harmony. It's like a global pastry party, and everyone's invited! The khachapuri, with its gooey cheese center, is like a cheesy surprise party in your mouth. The perashki? Well, let's just say they're so good, they'll have you pondering the meaning of life with each bite. The Uzbek puff? Flakier than your excuses for not going to the gym, and just as forgivable. And don't even get me started on the honey cake; it's so sweet and moist, it could make a grizzly bear break into a happy dance. So, if you're in the mood for a pastry journey around the world without leaving your neighborhood, the "House of Bread" is the destination you didn't know you needed. Just remember to bring your stretchy pants - you're going to need them! The Armenian coffee is very strong and will definitely wake you up like a slap in the face. The ambiance is pretty inviting with seating area and relaxing music. Variety of other middle eastern ethnic snacks available as well.

Yelp
This used to be one of my absolute favorite establishments to eat at but here lately it has fallen off. They used to offer lunch plates which I would get frequently, but they stopped doing that. It seemed that there would commonly be miscommunication with the kitchen on what days and when grilled food can be ordered. Now they demand payment beforehand when you call to place an order. This puts me in a bad spot because I've showed up several times after placing an order at the time I was told to arrive and was informed it would take an additional 20-25 minutes. (See other reviews noting similar experiences) I don't have this extra time on my lunch. So as nice as this place is, I am going to have to pass on the food and eating there until they bring back the lunch plates or at least let me pay once I pick up the food.

Aubrey R.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! People are so nice and is truly the best bagel breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Savory pastry was amazing! The sweet pastry was not our favorite but we will try a different one next time. Small area for improvement is having a food menu since we really didn't know they had all these other options and had order regret after finding out!

Alyssa H.

Yelp
My 10-year-old and I are on a mission to try food from around the world - in Denver! First stop, Armenia! My son was skeptical but he left with a smile and lots of excited chatter. For our savory items we chose beef khachapuri and potato perashki. The khachapuri had numerous flaky layers, and while I preferred the seasoning in the perashki, my son found the khachapuri was more suited to his tastebuds. The perashki was full of flavor, and the potatoes were soft but not too mashed with a golden exterior - a wonderful balance that expanded my world. For our sweets we chose the honey cake and the kartoshka. The honey cake was light and yet filling, not too sweet. The layers delicate. The kartoshka was rich and decadent, my son's favorite. The mineral water was not over carbonated. Typically not a fan of carbonated water, I was surprised by how subtle and refreshing it was. The staff were quick to help and the choices were so many that we have no choice but to return and explore more of this rich culture!

Yelp
Oh. My. Goodness. After having a Georgian version of the ajarski while visiting Seattle last month, the hubs and I had to have this again only in our hometown of Denver. One of our friends told us about House of Bread and we are forever grateful to him now. We came on a Saturday and the place was full although the owner told us normally the line is out the door. While we waited to order, I picked up two different kinds of sweet bread, selected desserts and waited to order ajarskis. The hubs did basterma (dried beef) and I opted for tomato. We got them to go with all intentions of eating at home. Turns out we were animals descending on its prey and didn't make it out of the parking lot. We also selected an assortment of desserts but really you could throw a dart and whatever it hit would be tasty I'm sure. This is a family owned and run business and let me say, they are hustling and so friendly and attentive. The hubs and I live about half an hour away and we have already decided this will be a regular place to eat. So. Good.

Scott E.

Yelp
The vibe in this place is awesome. The service is also awesome. The food was so so good. We will be back again soon. That's for sure

Lauren H.

Yelp
My husband picked up tiramisu for a Valentine's Day treat and it was amazing! I will definitely come back soon.

