Step into this retro diner for massive burgers, fresh breakfast bites, and delightful Tex-Mex, all served up with friendly, efficient service.
"Coffee: $2.75 This classic Astoria diner has been in operation for the better part of a century, and it sure looks its age. We mean that in the best possible way: Jackson Hole is a greasy, gleaming cathedral of neon and chrome. If you just landed at LaGuardia—or have a longish layover and are feeling particularly ambitious about how fast your TSA PreCheck can have you back through security—cozy up in a booth and crank up an appropriately nostalgic tune on the mini tabletop jukebox. You can’t go wrong with one of their massive burgers, the BLT, or the orange creamsicle milkshake, made with fresh-squeezed juice." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, bryan kim, neha talreja, sonal shah
"This diner, once named Airline Diner, was dropped down just west of LaGuardia in the days when there was no food to be had in airline terminals (which may still be the case, depending on your perspective). Then the budding Jackson Hole chain took it over and upped the hamburger game, while keeping things pretty much the same, including the amazing air-travel-themed design. It’s still a great place to pick up a meal on your way to or from the plane. We are especially fond of the BLT." - Melissa McCart, Robert Sietsema
"This restaurant near LaGuardia Airport opened as Airline Diner in 1953 and became part of the Jackson Hole burger chain more than 20 years ago. The space still has an old-school vibe that may be recognized from an early scene in classic ’90s film Goodfellas." - Eater Staff
"Listen, if you wanted to come to Jackson Hole just because it has a cameo in Goodfellas, we’d understand. If you wanted to come to Jackson Hole for the impeccable neon and chrome aesthetic, we’d get that, too. But this classic mid-century joint originally known as the Airline Diner (it’s a 10-minute drive from LaGuardia), has also earned plenty of admirers for its burgers. The massive, juicy seven-ounce patties are available in more than 20 preparations, and they’re all very easy to like. The rest of the food is average diner fare, but between those burgers and the 1950s time-capsule atmosphere—complete with the mini-jukebox on your table—this place is worth a stop on a long layover, or just to nurse a hangover. Food Rundown Western Burger Order this only if you’re prepared to immediately take a nap. It has melted jack cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, and fried onions. Get it as a platter for some crispy and formidable steak fries." - Molly Fitzpatrick
"The prefab metal building, built by Mountain View, replaced the Air Line Diner and was renamed Jackson Hole in 1972. Known for its prop-plane logo, it is visible to planes taking off from the airport. It was one of the first locations of a diner chain named after a Wyoming ski resort." - Robert Sietsema
