The Best New Cocktail Bars in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Jaguar Room opened in the former Silver Lake De Buena Planta space alongside Tacolina. The playful interior contrasts jaguar print with red leather couches in the cozy indoor space that’s inspired by iconic gathering spaces like the bar in Cheers. Former Otium bar manager Sam Eppel created the cocktail menu, which spotlights Mexican spirits. Sip on the Hibiscus Breeze with mezcal and hibiscus or the Jaguar Paw with gin, celery, fragrant pandan, and lime," - Rebecca Roland

Jaguar Room - Review - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"If there’s an animal print shortage at Macy’s, it’s because all of it’s plastered on the walls at Jaguar Room. This small cocktail bar in Silver Lake is attached to Tacolina’s beautiful patio and doesn’t take reservations, so let the host know you’re visiting the bar and skipping the restaurant if you only want drinks (a decision we support). This cheetah-clad cubbyhole of a bar is illuminated by a disco ball and plays psychedelic rock, providing a fun and campy backdrop for meet-up drinks. And the cocktails are strong. The Scorpio Rising tastes like a gin-soaked lemon bar, and the Tobacco Old Fashioned fills your nose with smoky bitters before the whiskey burn hits. If you want to keep the night going with guac and a few taquitos, wander over to Tacolina for a snack afterward." - Sylvio Martins

Swanky Tropical Cocktail-Themed Jaguar Room Prowls Into Silver Lake - Eater LA

"The Jaguar Room, located next to Tacolina, goes into the shuttered De Buena Planta space as an attached bar covered in animal print. Upon entering Tacolina, walk midway through the patio and veer left to dip into Jaguar Bar. The lounge received a full makeover with midcentury modern lighting, animal prints, plenty of deep red banquettes, gold accents, and small tables. Rush plans on bringing a piano to the corner for live performances. Former Otium bar manager Sam Eppel created the cocktail menu, which focuses on Mexican-produced spirits. Drinks include a guava Daiquiri; a Hibiscus Breeze with mezcal, rhum agricole, hibiscus, watermelon, lime, and sea salt; and the Jaguar Paw with Condesa Gin, celery, fragrant pandan, and lime. For the tobacco Old Fashioned, Eppel uses Abasolo whiskey plus elote and Turkish tobacco bitters for a smoky, earthy finish. The Jaguar Room only offers smaller snacks like chips and guacamole, yucca fries, and taco duos. The Jaguar Room and Tacolina are open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily." - Mona Holmes

"*Delayed post from Jan '25. Came here to start the night before heading to the full restaurant next door at Tacolina. I loved the speakeasy vibe of the place, with a single red light outside signaling the entrance. You can park in the lot safely btw! From the moment you walk in, it feels like you've time travelled into a swanky 70's disco lounge, with jaguar print on the walls, red leather booths and a disco ball spinning in the corner. The music is perfect for swing dancing and the floor is smooth enough to do so too. The bartender was very knowledgeable about their drink options and made great conversation. Note their bathroom is the same as the restaurant's, so you'll need to travel through the main dining room to get there. The menu is lengthy and standardly priced for LA with $9-$12 beers and $15-17 mixed drinks. We ordered the Austin Eastciders Pineapple, which reminded me of an alcoholic Jupiña, and and the Guava Daiquiri topped with a slice of radish. I recommend both a they were a puckery, yet sweet."

Google
The CUTEST bar hidden in Silverlake! You would never know it’s there. You enter through a black door in the CCA parking lot and it’s like a leopard haven. Really good (and strong) drinks, disco ball, good music, etc. love love love.

Pretty cool little speakeasy that has two ways to get to…. You can either go through tacolina or go to their door with the red light on…

Yelp
After a delightful meal at Tacolina, we popped into The Jaguar Room to check it out. The entrance is near the kitchen from the restaurant or via the parking lot next door (look for a red light and a black door). The drink menu features creative cocktails prepared with spirits produced in Mexico and contain creative additions such as fragrant pandan (Jaguar Paw) and Turkish tobacco bitters (Tobacco Old Fashioned). Upscale bar snacks are also available in case you want something to munch on. The décor of this cozy speakeasy Is campy chic - complete with gold accents, animal prints, and red banquettes. The dim lighting emits a sultry vibe that invites you to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, and the music sets the tone for a fun night. This is a place to gather with friends or bring a date and enjoy skillfully prepared drinks that are beautifully presented. The bartenders are friendly and will make you feel at home. *Movie Nights every Wednesday 8 pm - Free Churro Popcorn *Available for private events. *Metered street parking. Free after 8 pm

Yelp
PARKING: There's a parking lot out front but it's unclear whether patrons can park there, so park at your own risk. There's also street parking on the Main Street but gets very crowded on weekends. Drinks: most cocktails range from $16-20 they also offer beers and wine by the glass. Good selection of both. Drinks weren't exceptional but they were nicely poured. Bartenders were also very patient and kind, they made sure people were served in order. Ambiance: very small seating area, at most 7-10 small tables. We visited on Friday evening around 10 pm and it was very full (~40 people). People mainly stand around making it difficult to move. Music was jazzy/back ground type music.

Yelp
A new hidden gem! Tucked away inside an unassuming shopping plaza on Sunset Blvd. with free parking, there is no signage, just a red light and a black door. We found ourselves in a fascinating space. The bartenders were friendly and welcomed all questions! We ordered the Salty Bast*rd with mezcal, honey, and cynar and the Guava Daiquiri with blanco tequila, guava, pineapple, cucumber, lime, and absinthe for drinks. Both drinks were made well and on the stronger-tasting side while balanced. For snacks, we got the house olives and kettle chips seasoned with chili and lime. The house olives were pickled and tasted delicious. They were sweet and had a little kick. The kettle chips were crunchy and seasoned well. The ambiance was perfect. The lighting was dim enough for us to converse without the music tuning us out, and the decor made sense. The music selection was top-notch. We saw folks entering from the other side of the bar connected to Tacolina, a Baja-style Mexican restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and will be coming back!

Yelp
Went to check out this spot that just had opened and was pleasantly surprised. We came early around 6, and most of the bar was booked out for an event so there was not much seating. The bar room itself is pretty small, it's super cute and aesthetic inside but there is very limited seating and not a lot of standing room either. The specialty cocktail list is pretty small but they have some unique drinks, not as pricey as I expected but still around 17-20 each.

Yelp
Tried to go on a Friday night and it was just too busy, nowhere to sit. The ambiance was great it was just small. I also thought it was going to be more separate than tacolina but it was like really attached to the restaurant. They had similar cocktails, with a few extra offerings at Jaguar room. Definitely a cute place to go on a weekday or on a date. Also not much seating for groups of people, mainly tables for two.

Yelp
Great music and great drinks. The bartender was nice and friendly. I recommend their Guava drink.

Yelp
Silver Lake needs more places Ike this. Intimate, stylish, low lit rooms where cocktails are made with great care. Long may it remain.