Yelp
During a recent visit to the big city, the offspring and I got to visit a little slice of Armenia located in Denver. The location is in a strip mall off Parker Road ( I don't know what neighborhood). The vibe is more bakery than restaurant, with cases displaying some extremely beautiful cakery. You walk up to a counter and ask for the items you want, then select a table and wait. There are warnings about wait times, so they have had complaints from the instant gratification Veruka Salt crowd. I ordered Armenian coffee, Perashski (fried bread with halal beef), Lahmajun (flatbread with cheeses and herbs) and Khatchapuri with Basturma ( a bread boat with cheeses, over easy egg, and a cured meat most similar to Italian Bresaola). The coffee is very finely ground, so expect the last 10-15% to be pretty sandy and don't drink it). Overall, I was pretty happy with the food, service was a bit raw but I think the kid serving us was just nervous. I finished with honey cake, which I thought was dry. Perhaps my Americanized taste buds were assuming that all cake shall be moist (per the Betty Crocker doctrine). On Sundays, they have Jingalov hats, which are flatbread filled with greenery but which we unfortunately did not get to sample. In summation, I would certainly go back. And I think you should give House Of Bread a try if you're in Denver.

Jourdon G.

Yelp
Phenomenal customer service and the food was OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend and will be back again soon!

Aiman A.

Yelp
Delicious food and good services. I visit this store almost daily, either in the morning or in the evening. The staff is very hospitable and the dealings with them are smooth.

Mio H.

Yelp
This was our first time at an Armenian bakery. The lady at the counter was the sweetest and she gave us great service. She even gave us their Sunday special JINGALOV HATS since this was our first time there. The pastries and cakes we ordered were all SO fresh and delicious. Not too sweet and just perfect. We will be back when visiting the area again!

Rika M.

Yelp
This is a great place for something sweet and savory with meat as it has all of that. The store is always impeccably clean and its modern interior inside adds to it cleanliness. I've been to this bakery only twice so far but it was NEVER unclean. And the selection of pastries (both sweet and savory) is just amazing to say the least. When it comes to the savory , they do have Halal (not sure if everything is Halal however.) From its cleanliness inside and the quality of the food they offer, I can tell that they do care about what they offer. I can tell that they pay attention to every single detail of what a store should look like and what they serve. I certainly appreciate a business like this, and I am fortunate to live nearby!!!

Yelp
I've been meaning to check out House of Bread since I heard they were in existence last year but we just plain don't get down toward Denver very often. We finally made it a couple weekends ago during my birthday weekend and I'm so glad we did! Armenian food has been on my food bucket list for years but until House of Bread opened, I didn't know of any in the whole state of Colorado. The interior is a cute cafe atmosphere and there's display cases of cakes and pastries. But the real treat is their online menu's made to order options. My spouse ordered ahead a pork babyback ribs plate which came with rice, some sort of bread, the bust hummus ever, and some of their grilled vegetable salad. I was instantly jealous because it looked and smelled amazing. My spouse devoured the ribs with much enthusiasm; I only got to try everything else. I ordered ahead a ajarski khachapuri and a cheese lahmajun. Both were super good but I highly recommend bringing your own knife because the plastic knives they have can't crack the ajarski khachapuri's crust and I had to eat it with my hands. I also tried Armenian coffee. Next time, I'd definitely get it full sweet instead of semi sweet but I wasn't sure how sweet it'd be. I'd also recommend stirring it so it doesn't settle to the bottom. We got a pound of vegetarian tolma, a cheese khachapuri and a beef khachapuri, and a chocolate and vanilla yojik to take home with us. I LOVED the beef khachapuri which surprised me 'cause ground beef isn't usually my thing but it was so tender and cooked so well; the cheese was fantastic too. The tolma were delicious and I ate on them for a couple days. The rolling job was really just amazing! I'm not a big vanilla cake fan but I would've eaten the vanilla yojik if my spouse hadn't wanted it and the chocolate was amazing; not super sweet the way American cakes are. Overall, we had a fantastic time and hope to go back in the near future. I already have a list of what I want to try.

Anne P.

