"Humboldt & Jackson calls itself an “American tasting room,” which is mostly just another way of saying “restaurant.” They serve mostly-American things like mac & cheese, steak, a cheeseburger, and salmon, and the space is split between a bar area up front and a big room that you can rent out in the back. The front is essentially a tiny tavern where you can eat a full meal or just hang out and drink, and it works pretty well for a very low-key date. There’s also a pretty good happy hour here, and they make some very good cocktails." - Bryan Kim

I had the pesto pasta and the waffle. The pasta was great! Perfect portion size and very flavoursome but I personally prefer pasta a bit lighter. I like the different textures with the al dente pasta and the crunchy nuts and cheese on top. The waffles was faultless. It was just incredible and was the best dessert of my trip! My own recommendation is please stock apple juice. 😁

Great food, service, and vibes. What more could you want? Their monthly events are a blast– really enjoyed the cheese making class.

Friendly servers, great food with unique twists and happy hour everyday. What else can you ask for? Someone tell Weezer about these guys, they've been looking for happy hour on a Saturday. 😂

The food was really good and the hospitality was top notch. I would make sure to go back to this place again the next time I'm in Brooklyn. And if I was from the area I would be a regular.

Awesome cocktails. Had the burger off the newly expanded menu and it was delicious. We've also been for the brunch buffet on Sundays which is super fun. Great food, great vibe/ atmosphere. Definitely check it out.

Burger was serviceable but my friend and I both agreed lacked a convincing beef-y flavor. They had one of my favorite beers on tap, half acre daisy cutter, but at $8 for perhaps a 250-300ml pour it wasn't particularly cost effective. Friend enjoyed his pickle juice martinis. I wouldn't rush back but it's convenient to Brooklyn Steel and gets a good crowd going.

I love this place! I am hesitant to write this review because I don't want their events to get so popular that I cant get in. I have been to H&J's SuperBowl bash as well as their Kentucky Derby party and they were hands down the best time I've had at a bar/restaurant in this neighborhood(been here since 2007). I also love their bourbon selection and am planning on going in for dinner now that they have a full time dinner menu.

Not only is the food awesome but the staff are some of the most friendly and helpful of any local spot. Been living in the area for over 8 years now and this is still one of our go-to places since it opened. Very chill vibe, atmosphere. Nothing to pretentious. Highly recommend!