Yelp
I loved everything about this place. Literally EVERYTHING You'll walk in and be greeted instantly with a hello, you'll be helped promptly (depending on how many people are in line) and if you're new the employees do an amazing job of explaining what items are even though there are little plaques with the name of the item and what goes into it. The prices are OUT OF THIS WORLD. You walk into ANY other pastry shop and would instantly spend your first born child on an order of 5 cannolis and a few other items. We walked out of this bakery with all limbs and our child!! Prices are reasonably priced Also I really appreciate that the owner came from behind the counter whenever it got slow and greeted each table inside and out of the place to see how things were going or if anything else was needed!

Alisa J.

Yelp
Love this place so much! The food is absolutely amazing and I love the atmosphere! They have authentic Armenian food and also have lots of Armenian products sold as well. It feels like being transported there! We went for breakfast and it wasn't crowded. They have nice indoor seating and the people are friendly. If you're ordering something like the bread boat or the meats it does takes while but it's worth the wait! The bread boat with beef prosciutto was so delicious! It's a wonderful hearty breakfast and was very flavorful!

Cece S.

Yelp
My new favorite place! I've been meaning to come here for ages, but today I finally did. It is absolutely amazing! The selection is incredibly large and incredibly tasty looking looking. I settled on the creme brûlée with berries - which to my surprise comes served in a glass container you can take home! I wanted to try one other pasty and asked the very sweet young lady behind the counter for recommendations and while she said that she recommended everything, she did say that the ricotta pistachio cake was delicious and she definitely was right! I can't wait to come back and try more!

Jessica M.

Yelp
We came here on a whim one Saturday morning and I have to say it was one of the most delightful surprises I have had in a while. So much so that I am already counting the days until I can get back to House of Bread. We tried a variety of things but the absolute standout was the kachapuri which was this phenomenal bread boat with cheese and eggs inside. It comes out piping hot and you mix in the eggs to cook them a bit more and just break off pieces and dunk and scoop them into the center and it is heavenly. We also tried their Napoleon, which we were told is their best seller. It is layers upon layers of philo dough filled with a lightly sweet cream. And has that production quality flaky texture topped with a light dusting of powder sugar. When you bite into it the layer crunch down and the filling oozes out and it is so so amazing. With good reason this item is a bestseller. The last thing we got was this fried dough filled with Nutella, if Nutella is not your thing there are some other filling options. But the chewy texture of this was so good and the dough wasn't too sweet. Honestly it left me wanting more once it was done.

Tarun G.

Yelp
Aurora is known for many hidden cultural gems, but House of Bread may be the best Mediterranean/Turkish in the state. The misleading restaurant name actually hides the fact that you can get some fantastic halal meats grilled and served to perfection (with a bit of a wait). If they only served pastries and coffee, it would still be a home run 5 star recommendation. But the meat and entrees are so stunningly good that we were licking the bones off as we finished the meal. We thought only later we should have taken more photos, but we ate it so fast that they didn't make it into our camera. I suggest calling your order in ahead, or dropping in and placing your order and then driving somewhere else for a bit - they take time for the good stuff. If you don't mind waiting, you'll be rewarded. The lamb chops were tender and perfectly spiced. The Lule (ground meat kabob) was shockingly juicy and just the right flavor. Even the rice was fantastic. The prices are very reasonable for the meats and pastries. We wished we had more time to sample everything. I highly recommend a slow paced dinner here, or a takeout on a nice evening. No alcohol here, so take it home if you want to pair with some red wine.

Yelp
Oh my! :( This was like watching a Top Chef restaurant wars fail. The product we were able to taste was good! The service was very manic and extremely confusing. The staff was working very hard, but running around and no one had a specific job. They did not have a system to keep track of any orders. We had to leave after 30 min because the person who took our order lost the order and/or could not tell how much longer. Again, if the all the staff had 1 specific job, this place could be a 5 stars -- maybe?? We got baked goods, but could not get forks or napkins without getting in line again. The trash was overflowing both in the dining room & bathroom. It was such a frantic vibe--- very off putting! They need table numbers, labels for their products in the display case and a system. Regardless, I wish them well. Running a business is challenging but organization needs to be prioritized.

Yelp
So happy we tried this place yesterday! I've been eyeing this bakery on Yelp ever since they've opened, and although the reviews and photos look amazing, you'll have to go in to see for yourself. There are five to six cases of goodies which you'll be wishing you had two stomachs. One for the main foods. One for desserts. Armenian Coffee: My husband really loved it! He likes his coffee super strong so he asked for a little bit of sugar. Chibureki: Fried bread dough stuffed with sautéed halal ground beef, onions, and spices. This was so good and flakey! It reminded me of a Vietnamese Pate Chaud if you've ever had those. We ordered an assortment of dessert to take home. Here's our rankings from best to good. 1. Crème Brûlée Cheesecake 2. Ricotta Pistachio Cake 3. Espresso Crème Brûlée 4. Cappuccino Cake 5. Blanca Cake Lastly, the staff here is so friendly especially the young lady who helped us at the cash register. You can tell it's a family business here, and they definitely hustle hard to please the long line of customers. We'll see you soon, House of Bread. Thank you!

Emily M.

Yelp
This has been on my list for a while, and I'm so glad we stopped in. That being said, I'm torn between 3-4 stars. Ultimately the bread itself, then potato khachapuri, and the honey cake (so light and not overly sweet) swayed me to 4! I'm disappointed they didn't have real silverware, napkin/utensil station, or water cups. My sister and I split a ajarski khachapuri, which is their basic baked bread boat with feta and mozzarella topped with 2 easy-baked eggs. It was incredibly difficult to eat with cheap plastic utensils. The eggs were also not even close to easy baked.... I almost didn't feel comfortable eating them with y little they were cooked. Next time I come here I'd ask for it to be cooked a bit longer. It's also a bit expensive. I do appreciate the menu says how long things will take.

Steve K.

Yelp
First time here .. some friends from LA recommended this place ... they were fast, food was great, friendly staff, chill vibes.

Benjamin M.

Yelp
Food here is excellent. The service is great! A little piece of home is what it feels like! Sweet little cafe type feel... wish we lived closer! Lots of homemade goods!! Amazing import desserts too!

Anna M.

Yelp
The service and timing is so poor. I have gone twice and both times they messed up the timing of my order and I had to wait more than an hour for items when being told it would be 20 minutes. The first time was ordering online and they hadn't even started making it when I showed up so I waited a other hour. Then the last time I went in to order. They brought my to go order out in chunks (so much of my hot stuff got cold, including coffees) and after saying it would be 20 minutes, it would be more than an hour and 10 minutes and only because I went and stood right by the cash register until they brought it. The food is amazing, which is why it is so disappointing. I would make the time and go eat there if they had been honest about the time it would take. If it takes an hour to make good food, I'm here for it... But not when you tell me it takes 20 minutes and people that got there after me got the same food I did in shorter time frames.

Yelp
Grubhub just delivered magic in a box! I am 1/2 done w/ the first HUGE napoleon, and I am so happy! I have struck gold! Can't wait to try everything else!

Yelp
House of Bread was almost one of those flukes that I found while driving pass it on a previous trip to the Denver area. I was riding in the passenger seat looking out the window when the sign caught my eye as we drove past this bakery. When I looked it up and saw that the reviews were solid and that the photos were helpful in determining what they had on the menu, I was sold. I bookmarked and vowed I would attempt to try their pastries on my next visit to Denver. Well, I did just that, and I just had to share how great this place is. My dad opted not to drive to the bakery with me and my mom, so mom and I had a little breakfast date. My mom was always interested in world cuisines from growing up in Houston, but sometimes finding ethnic bakeries is tough in a place like Denver. My mom was so overwhelmed with all of the pastries and delectables on their menu, that she left it up to me to order our morning eats. I chose the Napoleon, which originates from France, but plenty of Mediterranean cultures also eat it. I also ordered us a made-to-order Kachipuri. Kachipuri is one of those Eastern European/Mediterranean dishes that hasn't quite gained popularity just yet in the US, but I have a feeling it will become one of the next "it" foods to try for those looking to broaden their worldly culinary appetites. For those who have not yet tried this dish, it is like having a pizza crust in the shape of a flat wide boat with cheese and eggs cooked on top. There are plenty of toppings that can be added, but I'm a bit of a purist and prefer my Kachipuri with no additional toppings. It was my mom's first experience with this dish, and it was love at first bite for her. She was in heaven being a cheese and bread lover. There's no wrong way to eat this dish, but I prefer to mix the egg and cheese up to create more of a "cheese sauce" texture and taste; to each their own. After eating through about half of it (Kachipuri's are pretty big), we dived into the Napoleon. Oh my goodness; one of the best I've had (sorry Paris, I still love you). It was like a traditional French Napoleon pastry made love to a piece of baklava. The pastry was lighter and flakier than any of the French Napoleons I've had, but still had the right balance of pastry to cream filling. Absolutely outstanding and worth purchasing even if it's for a takeaway purchase. While I didn't catch the name of the employee who waited on us, she was friendly, knowledgeable about the bakeries products, professional, and kind to everyone who walked in. She was also the barista, because I ended up going back to the counter to order a chai...I forgot because I was so caught up with the pastry displays. The chai was equally good with lots of cinnamon sprinkled over the top. Parking is easy, getting in and out is a little more of a challenge, and while the location might not work for some people, it worked great for us since we were on our way to the Cherry Creek area for a bit of shopping. I think this is a great addition to the Denver area and I hope that they continue to flourish in their business. I am a fan, and after mom and I enjoyed a breakfast together, she said that she was definitely returning without me to order pastries, cakes, and even the Kachipuri. I may have introduced her to a new dish, but I have my mom to thank for my love of world cuisines.

Yelp
I didn't think I'd find any Armenian food when I moved to Denver because...why would you? So, finding House of Bread was such a nice surprise! The beef Lahmajun here is honestly better than any I had in Armenia. Is that ok to say?? These hold up really well in your freezer too. I brought some to friends here from CA who added avocado to them which is fairly disturbing to me....These need no avocado. They can hold their own. The food is worth any wait but just call ahead to order hot food.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast selections-- unique offerings and so delicious! Highly recommended!

Yelp
The service was slow. I ordered a chai and we finished eating before it was ready. The waitress sat and didn't make the chai or coffee. The pastries we ok, but nothing to come back for r. They didn't have a large selection.

Yelp
Have been wanting to check this spot out after hearing plenty of good things about them. This cafe has lots of coffee/tea options as well as a fridge with anything from Honest Tea to yogurt soda. There is a huge selection of both sweets (3 display cases!) All reasonably priced and range in size from sharing to bite-sized. The savory items include baked goods and entrees. I had my eyes & stomach set on the ajarski already so didn't get to try the other items. The ajarski takes about 15 min to make and comes in 3 versions: OG 2 eggs + two cheese +/-diced tomatoes or with air-cured beef. We opted for the traditional version and loved it! Piping hot, the crust and bottom is crispy with a pleasant chewiness. The filling of cheese is so melty with the right amount of richness and salt. The egg yolks were perfectly runny. Dip the corners in the egg and you're in heaven Worth many visits!!

Yelp
This is my new favorite bakery. The food is so tasty and it is such a great family. I love the ambiance as well.

Yelp
The sweets here sounded so good, we just had to try a few items. We tried a few cakes and they were all good, but a bit dry. The environment was amazing and the staff were so friendly. Their kitchen had already closed (the kitchen closes before the store by about an hour) so I'd like to go back and try their food, but we weren't bothered by it because we were there for something sweet. I would imagine we will try their hot food before deciding if this is a 3 or 4-star place.

Yelp
All I can say is they're killing it. House of Bread is a must for any food lover in the Denver area. This amazing Armenian bakery has incredible food and desserts. Everything we ate was to die for. I had never tried the Georgian AJARSKI KHACHAPURI, but wow was it tasty! It's a new favorite for sure. Their Armenian food was very well done too. I loved both types of lahmajun, though I preferred the cheese mainly because the meat one needed a little more meat and I would've preferred it to be a little softer dough (less cracker like in texture). Their Kyufta was also excellent, though pine nuts inside might be a nice edition. Both apricot desserts we had were incredible. I loved them equally! And they had fantastic Armenian coffee. We also bought a loaf of bread to take home along with some apricot jam from Armenia. Both have been delicious. The inside is very clean with seating available so you can eat there. They had good service as well. Very friendly and helpful about menu questions. I've been here twice now since they opened but I'm committed to coming often now that I've had a chance to try more food. Go! You won't regret it.

Yelp
Food quality is fair. Interesting options for sweet and savory pastries. Quality in appearance is good. Flavor is average. Bathroom was closed to public with a sign that said Bathroom closed, Customers can't keep it clean.

Yelp
If you haven't been to @houseofbreadinc yet, you don't know what you're missing!! This beautiful little Armenian bakery is Family owned and operated, and is an absolute treasure!! I could've stayed there all day and eating myself into a coma! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and the food was incredible! Every single pastry I tried was more delicious than the next! But my favorite was the ponchik filled with nutella!! The Ajarski (bread bowl filled with feta, topped with eggs) is a MUST ORDER, I promise- it will blow you away!! Pro tip: they have phenomenal kebabs as well but order ahead at least two hours because everything is made to order! And the chicken lule skewar (pictured) is out of this world!!

Yelp
The first time I saw this delicious Ajarski on insta it definitely put this little Armenian bakery @houseofbreadinc on my radar! What appeared to be a bread, cheese, and egg boat, I figured how could I not like that; it looks amazing! Welp; now that I've tried it I can honestly say: it's just as good as it looks! Mozzarella and Feta offer a nice contrast; a tangy bite from the feta, and the crust is near perfection. Perfect for dipping in the over easy eggs! As definitely large enough to share! Or if you like leftovers get yourself your own! Why not live it up! They have such a vast array of other breads and pastries to choose from, I can tell I will be frequenting this place often! I made sure to give two other selections a try: the Perashki which was a doughy little (looked like a breadstick) stick of bread loaded with a mashed up potato and fresh dill filling. This was very good, especially the addition of the dill, but I will admit I put hot sauce on this one. It actually was perfect with a yellow scotch bonnet hot sauce from the Caribbean. Now this brings me to the Ponchik, an almost donut light creation filled with custard. I think the only appropriate exclamation here is as the kids say f*** me up. Wow this was amazing. It would blow any donut out of the water. It was so light and airy with the most delicate dough. Filled with a light and creamy custard, this might be the most favorite dessert/sweet I've had in a while. Get this, don't even think about it, just do it. You will think you died and went to heaven on earth. Simply amazing

Yelp
Delicious baked breads, savory, sweet and some packaged middle eastern spreads and some hot options. We tried one of the ajarski, which is baked bread with eggs, cheese and spices and made to order. It is big enough for 2-4 people to share (or one if you're eating as an entrée). The perashski is fried dough stuffed with ground beef that looks like a large cigar. They also offer potato and cheese stuffed variants but they were out when we went around 1:30pm. The sweet pastries are delicious and there are a ton to try from fried options to cakes and pastries. They also have a coffee machine for espresso, cappuccino, regular coffee,. etc. for hot beverages and a few coolers of yogurt and drinks you don't find at your King Soopers, Whole Foods, etc. The only drawback is that there were quite a few people in the shop as some patrons were working at the tables (some regular and some high top). I can't believe I drove by this place so many times as it was smack your lips good. House of bread you rise to the top!
